We just had a goodie day here at work and I like to participate when they are held. Usually there are a few good options and I like to taste small bits of some of the real "goodies" so I don't feel deprived. :)

Today I had:

3 grapes
3 small chunks of pineapple
2 small pieces of broccoli
1/2 tsp of veggie dip
2 crackers
2 slices of colby jack cheese (1" x 1" each)
1/2 of a small (1") brownie
1/3 of a small (1") cheesecakey bar type thing

I ended up counting this as 11 points which seems kind of high but I do tend to overestimate. Do you think I have overestimated too much here.

fruit = 1/2 point
broccoli = 0 points
veggie dip = 1/2 point
crackers = 1 point
cheese = 4 points
brownie = 2.5 points
cheesecakey thing = 2.5 points

What do you think? Too much? Just right? Not enough?

I think you've done a good job. Thank heavens for those "Flex Points" huh? Just the kind of occasion when they come in handy.

Those sound pretty darn close.

In the 2002 complete food book

1 inch cheese cube = 2 points
1oz crackers = 3 points (22 baked tostitoes is 1 oz)
2 inch square of brownie is 5 points

I would say those numbers sound about right. It's impossible in those types of situations to be 100% accurate without the nutritional info, so its best to just put something that sounds right down..........and move on. I estimate all the time when we go out to eat, and have yet to gain! Congrats on picking good choices and being able to enjoy the goodie day with everyone else!

I agree, sounds like you have a good guesstimate there. It is so hard to figure in instances like that.
