The Cape Cod Meet Summary thread! Updated with Pictures!

There are a couple of threads going about the Cape meet so I thought I would try to summarize things here. Please sign up here or let me know if I have something wrong!!!

Saturday at 3PM to whenever :) ... meet at Alex's house in Plymouth Massachusetts- please PM or Email me for directions


We will supply burgers and dogs and some people have signed up for some other stuff.. please feel free to add to the list!

Me, dh and 4 kids, 13 (dd) 12 (dd) 7 (ds) and 4 (dd). Can't wait to meet everyone. I am going to need directions though, to both ALex's and Glo's. We are coming from US 44, 3 miles east of I-495 or 14 miles west of Highway 3. That's the KOA campground we are staying at...Lot cheaper than a motel, they still have a few cabins left if anyone is interested. What should I bring?? I've been busy planning our first Disney cruise for next summer and spending all my DIS time on the Cruise Boards, and just saw the link to this thread, on the Community Board today.

We won't be able to make the meet this year. I hope you all have a wonderful time though!! :)

I am still up in the air about making it. If I do it maybe Saturday. We will be in Dennisport and I am hoping to convince my DH to meet you all.

I just have to overcome my shyness about meeting people. Any suggestions? This would be my very first meet.

A lot of people are shy going to their first DIS meet...and hey who can blame them!!!
But the people are great and I would bet a lot that within an hour you would feel like you were among old friends....

I am very much looking forward to these meets. From my own experience, the hardest part of going to your 1st meet is working up the courage to do so. Once you arrive, it becomes obvious that the concern felt was not warrented. I have met so many wonderful people from this site. Give it a try.

I am still debating if I have to wear the bag over my head all weekend. I was hoping to use the bag to bring my dish to pass...I have a can of cheese wiz, a can of spam, a can of sardines and some old crackers to pass around. It makes for a very nice and classy appetizer building option. I never want anyone to feel the mystery guest attends a party without bringing something exceptional special to share.

I know who the Mystery Guest is. It is obviously Maggie Simpson. Look at the dress. It looks like Maggie's! I hope the Mystery Guest appears in the blue dress with a paper bag on his/her head. That way, we can ID that person better!

I hope Marsha can come. She needs to see herself in the DIS Con 2 video and possibly cry. Then glo can take a photo. :)

I am amazed each time there is a meet, how well the kids get along...it is just a constant source of amazement for me.
Maybe we will get that winter meet in this year and be able to do this all over again!

The burgers got rave reviews and I promised everyone I would post the recipe so here it is on the recipe and scrapbook board

The recipe came from a cookbook that Snowwark gave me at last years meet! It's a Canadian TV personality that has a show called Cottage Country.

Later in the evening we all watched a special video that Barry had sent with a summary of the Boston dis meets, patrick con and riddle con as well as Discon 2. Great Job Barry!


One interesting note...... when I was giving directions to Paras4ri she said she knew the area, she went to camp here as a girl. It turns out she went to SAME camp as my DD... I won't say how many years ago! She brought a flag and some pictures from HER camp days!
