Minivans "sold out" at National!?!?!

I was trying for a better rate for 6/23-7/1, and I got a message that National is "sold out of minivans for that time period, and please choose another car class"!

I already have a minivan reserved at this time thank God, but, man, was I shocked! Has anyone ever heard of this happening??

Should I be nervous about getting a minivan??? We have 7 people, and can't get any other car class??

If you have a reservation will they give your car away? Like that Seinfeld episode with the rental car. I also have a van rented for 7 people w/ Dollar. We arive at 8:43 am.

I have seen this happen a few times. I just try at a different time & voila there a cars available. People cancel & change reservations all the time. As long as you have a confirmation I would think you would be all set.

Actually, a reservation is not an absolute guarantee. Rental car companies overbook just like the airlines and hotels.

if you go and your car size that you held a ressie for is not available they go to the next class of vehicle. they go up not down. and I have gone to rent a car and they have been completely sold out of all classes of cars and the car rental company had already taken the time to rent a car for me at the same price from another agency. That Seinfeld episode was funny! I loved it!
