We depart on Sept 6 on the Disney Magic and booked an inside standard room. We were notified that we got a free upgrade to a room with a view. Is this a room with a porthole to see out of? I could not find any rooms other than the inside room, room with balcony or room with veranda. Further is it worth it to get a room with veranda or balcony in the future. It is nearly 2,000 more for these rooms, and it really has to be MUCH nicer to justify this cost.

Welcome to the DIS, orangele! :)

Do you know what category you were upgraded to? If it was Category 8 or 9 that is an Ocean View room with a LARGE porthole window. If it is Category 5, 6, or 7, those are rooms with verandahs.

It's a matter of personal choice on the room type; see how much time you spend in your room on this cruise and you'll know if the window or verandah is worth it to you. Personally I LOVE having a verandah as I do spend a fair amount of time there, but other folks are perfectly happy with inside rooms.

Enjoy your cruise and your upgrade! :)

Welcome to the DISboards, Orangele!!!

Do let us know your cabin #, so we can let you know if its oceanview or Verandah.

There is a thread with all the Sept. 6th cruisers, why don't you post on it and introduce yourself, I'm sure they are having a DISmeet if you are interested.
