Does anyone here do the South beach Diet? I know it is a lot less restrictive than Atkins apart from the same 2 week induction period where most carbs are a no-no. I got a free copy in my issue of Cosmo this month and have just started reading it. Has anyone had any success with this diet - it sure looks a lot more fun than Atkins!!!

P.S. I lost another lb - yeay!!!

I am on my 12th day of the Southbeach Diet and I love it! I have not cheated even once! The first two days, because I hadn't shopped for my diet foods yet, were very tough, I ate, but I wasn't thrilled with my selections, and I craved my usual carbs, but I did shop and on the third day all my cravings went away, and I have stuck to it with no problem. I have not weighed in yet, on Monday I will do so. I have not felt hungry or craved sweets (my biggest downfall). I am learning to love other foods like vegetables and salads and sugar free gelatin.

Tonight I was able to have a chicken breast smothered in mozzarella cheese with red and green peppers, mushrooms and italian squash--it was excellent. The protein makes you feel full.

I did try Atkins once, but couldn't stick to it because it was way too restrictive. This one is alot better.

hi all,

After reading this forum I found out about the South Beach diet. So I now have the book and started today - so far so good,no cravings yet - and I normally live on bread and rice. Got to lose 2stone after the birth of my 2nd baby in March.

Wish me luck and good luck to everyone else.
