Hey guys, just checking in... glad to hear everyone seems to be ok during all this weather everyone is having. Welcome to any of you I have missed. You would think the OC ones in our group would be packing and repacking instead of all this posting that keeps going on. :earseek: I am starting to fall behind. I can't believe it. Hope everyone in harms way stays safe!! :sunny:

My oh my, you people have been busy!! I don't read for a day or two and there's more here to read than in War and Peace!
Welcome Aboard to all our latest ship mates.
We have been continuously praying for those Ivan touched. Happy to hear our little group down south is ok.
I want you all to know I went shopping yesterday. My dd's will be well dressed for the cruise now. (I'm sure some of you are breathing sighs of relief!)
Still have to find some formals, have some alterations done, etc. But I'm now starting to think about this! :earseek:

Vicki, if you need to find formals for the girls check out this website from ebay.http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&include=0&userid=butterflyxc&sort=3&rows=50&since=-1&rd=1
They have some beautiful dresses here and they are not auctions. They are buy nows.
Just ask Sarah how pretty her new formal dress is. (I sent Linda to the website also)
This is where I found dresses for Denise and Rachel, and you can't beat the prices with a stick.
Happy shopping.princess:

I got a dress for Aubrey on sale at the local mall for $13.76 after tax. It isn't a true "formal" but she can wear it again for Easter. I am debating on wether or not to let her wear her Cinderella costume for formal night since she is only 2. Any thoughts or suggestions on that one?

I am doing the REAS package so will receive a gift basket - and I will be getting a stateroom gift from Kim at AAA (Thanks Jeanna) ....but I would like to order flowers for my stateroom. I was going to use DCL but decided to give my order to Shirley.
So here is the question (finally, I know!) Has anyone used TPG? And can you 'send' stuff to Shirley to include with your flowers/gift.
I was thinking it would be nice to have a few items - disposable underwater camera, small drink items, and some other fun stuff to go with the flowers but I would like to send them....is this what people do when they refer to sending her stuff to include in the basket/gift????
Or am I mis-reading what people post.

Pat, Shirley will put anything in your baskets that you would like. If it is something special that she doesn't have, then you can send them to her. Just call her shop, she answers the phone most of the time, lol. She will work with you to make sure you are happy with your gift/basket.
We got Sarah a basket/gift last cruise and she loved it. She asked me about Sarah's favorites and made some suggestions about things to include. Very nice lady!

Ok, the Birnbaums WDW guide does have coupons, however, the cruise line book did not. If you haven't bought it yet, you might want to reconsider. The Passporter book went into much more detail. There was very little information in the Birnbaums book that wasn't either in the passporter book or found on the DIS.
I was very disappointed in it. Very small book and nothing like the Birnbaums WDW guide which I love. My advice is if you can peruse thru it before actually buying if possible.
Ok, got to run!

Well, I was going to make this big announcement, but then I'm reading the posts and read:
disposable underwater
Being as tired as I am, I read this to say.... disposable underwear. So, I'm sitting here at 11pm by myself, laughing out loud because Pat bought disposable underwear. I shouldn't be left alone any more.
As for Birnbaum's...my humble opinion is it's one big advertisement (which isn't a bad thing). I like Passporter for it's detail, not to mention it's really the only DCL guide out there. The Unofficial Guide to WDW is the best for WDW. Passporter runs along side, but if I had to choose between the two, UGWDW would be in my shopping cart.
Ok, so are you ready for my big unveiling? (It's not really THAt big, but here goes...)
Please join me at the following site... www.windycitynaturals.myarbonne.com

I just realized something fun. The Incredibles is opening on Nov 5. Doesn't that mean that they will be showing on the cruise? I told my husband that the vacation is getting more affordable all the time because we'll save the $30 we would have spent to take the kids to the movies.
I also saved $5 on my new black sandals that I'm wearing on Formal night. They are super high though and I don't usually wear high heels, so if you see anyone in a long red dress that keeps falling down, that's me!!

Vicki - Great job on your site, I signed the guest book!
Hi everyone! Happy Monday Morning!
Poohjen - I hope they do improve by the next addition. I love the Birnbaums Disney guide. I don't think I could have done WDW without it with a toddler! I guess I shouldn't have expected so much for a first addition. It is still a good book for someone who doesn't know anything about the cruise line, but to me just wasn't up to Birnbaums standards.
Ok, got to go feed the munchkin! See ya'll later!

I, too, purchased a Birnbaum's and was disappointed but enjoyed the color pictures! I absolutely love my Passporter's. Maybe I didn't read enough of your posts but I'm confused about the upgrades. We have a cat. 10, adjoining rooms because there are 8 of us. We already have our cabin #'s. Does this lessen our chance of getting an upgrade?
PoohJen

Having your cabin #s doesn't, but wanting adjoining rooms probably does - just logistics. Are they "connecting" rooms? We have adjoining but not connecting (fingers crossed that connecting rooms open up::yes:: ).

Hi everyone! Time is going so fast leading up to the cruise, thank goodness. Chatting with everyone really helps to speed things up. I know I'm behind on the mark but, I'm glad to hear that everyone came through the storm safely. I live four houses down from a dam, and the roaring sound from the water going over the edge was incredible (We got six inches of rain from Ivan). I could hear it sitting in my living room with the TV on.
Sue, I can sympathize with you on the heels. I never wear them but, decided last year was going to be special and bought a pair for formal night. I made it from the stateroom to the dining hall and took them off under the table. Tried not to put them back on but John from Scotland (head server) made me. He escorted me out after dinner with the help of another waiter because it was that bad. LOL, I'm sticking to flats or very tiny heels this year. I wish you better luck.
John, the sign you sent me was wonderful..I would love if you could print it on the magnetic paper and I will gladly bring along my Mt. Dew contribution. I know what that's like cause I'm a Pepsi girl.
Vicki, great site. I hope your business does really well.
Does anyone have any recommendations on the spa treatments? I think I'm going to break down and try something this year. I pulled out the price list from the last cruise but not sure if the still have the same things.
Okay, almost done. Is anyone else planning on watching Monday Night Football while on the cruise? Philadelphia at Dallas. I'm a huge Dallas fan and will be there, just wondering if anyone will be there to cheer with.

Tina, Congrats on the upgrade. That is so exciting. The verandah will be awesome!!!
Can't believe we are getting so close. I have been buying stuff and putting it away for such a long time now it will seem unreal to actually pack it all. Wonder how I will fit it all in my bags!!

I love the Eagles!! Mainly because they have the prettiest helmets in the NFL (those really cool green wings on the front) :p
I would have to put my NFL loyalties with the Redskins. (Yay Joe Gibbs-!--Boo Dallas!) :jester:

Hello everyone, just heard from my DS and his DW. They were calling from their cell at St. Thomas. (They're on the Sept. 18 Antigua cruise). This is his first cruise, and mine, and he said that the video we sent for from Disney doesn't do it justice! He says it's incredible and I'm going to love it.:Pinkbounc
Unfortunately, he's been seasick since day one and the patch didn't do much. But he says the food really looks and smells good!!:teeth: His two children, ages 3 and 4, love the Oceaneer Club and can't wait to go every morning! And when he told me about the horns blowing, every time they pull in and out of port my eyes welled up. I think I'll need a kleenex when we get there!

Thanks!! Yes, I have several great shots with Mickey...my daughter was SO excited to meet him in person that I think he really took to her. That pic was taken in Disneyland Paris last month. My daughter's been to Disney 4 times now...this last trip was the first where she really took it all in though now that she's a bit older. She's so excited about the cruise!

We will be bringing DH tux. (He plays trumpet for weddings, so he owns one.) He thinks it is neat to dress up for it and I think I have been convinced to let Aubrey wear her Cinderella costume! LOL Should make for some interesting pics!
I don't know if I will get DH to dress Like a pirate, but I think we will be in the tropical gear like Susan.

By the way, does anyone know what size the porthole windows are in a cat 8? We might upgrade at the port if they aren't completely booked, but thought that if it was a small window it might not be worth the price. We don't want a verandah because of Aubrey being so small. Thanks!

Most of the windows in the Cat 8's are picture window sized (about 4 feet). There are some outside cabins that have 2 small portholes. I believe the only ones that have those are Cat 9's though. I am sure someone will come along to confirm....

According to my trusty PassPorter, port hole rooms on deck one have the 2 small portholes. Deck 2 and up port holes have the large picture window style.
You can also see pics at the CastawayClub web site under Staterooms > Deck 1 Dual Portholes. I would insert the link for you but each time I do it doesn't work...so type in www then castawayclub.

Hey adisneymama, I have one of those neat sheets and I love it. In fact, I'm planning on bringing it on the cruise for the trips to the beach! I think it costs about $6-ish and I just realized you can wash it in the washing machine (But Can't Dry It). It has little round weights sewn into 2 of the corners to help weight it down to help with the wind.
As for the formal nite, we are going to rent DH a tux, but I haven't decided what to do for my DS-10. Any suggestions would be nice! He doesn't have a suit, because he grows too fast!! I would love to rent him a tux, but I'm not sure you can do so on the boat. And I'm afraid it would be rather expensive.

This will be my first time on DCL and my first time having a verandah, but I thought that there was plexiglass on the balcony. I don't think there would be any safety issue for Aubrey:cutie:. I don't think Disney would have something unsafe that ANYONE could fall overboard. So if you REALLY want a verandah, just call and ask about it. Price wise, though, I understand as a reason not to get it. I'm just VERY THANKFUL for my "wish come true:genie:"

Tina - Thanks for the info on the neat sheet! I got a coupon online for $1.50 off, so I think I will make a go of it!
Also, I have read that a child could climb on the furniture and go over the rail? is that not true? Aubrey is an excellent climber and is very fast! She is also good at unlocking things so we were very worried about that. Anyone have any additional info?
I'm not sure the cost of renting a tux for DS but I do think it is possible from what I have read. What about buying him a pair of dress slacks and a vest and tie to match dads? Didn't someone else say that their son and dh were doing the matching ties?
Ok, got to run.

The locks are at the top of the verandah door and the doors are very heavy. I don't think a little one could slide it open.
The window on a cat 8 and the cat 9's on deck 2, are big, huge round portholes. Very nice! But, a word or warning, don't stand naked in front of one, thinking nobody can see you anyway, because just as you do, the guy cleaning the outside of the ship will swing by. ::yes:: (Been there:rolleyes: )
To explain Sarah's post a little more.... nobody, that I know of, has ever fallen off their verandah, but a young man, (on a dare) did jump off deck 4 while the Magic was in port (don't know which one). He was ok, but I think he was confined to his cabin, unless he was accompainied by his parents.:sad2: That little escapade would break my #1 rule for my kids----NEVER EMBARASS YOUR MAMA! I don't think our chances of connecting rooms are too good either. I would love a veranda but it would be too costly for our big family.:teeth:

I really hope we get tix to this one!!!! It sounds great and I'd love to take my daughter and mom. princess:
Oh, I just got SO excited again...can't wait!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We dodged another Hurricane here in N. Florida, although they cancelled schools again. I really feel for those who were impacted yet again. We have been so fortunate in our area.
I have my "things to do before the cruise" list going, including things to buy and pack. Anyone know where can I get the best deal on a 256 mb memory card for a digital camera? Also neeed a big beach bag although I have a feeling it may be hard to find one now that it's after the season. Glad I already bought my new bathing suits and shorts etc. I love this excuse to shop!!

John, you did it again! I didn't recognize the thread name when I checked my e-mail.....
Sue, www.saltwatercanvas.com has a great selection of mesh bags for beach and other uses. They are a bit higher priced, but I love my 'whale bag' and the shower caddies have come in handy for many uses. Take a look, see what you think.
Ok, it's off to the apple orchard!! :sunny:
Happy Monday, Everyone!! :hyper: :wave2:

Glad you came thru the storm okay, Sue! Let me know if you find a great price on a memory card - I need to get one too!
I grabbed more bathing suits for the kids this weekend at Dillards clearance - OP brand - $3! Also got DH some nice shorts at 75% off (I love clearance sales!). Didn't see the Kohl's post til last night...unfortunately, don't think I can check that out til next weekend. Phooey!
I still want to buy snorkel equipment, and some odds & ends (including bonine!). So much to do, so few weeks left!::yes::  :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I have a ? for all you previous cruisers....I know that DCL does something "special" if you are celebrating a special occasion, Does the occasion have to be the week you are on the cruise? DH and I are taking the cruise for our 6th anniversary, but our anniversary is Dec 19th. We didn't want to cruise over Xmas, so decided to go early. Should we still tell them? Or would they not do anything since it is the next month?
Hope you are all having a great Tuesday! Got to go take my car for its "bath" the lovebugs are horrible! I'll be back on later!

I turn my back for 30 minutes (hey, gotta do SOME work around here!) and y'all go post-crazy!
Hi RocketRalph - Welcome!!! We're all giddy over our cruise around here - you've found some fun folks to obsess with!
This is my family's first cruise, me, DH, DSons (7,7 and to-be-12). The folks on this thread have been friendly, fun and helpful! ::yes::
rocketralph
09-28-2004, 09:42 AM
GrayFal,
It's not our Anniversary. But it is our Anniversary present. We told them that it was. 2 years ago when we cruised we told them we were celebrating our aniversary. At the BC resort we got a bunch of ballons, a card and a gift then on the cruise we got a gift basket in our cabin and a cake at dinner. It was hard to eat that cake after stuffing yourself at dinner.
adisneymama,
Your occasion doesn't have to be the same week that you are sailing. You really have to let them know that you are celebrating a special occasion. It is really worth it.
adisneymama
09-28-2004, 09:47 AM
Thanks Rocket! That is exactly what we are doing, sailing as our anniversary gift. Just a little early. I will have my TA let DCL know! And I'll double check at Guest services when we go after those Tea with Wendy tickets! LOL

Yes - we did the Disney Land/Sea Package Fall 1992 when my kids were 6 & 8 and put together our own Land/Sea Feb 1995 when they were 9 & 11......Feb 1995 it was no longer Disney but had other charactors onboard I believe???? Then the whole family went for Gram and Popa's 50th wedding anniversary ....and DH and I decided to go by ourselves......Little did I know I would be sailing with all my DIS Pals,,,,so we are not very alone at this point :earseek: !!!!!!

I remember when we were on the Wonder and stopped in Freeport we saw 2 of the Big Red Boats. They were seized when Premier went bankrupt in 99 and been layed-up there since. It's a shame to see them in such a state of disarray.

Do you think I can re-book it once on board?
Thoughts? Opinions? I booked 2 cat 9s. Geez, having a family of 5 costs thousands more than a family of 4, b/c you need the 2 rooms (or the extra$$ for cat 4 balcony). I bet I'll upgrade later anyway for a Cat 6.

Does that make sense?

Hi All!! I can't believe how fast this cruise is growing. At this rate though, it should be easy to find someone from our group. If anyone else is interested, I can make nametags to hand out.. I made pumpkins for last year's Halloween cruise.
My dad (Hyandui) is so excited about finding this board. I live across the street from them and when I get home from work at night there are messages on my answering machine about the threads he was reading and posting to. I'm still telling them that I'm cruising solo though. :) Gotta love 'em.
Vicki - back to several pages ago.... I have a "renaissance wench" outfit that I wore on the ship last year for Halloween. If I won't be the only person wearing one then I'm game. Which dining time do you and your family have?
Fit Guy - Glad to see you've joined this group. This will be my second time cruising as a single. It's a very comfortable atmosphere and I've always made friends to hang out with (even if they were "old" married folk  )
Congrats on the weight loss everyone!!!

I have a ? regarding the Radisson....If I book the room thru expedia, will I still be able to park there instead of at the port? Or will I be charged extra?
Expedia has a rate of $132 for the 2 room suite and my TA was given a rate of $179 for the same room. Was wondering if any of you had experience with this.
I need to book today if possible.
Thanks

dont book it through expedia. book it through radisson.com. you will pay way too much via expedia. if you book via the radisson at should be only $119 before taxes last i checked. thanks

adisneymama, from what I read on Mousesavers.com, any room you book at the Radisson gives you free cruise parking. You don't have to have the cruise package rooms:
It's pretty easy to find the cheapest rates at Radisson Resort at the Port, if you know a few tricks:
Go to the web site.
For the city, type Cape Canaveral.
Enter your dates and the number of adults and children, then the "Continue" button.
Under Radisson Resort at the Port, click on "View Rates."
Ignore the first set of rates that pop up. These are usually not the lowest available.
Instead, go all the way to the bottom of that page and click on "view all rates."
You will see a variety of lower rates. Almost all of them are available to anyone!
Ignore the special "cruise parking" packages you may see listed. You aren't required to purchase one of these to get the free parking. Booking any room will do.
Hope this helps!

No she isn't Sarah. She still has 8 1/2 pounds to lose. She is half way there. You can say she is almost finished when she has lost 14-15 pounds.
I am only 1 1/2 pounds behind her. I don't care if she finishes first anyway, as long as I don't finish last. And it doesn't look like I have to much to worry about there. LOL

HI thanks for the responses. I did go to the Radisson site, but expedia is giving the lowest rates. I am going to call them to see what they say on the phone. I'll let you know if we book or not.
Thanks again. I'm very glad to hear I don't have to book the cruise package.

Thanks mrsmg! I just re-booked the Aug cruise with Costco, saved about $400; I will definitely re-check it when I'm on board! Still feeling slightly queasy about this sudden change of events for me! My head can't handle any more cruise obsession than I've already got!!! (and 8/06 is soooooo far away!)::yes:: :hyper: pirate:

We are in room 6101 so we won't be too far apart!
I am so glad to have the room booked at the Radisson. Means Dh will be a much happier person for day 1 of the cruise!
By the way, does anyone know whether or not you can leave the ship once you board at PC? We are bringing our umbrella stroller with us, but would like to get one of the DCL ones because they recline. Our thought was that once we board, if we can't get the DCL one DH could maybe go back to the car to get ours if it was needed.
Ok, got to run! I'll check in with you all later! Or in the words of Aubrey....Later Tators!

For us the elevators were not an issue! We were a little worried too, but we never had any trouble with noise.
In fact being near the elevators was very handy! Plus finding your room is super easy. Sometimes on the decks that are all cabins it is easy to get turned around!

Bonine is an anti motion sickness over the counter medication. It's suppossed to stop you from barfing over the rail of the ship. LOL
I would highly recommend for anyone worried about getting sea sick, that you start the medication the day before we sail. Give it a chance to get into your system. Don't wait until you are ready to hurl to swallow the pills, cause it won't work as well.
I don't expect to get sea sick since it didn't bother me last year, but November is supposed to have "rougher" seas. I picked up some children's dramamine for the girls. Rachel turned a little green last year the first night out. That is when it was the roughest. It might make them a little sleepy, but I think you will all agree that a little sleepy is a lot better than a lot pukey.:teeth:

Sorry, no reccomendations for restaurants by the Radison but, I was given one for a restaurant in St. Thomas today. One of the customers that comes into the pizzeria/restaurant where I work says his family owns "Waters by the Sea". It's supposted to be like 10 minutes from where we dock, near the airport. I'm thinking of trying that out.
Is anyone else staying at Disney the night before the cruise?

10-01-2004, 10:17 PM
Tina - Sorry but the only place I could think of is Walmart or Target. We have one, but it doesn't have wheels and I don't think we will take it on excursions, but might use it in the room.
Hope you all have a good evening. Talk to you tomorrow!

Thanks, Sue! That was very informative! But I have one more question for anyone that can answer. I haven't been on any kind of boat since I was a child so I don't know if I'll get motion sick. Driving long distances in a car doesn't bother me so should I assume I'll be fine? We have a really wavy waterbed that my husband calls The SS Minnow and that doesn't bother me either (he hates it)
I also read in the Passporter that taking ginger a few days prior to leaving as well as every day during the cruise will also help.:earsgirl: :earsboy:

OK gang, we decided not to drive the RV, so.....we booked a room at the Radisson!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9::cheer2: :cheer2: Looks like I'll be joining the get-together by the pool!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Question though. Do I need to call the Radisson to book the shuttle to the port? I thought I read somewhere about having to do that. Can I wait until we get there to book it? I guess I could call them and ask? Does anyone have a 1-800 number for the Radisson?
adisneymama, I'll try Wal-Mart for the cooler.
mrsmg, I would bring stuff for sea-sickness just in case. I don't get car sick, but my DH does AND he get motion-sickness! We had a waterbed at one time, but he did okay with it.

10-02-2004, 12:07 AM
Sue, I'm sure you'll love your whale bag as much as I do! With four princesses, I have a lot of stuff to carry, and my bag holds it all.
I don't see anyone commenting on the Disney rolling cooler I saw in the catalog.....
I purchased a rc at Sam's club. About $20 and holds a lot of water bottles. (This was before I saw the Mickey one.) GrayFal found a rolling cooler on E-Bags.
Beware of 'fake' ginger...if you purchase something with ginger to help with the motion sickness, make sure it has true ginger in it. Not all Ginger Snaps are created equally! Having said that, my understanding is it's a great way to combat motion sickness naturally, with little or no side affects (like sleepiness).
Geesh, I'd better start thinking of putting together lists of things I should do...... :teeth:

Tina,
we grabbed a rolling cooler at sears last week for $30 - they're clearing out their summer stuff. John likes it b/c it has a separate heavy clear plastic liner that zips in - i.e., you can fill it with ice w/o the water seeping.
6 more weeks everyone!!! :hyper: I'm heading for the outlet malls today in Williamsburg, hoping to find snorkel stuff, water shoes, and new sports sandals.
MrsMG, I'm not sure I'll get sick either, but as I know that I "might", I'm planning on taking the bonine the day before and day of sailing. I think about certain amusement park rides that would make me quesy, so I know that sea-sickness is a real possibility for me. I'll pick up kids dramamine, "Just in case", although I read benedryl works for some kids, maybe I'll get that instead (at least it has other usefulness).
I feel compelled to add that I did "christen" my BIL's boat once - but just that one time, I don't remember any problems on subsequent outings.

Guess it is time for us to start getting all our things together for the cruise. I have been too busy planning for everyone else, now it is time to plan for us!! Now that it is getting cool, we can start our packing. We have been waiting til we were done with our summer clothes to start packing them away. Now it looks like it is time. We have been dipping down into the low 40's at night this past week. I have still been known to go outside with shorts on when it is below freezing so I guess I will have to draw the line somewhere. LOL We just came back from checking our local Disney Store for any good deals. My oh my the snowglobes!!! Too bad we just bought a second curio cabinet to hold the ones I already have!!! I was wanting to try on my formal dress this weekend but after the meal we just had, don't think I want to discourage myself that way. Susan, I hope you did well cuz after today, you just may have caught up to me!! Well, gotta get going... gonna try to run some of this food off before bedtime!! Wish me luck!!

Good luck Jeanna.
I can relate to the starting to pack. I decided to go ahead tonight and start packing the new stuff that I've already gotten.
OMG!!! I am probably overpacking but I don't care. At least I won't be regretting not having something.
We have 2 large suitcases, 1 large duffle type bag, 2 small suitcases, 2 garment bags and the snorkle equip. bag.
So far every one is stuffed, except for the large suitcase I am packing with the girls clothes. I haven't packed any of Rachel's shorts yet.
I am taking my dry cleanables to the cleaner on Tuesday so they will be ready to go in the garment bags.
I am just glad that everything I am packing isn't going on the cruise with us. Several items, like towels, will stay in the car while we sail.
We have even started filling individual envelopes with our tips, so that will be out of the way. Only $105 more and that task can be checked off the list. We found a pkg. of 7 phone cards at Sam's Club for $29.00, and even got a 8 pk. of camcorder tapes for $17.
Thank God there are porters at the resort and at the port. I can't begin to imagine having to keep track of all those bags and 2 little girls. LOL
These last 34 days are going to draaaaaaaaaaaaaag.::yes::

Oh, my gosh!! I was fuming when I read your post (NOT at you of course). I just called the Rad 2 nights ago (from Ireland) and was told by a very RUDE woman that we could only book our shuttle one week out...now, tell me where that is posted on their web site or otherwise!! I told her I know of at least FOUR other groups that have already booked their shuttle. She essentially said tough. So, I hung up and said fine, I'll call back when she isn't there! :scared1:
So, I checked the posts and low and behold yet another booking. So, I called back at 7:36a on a Sunday (EST, but from Ireland yet again) and wouldn't you know it, I GOT THE SAME WOMAN! ARGH! And, she told me the same thing AND she knew it was me again. I told her, look, I am reading a post right now that says they booked their shuttle and they got a car seat so why can't I book?? She 'humphed' and said it wasn't policy but she'll do it this once.
Talk about fuming. But, I'm booked!!!...for 10am too. Hopefully anyway, we'll all pray that it's actually in the book. :) Oh my gosh, I think I need to go get a drink. LOL :drinking1

Give them h*ll Heather.
Did you need car seats too?
We were told when we booked our shuttle, that they now have 3 vans, what are the chances of all 3 of us being in the same one?
There are 11 of us in the 3 groups. I guess anything is possible.
adisneymama
10-03-2004, 09:03 AM
Susan - I would think that some of us would end up in the same van. Would be so much fun! They asked me specifically which cruise line, so maybe they try to group that way.
disbigkid - I am so sorry they gave you the run around. I was actually very leary of leaving my reservation there. It seems that they don't have a set policy and it is according to whoever you talk to. I know there was a post on the main board about it as well. IF you do need car seats call them back and ask them to add them to your reservation, because they have a limited quantity.
ok, good morning! Oh and I have started packing too, the new stuff we have bought.
Have a great one and I'll talk to you later.

Hi! My family and I just got confirmation that we'll be on the 11/13 sailing. This will be our fifth time on DCL, and our second year in a row of the same itin (not our favorite, but we'll survive). My older son will turn 7 on 11/13, and our baby will be 20 months the day we disembark.
I'm starting to move into hyper planning mode, and I think I have a pretty good handle on things. We book through my husband's company so we don't have much control over location and dinner seating, but we generally are fortunate enough to get upgraded to a room with a verandah, and get early seating.

Wow, I can't believe some of you are starting to pack. I feel like such a slacker!!
I use cloth diapers at home and I'm really having a hard time resigning myself to nine days (we're doing WDW a day on either end) of disposables. I'll get over it, I guess.
My husband and I fight every year over how much stuff I pack, but I really hate the feeling of leaving something behind that we end up needing. When we were in St. Maarten last year, I was so organized--I had bought a pop up tent for my baby (really small that folds into a 12" circle and fits into a backpack type bag) on eBay and brought that. We had a soft sided cooler bag and in it I had chicken fingers, cheese, crackers, fruit, nuts and tons of ice (all from stateroom service) plus I had filled our insulated water bottles with tons of ice and water. There was a man sitting next to us who asked his wife why she didn't plan ahead like me!
So if you see a family of four with two bags per person, a huge stroller, and two happy kids, that's me!

Vicki, Jen and Tina- Thanks so much for all your advice on my "motion sickness" issue. I really didn't think much about it until my DS came back from his cruise on the Magic last month and said he was sick the entire time.:(
Trish, I am so sorry for your loss. Pixie dust and prayers from us.
Trish- I understand the Asthma problem. My 3 year old has it every time he gets a little sniffle. We had to buy a nebulizer for him, it's that bad. We plan to bring it with us on the cruise "just in case". Hope you are feeling better:earsgirl:
