Your wanting opinons and experiences with either or right? You guys that are on Atkins or South Beach could tell your opinon of the one your on. I think that's what she is needing to know. I sure do wish i could help you out Nicole but i don't have experience with either of them. I hope you gather enough information to make a great decision for yourself. Have a great day.

Sorry about that. I missed the or part. :o

I decided to try Atkins because I had seen several people do remarkably well using Atkins. I had tried the Beverly Hills Diet before and done very well with it, but it requires eating lots and lots of fruit. Especially in the mornings. I just do not like fruit in the morning. I do however like meat and CHEESE! I really like cheese.

I decided to at least give Atkins a try. Before Atkins I had no energy. I felt bloated a lot and just basically uncomfortable. After 3 or 4 days on Atkins I noticed a huge improvement in how I felt. Another plus is the fact that my blood sugar stays on a more even keel. It has reduced my mood swings and cut down on my food cravings. When I really want a bite, I can go get a piece of cheese which I find really awesome. I told you I really like cheese. :)

I miss potatoes, rice and pasta sometimes, but when I do I think about how bad I would feel physically if I ate it and decide it's not worth it.

Hope that info helps, JustMe. :)

I'm not on either, I'm on a program called Lean for Life, but from what I know about South Beach, it looks similar. I think on SB you can eat more veggies and fruits. However, my program requires the body going into ketosis, similar to Atkins (I'm not sure if SB uses ketosis).

If you're trying to decide which is better for you, I think these are the main factors: with Atkins, you are likely to lose faster IF you can keep yourself away from the veggies and fruits (and of course starches) long enough. SB will probably get you losing at a pretty good pace, but probably not quite as fast as Atkins.

Atkins allows you to eat more fats like mayo, cheese, pork rinds, etc. But I don't think you're allowed fruits on Atkins for quite a while.

So I guess you have to decide that if you go with Atkins, you can lose the weight fast, but you might have to give up things like fruits and some veggies for a while, but you can eat "fattier" things, but if you never liked fruits much in the first place, then that might be for you!
