We have one free afternoon scheduled and were thinking of having lunch at Mara and then checking out the AKL (we have never visited there). Any opinions on Mara for lunch?

We had lunch there several occassions last year and really enjoyed it... DH actually said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. Please note that it is a food court type place but they do have plenty of seating.

Thanks! We would love to have tried one of the other restaurants there, but since they aren't open for lunch we thought we would try Mara. We really don't want another PS reservation anyway!! Kid's seem to like counter-service better.

I've enjoyed their Boma Beef sandwich. Whole grain bread with lots of flavorful cold roast beef.

Our favorite lunch items at the Mara are the Chicken Pepper Pot soup, Turkey wrap, Prime rib sandwich and of course Paw print brownies.
Don't forget after lunch check out the animals at Sunset overlook and Arusha rock, plus ask at the desk about the bird feedings, artifact tour and other activities.

We like the sugar cane chicken. It is sweet with
spices and different. Will be trying the shrimp
platter this trip, and the sugar cane chicken.
