Walk from GF to Poly?

We will be staying @ GF in mid. Dec. and plan to eat @ O'hanas @ the Poly. Can we walk to Poly instead of taking the monorail all the way around?:cool:

I've done the walk, exactly as you said, for dinner at 'Ohana!

If it's a hot day I wouldn't recommend it, there's not much shade until you hit the Polynesian. Otherwise, it's really pleasant and you walk by the wedding pavilion. You might catch a peek at a new bride!:)

Didn't mean to sound as if I don't appreciate the monorail services. I only thought it would be better for me to walk than to ask the operator to put it in reverse and make it snappy!

Anothe fun way to get to the Polynesian from the GF is to take the launch which leaves from the dock by Narcoossee's.

The walk is wonderful too unless it's too hot out as previously noted. 10-15 minutes I'd say.

Unless you get a freakishly hot day in December (although I've seen those! ;) ) The walk should be no problem at all. Its so pretty to stroll along the beach!

I wonder how long the walk is too, so that I can compare with riding the monorail around. We have gotten stuck in a "holding position" on the monorail a couple of times before and sat for up to 10 minutes. If we had a PS, it might be quicker to walk. Plus, can't hurt to get a little exercise in before I pig out!

As I mentionned before the walk takes us about 10-15 minutes I think.

I didn't notice the mid-Dec. part of your post. As WDW Princess said heat should not be a problem.

The launch is very fast from GF to the Polynesian. Probably 5 minutes. We either walk or take the boat.

As mentioned the walk from the GF to O'hanas should take about 15 minutes. If this is for dinner, it may be dark outside during mid-Dec.. The path has lights and is paved. If it is dark the walk to the Poly is interesting with the torches burning and going back to the GF, it is a beautiful sight, with the GF lighted and the view of the MK over 7 Sea's Lagoon. I have taken this walk several times and really enjoy it.
