Is this the best supermarket around and how do I get here from the campground. :confused:

I go to the Winn Dixie. Even got a check cashing card online before we left. It's north of the park. I'm bad with directions, but we go out of Ft. Wilderness, make a left and go out that way. I think it's to 535 and then a left on the main road. Took about 10 minutes to get there. The prices were comparable to where we live. But having the Winn-Dixie card definitely saved us money.

Well, I'm a Publix girl. (Have my own card there! ;) ) They carry Boar's Head Deli meats... great stuff! Also like their brand OJ and canned goods. Their produce is always fresh and I like their prices (for Florida). Unfortunately, I can't help you with directions. I typically shop on Marco Isle before heading to WDW. :D

Wow this is good to know. My kids only eat boar's head cold cuts. I guess I'm off to Publix. If anyone can give me directions that would be great. Thanks, Gina

I guess I'm off to Publix. If anyone can give me directions that would be great. I didn't check, but I'd bet Publix has a website with a store locator. Then, use mapquest to get directions. That is, if no one here can help!

Publix has the best Taboulle (sp) in the world.

As your countdown still shows 1 day 20 hours, I thought I'd respond:

I noticed on my last trip the Publix has added a new store closer to FW.

Exit the Disney complex on Hotel Plaza Blvd (Lake Buena Vista) to 535, turning right on 535. Drive under I-4, turning left at the first light after you cross under I-4. This should be Vineland Ave.

Continue on Vineland Ave, pass the outlet stores (nice center) and follow the signs to Publix.

This is about 5 minutes further than Goodings, but you save a bunch!

I just spent 3 weeks in Ft Wilderness... I shoped at both. Publix is nice but way more expensive than Winn Dixxie. And Farther away. To get to it just go out to crossroads (by DTD) and take a left at the lights. It is about 2 miles down from there on the right.

There is a back way to get there but unless you are familer with the area just go to DTD and head out to Crossraods and take the left.

There is a fast way to get to pulix as well by heading towards AK Lodge and heading out by Maingate on to 192 (you take a left at the lights just before the entrance to AK Lodge and then a right at the lights on 192 and Publixs is just down the street on the right.

It saves about 10 mins and a lot of lights...

Actually, you gave the directions to the old Publix on 192. The new one is just a close as Winn Dixie. Just turn right at teh Crossroads and go under I-4.

We went to Publix, I don't know how we got there we just drove around until we found a grocery store. We really like it there. The employees were so friendly, they even insisted on taking our groceries to our car.
