Every time we got a drink on board, they automatically added 15% to the bill. There was also a space for additional tips on each bill. I must say that I never added anything. Not sure why anyone would, as all they did was pour a drink. Would be curious to see how other cruisers normally address this when drinks arrive. Thanks.

As a potential first-time cruiser, I'm curious as to the answer to this as well. Any comments/suggetions?

I don't know how other people did it, but if we walked up to a bar and got a drink, we just went with the autotip. We added a little more if someone actually brought the drink to us (like on castaway cay, on the adult beach, when the nice man with the tray trudged halfway up the beach to take our order, back to the bar and then back to us with our drinks)

If the person just poured us a drink we didn't leave any extra. Often though the bartender talked to us and we got a lot of neat info from them. Then we added to the tip. If someone brought us drinks to the table we tipped extra if they were pleasant and got us our drinks in a timely manner. A couple times we had to wait 15 minutes or more before someone even stopped by to take our order. We didn't leave extra then. So I guess we just tip like we do for severs. If they just give us average service then we just left it with the recommended tip, if they gave us really good service then we left extra.

Some of them work really hard at being entertaining. One guy was great and always paid special attention to my son he would say "wasssup!!!) to him in the funniest voice whenever he saw Mike and was super friendly to all three of us. I usually added a buck on to the slip every three of four times, not each time but he really was such a great guy!

In my experience the extra line really throws the little kids who are signing for smooties, candy etc.....explain to your children what to write!!!
