Be sure to post as soon as you get your documents. Who's going to get them first?

06-01-2004, 09:54 AM
Just booked our shore excursion -- we're doing the 5-Star St. John Snorkel and Beach Adventure. Anyone else?

BTW, we're PLA main dining. Any other 10/11 yo girls?

Yippee, we can now say, "we're cruising next month!"

06-01-2004, 10:14 AM
We are still thinking about excursions. My 15 year old and I want to get scuba certified so we can go diving. Hy husband is doing The sailing. My 18 year old and his girlfriend are doing the Kayak.

I guess we need to decide soon. I am so excited that it is next month. We need to do some shopping!!!

06-04-2004, 05:53 PM
Our family hasn't decided on what excursions yet...any suggestions??
Anyway we are sooo excited and i hope we get our documents soon! And i hope there are more people...there will be but not everyone knows about this board...anyway have a fantastic summer!!
Crusin' next month!!!

06-05-2004, 09:28 PM
We are going to do the catamaran on st thomas and possibly the dolphin adventure. I cant believe it is getting so close.
Staying at the Radisson the night before and meeting the other part of our party there from the west coast.
We also have main dining but I dont know the rotation yet. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Starting to get worried about what clothes to pack....
The next few weeks will be very busy..............

06-06-2004, 10:56 PM
DH and I will cruising with 3 other couples on this cruise. All adults NO KIDS!!! WHOO HOo!!

We will be celebrating many things, DH's 40th, another couple's anniversary, another's graduation with his Masters, uh..another anniversary.... birthdays...we will celebrate *something* every night! ;) We will have late seating at dinner. You *will* know us, we will be making a rather grand appearance at dinner every night!  pirate: ;)

06-07-2004, 01:51 AM
That is so exciting! LOL Have a fabulous time celebrating something different every night. By the way that is so random and souns like loads of fun!!!

06-08-2004, 03:49 PM
Hello Fellow Dis'ers and Fellow Cruise Friends,

DS(13) and I just booked our last minute cruise with all of you. We are so excited. We have cruised many times (over12) on various lines but never on DCL. We have had some personal tragedy over the last 4 weeks and are trying to sort things out. We think a DCL cruise is just the thing. DH says 'Hooray' and is happily staying behind to take care of the 4 cats & 3 dogs. Of course, DH, has a DisneyPhobia and wouldn't come no matter what!

Anyway, we are in a Cat 6. Anxious to meet you all. We have been to both St. Thomas and St. Johns many times - stayed at Caneel Bay - the waters are just amazing! So many turtles in addition to all the incredible fish!

We could not get the Radisson so are going for the MCO Hyatt.
Hope to meet many of you soon - DS hopes to meet all teens at Common Grounds.

06-15-2004, 10:35 AM
Hey good to finally find you guys!! We are 2nd timers...last year for a 4-day... We have 2 girls... 6 and 15... can't wait.. will also be taking my parents... not only 1st time cruisers, but also 1st time travellers!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!

By the way...from Maryland, near D.C.

06-15-2004, 11:41 AM
Hey guys, this is Ann-e-mator's daughter. I'm 15 - I'll be 16 in October. I'm going on the cruise and I can't wait! I'd love to get in touch with any teens before I go. You can email me at blinkfan198@hotmail.com or on AIM: DitzyBlonde3300

Can't wait to see you all!

06-15-2004, 11:45 AM
Welcome to the Group!

Anyone interested in a meet, please email me. I'll be happy to arrange something. We leave on July 20, so I'll need to plan it before then.

06-15-2004, 04:58 PM
couldn't help but notice you sailed the 4 day in a hurricane... what was that like? Did it ruin your trip to the islands? Give details....

06-16-2004, 06:47 PM
Hello Everyone!!!

We are one of the 3 other couples that khakismom is going with. This will be our first Disney as well as first cruise ever. We are so excited we can't wait. Keep us in your prayers though...we are moving from North Carolina to Georgia the weekend before we go on the cruise. Boy are we ever going to need it!!!!! Hope we get to meet some of you.

Beth & Tony

06-16-2004, 09:57 PM
Hey this is Erin I'm LIslander's daughter email me if any other teens want to talk before the cruise i'm 14 and want to meet people before the cruise

email me at: lildanzagrl@aol.com

06-18-2004, 12:43 AM
Well based upon the response from this forum, it appears that the ship is going to be rather empty. And if that is the case, we will all have lots of fun having the ship to ourselves.

But I don't think that will be the case! There are probably a lot of people that do not know about this forum!!!

06-18-2004, 01:22 AM
According to Disney operator, as of June 17th, ship is at full capacity... no vacancies.... I guess they just don't know about us...!

06-19-2004, 07:57 AM
Why don't we all plan a DIS Meet? Since this is our first cruise, do any veterans have ideas when the best time to meet would be?

Going on her Honeymoon -- July 24

06-19-2004, 10:40 AM
Our family, me, hubby and 2 girls (6 and 15) are also going on the St. John's tour!!! Has anyone else done that excursion before? I am an amateur photographer and want to get some good pictures....

Also, mountain biking in St. Maarten...(I have lost 75 pounds in 5 years and have become addicted to biking...!) Maybe the biking will help (a little) to counteract the effects of all those buffets!!! LOL

See you all very soon...!

06-22-2004, 11:45 AM

06-23-2004, 04:58 PM
Hey Guys...

Got my cruise docs today in the mail!!!! It's beginning to look a lot like Disney!!!!!

Getting close....and sooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!

Who else has gotten their docs?

Anne:wave:  :earsboy: :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :hyper: :sunny: :wave2:

06-23-2004, 05:08 PM
Some of ours have arrived. One cabin is booked through DVC so who knows when we will get those. I also have a 15 year old. His aol sign in is bigpat2388. He can chat with your daughter before hand. We are all excited. I have to make some changes to our excursions. We never found the time to get scuba certified so it's snorkeling for us.

Is any one staying at the Radisson the night before?

Can't wait to meet every one.

06-24-2004, 05:41 AM
My husband and I are staying at the Radisson the night before. We are driving down from the Philadelphia area. Can't wait for this trip.

06-24-2004, 08:50 AM
We will also be at the Radisson. No docs yet though.
Would be neat to try to have a meet. It is my first cruise and I dont know how those things happen but I know anything can happen.
Anyone interested?

Hello Everyone!

In 4 short weeks we'll all be heading to the Port. I've scrolled through our thread and have made a list of everyone cruising. If I haven't included you, please add your name below. Add more information if you want.

I was thinking about a meet on Saturday at 3:15 at the Goofy pool. I asked for reccomendations and that was the reply I received. If anyone else has a suggestion let me know.

Here goes (there were kids listed by themselves, I'm not including them in the list

LIslander (Laura)
JOANNEL (Joanne)
AngieRL (honeymooners)
tinksmom (Tenya) -- cruising with DH and 10 yo DD -- our 3rd cruise, staying on Deck 6; early seating for dinner; driving in from Vero Beach
MamaQuack (Becky)

See you all soon,
Tenya tinkerbellesmom@sbcglobal.net

06-26-2004, 12:37 PM
Sounds great!!!!

MamaQuack (Becky) cruising with ds(13)Taylor and also staying on deck 6 - late dinner seating

06-26-2004, 05:51 PM
Sound great! Well, count on Russell and Angie, the honeymooners, staying on Deck 2 with late seating. We are staying at the Radison the night before.

06-27-2004, 11:12 AM
You got it!! See ya at 3:15 at the Goofy pool.
Laura, DH Bob, And DD's ERin(14) and Colleen(11) will be there!!
Perhaps Ill bring my extended family along. There are 15 of us in all! We will be on deck 6 with early seating.
Going today for some essential supplies to put away.
No docs yet. Anxiously awaiting those!

Anyone else going?

06-27-2004, 11:16 AM
I'm a Lindsay too! We're going on the Magic on July 24th. I'm 9 and my sister is 5. Anyone in our age range going? :wave2:

06-27-2004, 07:08 PM
3:15 at the goofy pool sounds great. For all you at the Radisson I am sure we will be out at the pool the night before. Look for a group with lots of boys and the moms with Pina Colada's in hand. The diet will officially be over on the 23rd!!!!!! Don't forget to put your bathing suits in your carry ons if the kids want to swim before the luggage arrives.

We are also on deck six with late dinner. I have begun a little of my shopping.

Water camera's
sunscreen & after sun lotion
camera batteries
misc pain & cold pills much chaeper at walmart than on the ship.
Zip locks.

Any other suggestions?

See every one soon.

06-27-2004, 08:27 PM
don't forget the over-the-door shoe holder
if you plan on doing laundry -- detergent tablets, dryer sheets and quarters

Anyone in the vacinity of 6081? If you're early dining and know your rotation we're PLAPLAP

06-27-2004, 09:36 PM
This is joannel's son and its not that we dont like hanging out with our parents but i still think the teens should have a different meet. I was thinkin at 315 when our parents are getting to know each other that we should meet down by the ice cream place, scoops i think its called.

If you have any other suggestions just speak up.

I also have a question does anyone know what time that fire drill thing is?

06-27-2004, 11:16 PM
Hey Pat,

It's Nicki's mom... the boat drill is at 4 pm... also, I think the idea of a teen meet is cool, but I think the parents would kinda like to meet everyone first...even if only for a few minutes...

What are others thoughts...?

06-28-2004, 02:25 AM
I love the idea off a teen meet...it gives us a face to put with who we are talking to! Can't wait:tongue:
And then once everyone is greeted and happy we can hang out at the sail away party. I cant wait cuz the last time we went it raind so it was inside. Anyway keep throwing out ideas!

06-28-2004, 09:11 AM
You guys are awesome. The idea of teen meet is great! Since Carly falls into the preteen category, she'll have to hang with the parents. But maybe the kids Lab-age and younger can hang out in the pool together after we've all met.
I love the idea of meeting up for the Sail-a-way party. We've never gone to it and are planning to this year.
A month from today we'll be in St. Thomas, yahoo :bounce:

06-28-2004, 05:17 PM
tinksmom...DH and I are doing the 5 star at St. Thomas/St. John as well. We did the St. John island tour last time, and decided that trunk bay was so beautiful, we just had to go back!

06-28-2004, 05:29 PM
I agree, Kelley. St. John is beautiful. We went to Cinnamon Bay on our own three years ago and fell in love with it. A month from today we'll be there! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

06-29-2004, 03:22 PM

we are 6090 - how did you find out your rotation? we are late seating

can't drink pina coladas - will margaritas do????
(note to Patrick: ds(13) thinks you have a good idea)

06-29-2004, 04:13 PM
Becky, We were able to request rotation with the REAS package. We're not really in 6081. I posted the wrong number. We're actually in 6084, so you're just a few doors down from us. Tenya

06-29-2004, 04:31 PM
any thing with Alcohol will do.......................

06-29-2004, 08:32 PM
Anybody staying at RON JONS the night before??? The meet at Goofys Pool sounds great!! Anybody with special needs kids??? Would love to talk!!! This will be my sons third cruise.

Count us in on that as well. Doing the Under 2 Flags Tour along with parasailing on CC.

Can't wait. Had to call yesterday. Glad I checked my reservation paperwork. I put down my parents' anniversary date for my husband's birthday. They are only 2 days apart and I am always doing that. UGH! Glad I caught it in time though.

We have all our docs. The ones from DVC just came Tuesday. So we are realdy to go.

Have a good one.

07-01-2004, 12:00 PM
Our daughter Corie is 6 and she will be spending a lot of time in the Oceaneer's club, so maybe she will get to play with your sister who is 5...

07-01-2004, 01:42 PM
Daughter (buginarug) calls me at work and let's me know that the docs arrived this morning. Even though they are addressed to me, she could not wait until I got home to open them...she had to see and touch them.

Not to much longer now! Need to start putting list together of things to buy and pack.

07-01-2004, 09:52 PM
Got my docs from costco today, still waiting for my dvc docs.

It feels so real now to have those precious books in hand!!::MinnieMo :wave2: ::MickeyMo :wave2:

My heart is getting lighter by the day.

Happy and safe 4th celebrations to all!!

07-02-2004, 07:43 AM
Our 5 year old is Amanda. It's her first cruise, and she was happy to know that there really will be other kids her age on the ship and that she can apply a name to at least one of them :-)

We're from Atlanta. How about you guys?

07-02-2004, 08:03 AM

We've never been to Vero. I'm looking forward to having those few days to unwind. I've read it's beautiful ... Honestly, if it weren't for the cruise, I'm doubt we'd stay there.

No docs yet, maybe I'll call Allseas today ....

Anyone with a 5yo boy?

07-02-2004, 09:29 AM
While getting ready to go for a dress fitting for my wedding dress, UPS rings the doorbell. Our DOCS are here!

I can't wait for this cruise.

07-02-2004, 11:16 AM

I've sent you an email.

Atlanta girl too!

MamaQuack (Becky)

07-02-2004, 11:20 AM
justcruisin (diana),

we are staying at the Hyatt also - and, doing Doubloon - planning on 3:15 meet too! can't believe we are so close now!!!

07-02-2004, 01:39 PM
MammaQuack (Becky)-

Hey! DH and I are doing the Dubloon cruise too! We live in Suwanee up in Gwinnett county northeast of Atlanta; close to Lake Lanier

We will probably be at the 3:15 cruise meet too with the other 3 couples we are traveling with. We will be hard to miss - 8 adults acting like kids! :teeth: Two of the other couples live in Gwinnett County too and the other live in the South Forsyth/Alpharetta area. I know they are doing the 2 flags tours and other island tours.

I'm sooo excited!! Gotta go to the alterators next week and have my gown hemmed, among other things. We got DH's tux rented, so we pick that up Thursday night b4 the cruise. Except for those couple things and packing, all I have to do is sit around and be VERY excited!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :thewave: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

22 days and counting
:thewave: :thewave:

07-02-2004, 01:53 PM

My 4th of July will be having dreams of the 24th!!

07-02-2004, 11:24 PM
You asked where we are from.... (Corie, age 6)...we are from Maryland, right near Washington D.C.

For anyone else who has little ones...someone else asked about 5 year old boys...I can tell you although Corie is a girl, she is VERY much a tom boy and will probably love playing with your son, too...

By the way, I was glad to see a lot of the teens hooking up before the cruise, but I also think, as parents, by sharing the names of the younger siblings on line, it will help them with first day jitters just by knowing some of the other kids' names... I've already told Corie about Amanda, and while she won't be able to talk to her until the cruise, we will be talking to her about the friends she WILL meet when she gets there...I think it can go a long way to lessen any anxiety the little ones might have.

So, how about hearing about the younger ones?

Like I said, I will begin.... we have Corie, age 6 from Maryland...

07-03-2004, 08:35 AM
We have a few in our group from 9-18.

Noah -9
Michael 11
Joel -14

The three youngerst are my neighbors, the two boys are mine and Christie is Scott girlfriend.

We also have some grandma's traveling too.

My mom 83 and my neighbors grandma I think she is in her late 80's.
So we cover a lot of age groups here.

Do you know what side of the Goofy pool?

Three weeks from today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

07-03-2004, 08:48 AM
I have Taylor, 13, he is an only child and thrilled that there will be so many teens on board and at the Stack. We are on deck 6 and have the late seating for dinner.

07-03-2004, 08:52 AM
Mama quack we are up early today. I am at work already. I do accounting for a resort management company and summer is our busy time.

We are also on deck 6 6544,6547,6545 with late seating.

07-03-2004, 09:30 AM

yes, we are up early!

we are in #6090 - wonder if its too late to try to sit together for dinner???? how do you think they will have your group seated?

it will just be me and Taylor since hubby proclaims he is allergic to all things Disney!!!

07-03-2004, 09:35 AM
you are more than welcome to sit with us. We are a group of 16 already so the more the merrier . Send me your email address and I will give you our res #'s I don't want to post them here.

07-03-2004, 09:40 AM
Thanks!!! How generous! 16 WOW, now that's a big group - are you sure we wouldn't be intruding? If not:

Can't wait to meet you. I'm finally getting excited despite the gloomy weather we have here today.

07-03-2004, 03:41 PM
Becky, It looks like you and your son are just a few doors down from us. We are in 6084.

As far as kids, we just have Carly age 10 (and very mature)!

Look forward to meeting you all in three weeks. I'll bring nametags!

07-03-2004, 09:48 PM

We look forward to meeting you too!!!! Joanne has been gracious enough to invite us to join them for dinner but when I spoke with the Disney folks today they were less than optimistic . . . . at least we have the 2nd seating and I was assured they would place us at a table near Joannel's group. What seating are you? Late? Again, Taylor and I look forward to meeting all of you. Bet Carly is counting the days!!!!

07-03-2004, 10:09 PM
Becky, that's great. Taylor will fit right in with all these boys. They really are a great bunch of kids. We moved in when Noah was one month old. So all five of these boys have been like brothers, Dana & I feel like we have shared the raising of all five.

Can't wait. Have started a little packing. I have a suit case on the floor and I throw in stuff as I buy it. So far I have camera's sunscreen, wrinkle releaser, ziplocks, shoe bag, night light and camera batteries.

We will be off and sailing in 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

07-04-2004, 06:53 AM
Happy 4th of July everyone!

Becky -- we're early seating, so won't being seeing what sounds like most of our dis group at dinner.

Laura -- don't y'all have early seating?

07-04-2004, 12:29 PM
Hey Tenya!!!
We are early seating . 11 of us who booked early are early and the other 4 are late seating. I hope this is not a problem but they are trying to get early seating when on the ship. Our group is My parents, 2 senior Disney lovers; myself, DH, and DD's 14, and 11; my sister and her DH and her DS's 12, and 9, and DD 6. My brother and his DW and 2 DD's 6, 2.5.
It sure seems far away even though in 3 short weeks we will be enjoying our first day at sea!! I am looking into putting the lime green tags on my door.
See ya at 3:15 on 7/24!!!!!:D

07-04-2004, 01:22 PM
Laura -- Do you know what deck or staterooms y'all are in? Also, where do you get the lime green tags? Tenya

07-04-2004, 11:43 PM
Hey it's Nicki. I was just wondering if there are any teens going on the Under 2 Flags Tour... I'm going alone... It would be kind of nice to have someone to hang with while I'm on it.

~Nicki:teeth:

07-05-2004, 07:50 AM
Hey Tenya
We are in 6034. My brother got one of the dreaded rooms to avoid on deck 7. I will post about his experience when we return. The rest of the party is close to me on deck 6.
The lime green tags are the paint chip samples you can pick up in Home Depot. It is samples of the Disney paint collection and the color is "Alien Green" There is an entire thread on it on the boards so you could do a search on it. They recommended putting them on your stateroom door to identify yourself as a DIS fanatic!!!
And, In case I forgot, most of my party will have early seating. I was interested to see that many of you are in late seating. Is this your choice by experience? Just wondering because I would really like for our entire party to eat together and perhaps we would have an easier time switching for late instead of the other way around. Any advice out there?
Less than 3 weeks to go!!

07-05-2004, 03:25 PM
Hi fellow cruisers,

We will be cruising with you on July 24, DD Jenn age 15, DD Colleen age 14. and DH. We will be coming in from NJ. Our friends are coming also.

This is our second disney cruise. We are going back to the parks after the crusise. We are late dinner seating.

Hope to meet you all by the pool.

07-05-2004, 04:58 PM
Hi cruisin JoAnnC,

what deck are you on? dsTaylor hope Jenn and Colleen will speak to a lowly 13 1/2 year old!!!

07-06-2004, 09:25 AM
My 2 teen sons will accompany us on the under 2 flags tour. Rob 17 and Justin 15.

Joann also from the jersey shore here , near point pl.

What may I ask are the horrible must avoid deck 7 rooms?

Now youve got me scared, I have 2 cabins on deck 7.

We are also late seating, booked early, picked late by preference because on our first trip we felt we had to rush back to get ready for dinner.

The clock is ticking!!!!

07-06-2004, 09:37 AM
Hey Stitch2,

My mom is going to love talking to you. She lived in Spring Lake for a few years. My uncle had a condo there also and we went to the "shore" a lot in those years.

I will be dating myself, but spent may a night at Jimmy Byrns !!!!

See ya soon.

07-06-2004, 10:09 AM

I was a teen, when all my older teen friends would go out to Jimmy Byrns all the time!!

But I was not yet 18 so I got left behind

Now Im makeing up for all the lost out on fun with the disney trips!!

Look forward to meeting everyone!!

07-06-2004, 05:17 PM
I believe that the only "room to avoid" is 7596 which is across from the laundry room. My brother was probably one of the last people to book a cabin so had a GTY rate and this is what he got. I am sure it will be fine... I dont think we plan on spending too much time in the room anyway. I am having mixed feeling about the dinner seating thing and am not sure what to do. We always felt eating at 8pm would be too late but you have a point about being rushed. We have 15 people in all so I am sure at this point it is what it is so I am sure we will be happy no matter what.
Hope to see you at the DIS meet.
Still awaiting those precious docs!!

07-06-2004, 05:34 PM

hope you get those docs soon- I know when ours arrived it really set the tone - "EXCITEMENT" . . . . anyway, just want you to know all 3 of our financial advisors live on Long Island - quite a joke here in the deep South around some folks!!!!!!!! no matter where any of us are from it is just so great to look forward to being with fellow Disney addicts! as far as your dinner seating, you will be fine either way - you will get adjusted and being with your large group will just make it all so special for you!

MamaQuack and Taylor looking forward to meeting you oh so soon!!!!!!

07-06-2004, 06:08 PM
Woo Hoo! Finally got the docs today. They actually got to my TAs office Friday-a-week-ago. She put them in express mail on Friday. Yippee, Yippee. Two weeks from right now we'll be relaxing at Vero Beach.

Can't wait to meet you all!

Laura-- I picked up the Disney paint samples at Home Depot yesterday. They are soooo cute.

07-06-2004, 06:24 PM
whew, I was worried about about some terrible deck 7 location that I had not heard about.

Tell your brother I will be very quiet when doing the laundry, not to worry!!:D

8pm always was kind of late for me to eat too, but then theres the rushing thing, so We will just grab some chicken strips at plutos in the late afternoon to tide us over.

Id be happy no matter what seating I got. Im just happy to be going no matter what!!:teeth:

I will walk around the goofy pool at was it 315 or 345??

Looking forward to seeing everyones happy faces, its nice chatting with fellow dis boarders, you learn so much.

07-06-2004, 06:41 PM
Meeting is at 3:15. By 3:45 we'll need to be heading to our rooms for life vests for the drill.

See you there!

07-06-2004, 08:32 PM
we'll be there at 315!! I cant wait!

Mamaquack.... I am sure I wont tell my financial advisor how much I spent on this cruise!!

CruisinJoannC...We have a DD Colleen also! She's 11.

See you all real soon

07-06-2004, 09:04 PM
We still don't have our docs yet. I'm getting impatient.

We are in 7505, which is an adjoining room. I heard that sometimes you can hear the people in the other room. At least were not by the laundry room.

We are driving from Kansas City to Orlando and spending some time at US and IOA. Not looking forward to the long drive, but maybe my excitement will make it go quicker. (probably not)
The drive home will be even worse, nothing to look forward to.

Can't wait to meet everyone.

07-06-2004, 11:16 PM
Hey this is Ann-e-mator's daughter... If you have nothing to look forward to while driving home just think of how when you get home you can show off your pictures and experiences to everyone back home who didn't go... That's gotta count for something on that trip home :teeth:

07-07-2004, 07:56 AM
 I WANT MY DOCS!!!!!!!

lemonpledge...I love that screen name...probably because once my sister sprayed lemonpledge on her clothes instead of spray starch!! We will be monitoring her in the laundry area!!

I agree with all of you... the end of the trip is always the worst. But all good things must come to an end ..... we can all dream of our next trip( If we are fortunate enough to do it all over again!)

07-07-2004, 07:16 PM
I just got an e-mail from All Seasons. They don't expect to receive our documents until Monday because of the new computer system. They said they will send them ASAP to us. I'm just wondering how long that will take since we are leaving the week before!

Still waiting patiently.

Oh, by the way, lemonpledge is name from Laverne and Shirley.
My college roommate said that they had code names -lemonpledge and starmonkey. So thats what we called each other.

07-07-2004, 08:48 PM

I received the same email!!!
Actually I called and spoke with Chuck at All Seas who told me that the Docs would be delayed due a problem with Disney but he assured me that I would receive them next week. I had called today with a "just wondering" call and found out all of this glorious information. I am sure they will be here early next week. I am waiting!!

07-08-2004, 08:24 AM
Has any one done the Eastern before? I was wonder do you know to and the cost of getting to Trunk Bay from the dock? And if they have snorkle equip there to rent or do we have to bring our own?

Thanks, 15 days and counting!!!!!

07-08-2004, 08:44 AM
Received the same email from allseas. It was nice they sent it. I find the way docs are sent by dcl to be strange ....

2 weeks and 1 day :Pinkbounc

Just started my pile-o-stuff to pack ....

07-08-2004, 09:01 AM
Joanne --
We've done the Eastern before and even went to Cinnamon Bay on our own. I don't remember the prices or details. It's been three years and I was having gall bladder problems and facing surgery two days after we got home.
We went with our dinner mates and split the cost. Caught a taxi at the pier to the other side of St. Thomas, then took the ferry. The taxi driver in St. Thomas arranged for a taxi to meet us at the dock in St. John. It was all very easy. I don't know about renting snorkle gear -- we took our own.
This year we're doing the 5 Star St. John trip.

07-08-2004, 09:09 AM
Thanks Tinks mom. I am really getting crazy about all this planning. I check these boards all day long. I really can't wait to relax. Work has been crazy so it will be so nice to be away from computers & phones for a week.

See ya soon.

07-08-2004, 09:30 AM

Here is a web site link to the st. john ferry

there are 2 ferries one at the pier, and one called red hook

red hook you need to take a taxi to but it is cheaper and faster.

I opted to do the disney sponsered tour, in the intrest of reducing stress. once i know the island a little better, I may opt to take the ferry myself next time.

you can save a bunch of money doing it on your own, and my friends who were first time cruisers did it on their own last april and had no problems.

whatever you decide good luck and happy planning

heres another useful general usvi link

07-08-2004, 11:52 AM

I am new to the boards but it took a few days to get registered becuase of aol issues. KathyTx finally got me straightened out.

Me, dd8, dd9. and dh are on the 24th July Magic and cant wait!
Third cruise for hubby and I, but first for kids and first Disney.
I don't know who is more excited, me or the kids!

We are on deck 6. Anyone got girls around 8-9 years old?

Spa Mama

07-08-2004, 12:07 PM
Welcome Spa Mama!!!

We too are on deck 6 - seems like a lot of us are! DS(13) and I are in 6090. Sorry not little girls. I'm sure they will make lots of friends in the club though.

Will you being joining us for the meet on Saturday?????

Looking forward to meeting you!

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

07-08-2004, 12:25 PM
I have a 9 year old dd making her first cruise as well. She's super excited about the trip - she can be a little shy up front, but once you know her, getting her to stop talking is a bit hard :-)

07-08-2004, 12:47 PM
Thanks! We are in 6106. What time ended up being decided on and where to meet? Just talked to my TA, docs are in and she is bringing them on Saturday to my house. (she is a good friend).
Yea!!! Not going to do the doc dance until they are in my hot little hands though!

My daughter has gone over the brochure a million times with a fine tooth comb, we will have to ask her for directions on where everything is! I am so glad I started reading the boards, got great ideas and also some neat tips to make it extra special for the kids. They are only this little once!

Spa Mama

07-08-2004, 12:50 PM
Bookgirl2 - my girls are shy at first too, but your right, once they feel comfortable, watch out!

07-08-2004, 01:04 PM
anyone have recommendations on what to do -excursion wise - with young kids -- mine are dd ages 5 and 9

helpful tips are greatly appreciated :-)

07-08-2004, 01:07 PM
We also have a nine year old with us. He is my neighbors son Noah. He is really a lot of fun and very sociable.

Have a good one.

07-08-2004, 01:58 PM
Welcome Spamama! We're practically neighbors -- just a few freeways away in south Arlington. We've got a 10yo DD. This is our third Disney cruise. Y'all will have an unbelieveable time. The original meet time was 3:15. But from reading other reports 3:00 might be better. Either way, we'll be at the Goofy pool.

07-08-2004, 03:15 PM
This being my first cruise and all, how are we going to know each other when we meet at the Goofy pool?

07-08-2004, 05:25 PM
I'm glad you brought that up Angie. I've been going over that in my mind. From reading other threads it seems groups have met a little earlier than 3:15 and usually in a more private venue. If we want to stay at the Goofy pool, I'll go by some lime green ribbon and tie it to my swim suit strap. That way everyone can just look for me. Also, we could decide to meet on a certain side of the pool -- port or starboard; at a table near the ice cream station or the drink station.

If we wanted to go some place smaller, we could try the Deck 7 aft deck. I read something today where the group was meeting in Preludes.

Where ever we meet, I'm thinking maybe we should move the time to 3:00. That will give us a little more time to chat before we have to head to the Lifeboat Drill.

What does everyone think?

PS Angie -- I'm sending loads of pixie dust for a wonderful wedding!

07-08-2004, 06:14 PM
I also have a little girl who is 8. Her name is caity and she is very outgoing. This will be her 5th cruise , her 4th disney cruise, so she will know the ropes. This will be her first time being in the lab instead of the oceaneers club.

Caity will be with us when we go snorkeling on trunk bay at st . john too. we did the disney excursion.

I think im at like 9days 12 hours now till we leave, I cannot wait , Im busting with excitement.

07-08-2004, 11:12 PM
We leave on Thursday before and plan on going to JFK Space Center on Friday. DD9 loves space stuff, couldnt be so close and not stop! Hope for a little beach time too.
Two weeks from today!

Spa Mama

07-09-2004, 01:05 PM
Hey, I have question - is it common to have insomnia two weeks from the cruise? TEE HEE :o I spent most of the day yesterday planning for the trip (trying on clothes, making lists, reading the boards, reading my new passporter) and I could not fall asleep last night until about 5am! Could not quit planning in my head!

07-09-2004, 01:31 PM
another way that I've noticed people identifying themselves is with the lime green disney paint chips from Home Depot. They sell an exclusive line of Disney paint, and the samples are in the shape of Mickey heads. I will probably pick up some of those for the 8 traveling in our party (Me and DH, Khakismum and her DH, and bkiss and her DH as well as another who lurks but doesn't post...luv ya Shawna!)

07-10-2004, 01:28 AM
Yea! The signatures are back! I was afraid I wouldnt get to use mine before we leave in two weeks!

Did we decide when and where to meet yet? I told Alex and Jessica about Caity and they are very excited. This is their first time so I think they are not sure what to expect!

No response yet on ideas for the meet. If there are no other suggestions, I'll be at the family pool at 3 p.m. My swimsuit is a black halter tankini with red flowers. I'll have a lime green ribbon tied around my ponytail. I'll also have nametags, so we can put names to faces.

KRhardy -- I've got the lime green Mickey paint samples from Home Depot. I plan on putting them on our cabin door.

I'll be the blonde, middle aged Mom with a margarita in my hand and a huge smile on my face!!!!!!

DS13-Taylor (he will be the one in cargo shorts wearing the cool blue sunglasses that I am forbidden to wear because I am a 'mom' - I'll just be wearing my own Costas)

Tinks Mom - can tell you are a Texan!

I was just re- reading all the posts, looks like we have quite a few girls in the 5-10 age range!

My TA still isnt here with the docs, trying not to stand by the door waiting!

07-10-2004, 08:02 PM
Lorri -- We have at least one 11 yo girl, too. Carly is looking forward to meeting her, as well as the younger girls. She gets along well with all ages and I know she will have a blast in the Lab with her new friends!

Didn't you say you are on Deck 6? What cabin? We're in 6084. What seating are y'all? We're main.

I can't believe we're in double digits from the first part of our vacation! YIPPEE!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Unfortunately, I don't get to go on this cruise but my parents are taking my kids. My parents aren't *on line* people and won't be at the meet; however, I'm sure my DD - Miranda, who will turn 13 during the cruise (July 29th) would be very interested in knowing if there are any girls in her age group going. I think she's going to be fairly fed up with her 9-year old brother half way through the week. Any girls in this age range???

07-10-2004, 10:56 PM
Alex is 9 but loves hanging out with the "older" girls! Jessica will have just turned 8 right before we leave.
We are in 6106, late seating.

Oh, and finally got my docs a few hours ago!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

07-10-2004, 11:08 PM

DS13 would welcome her - he is in no way "into" the whole dating scene but likes to have pals to hang out with or chat with. Will she be going to the teen club?

We are in 6090 - late dining.

07-10-2004, 11:48 PM
I'm the one in the red dress in the back of this pic...will be with a large group of very rowdy people all too excited to be away from our children :teeth:
we'll probalby have hats of some sort on....beware, you will know us when you see us, and you will not be able to miss us.
We ARE the people your parents warned you about!!
(for those of you parents out there, don't worry...we won't scar your children for life)
basically, we love life, we love having a good time, and we have a lot to be thankful for and to celebrate.

07-11-2004, 12:37 AM
You go girl!

07-11-2004, 11:48 PM
Where did everyone go??

Which excursions are everyone going on? We have not booked anything yet, I think we mostly will get a cab and do our own thing, but now hubby is thinking he may want to dive. So trying to figure that out now, which island, etc.

Jet ski tour looks cool on CC.

Less than 2 weeks!

:( STILL NO DOCS!!!!!!!:(

We are leaving in 11 days!!!! They better get here soon or I am going to have an anxiety attack!!

Trying to finish up last minute stuff that I need to cram in between work and all.

I was able to book the Jet ski tour over the phone!!!
Now only need to "rush" around for the Palo reservations!

Everyone is sooooooo excited!!
Looking foward to meeting you all!!!:wave2:

07-12-2004, 08:51 AM
Laura, I would be a nervous wreck right now if I didn't have my docs yet! Are you checking with your TA today? Sending loads of pixie dust your way for a "today" delivery!

Spa Mama, We're doing the 5 Star St. John Snorkle in St. Thomas and renting a Jeep Wrangler in St. Martin.

We leave a week from tomorrow!

07-12-2004, 03:52 PM
we are doing the Golden Eagle at St. Maarten, and the 5 star at St. Thomas/St. John...both morning excursions, as much as I dread the mornings...more time to shop! CC we are snorkeling/floating, and doing banana boats. A wonderful leisurly day for our 10th anniversary (CC is on our actual anniversary  )

07-12-2004, 03:55 PM
We too are doing the Goldern Eagle just the 1pm trip. In St Maarten we are doing the ST John beach & Snorkle it leaves at 7:40. And we have teen agers to wake up. Should be fun.

07-12-2004, 04:03 PM
We are doing the dolphin excursion in st. maarten and the champagne catamaran to st. john. I was able to book the jet ski tour for CC also!! I will need to remortgage my house to pay for the excursions alone. I was going to cancel at least one but everytime we talk about it we can't eliminate one!! Any DCL veterans want to give me some advice on this one?
We have main dining and are on the 6th deck. Looking foward to the meet. Tenya, is it still 3pm at the pool?
See you guys next week!!

07-12-2004, 05:19 PM
Hey this is Nicki...
My mom showed me this message someone had posted somewhere else about the teens drinking and making out in The Stack all the time. Considering how strict they were about that on the last Disney cruise I was on I find that TOTALLY hard to believe at all. I really don't see counselors letting kids get away with that in The Stack... But I mean I dont know, maybe I just had good counselors... Just wondering if anyone has heard anything, or what people believe...

12 more days!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :hyper:

07-12-2004, 07:17 PM
I know this is a little off topic, but I need some pixie dust tomorrow. I have an interview for a part-time job at the Disney Store here at Oxford Valley Mall, PA. I work full-time as a teacher but I am also helping to put my husband through law school. So, I need this second job.

So, please send some pixie dust this way.

07-12-2004, 08:14 PM
Good luck and how could they not give it to a disney lover.

07-12-2004, 08:21 PM
The meet is at 3 p.m. on the Port side of the Goofy pool. I'll have on lime green Mickey head flip flops and a lime green and daisy print ribbon around my brown pony tail. I'll also be the only nerd sitting their with a nametag on, until some of my wonderful Dis friends show up and put their nametags on! :smooth:

Laura -- Carly tried to email Colleen. Did she ever get it?

Angie -- tons of pixie dust for your job interview. Let us know how it goes.

See y'all soon!

07-13-2004, 08:43 AM
Hey, I'm trying to get my parents to join your meet. They are not DISers, but I am. So if you see a 60-something woman (Linda) and a 60-something man (with gray hair) (Guy) looking lost with a 12 year old girl (Miranda) and 9 year old boy (Evan), please say HI!! They are really nervous about my kids warming up to the kids clubs/activities on the cruise. It would be great if my kids could meet some others!

07-13-2004, 10:13 AM

Pixie dust sent your way - did ya feel it?

Your hubby is a lucky fella.

07-13-2004, 10:16 AM

I'll have on a lime green shirt unless our cabin is ready and then I will have put on a lime green swimsuit - either way, I will be carrying that lime green margarita and a big smile. And no (you do not/will not look nerdy). Thanks for making the name tags.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

07-13-2004, 02:18 PM
Well, things went well. I have a second interview on Thursday at 1:30. Please keep sending that Pixie Dust this way. But the manager did say that she can tell by the way a person asks for the application if they will work out or not and she said things look great for me. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Now on the cruise, for the DIS meet, look for someone in a Widener Law t-shirt. Either my husband or I or both, will wear ours.

Can't wait to meet you all.

07-13-2004, 03:16 PM
Way to go Angie! More pixie dust headed your way.

I can't believe a week from right now, we should be in Vero Beach, then it's just a few short days until we all cruise! Woo Hoo!

To quote my favorite Mouse, "see ya' real soon!":earsgirl:

Hey!!! Anyone have an early seating for dinner who'd prefer late seating? We booked more than 8 months ago, requesting early seating and were told we'd have it. Just found out from Disney that our travel agent booked all of their reservations for late seating.

I know there are advantages to both seatings, but early really does work better for my crew.

If you want to switch - let me know!!!::yes::

07-14-2004, 05:41 PM
It's almost here guys!!! Is everyone getting excited? Either that or stressed out with all the stuff that has to be done. lol...anyway can't wait to start relaxing on the ship!

07-14-2004, 05:58 PM
I'm so excited!!! My mom just had me bring out all my dresses so she could start getting them packed!! My suitcase is out!! Now I just need to plan out EVERY outfit! haha! So many clothes... totally not sure what to bring!!

CANT WAIT!!! :hyper: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We had a family tragedy in May and we need this soo bad!

07-15-2004, 11:31 AM

Finished the last minute shopping, and now I have to pack, work friday and sat, and then we are outa here.

Looking forward to seeing everyone onboard, Ill have my eyes open for all the lime green and I will try to be at the goofy pool at 3 to say hello,

(On a previous cruise someone in my family was just arriving at the time of the meet, so I did not make the dis meet, and I felt really bad, so Im just gonna say this time that barring any unforseen events I will go)

07-15-2004, 01:34 PM

07-15-2004, 09:23 PM
To all of you traveling next week. I hope everyone has a safe trip.
I look foward to the meet at the pool.
I think I won the award for latest DOCS! They came yesterday!!!! All I can say is thank goodness they finally came!! I dont think my blood pressure could have taken too much longer!!

So....On to getting last minute things and making sure all of the clothes are ready. Only a few more days of work until I am off!!!
Cant Wait!!!!!!

07-15-2004, 09:36 PM
WooHoo, Laura! I've been wondering if you ever got you docs.

Angie, how did the 2nd interview go?

Counting the days!

07-15-2004, 10:09 PM
I had the second interview this afternoon. Things went well. The manager was impressed with the amount of trips to WDW that I have made along with our honeymoon being a Disney Cruise. But now I need to decide if I want it. The reason being, I found out that it is only seasonal. That position only pays $6. I could get $8 at Target. Also, from Thanksgiving to Christmas I would have to work until 1am. That would be very tough when I have to deal with kindergarten and 1st grade students first thing in the morning, and I leave the house before 7am to make it to work.
I don't know what to do.

07-15-2004, 11:11 PM
Laura, I was going to ask you today if you got your docs yet!
Why the delay? I thought I was late getting mine!

07-16-2004, 12:14 AM
Hey guys,

the family went out today and picked up the paint chips from Home Depot...

Gotta tell you, we were jumping and screaming just picking up the darn things.... I'm sure no one in Home Depot knew what the heck was going on...

Imagine all that excitement over a few green paint chips...!!!

It was fun, though...more exciting then getting the docs!!!!

Anyone else feel that way????

See you in a week!!!

07-16-2004, 08:54 AM

Patrick is off with his youth group from Church. But I know he will be there.

07-16-2004, 08:57 AM
Angie -- You'd have to have a boat-load of energy to work until 1 a.m. and then leave at 7 a.m. to teach K and 1st all day! How long do you have to decide?

Anne -- DD and I looked like a couple of big Goofy grinning idiots when we got the paint chips. DH just went off looking for a light switch. He just isn't into Disney like we are. He's a good sport, though, and happliy tags along!

Only 4 more wake ups before it's time to hop on the plane for Florida!:bounce: :sunny:

07-16-2004, 10:00 AM

Taylor is up at the lake camping with his dad. But, I know he will be there too!

07-17-2004, 11:47 AM

We actually leave in 4 days for Florida! Just had to bump this thread up ahead of those guys leaving in the fall!

Thought I was going to have a heart attack on Friday. Could not find my drivers license! Started calling every place I had been that last week. I hardly ever pull it out, but once in awhile you need it for sig varification on credit card or check! Called a zillion places, then started getting on the DMV web site to see how quick I could get a replacement! (dont have a current passport either!) Finally I remembererd I put it in a jacket pocket because we went to the horse races and I didnt want to bring in my purse but thought I might need ID for if I won big! (I didnt!)

THANK GOODNESS thats where it was!!! I could just see me waving goodbye to my family at the airport!

So, now out of panic mode and into packing mode!

Looky, Looky -- in 24 hours we'll be on the plane heading for Orlando and Vero Beach. I can't believe it's finally here! I made these ressies this time last year. It's amazing how fast the year as sped by.

If you see a family of three dressed alike at the terminal it just might be Joe, Carly and me. Carly and I will have one maroon-colored Mickey tropical dresses. Joe will have on a maroon/brick-colored shirt. Carly and I will have our brown hair in ponytails with lime green, daisy-print hair ribbon tied around them. We want to look spiffy for our boarding photo. Come talk to us, if you see us.

Otherwise, we look forward to meeting all our new friends at 3:00 p.m. at the Goofy pool. I'll have on a bright blue/green swimsuit and a box of nametags.

I'm off to get fingers and toes done and finish packing!

Safe journeys,

07-19-2004, 09:51 AM
I was doing a bit of last minute shopping at Wal Mart last week, and found lime green swim shorts! So that's probably what I'll have on with my bathing suit! I can't wait....I need this soooooooooo much! I just might have to add a lime green drink of some sort in my hand!
Finishing up some last minute details today and tomorrow....laundry on Wednesday...Packing up the kids and taking them to Grandparents on Thursday, and we're outta here on Friday!!!!!!!!!! See y'all Saturday!
and BTW, we got our lime green paint chips finally on Saturday!

07-19-2004, 10:19 AM

Have fun in Vero - I'll look for you at boarding!!!!

Safe travels to every one. I am with you. I really need a vacation. I was at work 12 hours yesterday. Needless to say I am not packed. But we will get there.

I am so excited. The next time that ship sails it will be us!!!!!!!!!

We will see some of you Friday at the Raddiaon and the rest of you Saturday.

07-19-2004, 09:04 PM
Joanne, we will be at the Radisson for 2 nights beginning Thursday. Our last name is Skaar, dont know if we will be at the pool or what on Friday. We plan on touring JFK first thing on Friday, then maybe check out the beach and get any last minute things. If you want to meet up, or anyone else wants to, leave a message with our room.

If not, see ya at the Goofy Pool!

Well, *I* won't be there :( but my kids will be there with my parents. They are arriving into MCO about 4:30 p.m. Most probably they will hang out at the pool and eat something in the airport that night. I'm getting SOOOO jealous of you guys. Why didn't I get myself on that cruise?????

07-20-2004, 10:25 AM
Just spoke to the Radison, we booked the shuttle for 10:30. Can't wait to meet everyone.

07-20-2004, 11:53 PM
I have been reading the posts for several months but didn't want to go to the bother of signing up to respond to any. But I finally gave in today. My daughter -- Buginarug -- has responded that she and I will be at the pool as soon as we can. My husband and oldest daughter don't want to come. My parents are also traveling with us. So I may bring my mom as well. Sorry I won't be in the designated alien green color. I have bought my group red Disney shirts and I am "making" them wear them on Saturday. Much to their protests.

See you Saturday, Vickie::MinnieMo

07-21-2004, 09:02 AM
Lorri We will be arriving arround 3. My husband has to go back to the Airport and pick up my sister. We will leave you a message.

Vicki, welcome I think our kids have been chatting. They want to meet at the ice cream place. Put the rest of us will be by the pool.
Did we dicide if it was the right or left side?

Patrick came home yesterday so we are almost packed, Just waiting on the older one.

Two more days of work and we are off.

See every one very soon.

07-21-2004, 07:12 PM
Welcome Vickie :wave2: OMG I can't wait until Saturday!! Only 2 1/2 days left!! Sorry... Wanted to bump this... How did everyone going in August get ahead of us?!

i had a great trip with my church kinda tried and ready for vacation. 2 days till we leave. cant hold in the excitement. cant wait to meet everyone.

07-21-2004, 10:55 PM
1 1/2 days until we head south and I've been doing all the last minute stuff. *Finally* found some shoes to go with both my gowns, plus some sandals I've been looking for - Whoo Hoo! I keep wanting to buy every bathing suit I see...must save $$$ for shopping spree in St. Marrten (..Waitress I *need* 2 more boat drinks! ) and spa treatments :teeth: !!

The suitcases come out tomorrow, the packing gets underway and the freaking out of the cats and dog begin! ;) DD has packed her bag for Camp Nana and the dog is keeping an eye on her bag to make sure she goes to Camp Nana too! The cats are unimpressed either way, they will just make sure the requisite number of cat hairs get packed and *not* them. ;)

I ran into a lady in the dressing rooms of Kohl's today and she mentioned she is leaving for a cruise this Saturday and I asked which one, she said, "Princess". When I told her I too was going on Saturday on a cruise, a *Disney* cruise, she was most envious ::yes:: But, she allowed as how since MIL is paying for this cruise, Princess is just fine. She will be in St. Marrten the same day we are. We laughed and said we may see each other again!

Oh well, I'm avoiding ironing and packing...must get back to it.

See ya'll Saturday!!!

07-22-2004, 12:34 AM

We leave tomorrow at 120pm. I cant believe I am ready to go, I am usually packing all the way up to leaving! Of course, I still want to run the vacuum, water the plants, etc, etc, and I have two errands to run in the morning!

Got my nails done today and the nail lady has a friend that is an entertainer on the disney cruise! Dont know if it is the Wonder or the Magic, but its a small world, huh Diane? Also found some cute sandals today, they are shaped as a starfish on top!
(like I need another pair of shoes!!!!)

See y'all there!

07-22-2004, 11:50 AM

Hi Neighbor - we're just over here in Athens!! Loved your comment about the dog and cats! We have 3 dogs. I have to pack "in secret". The 4 cats stay outside and don't much care as long as they are fed. Ah, the things we do for the furry ones. My hubby is not going on the cruise and will be home with them but once they see a suitcase the panic sets in!!!!! Come to mention it . . . I am in somewhat of a panic myself. Got DS all packed. Got all mine laying on the bed - trying to pick and choose. Oh well, it will all get done and this time tomoro Delta will be wisking us away to the Hyatt.

Can't wait to see all of you.

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

07-22-2004, 05:24 PM
Got the kids all packed now, and am about to take them to Camp Grandma and Grandpa...I'm packed, still gotta pack DH's things...tomorrow gotta pay what bills will be due while we're gone (YUK!), run the dishwasher, change the litter box, and take out the trash. We're leaving at around 4:30 and staying at LaQuinta. See y'all on Saturday....I got my nails done on Tuesday, and I got *waxed* last night....OUCH!!! but that'll be one less thing to worry about on the boat, right? I can't believe it's finally time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Riding with Khakismum and bkiss (and respective spouses...hey, if the plural of mouse is mice, should the plural of spouse be spice?) Anyway, see y'all Saturday!

07-22-2004, 07:26 PM
OMG I cant believe tomorrow is our last day home!!! I can just see all the stresses of tomorrow... finish packing, cleaning... I'm tired just thinking about it all... Cant wait to see everyone!!!!

See everyone in a little while. Can't wait.

08-01-2004, 11:30 AM
Well, most of us are probably back home and still feeling the movement of the ship. Spent all of yesterday hanging out in airports thanks to Delta airlines and mechanical and personnel problems. Got into Arizona about 5 hours after we were supposed to. Very tired!!!

Been going through and loading to the computer all of the digital pics.

Met a lot of great people during the cruise. Thanks to all for making this a memorable time!

Reports to follow!!!

08-01-2004, 12:01 PM
Back home, still working on Mount Washmore! (Laundry)

I am having a real hard time with my head still rocking. I couldnt sleep last night for the longest time, and am still struggling with it today! I hope its better by tomorrow! I wonder if I take a bonine, will that help?

Had a great time but am glad to be home. Now I have to concentrate on back to school stuff!

Spa Mama

08-01-2004, 12:42 PM
I'm still rocking too!! :( I went to sleep at 8 yesterday and woke up about 6 times before I finally woke up for good at noon today. But I feel recovered now. :teeth: Mom's got me scanning the MOUNTAIN of professional pictures we got taken! Had a great time!

~Nicki

08-01-2004, 04:24 PM
We had some of those same Delta problems and didn't make it home until 2:30 this morning. I haven't had the problems with rocking today. Maybe being up for almost 24 hours yesterday got rid of them.

It was great meeting so many of you!

08-01-2004, 06:54 PM
Pictures make trip reports sooo much mor interesting... so add them when you post your report!!

08-01-2004, 08:42 PM
If we added our pictures we'd be up to about 40 pages on this thread... Between me and my mom we have over 40 rolls of film, about 30 professional pics, and 300 on the digital camera. Heeheehee.

~Nicki

08-01-2004, 09:45 PM
Oh my gosh, I feel like such a bad mom!

Only took about 5 rolls of film, and I think we bought about 10 of the professional pics! Do have about 30 pics on the digital camera too though.

Tenya, I am so sorry you didnt get on our flight! We were exhausted by the time we were home, I can imagine how you guys were! Jessica slept the entire flight (never does that) and Alex slept about half of it.

My head is finally getting better tonight!

Ok, just a poll - who all got sick on Monday! And did anyones kids get the chicken pox?? Luckily we did neither, but we were pretty grouchy on Monday, just overall didnt feel good!

Spa Mama

08-01-2004, 10:10 PM
Last Monday, oh my goodness. I was a little seasick Sunday. On Monday, I felt like I was trying to walk on the back of a school bus that was going 60 mph down a dirt road. I have a bad sense of balance, this made it worse. Walking down the corridors, I would bump into the walls. Can't blame it on the alcohol, I don't drink. LOL. Even my husband was a little queasy. I am glad to hear that you and your kids didn't get sick Spamama.

We are dealing with floods right now. This morning, the area where we live in Pennsylvania, received over 5 inches of rain in less than an hour. We took some interesting detours in downtown Philadelphia just trying to get home. 95 was flooded out. Our house is good, we are on a hill. Tomorrow I will venture out to the grocery store.

Tomorrow I will try to post a trip report. All I can say for now is, I wish we could have stayed, it was amazing!

08-01-2004, 10:32 PM
I jus got back frum tha cruise!Wow was it funn:bounce: it was sooo funn in fact.. that we planned another one in 2-3 yrs!:teeth: Hopefully every1 else had a good time. I kno that i did!But tha one thing i hated was lyking this kid and not even being brave enough to find out his name!well at least i saw him be4 i left rite!Well reply and tell bout ur trip!I would love to hear!

I am still rocking a bit, but no one else in my family seems to be.

None of my kids got sick, or had exposure to chicken pox.

Ann e mater we had the grace of your lovely daughters company at our dinner table the night you did palo. What a lovely young lady.

I have heard that san juan will be replaceing st. martin only for the next nine weeks, then will return to the traditional eastern.
I have been booked on the feb. 5th eastern with st. martin included so if anyone knows different please point it out.

the pirates night will be kept in place of tropicali night if it is successful. I heard it will be wonderful.(with character suprises in the dining room.ect)

This was the best of the 5 previous cruises I have taken 3 of them being disney. They just keep getting better. I cruised on the Mariner last feb. and I would never do it again especially after experiencing the disney difference. What a wonderful week!!!!

08-02-2004, 10:34 AM
Sitchu2, just wanted to say thanks for thinking I'm such a lovely young lady. :teeth: I had a lot of fun at dinner with you guys! Thanks for having me :)

As for the rocking... I felt it alot... Animator's Palate was the worst when it came to rocking, I think it was because it was in the back of the ship.

Anyone think The Village totally sucked? Aside from about 2 or 3 moments where it was "jumpy" I thought it was boring and the ending was VERY disappointing... I kept waiting for an ending that would blow the movie away but instead it just ended. I hope this wasnt just me...?

~Nicki

08-02-2004, 12:22 PM
My parents reported that they all got the seasickness on Monday. DD 13 got it the worst, the rest of them were just kind of blah feeling. And they all have no problems on rides, so it must have been bad. Me--I just feel nauseous reading about it!!

My DS 9 got the typical cruise stomach virus (Norwalk virus) on Tuesday through Wednesday. Made quite a mess of the bathroom, but he's fine now!

I'm so glad to hear you all had a great time and I wish my kids could have met you guys!! My parents said that didn't meet anyone who mentioned being on the DIS boards. I just can't imagine that there is a whole world out there that doesn't DIS!!!

08-02-2004, 06:18 PM
Hi all,
I was rocking pretty bad when we arrived home but it has stopped now. My DD 8 was very queasy on Sunday. She barely ate dinner and missed the Golden Mickeys. She was back to herself by Monday night.

08-02-2004, 07:56 PM
Just posted our trip report.

Hi all,

Welcome home. It sure was hard to go to work. None of us are sick(thank God) We stayed saturday night in The Gaylord Palms what a beautifrul place.

We got home to a green pool and a broken

It was a pleasure to meet you folks. Sorry we didn't meet more. It was hectic traveling with a group of sixteen. It was a lot of fun though. We want to go again next summer.

I can't wait to read every ones trip reports.

Thanks again
