Hello all. I'm renting points from a DVC member I work with for BWV in November. We just reserved as studio. Well airfare from Milwaukee to MCO just dropped to $99 r/t on Delta so my SIL and BIL may be joining us. I am wondering how confortable the sofa sleeper is or if we should consider doing something else. Thanks much.

We just got back a week and a 1/2 ago from a 5 day stay in a BW studio. My 3 year old daughter slept on the pull out sofa, but at some point in the middle of the night I usually joined her as my husband and are used to a king size bed and I was getting too squished. I thought the pull out sofa bed was very comfortable. In fact, I think it felt like a regular bed.

One word of warning though, the studios aren't very big. You will be crowded with 4 adults in one room. We even commented that we wouldn't want to stay in a studio with older children (pre-teen and up) based on the size.

Jenn thanks for the advice. :D

We've travelled a lot with my SIL and BIL and even shared a room at WL with them a few years back. But I guess we'll talk to them and see what everyone's comfortable with.

We had another couple join us in a 1 BR last January. At first they were uncomfortable, but after a few days they were putting the mattress on the ground and were just fine. I think a lot depends on the size of the individuals (they were both in the 200 lb range, give or take 20) I know I would never be comfortable, but I'm a light sleeper!

Its OK for a typical pull out sofa bed but I do not consider any of those to be as good as a regular bed. As to size of room, it is bigger than a WL room (359 as compared to 340 sg ft at WL) which you mentioned having four before.

but I believe the sleeper sofas that Disney uses at their DVC resorts are much better than most sleeper sofas. I have slept on them several times and find them to be pretty darn comfortable. I agree with the previous posts about 4 adults in a studio might be a bit too much closeness.

When we were down to OKW in Jan., my nephew and his girlfriend used the sleeper sofa for 8 nights and said it was comfortable. He is 6' 3" tall.

hi: my son and dil and the teens have used the sofas at bwv. they aren't the most comfortable if you are a bit larger, but they certainly aren't bad at all seem to be the general concensus. as suggested in another post, some people do put the mattress on the floor to avoid feeling the support bar of the sofa through the mattress.

I am in the 200 lbs range and when we got the 1-br I had my dad and his wife stay with us. We took the sleeper( what a good son I am) wasn't bad or good it was alright. It was only a couple of nights though.

All I can say is it was the most uncomfortable thing I ever slept on. Our feet were higher than our heads. We had to sleepp at the foot of the bed. Should have said something to housekeeping but it was our 1st trip and didn't want to make waves.

I think it's a very individual thing. I have slept on the sleepers at OKW, BW, Vero, and HH... We usually give our two daughters the bedroom so we can enjoy staying up at night. Anyway, my husband and I have no problem whatsoever and find them to be more comfortable than any sleeper sofa we have ever slept on.

If you have room, bring along one of those foam matterss pads.. the thick ones. My DH and I slept on the sleeper at OKW, and after hearing the "Horror" stories of my mom and daughter in law after sleeping on the sofa..I was prepared for the worst.... Well, let me say, I 'd do it again! It was not half as bad as they said it was, maybe it was the foam pad and the fitted sheet. BUT.. when you factor in the number of points saved I was willing to try it. I still don't understand why they griped when it was a free vacation.. but to each his own! get a foam pad!

The sleeper sofa is okay. Our last trip my mother slept on it and she said she was fine. I find that with grown adults more than just my mother, we like to stay in the larger accomodations. The one bedroom would be nice and give them the pull out. Take care, Tammy

I thought they were okay, but my daughters didn't like them until they starting putting the aerobed on it and then they thought it was fine.

When are you going? That's an awesome rate that I can't seem to duplicate but not for the lack of tryig.

If I could get a rate like that, I might be able to talk DW into another Disney trip this year.
