Since I am not sure what makes official vs unofficial, I am just making this the list. I was waiting until we got closer to the date to start a thread but since 2/21 and 2/28 already have active threads, I figure its our turn to join in

We will be on the cruise. Myself (a few years older than 29), My wife (not as old as me, only by 18 months) and our son (7).

This is our second 7 day DCL cruise. The first was 2 years ago and was the Eastern. We had a great time, in fact it was the best vacation I ever had. We booked the exact same cabin which is a Cat 7.

We will be flying in on Friday and staying at the Radisson. We stayed there last time and enjoyed it. The pool is great with the waterfalls. We also meet some of the of DIS cruisers there and had dinner with them. Perhaps some of us will be able to do that as well.

We booked through Costco which was about $600 less than DU even after factoring their rebate.

Hope this gets the thread going. All you Valentine's Cruiser's come out and show yourself!

Hi Mojomanny,

We will be there!!!!!! This will be #5 for us, and we are in the same cabin the last 3 years in catagory 7 also! It will me, DD17 and DD friend 17. We are using Disney air etc... and flying in a day early. We have our tickets already for Cirque du Soleil (front row!) that Friday, and staying at the Hyatt.

We did the Western last year, and had a really good time with the Dolphins and Stingrays. Can't wait to do something else this time.

Would love to arrange some kind of DIS meet this time. It fell through for us this year, but definately could work this time.

What deck catagory 7 are you on? We are on deck 7.

We will be in 7624.

I hope to work on a DIS meet and am hoping we will remember to wear our lime green ribbons.

I have seen many of the Cirque performances and they are not for me. I feel after you have seen one, you have seen the all (for the most part). "O" in Vegas was a little better, primarily because of the added dimension of the water. I am sure you will enjoy the show, its just not for me.

Saw this post last night but didn't have time to reply, this should bump it back up.

We're going too!!!

Myself, DD17, DS14 and DD12. It's our first cruise!

I booked through disney also and am flying in the day before, don't want to miss the trip because of weather delays. I don't know yet where they will be putting us for the night though.

Would also like to do a DIS meet.

To bump this a bit....

We have purchased the insurance thus far only for the airline. Figured there was not sense insuring the cruise until the 60 day window. I plan on getting the insurance for the cruise when the time comes.

I have had an experience where we did have to cancel a trip to Vegas and was very happy we had the insurance, since 1 person was ill and had to cancel. We all decided to reschedule. All 5 people would have been out a lot of money otherwise. (Or we would have gone and been out even more, courtesy of the casino's)

We will be in 7122, on the other side of the ship. I really love this location, it is so easy to walk up 2 flights to the deck 9 coffee station in the morning. Of course we are also near the aft deck.

Lynn, ages ago I sent you a PM, did you ever get it? Where in Connecticut are you from? We are in Norwalk, and will be flying out of LGA. Are you doing Disney Air, hotel etc...? We did this last year, and they put us up at the Hyatt. Going in the dead of winter, I'm always afraid if I book anything on my own, and something happens, it would be up to me to make it right. For peace of mind, I have Disney do it all for me. This year we just missed the BIG snow storm. Alot of people got to the ship really late, and some had to travel to the next port! My travel agent already said that this year we will staying at the Hyatt. It is so nice to get a good nights rest, and walk out of the hotel to meet the bus. Your daughter is the same age as mine and her friend. This friend is someone she met on the cruise 3 years ago, and she lives in New Jersey. If you are also at the Hyatt, maybe your daughter would consider meeting Aimee and Ali so she could know some "old hands" at the common grounds.

Definately closer to the time we will have to work out a DIS meet. Has anyone thought about what excursions they are going to take yet? Since I have been on the western just 6 or so months ago, let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for starting a thread for us!!
Myself, DH (both forty-something), DS14, DD6 and DM are all going on this cruise. It's DCL cruise #2 for me, DD and DM and 1st DCL cruise for DH and DS.

We are all looking forward to it and I would absolutley LOVE a DIS meet. I haven't decided where to stay. We will be flying in around 8pm on Friday, so it will probably be the Hyatt. Then Happy Limo to the port, nice and early in the morning. We have tentative plans for Key West (trolley tour), Cozumel (Sally's Mini Golf) Grand Cayman Dolphn Discovery...

Lynn, what do you think of getting our DS's together via e-mail or somthing?

I love the idea of the ribbons or how about the mickey stickers from Home Depot?

I am soooo excited!!

Welcome Aboard our thread Dreamer. Perhaps your DD and our DS will be in the clubs together, that would be nice.

How close are you to the World Famous Rockaway Bakery? I have cousins in Montvale and a trip to the bakery is almost a required stop. It is so neat there and the bread/rolls are wonderful.

For your night before, have you followed some of Barb's posts about priceline and the Hyatt (I think its the Hyatt). She seems to get some very good deals.

When is everyone's return flights? Ours is 1:00 via Delta Airlines.

moocow35

I have already collected several of the lime green Mickey's from Home Depot. They aren't stickers though, they are cards.

I am at Disney's mercy as to our flight times, I am paying extra for a deviation request to make sure we are in Florida early on Friday so we can go to Downtown Disney for the early evening. I find that using Disney is alot cheaper than getting air myself this holiday week. I'm still pricing air on my own, but everything is way above Disney's quoted pricing. I won't know my flight details until about 60 days

I have been counting this down since we got back in February, and time is now going very fast!

Hi

We are also going on the 2/14/04 cruise (and are also on deck 7!)

We have a daughter who will be almost 8 and a son who will be 12. We were on the President's week 2002 Eastern Magic.

Three other non DIS families are joining us. We are all from New York (Queens & Long Island).

We have a button machine and can make buttons for a DIS meet. We used buttons on our last cruise as thank you "notes" with the phone cards or tip envelopes and can modify the mickey design (lime green?).

We are all looking forward to our favorite non theme park vacation.

Here in Rockaway Park, there is only one famous bakery, and that's the Harbor Bake Shop on Beach 116 st. Yes, their rolls are awesome! I have sisters in North Carolina and Virgina and a trip to the bakery is a requirement. They miss it so!!

I have to check Barb and Tony's site again regarding the Hyatt at MCO. Since the kids have school on the 13th, flying down Friday evening is the only option for us.

The bakery I was thinking of is Rockland Bakery. Oops....but yours sounds wonderful.

Sounds like our cruise DIS-Meet is coming along nicely. Jeff seems ready to make some buttons for us. I will buy some lime green ribbons.

Verandah Andy arranged for a brunch DIS-meet on his cruise. What do you all think about a Palo brunch meet on a Sea day?

My son had a blast in the club, having some people he may "know" might make it even more special. He will be 7 1/2 on the cruise.

Would it be helpful if I put together a Yahoo group for us where we can post pictures? If Jeff can make the buttons, perhaps I can ship them out to people along with the ribbons ahead of time.

Am I trying to be too organized about this???

Dreamer04
09-07-2003, 11:55 AM
Mojomanny, I love your ideas!! The Yahoo site sounds great and so does the Palos brunch DIS meet!!

I am glad your organized, because Andy had a great time meeting DIS'ers and I would love to do that, too!! Also, I am eager to get the planning underway and have no idea how to proceed. So, just tell me what, where and when and I'm there!!

If there is anything I can do, just ask! I have a scanner and some time on my hands, so I'll be happy to help!!

The brunch is definately not to be missed! This year my DM was on the cruise with us, but last year it was just the girls and I. I went by myself to the brunch. The cm making the ressie looked suprised at the time, but I got great service at my table for one.

The yahoo group sounds like a good idea. I'm glad your so creative to be able to do that. This gives me an excuse to go out and buy that printer/scanner I have been wanting. The old one died ages ago.

Please, let me know how I can be of use. Or I could dream up something on my own?

Hi

I made a mock up of a button. Its basically the DCL wave logo with a lime green Mickey instead of a red one. There is a place on the top for a name and the bottom has Disney Magic 2004.

How do I show it? I have a MAC and when I paste it, it does not show.

Hello fellow cruisers,

Glad to see we finally got a thread going. Had a busy weekend and just checked back now. Had an appendix scare with my DD12 and found out my puppy needs knee surgery, vacation can't come soon enough.

Robin I did get your PM about a few weeks after you sent it, didn't see it, was still new to the boards. We are from Southington, my DS17 spent 2 weeks at Univ of New England this summer with a girl from Norwalk.

I did book everything through Disney because of the time of year, insurance too. Last Feb we went to Aruba for Feb vacation and were one of the last flights out before everything started shutting down. At least we can say we were in Aruba during the blizzard of 2003!

We will be doing Dolphin & probably Stingray excursions, have to start my research and questions soon.

We will be on deck 8 aft, Cat 3. I would be glad to make a ressie for a Palo brunch for a Dis meet. What day is good for this, an at sea day?

Ths should bump us back up again

Lynn,

I am so sorry to hear about the appendix scare. I hope every thing is okay now. I'm glad you got my PM. What airport are you flying out of? I agree with you booking completely with Disney this time of year. You never know what this years weather will bring. The other part of my family did not request flying out a day early, and they went from New York to Pennsylvania in a little tiny prop plane, and were stuck there for hours due to the storms. They barely made the ship before it left.

Also, may I recommend doing the Dolphin swim rather than the one Disney offers. You actually get to go in the water with them, and it is limited to a small group of 6 or 8. It is an amazing experience, I'm glad we got to do.

Jeffrey, I am completely computer handicapped. I have no idea how you would post a picture with a MAC. You might put this question through on the technical board?

Please you guys let me know what I can do?

Once you are a member you can post messages and we will all be able to get them via email or checking the group.

I posted some photos from our Eastern Cruise. Please post family pictures, previous cruise photos or what have you.

Regarding the Mac artwork, what format is it in? Can it be saved as a jpg or bmp?

I have already entered reminders for when our final payments are due, both on the day and one week before.

Thanks for setting up the Yahoo area, Mojomanny. I will try to post my JPG button sample there.

Patty - We may try to get our DD7 (she looks 5 or 6 but will be 8 in April) moved up to the Oceaneer Lab with her brother and other friends. Will your daughter be closer to 7 or 8? Our daughter would love to make a friend before the cruise.

Do we have any 5, 6 ot 7 yr olds who will be in the younger club?

My DS (Stephen Michael) will be 7 1/2 (literally to the day on the 15th) on the cruise. I am planning that he will be in the younger club since he enjoyed it so much a couple of years ago.

As an FYI to first time cruisers, if you have seen the commercial where the parents wanted to go to bed and the kids wanted to stay out at the club, that was our son. After the show, Karen and I were ready for bed and Stephen Michael wanted to go to the kids club. He really had a great time.

They are all Disney crazy and will love the clubs. I am sure that they will all outlast me and want to stay up to all hours of the night. She will love to hear that we already know friends that will be on the cruise with us.

Any other 11 or 12 year old girls on this cruise?

According to the cruise list, there are several more DIS families on this cruise. I guess they aren't board addicts like we are.

It's getting closer, but life keeps getting busier!

Everytime I think I'm going to search this board for tips, I find out something more urgent needs my attention.:(

Thanks to Robins comments and great photo of Aimee with the dolphins(on our group page) I've reserved the 2:00pm slot for the Royal Swim at Dolpin Discovery in Cozumel for the 4 of us, they sent back my confirmation in just hours.

Next I have to figure out which Stingray excursion to book. My teens will probably do a teen thing on Castaway Cay and I think Key West will be left open for now. I don't want to overbook.

I have been making partial payments online with DCL but still have a large chunk left.

moocow35
10-11-2003, 12:02 PM
Hi everyone!:wave2:

I hear what you are saying about being busy Lynn. I have been meaning to answer your questions posted on the Yahoo board, but something else always stops me.

Our final payment is due on 12/15 with DU. My Christmas bonus comes on the 10th, so I plan to pay in full a little early. I believe Disney excursions will be open for booking on the 14th for us.

Lynn, you will have the time of your life with the Dolphin swim. I found the people at Dolphin Discovery to be extremely helpful and friendly, and always answered my emails immediately. The park is extremely clean, and they even have lockers for you to keep your personal things in while you are in the water. Let me know if you have any other questions.

We did the Disney excursion in Grand Cayman with the Turtle Farm, Hell, and the Stingrays. The other part of my family booked with Captain Marvin's. I've heard rave reviews about Captain Marvin's, and my family was very happy with the service and the excursion. I went with Disney simply because I wanted to get a "taste" of the island. It seems like we are there for such a limited time (departs at 5:30) rather than 11 something at Cozumel. This 2004 trip I already had booked, so I knew I would be going back. The stingray part of the excursion was great! Tip: buy your own underwater cameras here from like Walmart. They sell them on the boat that takes you out to the rays, but they wanted $20.00 each for them!!! The turtle farm was fun, Aimee got to hold a turtle, and of course stop in the shop for some rum cake! Hell, was okay. They do a very quick stop there, we took some pictures, and mailed a postcard from "hell"

We didn't book an excursion in Key West. We took the trolley on our own, which allows you to get off at any stop along the way. We did alot of shopping, this time the first stop will be Keno sandals. My DD was so upset last time, we decided to do that last rather than carrying her purchase everywhere, but the shop closes really early and we missed it! The Hemingway House tour was facinating, that is the only other thing we did.

This time we are leaning towards the Jeep excursion in Cozumel, and possibly horseback riding in Grand Cayman. Key West, well shopping, and perhaps renting one of those electric cars to explore some "back roads" The town itself is so quaint and colorful.

Only 4 more months! Time is flying by now.

Hi everyone!

Mojomanny, what is the secret with the Blonde Giraffe and where is it? Our very first stop in Key West will be Keno Sandals.

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore, so I bit the bullet, and went for broke, and requested the air deviation to my specifications. We will be flying direct, and be in Orlando at 9:51am on Friday. Our return flight leaves Orlando at 1:55. I should be able to pick my seats in a day or two. I am relieved I don't have to stress anymore about how and when. So Lynn, hopefully you will have a morning flight also!

Only two months till final payment, and then we can start booking our excursions. I can hardly wait to hear about the changes onboard!

Blonde Giraffe is run by a brazilian couple who use the grandmothers recipe for Key Lime Pie. It has been voted best Key Lime Pie in Key West. Since this is the Key Lime Capital of the World, I am betting it is pretty good.

Where will you be staying? We get in to MCO around 3PM and are staying at the Cape Canaveral Radisson.

Thanks for the info, I will have to do a search to find out where the place is. It's not the one where the old guy stands out on the street corner holding a pie, is it?? Unforseen circumstances are causing us to change from the 2/14 Magic to the 2/15 Royal Carribean Mariner of the Seas. Eastern instead of Western....and not Disney.

SO disappointed....but at least we will still be on a ship

(and will spend 2/14 at WDW, possible 2/23 also since we will have to fly home on Monday)

We're going, we're going, we're going!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: My name is Kelly Trout and I'll be on the 2/14 cruise with my husband and 2 daughters (6 and 8). This will be our first cruise so we are very excited!:wave2: I'm going to try and find your Yahoo group...wish me luck! Kaitlyn (my oldest) will be celebrating her 8th b-day on the cruise. Does anyone know if they do anything special for childrens' b-days? Looking forward to talking with all of you.:grouphug:

Welcome Kelly and family! I'm not sure about what DCL does for birthdays. You can have a cake sent special to your table and the waiters will all sing happy birthday. You can also order gifts or decorations for your stateroom through DCL. Those you can find on the official DCL website. You might post that on the general board for more answers.

Mojomanny, I am so sorry to hear that you will not be joining us. I am interested in hearing about Royal Carribean though. I've been thinking about that myself for 2005 out of New York. You'll have to post back your report, okay?

We are getting really excited! Almost time to pick out our excursions.

Due to an unexpected complication, we will not be joining all of you on the ship.

The good news is that we will be leaving from Port Canaveral the next day on the Royal Carribean Mariner of the Seas, so we will at least be on a voyage, just not the one we have planned so much for.

Any volunteers to take over the Yahoo group or should I shut it down?

Be well and happy voyage!

well all charged anyway. ;)

I didn't want to forget to make the final payment.

Hope to have DD's college application in mail tomorrow and am off to the post office to mail DS's high school application.

Then I can focus on the cruise and excursions after this week, already have one booked.

Since I have CAT 3, I will call, if they don't contact me, to reserve Palo for an at sea brunch. Any DISers interested?

From what I have read I will need cabin #'s and names. I would rather reserve for too many, than not enough, can always cancel if you change your mind.

Mojomanny so sorry you won't be cruising with us, have a great time on your alternate cruise.

Hi everyone!

Yes Lynn, I am definately in for the brunch. Snyder party of 1, stateroom #7122. Thanks for the offer, do you get to pre-book before the "ressie rush"?

My company Christmas bonus is paid on 12/10, I will pay my cruise in full on 12/11. This is always such perfect timing! Gee, only one college application? My DD is applying to 5 colleges. Now we are making appointments for the interviews. Good luck to your daughter, I hope she gets exactly what she wants.

Okay, I am so ready now for some warm weather. This freezing cold is getting old already, and it just started. Lynn, you will find out your flight and hotel info in just a month. Aimee has really expressed an interest in meeting your DD before the cruise. So, if you can't make it to downtown Disney with us, then for sure we should meet up at the Hyatt later. We will touch base later when you know what your timing is.

Getting close!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :jumping3:

I am so happy that we are paid in full! Just 2 short months away now. Sunday is the actual 60 mark for all of us, but I don't know if Disney will be in to take the reservations for the excursions that day. I will definately be on the phone first thing though. So don't forget everyone to make your Disney excursion reservations!

Have any of you used Hotels.com? Our flight out of New York on Friday was at 7:00 and has now been moved to 6:30, so we will stay Thursday night at an airport hotel. Hotels.com has the cheapest rates for the Clarion. I have never heard anything about them. But for a couple extra hours of sleep, it will be well worth it. To book with the Clarion directly is almost $100.00 more than hotels.com.

I am really excited now!

We are so ready for this cruise, its bad enough we have snow, now its iced over.

Robin, I already booked Cozumel with dolphin discovery and will probably do Captain Marvins excursion in Grand Caymen (was debating going with Disney but we like his itinerary better). I think we won't do anything at Key West, maybe some shopping and take advantage of the ship.

Welcome to the cruise Robins, I'm traveling with my DD17, DS14 & DD12.

As we get closer to cruise day I will be calling concierge to get my at sea day brunch ressie, I believe its Monday. Thanks Robin for the info, if anyone else would like to join us let me know so I can include you.

Lynn, my sister really enjoyed Captain Marvins, very well run outfit. You'll love the Dolphins. Since we did both of those last time, we are trying something different this time.

I took a chance not paying extra for the deviation and I'm very happy with what I got. I just have to call now for seats. We are staying at the airport Hyatt for fri night.

2/13 we stop at charlotte and arrive in florida at 11:45am. we have a direct flight on the way home, only problem is it doesn't leave till 6:15, have to find something to do for the day..... any ideas?

Just got my confirmation for captain marvins!

Hey Lynn,

That is great! You really lucked out. Aimee and I will be arriving like at 9:30 am, and are staying at the Hyatt also. Again, I will extend the invitation to you and your kids to join us going to Downtown Disney. We would be taking a towncar, but would have to book a van or stretch limo to fit everyone. I haven't booked that yet, but will be soon. We plan just to shop around, have dinner perhaps at the House of Blues, and then go to the 6:00 show at Cirque du Soleil. You still might be able to get seats for the show. Then head back to the Hyatt to meet up with Ali who will be flying in that night. If not, perhaps we could meet up that evening so the girls could meet your kids.

I booked and confirmed our horseback riding with Nicki's in Grand Cayman, have the Jeep excursion booked in Cozumel, as well as the teen fury for the girls in Cozumel. I am all set!:boat: Now all I have to do is pack and try to patiently wait.

We can all relax and breath now... the much anticipated letter arrived... no not our docs..... DD's college acceptance letter, she got in to her one and only choice, what a happy christmas!

Robin, after speaking with the kids and as tempting as it is to go to downtown disney for Friday, we have all unamimously decided to go over to Epcot for the day instead after we have checked in, we still have unused park days on our passes. We really want to try out Mission Space and get dinner around the World (have to price car rental as opposed to taxi). We will definately meet up at the hotel later in the evening, I know my kids will be trying out the pool. What time are you planning on leaving for downtown?

What do you do on disembarkation day? I'm wondering if the Hyatt rents rooms for the afternoon, our flight isn't till 6:15. I know my kids will be tired or we would just like to hang out at the pool.

Hi Lynn,

Tell your daughter congratulations on her acceptance. That was quick! Norwalk schools do things very different. Aimee has to give all her applications to her counselor who then puts in the recommendations (Aimee is not allowed to read them) and mails the applications. We are not expecting to hear back until spring. We still have to book all the interviews as the schools require a portfolio and interview to be considered.

Sorry you won't be joining us, but we understand. I'm hoping when we arrive that early in the morning we will be able to check into the room. This last time I think we were able to check in at 11 or so when we got there. We will head out for Downtown shortly after checking in. We will head back for the hotel around 8 that night to meet up with Ali when her flight gets in. Perhaps we can set something up for a Starbucks coffee or something later?

When we stayed there last, there was a discount offer to rent the room for the day in with our paperwork, I'm sorry I can't remember how much, but they do offer that. I'm sure your kids will be tired that last day. It is customary for the teens to stay up all night that last night on the ship.

5 days till Christmas, and then no time at all till the cruise!

It's been a busy fall.

My DH, DS 14, DD 6, DM 77 and I are all on the 2/14 Western. Our shore excursions are as follows

Key West-Old Town Trolley-all of us

Grand Caymen-Stingray City-all except DM

Cozumel-Dolphin Encounter-all of us

Castaway Cay-Wild Side excursion for DS, Parasailing for DH,DS and myself.

The teen catamaran I think is also booked-have to verify this!

We're flying out of JFK on 2/13, staying at the MCO Hyatt. Happy Limo is picking us up and bring us back to MCO on 2/21. Our return flight isn't until 8P, so we're getting a day room at the MCO Hyatt so we can enjoy the pool, nap, have dinner and head home.

I have litterly been in bed since Sunday night. This has now turned into a sinus/bronchitis thing, and the antibiotics I was given 2 days ago must not be the right ones, as I am increasingly getting worse. I plan to call the doctor as soon as they open today to get something else. 5 days in bed is way too much for me, I have things to get done!

Hi Everyone,

I just found this group and wanted to say a great big HELLO to all
those who will be our shipmates this Valentines. This will be our
4th Disney Cruise, we have been on one other cruise with Princess.
No comparison!! Disney is by far the best. We will be traveling
with my husband, myself, my daughter who
is 12 (a month away for 13 and hoping to go to the STACK) my son who is 10 and my mom and dad in law. We are driving from Michigan and getting to Orlando on Friday and staying at the Boardwalk, then driving to the pier on Saturday morning. We are DVC members so we can use our points for the stay at Disney. We were original planning on being in a cat 11 on deck 5 but got moved to deck 2 because of a discount option for my inlaws. It will be a big change because last cruise we were in concierge level 3. I'm not sure I will like being so low on the ship and without a balcony.
We have late seating for dinner also. My inlaws are not so happy about that because they prefer to eat earlier but it will give us more playtime during the day.
We are planning to go on Conch Train tour in Key West, (after reading the posts I think we will be also making a stop at the Blonde Giraffe. As my MIL loves key lime pie.
I believe we are doing the submarine tour in Cozumel and the Stingray City Observatory and Island Tour in Grand Cayman. I'm not 100% sure on these as my DH is planning this and I never know until it is time to leave what the final decision was.

Can't wait to go!!!

Hi Everyone

If you have Disney arranged air out of Laguardia (NY) you may want to check with Delta to see if you are on flight 2573 (6:30 AM). We were on that flight 2 years ago and as a guess, I called Delta, and they were able to confirm our group of 11 people are all booked on the same flight this time also. We were able to get seats assigned even though we didn't receive documentation from DCL yet. We are also booked on a 12:00 PM return out of Daytona connecting at Atlanta.

We will be with another family that has an 11 year old girl also. So I think she was planning on just hanging with them, however she would like meeting kids her own age. We are also on deck 2. Robins,

My DD about this cruise. She read in the DVC newsletter that the age group for the Stack was 12-17. But on the DCL website it says 13-17. So she is quite upset about that. She is will be 13 in May and my DS will be 11 in May. She already acts like she is 16 she doesn't understand why she can't go to the Stack. I did send a question to the DCL but haven't recieved a reply. It seems like if they are that close to the age they might let her go in. Since I know she will be hard to live with if she has to be in the group with her brother.:hyper:

I can tell you that you will love the Disney cruise. Everything is totally first class. You will be forever spoiled for any other cruise line. My DH and I went on the Princess Western last July for our anniversary and it was really nice but near as nice as Disney and I would NEVER take my kids on one. I know on Disney that everything is kid friendly except the areas that they specifically tell you about. Princess didn't seem that way and I would not have been able to take my kids to any of the shows and the kids club was a small as my living room not a whole deck like Disney.

I think you will not want to leave the ship.:teeth: :teeth:

Welcome all new cruisers!

Just in case you haven't gone back and read the whole thread, I'm trying to get some of us adults together for an At Sea Day Brunch at Palo.

I will be reserving it prior to boarding, all I need are names & cabin #'s. So far it's Robin & I, anymore interested?

How about a DIS meet during the sailaway party so all the DKids that haven't met yet can do so. Looks like there's quite a few of them.

Here's my gang:
myself Lynn
DD17 Suzy
DS14 Joe
DD12 Rachel (who is upset by the way that she is only 12 1/2)
we will be staying in cabin 8086

Here are the plans so far.

Leave Hartford 2/13 arrive 11:45am (tentatively going to Epcot)
meeting up with whoever is at the Hyatt in the evening

Key West - open

At Sea Day - Palo Brunch

Grand Caymen - Stingray City with Captain Marvins

Cozumel - Dolphin Swim with Dolpin Discovery

Castaway Cay - open

2/21 - hanging out at Hyatt until 6:15pm flight to Hartford

I have all my seat assignments & reservations, now all I need to do is possibly rent a car for the afternoon on 2/13.

Robin, hope you are feeling better

I think its almost time to get packing or shopping for those items we don't have.

Lynn

P.S. Jeffrey, is the button factory still open?

Welcome to the new cruisers from me also!

Thanks Lynn, I am feeling a little better today. Back to work anyway, and made it the whole day.

Jeffrey, we are on that flight number out of La Guardia at 6:30am, however it is the day before, we are leaving on Friday. We are flying out the following Saturday from MCO at 1:55 direct back to New York.

Our plans are:

Key West - Keno sandals first stop, then random shopping (I recommend the Hemingway House tour for anyone interested)

Grand Cayman - Horsebacking riding on the beach with Nicki's

Cozumel - Disney Jeep excursion, the girls will be doing the teen catamaran thing

everything else is open. Basically relaxing and more relaxing.

I've booked our room at the Clarion for Thursday night in New York by the airport so we can have 2 extra hours sleep. FL Tours limo has been booked for our "excursion" to Downtown Disney on Friday. Cirque du Soleil ends around 7:30pm, so we will leave downtown Disney at 8:00 to head back to the Hyatt. I'd love to meet up with any of you staying there on Friday night. I know Lynn and Ursula will be there. Aimee and Ali would like to meet the other teens before "the stack" however both of them are old hands with the cruise.

Lynn, meeting at the sailaway would be great, however I can almost promise that Aimee and Ali will already be off "checking things out" so they won't be there. I asked FL Tours for the grocery stop, and was thinking about getting some champagne or will take any suggestions to toast our sailaway. I'll tell you though, we should pick an out of the way place, if the weather is good, there is so many mobs of people on the upper decks it is very hard to find anyone.

I haven't thought about packing or what to take yet. Too bad one can't magically lose a ton of weight overnight, that would help. But keep dreaming, right!

Hi again

Robin - You're lucky to have a direct flight back. Did you book it yourself or thru Disney? Even our Atlanta connecting flight is full (some members of our party do not even have assigned seats yet).

Lynn - My DW, DS12 and DD, who is almost 8, are reserved for the Cozumel Royal Swim but the Discovery Web site now says you have to be 8 and taller than 4'5" which my DD is not (even on her tippiest toes). She is a great swimmer, but we may have to switch to the Encounter program. Either way, I'l be the official photographer.

Yes, the button factory is gearing up for the anticipated requests (we made 24 cruise buttons yesterday). Just email (jeffreyy@aol.com) or PM the info and I will send them out to you.

Hi Jeffrey,

I booked through Disney, but I opted for the Air Deviation, and paid quite a bit more to request direct flights. Last year Disney had the other part of my family fly in a little jet connecting in PA then on to FL. There is no way I would step foot on one of those little planes. I'm sure I could of booked direct flights on my own for less, but then this time of year I want the "Disney Air" security in case of bad weather.

Also, I would not worry too much about your daughters height and the Dolphin Discovery. We did this last year, and last minute they booked 2 "walkins" with our group. It was 2 little girls, now I'm not too good with ages, but #1, the adults did not go in with them per the websites rules, and #2, they did appear very young and short!

She informed me she will find me whereever I go, I made the mistake of telling them I will be enjoying some alone time in the adult only section.

She currently doesn't have an AOL screenname, will get her one this afternoon and PM it to you. I'm sure she would love to chat with someone beforehand, I'm sure she'll feel more comfortable that first day if she knows someone before. Hi

Robin - We also like the security of Cruise provided Air. Four years ago we were booked on a Celebrity cruise and there was a small snow storm on the Friday before Presidents week. We had a 6PM Friday flight for a Saturday afternoon cruise and when the flight was cancelled we had to really scramble to get to Florida. All of the Saturday flights were already full. We got lucky and our travel agent found us a last minute flight on Midway (I think). We live about 15 minutes from LGA and that is about all the time we had to get there.

Clara - We have a 7 year old daughter who would like to email (she doesn't IM) your DD7 if you are going on the 2/14 cruise. Our daughters name is Jori and her email is JoriY@aol.com.

Gee Reddaddy,

Your travel agent should have supplied you with all the information on pre-booking your excursions at the 60 day mark. Yes, I would make a call. The documents should be coming in the next week or two!

I don't know about everyone else, but this new cold snap is for the birds, and I can't wait to enjoy the 80 degree weather on the cruise!

Thanks to all that sent PM's with screen name for my daughter. Thanks for the info for Palo Laura.

We have to take a little trip to the Montreal area for my grandmother's funeral, will be home late Tuesday. She had been ill for some time (my aunt cared for her all this time so she died at home). She is now finally at peace.

I'm sure my daughter will be getting aquainted with her new pals then. We will have to start some serious packing next week. Right now I have to pack for -20F in Canada, brrrr.

Lynn,

I am also very sorry to hear about your loss. Stay warm, I don't know how it can get much colder!

Clarisse,

I have never found it cool on the ship. But I'm always hot anyway. Florida can be cool in February, but as soon as we get to Key West it was around 85. Very warm in Grand Cayman and Cozumel as well. I always pack my summer sun dresses to wear, and a few pairs of shorts. I've always been very comfortable with only that. Perhaps a light sweater or wind breaker for nights up on deck.

Try this link: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=381216

If that doesn't work, go to the technical board, and you will find the thread to add the countdown timer. Don't feel bad, it took me a while to get it down.

Torontodisney,

Glad you found the thread. You made a really good choice going with Disney. This will be our 5th cruise, does that say enough about how happy we are with the Disney Cruise Line?

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers, the funeral was a celebration and reflection on my grandmothers life.

Now I know why we stopped visiting Canada in the winter, snow & cold, driving was terrible. Kind of like it is today in Connecticut.

It was so nice to see family I hadn't seen in over 25 years, brought back old memories of summer vacations in Canada.

Now its time to catch up on some cruise reading. I also have to answer a few PM's.

Do any of you past cruisers know when the Character breakfast is? Is this something that may interfere with Palo brunch? What is a good time for brunch?

Waiting for Doc's.

We have booked the Conch train for Key West but I am having serious second thoughts on this. From post I have read it seems like maybe this might not be the way to go. The trolley sounds like we may have more flexibility. My questions are if you buy a ticket for the trolley does that entitle you to get on and off at the stops without paying again Meaning is the price of the ticket good for the whole day or do you have to pay each time you want to get back on the trolley. Also, does the Trolley have the same narration that you will get on the Train? Since we have never been to Key West we want to get all the details of the city.

Thanks for the info.

The Character Breakfast Days for the Western according to the Passporter are Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. If I remember correctly, If you start your dining rotation in AP, your CB is Sunday Morning, If your rotation starts in Lumiere's it would be Monday Morning, and lastly PC would be Thursday Morning. Does anyone know a way to find out your seating rotation prior to boarding ???

Hi Fairygodmother,

We did the trolley for that reason, you can get on and off when you want. We did not book through Disney, we walked over and bought the tickets there. Yes, the driver does narration, and the fee that you pay is for the day. No problems getting on and off. You might want to check out this link: http://www.historictours.com/keywest/ Hopefully it will work, if not let me know. It explains what both the train and trolley do, and you can even buy online for a discount. Again we had no problem walking a short distance and purchasing tickets there.

Disneypilots, I don't know of any way you can get your dining rotation in advance. Unless maybe if you are in catagory 1, 2, or 3, you might get special treatment.

The character breakfast is very early in the morning as I recall. I have never done it because of the early hour. I did Palo brunch last year on Key West Day. We don't dock until 12:00 noon, so a 10 or 10:30 brunch is what I believe I did. On a sea day the year before, I believe I did an 11:00 brunch.

Clara, we have late dining, I prefer it, so I requested it. You aren't so rushed, and early dining just cuts your day too short. If you have little ones though, they may fall asleep at the table for the first few nights until they get used to it.

I am still (not so patiently tapping) waiting for my docs. Last year I got my docs on 1/17 for a 2/15 sailing. So looks like tomorrow might be the day!

We leave LGA at 6:30 Friday morning, we will be in Florida around 9:30. Disney has us staying at the Hyatt on Friday night. We will be going to Downtown Disney for the day, have tickets for Cirque du Soleil. We plan on going back to the Hyatt around 9:00 to meet Ali's flight when it comes in. I guess I didn't calculate the boarding time correctly:eek: Last year we were on one of the first buses to the port. I think we were like 10th in line to board. Hi Robin

If Disney can't help you, I would call UPS and have them tell your local UPS office not to deliver any packages without a signature. That way, if you are not home they will leave a note for you to call or leave the signed slip for the driver. Many times UPS has a residence listed as "signature not required" because the have a release on file.

By the way, our DOC's still did not arrive either.

Taking the day off to go through my closet and decide what I going to pack, then its a mad rush to the mall this weekend to shop for a few items, when will my DS14 ease up on this growth spurt?

I can't believe it's almost time?

DD12 & DS14 both have Geography/History projects due the friday we get back, they must be done before we go. DD12's is finishing up this weekend, DS14 hasn't even started(puts a damper on the packing excitement).

Anyone else start packing yet?

According to all the lists I've been reading on these boards I think I'll need a U-Haul to bring my luggage to the airport.:teeth:

Thought about packing. But it is too darn cold in the house to be trying on bathing suits (how depressing) and shorts. I too need to go get some last minute things especially for my DS10. He refuses to wear dress clothes most Sundays to church so he is in need of some shirts and slacks that are formal night friendly. I know there is no way he will wear a suit . I tie will be pushing it.

Good luck with the closets.

Hi:wave:

I can't believe it has been 1 1/2 years since I booked this trip and it is almost time!

This weekend will be the beginning of the packing for me. Next week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and coming home Saturday, we will be in Florida for a college interview. I will then finish up the packing only to leave for Florida again on Friday the 13th! I don't think we will need any last minute mall trips. I don't have the time! Here and there I have done some online ordering, and I am pretty much set. (I hope)

Fairygodmother, I hear you about the depressing thought of trying on a bathing suit. I think I will pass on that, it will only make me more depressed. Sun dresses will do fine for me at this point!

Did we ever decide on a time for the DIS meet, or Palo brunch?

Robin

DMOMof3
01-28-2004, 08:40 PM
Robin,

I will be reserving our Palo brunch by the end of the week, not sure on the time. I've been reading the posts and it looks like brunch is one seating at 10:30 and lasts till 1:00.

Is this correct? Did you do the brunch last cruise?

I'm looking at doing it our first sea day which would be Monday. It's also offered on Key West day but I'm afraid that would cut it close for those leaving the ship.

I have to look over my private messages but I think so far its 6 of us maybe 8, I should be able to ad people on as the time gets closer.

As far as the DIS meet, I'm new to this, looks like a lot of people try to do it during the sailaway party in a specific area. Would be nice to just meet up and put faces to the names before our cruise, that way we can say hello as we pass each other during the cruise.

Any suggestions as to a time or place?

Lynn

P.S. If anyone wants to join us for brunch just PM me your name & room #, I will be calling for revervations soon.

moocow35
01-29-2004, 12:08 PM
Hi Lynn,

I looked back at my notes from last year, and I did do the brunch on the first sea day. It may have changed since then, but when you go make the reservations, they have time slots all blocked off. I did the 10:30, and they actually have a table reserved for you. I don't believe it is an open come when you want, it would get too confusing for the reserved tables. Unless they changed it since last year. We were there for around 45 minutes to an hour, so you are right about the Key West day. The first sea day sounds great! Any time would be good for me.

I'm open for the meet at the sailaway, just let me know when and where. I was going to try to get some champange to toast the sailaway, as I requested a "grocery stop" with FL Tours.

Lynn, did you still want to try to meet up at the Hyatt later on Friday night? Aimee and Ali would love to meet your daughter before we board the ship. Aimee is already talking to another teen she just met, from the DIS board who lives very close to us. We plan to be back at the Hyatt around 9:00 Friday, but Ali's flight does not get in until 10:30. The Hyatt has a coffee shop that I know is open late, and there is also a Starbucks right down outside the lobby. Let me know.

Well, we are out the door for an interview in Boston! Thank god at least it is sunny for our long drive.

I'll book Palo for 10:30 Monday (11:30 if I can pick a time).

I'm guessing we will be back at the Hyatt no later than 9:30. Epcot closes at 9:00(won't be staying for fireworks, been there done that) & Magic Kingdom closes at 8:00(may swing over on monorail). I'll PM you my cell phone #, definately would like to meet up Fri night.

As far as a DIS meet on board lets go for the sailaway party, I'm assuming everyone will be going anyway. I'll search the boards for times and places that seem to be popular then post them here so we can all decide.

Getting really excited.:hyper:

Went through my closet and now have a pile of possible clothes, have to pick 1/3 of it now.

Hi everyone:wave:

Long drive to Boston and back! We were late to the interview (we got lost), but they understood, and gave her time anyway. Next stop, Tallahassee on the 4th! I'll be glad when this is all over, then we sit and watch the mailbox until April!

Lynn, I pm'd you my cell #. Anyone else staying at the Hyatt on Friday night is welcome to join us. Ursula, I remember you all were going to stay there. Let us know. The kids will all know someone before entering the clubs.

Palo anytime sounds great! That is so cool that you get to pre-book a seating. Thank you Lynn! The only "ressie rush" I will need to do is the spa. I arranged a $200 shipboard credit on my last cruise for this one, so what better way to spend it. Of course we will have to get the unlimited internet package so DD can keep in touch with her boyfriend.

Jeffrey, I received the bubble tumblers today! Thank you so much! Your and your families generosity has gone over and above. I can't wait to blow bubbles at the sailaway party! (I realize they are for the kids, but hey, why not?) LOL

Jeffrey, Thank You very much for the Bubbles. They arrived today. We think that your creativity is only exceeded by your kindness !!!

Now the only question, Will the kids get to play with them, or will the bigger kids (Adults) keep them LOL !!!!

Many Thanks for the Buttons and the Bubbles !!!

Looking forward to seeing all of you 2 weeks from today.

Hi Everyone

Thank you all for the kind words.

We had a hectic week (not compared to college hunting, though) preparing for our sons 12th birthday party. Now that we survived that we are really ready to start thinking about packing for the cruise. The clothing part is easy, its the other things that I stress out about. You can always buy or live without a piece of clothing, but if the correct chargers, etc. don't make it to the cruise, I wil not be a happy camper or cruiser.

Lynn - Thanks for the navigator link. We are going with 2 other non-DIS families who have never been on a Disney cruise and it will help them get an accurate idea of what to expect .

See you all soon

Jeffrey and Family

I received our buttons today and we just love them!! Thanks so much for making them for us!!! Your family is so awesome!! My grandmother insisted on putting hers on today on and all she talks is about our upcoming vacation. We fly out in 10 days and in 12 we will all be sailing away. Maybe we will see you at the Sail away party. We will be the ones with the cool bubbles and nifty buttons. :>

Thanks again,

Laura,
all my Dkids are 12 1/2 and up.

Getting ready for another storm here in Connecticut, enough already, just hope the weather cooperates next Friday.

At least all the clothes I've put aside for the cruise aren't being used. My kids like wearing their short sleeved tops in the winter, I've put them aside so they can't get to them.

Robin,
When are you and Aimee going on your next college visit? Hope you make it out okay.(oops-just saw your post-have a safe trip back Sat.)

Anyone here up for a casual gathering just to say hi and meet during the sail away party? I'll be on deck 10, but since I've never been on a Disney Cruise before I am unsure of the layout of the deck. Do any past cruisers have any ideas?

Is everyone getting ready?

We are in the single digits:hyper:

Oh yeah, I got tagged yesterday!:teeth:

Welcome to the group!

I will be traveling with my 3 kids, DD17, DS14 & DD12.

There seems to be a few girls in the DD11-13 age range so far in this group. If your DD11 would like to talk to anyone beforehand PM me, I'll send you my DD12's screen name. Also, if you read this thread you'll find the others.

Lucky you doesn't have to worry about the weather next week. We are in the middle of another storm here in Connecticut and I am watching the forcast for next week, good thing we fly out a day early.

You’re right Lynn, weather shouldn’t be a problem for us to get to the port, it’s in the low 80’s here today. But I have to fly to Kansas City on Monday, and then back on Wednesday. I'm not expecting anything near the 80's in KC, and I don’t have any heavy coats. But that’s okay because when I get home I pack for the cruise.

I still haven’t read the whole thread, is there a DISmeet planned?

DMOMof3 just made me aware of this thread from something I posted over on the cruise forum. We can't wait!!! Myself (Sue), DH , DS9 and DD5 will be flying down next Friday and staying at the new RonJon resort for the night before the cruise. Then onto the Magic...can't wait - my kids have endured my husband's job change and subsequent relocation to 2 hours from our former home between XMas and New Year's. New house, new schools - they deserve this cruise (not to mention Mom!). If there are any boys in the 8/9 group, I'd love my son to email a "buddy" before the cruise. This worked out great when we went 2 years ago. If not, I know he'll have a blast in the clubs like last time. I can't believe the countdown is at 7...

I havent had time to get on the boards since I posted last month- Cant believe we leave next friday!! in answer to your question we have done the 7 day eastern and the 4 night too. I just finished booking our last planned excursion for this cruise. We found a cool Pirate Cruise to do in Grand Cayman and we are going to do Sting Ray City too. I think wwe will do Chankanaab on our own in Cozumel and we have planned the DCl excursion to sail and snorkel in Key West but I am tempted to change it to the Catamaran racing just for something different. Any advice anyone? our kids are 7 and 6.pirate:

Hi everyone!

We just got back about an hour ago from Tallahassee, and it is amazing how many emails one gets while away! One of the emails was from Dreams Unlimited...........and we got an upgrade! I'm not too sure if I am excited about it or not. We have always for the last 3 cruises had a navigators veranda on deck 7 aft. This is a catagory 7 room, and we now will be in a catagory 5 room 7544 which is right by the midship elevators. What does everyone think about it? It will be nice to have the full veranda, but I love the aft location. Any comments?

I am so excited that my countdown is down to 6 days! It was wonderful to be in Florida the last 3 days. To see all the students at the college walk around in shorts and sandals was great to see in February. My DD is completely sold on this college (thank god!) she has already been accepted, now we need to wait on the results of the portfolio interview to see if she gets into the school of theatre. Time will tell, and hopefully it will be positive:sunny:

Lynn, most of the activity for the sailaway is on deck 9 midship by the stage. It gets really crowded, as does the area around it on deck 10. I also like to be on deck 10 forward in front of the sports deck(depending on weather) The best place I guess to meet would be by either of the whirpools behind Pinnochio's Pizza at the far end of the stage. Or directly above that on the overlook in front of the aft funnel. Just let me know, and I will be there:teeth: Does champagne sound good to anyone if I can get FL Tours to do the grocery stop for me? Also, I hope the room number change will not affect the Palo brunch reservation? Oh and congratulations on your tag. I have been on the board since 2000, and am still waiting. What is your secret?

Welcome DanJulia and Magic Fan Bruce! Jeffrey, yes too bad you won't be able to attend the meeting in New York. But, going on the cruise is better any day!

The forecast for the New York area for our flight on Friday is partly cloudy, however Orlando is scattered showers. Saturday for our sailaway looks good! Near 70 degrees! :Pinkbounc

Time to finally start packing!

Hi Robin

Or should I say hi neighbor. We booked the stateroom you were upgraded to for a friend who was not able to sail because of the possibilites of a new job. Our group has the 3 staterooms next to you, 7538, 7540 (ours) and 7542. We love that area of the ship. Two years ago we were directly across in 7040 but wanted to try the other view. Its nice being in the middle near the elevators (or the stairs if you want to get some excercise).

And yes I decided to pass up the focus group in favor of the cruise, (only because all of my toys are all dated already).

Hi neighbor!

Thanks for the positive input on the location. I guess I'm just used to "my" stateroom and the location. But it will be very nice to have the full view veranda. The aft location is so nice just to walk up 2 flights of stairs, and there you are at the beverage station for early morning coffee. (guess I will either walk a little farther, or utilize room service:rolleyes: )

Can't wait to thank you in person! I'll be the one wearing all the buttons and pins around my neck:teeth:

Glad Aimee liked FL, how exciting, more trips to FL for you. My Suzy was interested in UofMiami but decided she liked Maine better, go figure, must be my Canadian blood! oh well, will have to wait till she's a dolphin trainer at Sea World to enjoy visiting her! Maine isn't that bad, was nice when she spent time there this summer, can't forget to buy her a real parka.

Anyone want to join us during the sailaway party for a little get together? Would be nice to be able to recognize some friendly faces during the cruise, also the kids that have been chatting can meet. In front of the aft funnel on the overlook sounds great to me, nice big landmark! Robin, I'm assuming that's on deck 10.

I'll be the one with the DIS buttons and the goofy grin!

Robin, as far as the tags go, I reponded to a post about how the tag fairy doesn't like begging. I just responded by saying how I was just so happy to be cruising on the Magic in a week that a tag wasn't necessary, and minutes later I was tagged! Just made it that more special. Thought I would check in with you fellow Feb 14 Magic cruisers since I haven't been on this bouard in a few weeks. This is our first Dis cruise... we have DD's age 7,4,2.Will also be at the Radisson Fri nite.

Couple questions for you Dis veterans... our youngest daughter will be 3 in May, is she likely to enjoy the "Nursery" since she'll be one of the oldest children there? DCL told us no way she can get into OC. We obvoiusly want her to have as much fun as the other two.

Also, we have LOTS of electronics with us (Gameboys, video camera, etc)... do they have enough outlets or should we bring extension cords?

Look forward to meeting all of you...

:jester:

Magic_Fan_Bruce
02-08-2004, 10:29 PM
I can't say much about the nursery because our girls have been too old for it. But the "Lab" and the "Club" are loved by some kids, and are just "okay" with others. My kids are in the latter group. They like the Lab, but with so much to do on the ship, they just go for about an hour each day.

As for the outlets: If you want to plug in more than two things at once, bring the extension cord with multiple outlets.

FYI for ALL: Weather.com is predicting the temps in the mid-60's for our "Sailaway Party", a little cool, but nice!

Hi everyone

I'm glad the hats are a hit. My family can't take all the credit. We had help. A co-worker made and attached the ears. Two years ago for the Presidents Week Magic, I made the ears out of black vinyl looseleef books. The ears were velcroed on, but it did not look realistic. My children are much happier with these ears (but my DS12 is claiming he will only wear his hat for the welcome picture).

Hi Carol

You must have the magic touch. I have been emailing and calling the Jolly Roger on and off for the past year. Today when I called the person answering the phone still did not know about a Tuesday cruise, but when I insisted, someone else came on the line and said yes (they even knew your name). So I will be going Tuesday morning with my DS12 and DD7 and 2 of our friends children.

If anyone else with young children is looking for something easy and reasonably priced to do at Grand Cayman visit the Pirate Web site www.jollyrogercayman.com or call them at 345 945-7245

The ship sails at about 10AM within walking distance of the pier (you take a big raft to the ship) and it lasts about 2 hours. The "Pirates" put on a cute little skit and they let you jump off the ship into the water if you want. You can usually see the cruise ship from the Pirate Ship. My son and I have gone twice (it was a Celebrity Cruise shore excursion) and we both thought it was fun.

Jeffrey

If we weren't doing the horseback riding on the beach, that pirate cruise looks fun.

When I told Aimee about the rainy forecast, she was not at all happy.

Friday in Orlando looks good, only partly cloudy high 72 low 52. I'm sure I will bring a light jacket with me to downtown Disney just in case.

Saturday is only scattered thunder storms and 67, so hopefully our sail away will not be rained on:(

Key West 73 and showers, Grand Cayman 86 and partly cloudy, Cozumel 73 and scattered showers.

Hopefully as the day gets closer, this will all change. However at least here we have had more rain/snow than normal.

Two more days and it's off to the airport:sunny: Time to get back to the packing. Too bad I have to work to pay for this, that would make less stress, and more time to pack!

My daughter Jennifer is 8, and may be interested in meeting some new friends (sometimes she is, and sometimes she isn't). We'll try to be at the DisMeet during the sailaway party.

Weather here was in the 80's today, partly cloudy.

I don't know if anyone is still reading our thread, but a rocket launch is scheduled for Saturday, with the window starting at 1:21pm and closing 5:20pm. It's a Titan IVB which is the largest rocket the US has. I normally wouldn't go to get on board until after 2pm, but deck 9 or 10 aft is one of the best places on earth to watch rockets launch, and I'll be there!!!

Hi Bruce

Thats exciting news. How do we find out while we are on the ship what the countdown is up to?

We would love to see the launch, we never have been nearby when anything was launched.

See you there!

I know countdowns are normally broadcast on AM radio. I'm not sure what station. But I'm not going to have a radio with me anyway. The countdown usally is set for the opening of the launch window. So if no holds occur, it should take-off at 1:21pm.

I'm just going to hang aroung deck 9 or 10 aft and hope for the best.

Hi Bruce

I will have a radio along. Hopefully I can find the correct station.
See you all on the ship.

Thank You for the photos!

Sail Away was delayed because of a large group on a late flight.

Sail Away was wet so the party was indoors:(

Had a great first day, weather partly cloudy at Key West,

tomorrow it's supposed to be 90 and sunny for our day at sea.

Having a great time so far!

Well the cruise was great, even though the weather was not. Enjoyed meeting many of you, and hope everyones trip home was safe.

We, like alot of others, booked another cruise onboard. We are going to try Presidents week next year, that time of year works well for us.

Best to All

Verandah Man, thanks so much for posting the web cam pictures!! I had my dad sitting watching the two palms cam at 5. He called and said that they saw us, but I was sure we hadn’t left yet but he said that he was seeing us right then so I went out to the deck to check and realized that we hadn’t even left the dock yet. So he had a picture of a different ship. I found out later that we left late. My dad had given up by then because he said it was too foggy.

The cruise was a lot of fun. My grandmother loved it and I was glad that she was had so much fun. The week went very quickly and it was Friday night before I knew it. Maybe next time we will have to do back to back cruises:> Just kidding. I think that I would be too tired, but it took several days to figure out the layout and feel at home on the ship.

We spent an extra week driving around Florida so I just got home yesterday and am still in the middle of unpacking and doing laundry. I plan to post a trip report soon and am looking forward to reading more reports from other people on our cruise. I only ran into a few people from here and usually just by accident. It was sad that the Sail Away was party was indoors. We were only there a minute. It was very crowded and hard to find a good spot with the wheelchair since we got there late. I did see people with their hats on. People loved the awesome hats that Jeffrey and his family made. Everyone kept asking where we got them. Thanks again. They are going to be a great souvenir from our awesome trip.
