i LOVE universal orlando, i've been on every ride there - except the hulk and dueling dragons because i was always too scared. I'm thinking of doing one of them on my next trip in december. would they be too intense for me if the only looping coaster i've been on is the very small scorpion as busch gardens tampa? which would better for me? and is the ice dragon really less intense then the fire?

Yes, Ice is a bit less intense than fire. I would think it might be easier for you to handle the Hulk than DD. At least in the Hulk you're feet aren't dangling!

I found Dueling Dragons to be a little more intense than the Hulk. Nothing to be afraid about. They are both great rides. I did the Hulk so many times that we actually new where the camera was on the ride and posed for the picture. Also, I really feel safe riding the rides at Universal. Every morning I saw them testing the Hulk through my hotel window. I don't know how many times they ran the Hulk for test run, but it went on for awhile.

In one of the middle row, middle seat. Remember: the ride is almost over once you do the corkscrew!

The Hulk "launch" is great, but the rest of the ride is rather tame. DD is great start to finish.
One of the big differences between Fire and Ice is the finish. Fire has a better ending. It rolls(?)/dives into the brake run whereas Ice gently rolls up to the brake run.

I agree, the Hulk seems a bit calmer because your feet are enclosed. It felt longer for some reason, too! They are both good rides but I vote for the Hulk!

Actually, DD is 10 seconds longer than Hulk but Hulk is launched so you miss that lift time!!!

I took my cousin last month to Islands of Adventure. She had never been to a themepark...and NEVER on a rollercoaster...not even one like Scorpian at Busch Gardens ( which was my very first rollercoaster BTW :) )!

I first took her on the Hulk rollercoaster and she LOVED it. I agree it's less intense than Dueling Dragons.

Later that day I took her on Dueling Dragons...front row of the Fire Dragon. It was the most intense ride on a coaster that I could remember. She ended up telling me that it was at least 10 times better than the Hulk coaster.

So, based on that, try The Hulk first, then Ice Dragon and then Fire Dragon...but save the front row of Fire Dragon (or possibly even Ice Dragon...which I haven't tried yet) for last because there's nothing in front of you, therefore, you really get the feel of the near collisions.

Hope you have fun and let us know how you fared!! :)
