A coworker of mine is considering Atkins. She only wants to lose 10-15 lbs. Has anyone gone on Atkins to lose this amount? If so, did you lose more than you wanted? Did you gain it back?

I've been thinking about this since you first posted it. I don't know that there is a point where it is too little to lose to do Atkins - but . . . Atkins really shoudn't be considered a "diet" or weight loss program - it should be a lifestyle decision. Any method should be - but Atkins does have the potential for quick regain when somebody goes off it. If your friend just wants to lose 5-10 and then go back to the way she ate before, she would be better served going with a plan that she can reasonably use for maintainence. Her best bet probably (and this from a pretty hard core Atkins person) would be to start or increase exercise and to eat sensibly. She might want to look at the Zone, or WW. Or just do it herself thru calorie reduction and portion control. Introduce her to fitday.com.
Just my thoughts

Yes, that is right. Controlled-carb living is very healthy, whether you have weight to lose or not!
Your friend could do Induction, then slowly add more and more carbs back into her diet until she reaches a comfortable level where she may lose 1 pound a week. It won't take her long to lose it, but she shouldn't go "off" the diet when she's done. Controlling your carbs is a lifetime decision, mainly for good health, instead of losing weight.
