What is everyone doing after the cruise, before you go home? :bored: John you should put that in your list of things about all of us! Just a thought! We only have one day before we need to head home :(, and we'll be in the RV, so we were thinking of going to Universal or some other amusement park.:yo-yo: Any ideas? Don't really want to go to WDW for one day. I can't think of one park I would want to do over any other park. I love them all! Plus, what a tease that would be! I Appreciate any suggestions!

I had my reply all typed and then my cat walked across the keyboard to get to my cereal!!

I'm not a big fan of Universal as I found it to be really loud and lacking in ambiance. Some of the rides are good but most of them didn't really do anything for me. If I had to choose a non-Disney park, it would be Sea World.

As for me, we fly in on Thursday so we are going to do Downtown Disney to shop and eat (diet break will start with Wolfgang Puck's BBQ chicken pizza and possibly a Ghirradelli's sundae!) and then Pleasure Island.

On Friday, it's Magic Kingdom, as Mickey's Philharmagic and Wishes are new since we last went (and hopefully Stitch's Great Escape will be open). Also want to hop over to Epcot for a bit to see the Nemo stuff at The Living Seas. Then it's to bed so we can get up early to drive to the port!

TaraBelle,
You will LOVE Philharmagic and Wishes - they are amazing; true top-Disney quality! We held annual passes last year and my kids, me and DH never got tired of seeing those shows!!!

Athene - finally got my email with the fall rates and PIN! Now to decide which WDW hotel to do in fall...we love Dixie Landings (okay, "port orleans riverside"), but maybe we should try something different this time....???

As Sarah mentioned, OKW = Old Key West. A Home Away From Home Resort.

We stayed in POR last trip in June. Nice resort. (Show me one that isn't!)

After the cruise we may head back to WDW for a day or two, since we have passes. Then we head to San Antonio for Thanksgiving. My MIL lives there and I talked my twin-in-law and his family into joining us. They live in MN.

Not the happiest of Harvest Days....but it's the right thing to do.

From there, it's back home again to prepare for Christmas! I just bought tickets for the Joffrey Ballet's production of the Nutcracker. I'm already excited about it. The Joffrey is a contemporary ballet troupe, so it's a twist on the traditional. It'll be a fun day in Chicago.

What's everyone else doing after the cruise, besides licking their wounds? Planning for 12/05? :teeth:

We are driving home as soon as we get off the ship :( , bummer. We are taking the kids out of school and they will miss 10 days  and their school is none too happy about this ;) . I don't care however, they are my kids and if I feel family time is more important (or at least as important) as school time, that is my decision.::yes::
I wish we could stay, if we flew we would be able to stay at least one day, but I am not a real big fan of flying. Oh well. It will take us two days to get home.

We'll be right behind you, Tracy :D We drive to my sister's house in Charlotte, NC. Stay overnight there and then on home to Virginia.

Tarabelle, SeaWorld is my favorite park. I love to feed the dolphins, seals, and stingrays. Last December, we did the "eat with Shamu" dinner. Shamu and her baby were right next to the dining area. It was so cute watching the baby try to imitate it's mom! Luckily, they didn't do any of the soaking stuff while we ate.:p

Wow! That's cool. I've never heard of that program. It's been years since I last went. Someday, when I have some extra cash saved, I want to do the Discovery Cove thing. Last time I was there, I got a behind the scenes tour (my dad was in the zoo business) and we got to see an injured manatee being hand fed.

This trip we are going to Crystal River (after the cruise) and I think I'm going to snorkel with the manatees. Part of me (the one with the degree in marine biology) wonders if I should but the other part of me (the one who likes to get up close and personal...such as cage diving with Great White sharks) wants to do it and is now looking for an ethical operator to take me.

You are totally insane. LOL Why in the world would you want to get that close to something that would be more than happy to EAT you!!!!!

On a sadder note, could you all please say a special prayer for John tonight. He is having to drive tonight just after finding out that his grandma passed away this morning. As you can imagine he is pretty torn up about it, but they couldn't get anybody to cover his run for him tonight on such short notice. So if you would all say a prayer for him to stay focused and safe, I would really appreciate it.

When I first read this, I thought you were talking about manatees....which are vegetarians! Then I realized you meant the sharks. I was in the cage but there was a nice big space to take pictures through...a space I kept accidentally putting my hand through! It was a surreal experience.

I'm for that! I loved Australia but it's been 11 years!

The diving I did was in South Africa. Got seasick the first time I went so only watched them from above. 11 months later I went back and made sure to take my Gravol! It actually helps to be a little sleepy, I think. You don't really have to do any clear thinking since you are in a cage attached to the boat and the air tanks are on board.

The people who used to run Parc Safari are family friends. We used to go and then pop across the border to buy stuff we couldn't get in Canada (when I was young it was that Magic Shell chocolate stuff for ice cream!!).

Hope you enjoyed Montreal despite the rain (it's my birth place!). I'm going twice before my cruise....busy year!

I haven't bought or made everything yet. I'm in the middle of a big diet and it's hard to gauge what size I will be by the cruise. I have bought things that are two sizes smaller than I am now but I don't want to buy everything until I get closer to make sure my weight loss stays on pace. It would be a drag to have all this summer stuff that's too small and yet will be too big for me next summer. I can't wait too long though because you can't get shorts in Toronto in October!

Mom is in the midst of making our tropical shirts for Tropicali night. I have two dresses to make...one casual and one formal. However, the formal one is going to be what I wear to a wedding in October so I'm waiting until closer to get it done. Luckily my mom sews fast as she's going to South Africa in late September and I might run into some trouble (I'm not nearly as good as her).

I have my toiletries, disposable underwater cameras...I probably need film for my one camera.

I'm still trying to find the perfect pair of black shoes for my formal outfit which I'm hoping I can also wear with something else I'm bringing. On my RCCL cruise, I found I had to bring way too many pairs of shoes (I'm probably too picky about matching to my outfit!).

Was this the earliest you could request it? I would have been worried this whole time that I wouldn't be able to get the time off. I gave up having an extra long weekend this summer to guarantee that I would get November 12th off (since November 11th is a holiday for me).

Mind you, we did book the cruise before I got the time...but I got the time the next day!!

My mom just came up with the first finished Tropicali shirt. I tried it on, started to limbo and then remembered that I put my back out on Monday and since I can hardly stand or walk, limboing is probably not a good idea!! I have 99 days to recover so I can limbo on the ship!!

Wow, active bunch last night!!!

JCPenny's is having a 70% off sale; got a bunch of cruise stuff yesterday (but wasn't really motivated after seeing a scary image in the dressing room mirror).

Got the family's cruise shirt and pins from Disney this week. Also got some other family's shirts from Disney - fortunately it says "Barnes Family - New Years Eve" so there's still time to get them to the right customer!

Haven't bought anything else yet...like to pace myself to prolong the fun of planning!!! ok, i really just like to procrastinate too.

Still debating shore excursions.

Me too. My parents took a 34 day cruise and didn't do a single excursion (something like 12 ports). So my mom isn't really into excursions. We would like to go to St. John so we might just take the ferry over. Does anyone know how far the ferry dock is from the ship's dock on St. Thomas?

I think I am going to book the CC snorkeling equipment that includes the raft rental and bike rental. However, I'm contemplating bringing my own snorkel stuff so I don't have to rent in St. Thomas or St. Maarten or when I snorkel with manatees in Florida. I just don't know if I am willing to give up that much suitcase space to my huge fins, etc.!

I got seasick on a sailing excursion in Australia and I get seasick, generally, on smaller boats so those excursions do not appeal to me at all. I also don't have the money to spend on jewelry and I'm more inclined to shop for Disney stuff than anything else, so shopping tours don't do it for me. I am the underwater person but my mom doesn't even swim!! So our "odd couple" factor has to be taken into consideration. I'm thinking beaches with good snorkelling so she can sit and I can snorkel.

How many people are going with you? You get to check 2 bags each, so you could do like we are doing.

Our snorkle equipment came with its own duffle/carrying bag. We are going to be checking it with out other stuff. Just have to make room in the trunk for it, and it can stay there until the morning we board.

Trish, what are you complaining about?!!! That's my house everyday!!!:earseek::sunny: :sunny::cool2:   :crazy2:

We have what is called a "heat index" here that tells you what the temperature "feels like" with the 100% humidity. When our temp. is in the 90's, it actually feels like 100-110+ degrees!! Feel sorry for me please! LOL Now you know why I'm going to have so much trouble getting in the water in Nov. if it is cold! I'm climatized to the heat!!

It's my mom and I. I know you can check 2 bags but it is cumulative weight. I came back from my Mexican Riviera cruise plus Disneyland trip and had to remove stuff from my bag because it was overweight! The guy at LAX who had to inspect my luggage (I had a ceramic platter that I bought in Mexico) had trouble lifting it and he was a big guy! 2 bags would just be too hard to control the weight.

I am thinking of buying the carry-on that matches the suitcase I bought for that trip. If my snorkel bag fits in that, then I'll consider it. I'll be snorkelling the morning that I fly out and by then we will have done enough shopping, no doubt, to take up any leftover space in the luggage (plus it will be wet).

Hey fellow November cruisers. The above post is my punishment for adding extras to our vacation in July 03'.

We had the 3 day cruise planned and paid for last year when one day we were watching the travel channel and lo and behold, they were featuring Sea World. Heyyyyyy, lets add that on to our trip.
No sweat. We ordered and paid for the tickets online, printed them out and were ready to go.

Then guess what happened? We were watching the travel channel again (da gone them) and they were showing the best water parks in the county...and what do you know, Blizzard Beach is number 3 nationwide. Heyyyyy why don't we do that too! It only requires one more day. Cool. We'll leave on Monday afternoon, go to Sea World on Tuesday and Blizzard Beach on Wednesday before driving to Titusville.

Well guess what happened next? We were watching the Nascar race on Sunday afternoon and John kept playing the horn to the ship, and after the race I said, "Why don't we just go ahead and leave today?" So we called the hotel we had ressies at and added another day on to our stay.

And this is how he pays me back...."You added all the extra stuff last year. This year it's my turn"

Gotta love a man of adventure. Good thing he's got a good job to back it all up:crazy:

okay, finally bought my over-the-closet-door shoe organizer. and the disposable cameras for the kids (still need a waterproof one). and i got the twins each a cute USA Mickey canvas backpack from Sears (I'm a sucker for 75% off), and a little USA Mickey tote for me. Anyway, rounded up the kids' pins and autograph books and have started putting everything into a "cruise box" for future packing.

I still need to decide/plan my shore days....hmmm, too many options.

Okay everyone, let's hear some chatter out there!!!:Pinkbounc

I have a "cruise box" too! I love these boards. I don't feel like I'm crazy here! I have a Rubbermaid container with my new bathing suits, my motion sickness medication, disposable underwater cameras, conditioner, etc. I have all my new clothes hanging in one section of my closet, too. I would pack but I have a trip before this one...not that I'm going to take the same suitcase....hmmm...maybe this weekend!

Sorry guys, Cox (our internet provider) had their internet down this morning.

I have a cruise box too! Actually several of them :p . Now I just need to get them all in one place.

We would love to put some more pictures of our cruising buddies up on the website. I think you can just go up to the site

Will be sending Ed the updated entries today for the Cruiser List.
Please let me know if your older children want to be designated as "email friends wanted." A 12 and 13 year old boy(s) will be contacting each other thanks to the list.....Just PM me if your child wants to be included.......Thanks Ed and Jeanna for 'spiff-ing' up my list!

Tracy,
Corner works too! My box overfloweth! It started out as just the box my Disney shirts & pins were shipped in, and now a walmart bag of stuff on top of that, and then a sears bag....

I'll probably shift it all into a large suitcase this weekend. I can't really "pack" any clothes yet, as we usually wear our summer things into the fall around here. I can't wait to start packing. and then taking it all out and repacking. repeat over and over.:hyper:

That's how I feel. My dad asked what we were doing before the cruise and I said "there's this little place in the middle of Florida" at which point he rolled his eyes and said "you were just there in September". I said "I'm not going to go to Florida and NOT go to Disney...besides we have passes left!". We're only go one day, which is a foreign concept in and of itself to me!

I did the same thing with my Royal Caribbean cruise in March....tacked on three days at Disneyland. Oh and when I went to Africa the first time, I was going to fly through London and then the timing worked out that I was going to have more time than I wanted to spend in London so I went to Paris first (you can guess where I went in Paris, I'm sure). Now if I could just have a stopover in Tokyo!

Just got back a while ago from Rachel's school orientation.

We got the approval of both her teacher and the school principle for her to miss 2 weeks of school.

I have been really worried that it would be a problem, or the board of education would have me thrown in jail.

But the principle even has a WDW trip planned for the fall break in October.

We are going to have Rachel complete a trip journal that we found at MouseForLess, and the principle said that she would need to have perfect attendance the rest of the year, unless she was really sick, but other than that they said it would be ok. The principle even mentioned that it would be an educational trip.

So my mind is now at ease:Pinkbounc :bounce:

The principle did also ask that I put our plans in writing and send it to her around mid October, to remind her.

That's my goal too! I think my counter is set for sail-away time....even then it might be off. I can't be bothered to fix it now!

As for the pirate: menu, I'm psyched for the crab cakes and the chocolate cake. If I skip the main course, can I have two desserts?? (I know I can technically have the main course AND two desserts but that will not help my goal of not gaining weight on this cruise!)

I'm starting to really worry about my final payment. I mailed it on August 5th or 6th (I don't know why I can't remember which for sure) and it is still not posted. I know I live in Canada but it's not THAT far! Does anyone know if Charley messed up the postal service? Or maybe the Cash Operations department is short-staffed due to people being homeless, etc.?

It's too early to have the bank trace the money order plus I honestly believe if Disney cashed it, then it would be posted to my cruise account.

Someone please make me feel better! I need something else to think about to take my mind off it. Oh, I'm at work now. That should take it off (but since I'm on here, it obviously doesn't!!).

I booked through DCL. I'm going to wait until Friday... a full two weeks. At that point, I'll give them a call.

I don't really exercise. I started walking in July but we have had horrible weather and then I got caught up in our basement refinishing and now it's the Olympics...you get the pattern. ;) Last night, I started doing weights for my arms as I have lost weight so now have the flab to deal with! I really should rejoin the gym but I have no money between the cruise, another two trips and having to buy new clothes every six weeks or so!!

I do plan to use the treadmill on the ship and do walks around the deck but we'll see what happens. On my RCCL cruise, I used the treadmill once I believe and did a few walk-a-miles around the ship. I might make a deal with myself that for every portion of dessert I eat, I have to do 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Thanks, I will. I was hopeful this morning as the site was down for maintenance (not that they need to take the site down to post my payment but maybe that they had discovered some problem that payments weren't showing) but checked after and it still isn't showing.

Of course, now the US dollar is costing even less Canadian so I could have saved some money by putting it on my credit card now!

Get this! I decided to phone. The address I was given to mail in my payment was the address for couriers, not regular mail. There is a P.O. Box for regular mail and apparently the USPS won't deliver to their building (the one that they gave me the address for!). So my payment is somewhere floating around in one of the postal systems (either the US or the Canadian).

I think I'm going to have to put the payment on my credit card (which will max it out) and then get the money order I sent cancelled.

Not a happy cruiser right now.

I absolutely had taken both of these things into consideration. In fact, the first thing I asked was if Charley had possibly slowed down processing of payments. The rep at DCL today told me I had been given the wrong address for using regular mail. I had been given the courier address. He told me he always asks how the person is sending their payment and provides them with the correct address. The girl I originally spoke to did not ask. I guess she assumed I was sending it courier....which I would never do as it would defeat the whole purpose of sending a cheque (saving money over charging on my credit card).

I hung up thinking that maybe it would still get there. I called back and the girl I spoke to said it would not get there. She said she often sees them where they have been returned from the Celebration address and then the people have to resend them to the Lake Buena Vista address. She said she had no idea why the USPS wouldn't deliver to their building and would only deliver to the post office box.

Crossing my fingers the US rate is even better tomorrow and that I have enough room on my credit card to put the payment on (it's close!!).

P.S. I won't do this as much as I would like to choose my rotation.

People make mistakes. I just think that I'm going to write a letter so that they can maybe ask the people on the phones to be more careful. The fact that the one person said she had seen so many sent my regular mail that were rejected makes me think that this happens more than it should. Surprising given that I'm sure most people put it on their credit card.

I would feel a lot better about the whole thing if I knew how long it was going to take to get the money back from the bank. The process has changed since I left that part of the bank.

Hello Everyone.......I am cantsitstill's Mom :sunny: (for Dawn) I have been reading your posts for months, but have been reluctant to get into the water, so to speak, because of my complete ignorance of all the official terms, etc. But, I am just soooo excited about the cruise and at how close it is all getting that I had to give a BIG greeting to everyone. I feel as if I know you!! Am so anxious :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc !!! This is our first cruise, but Dawn and family have kept me and DH up on all the information we need. I'm still waiting for a "steal" on snorkel equipment prices; let me know if you come across anything good!

12 weeks today I'll be hopping the parks (I'm going to try to convince my mom to do all but the Studios in one day!).

Has anyone sailed in November before? I'm wondering how cold it gets on deck at night. I hadn't even thought about it and my mom started talking about looking for a nice sweater to bring. She sailed Europe and the west coast of Africa. I have only sailed the Mexican Riviera and for the life of me can't remember if it was cold on deck at night. I can't even remember if I went out on deck past sunset. I know it was cold on deck one day when we had foggy rainy weather on an at-sea day.

I still can't decide if I'm going to bring my own. I really should do what you are doing and look for a good deal on new stuff...at least smaller fins. I have massive fins from when I first started SCUBA diving. Plus I have to wear them with boots which is fine in cold water but lame in warm water. Hmmm...maybe I can find a good deal on those full foot fins. I guess I'm adding one more thing to my shopping list!

Boy... I miss a few days and you guys are posting crazy again!!! Jen, I was just talking to Kim about the final payment and she was going to call everyone that hasn't made their final payment yet. Final payment is due 60 days before cruise so 9/14/04 is when it is due. It was suggested that we pay about a week earlier just in case (sometimes credit card issues bank issues and so on) and maybe it will help our papers arrive early (wishful thinking, I guess). We can also book our excursions 60 days out too. I believe our co-ordinator will take care of that but I haven't spoken with her yet. She was just assigned today. I haven't been able to chat lately, been too busy with all these kids!!! I have my brother's kids while they are in Vegas. Boy, what a handful! Jen - if you need anything let me know and I will get in touch with Kim (we are going to a baseball game tonight sponsored by her office). Wish me luck, they are giving away a free cruise!!!

Chat later!!!

I sailed on the Magic in November 2001. It was fairly chilly at the sailaway, but the rest of the trip I was fine. If you are cold sensitive (like my dh is), then you should bring a sweater for walking the decks at night. It was very (very!) warm at all the ports, especially St. Maarten.

The seas were a bit rougher in November. In August, last year, the sea was like glass the whole trip. In '01 we had some waves, so plan on bringing something for seasickness. My sister and I are prone to seasickness, so I brought scopolomine patches on that trip, and they did the trick. I plan to bring it this time too. Last year I bought these "zapper" wrist bands, and they worked very well for the 10 minutes I was seasick. (the first night)

Also on that November trip, we did not get in to Castaway Cay. The seas were too rough. There were some disappointed folks, but most of us understood, and the crew did some fine entertainment for us that day.

On the August trip, we were able to dock at Castaway Cay, :Pinkbounc but it rained on and off during the afternoon (very tropical :D ) Of course that didn't bother us at all, but there was a lady in front of my dh, at customer service, demanding her cruise money back because it rained on Castaway Cay.:earseek:  It takes all kinds I guess (sigh).

Thanks for the info. I'm not that sensitive to cold, being from Canada and all. My mom has spent at least 5 months in Africa each year for the past four years so she's not as used to cold as I am!

I do suffer from motion sickness but even on the rough days of my only cruise I was okay (but I did take medication and ginger tablets). The wristbands don't really work for me (my worst motion sickness is in taxi cabs and rental cars).

Okay, demanding your money back because of weather is ridiculous. However, I really hope we don't have the problem docking at Castaway Cay. That would be really disappointing for me. I would rather skip one of the other ports...if I had to and got a choice! Anyone have any idea how often they have to skip CC?

Welcome aboard CorieDorie:bounce: :Pinkbounc

We are a great bunch and I feel like I know everybody too. Can't wait to meet in person.

Well we booked our character breakfast for our WDW portion of the trip. Donald's Breakfasaures at Animal Kingdom. Wanted to do Cinderella's Royal Table but it was already booked solid.

Oh well. hopefully the WDW breakfast won't be as rushed as the one onboard.

I am packing jackets for both girls, DD8 is always cold. At our first night dinner last cruise we have a pic of her covered up with our napkins, she was so cold.

John and I will, of course, have our custom made DCL jackets with us, just in case.

I did that breakfast the first time I went to Animal Kingdom. I found it to be very different from the other breakfasts I've been too. That's not a bad thing, by the way....just different. I liked the character selection and they had cool outfits. I love when I get pics of characters in different outfits.

My favourite breakfast ever was the Under the Sea breakfast at the Coral Reef restaurant (too bad it didn't last). It was a great way to eat by the tank (and not pay normal Coral Reef prices) and they had SCUBA diving Mickey come by (awesome!). The characters (Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale, ....Donald, I think...it was a long time ago) were in beach wear. Goofy signed my autograph book and put a SCUBA mask around the two "o"s in his name to make a face.

I'm still trying to decide where to eat on the Friday and Saturday but don't think I'll be doing a character breakfast this time.

I liked the Cindarella Castle breakfast mainly b/c it was SO COOL to be able to go into the castle - lots of people don't even know that's an option!

I enjoyed the Pooh and friends b'fast in Crystal Palace, and think I might sign up for that one for my October visit.

Not character but...last time we had ressies for the dinner buffet at Hollywood & Vine; food was good (dessert I recall as being great!) and got "reserved seating" for Fantasmic - well worth it!

Re: Konk Kooler, Linda - lol; but of course!

I haven't done the Cinderella one. She is actually one of my least favourite princesses. However, I am very curious about the inside of the castle. I think that would be cool.

I did the Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic package thingy last fall. I thought it was a great deal. The food was good and it's great to not have to worry about finding a seat for Fantasmic.

I'm not a princess-person. more into Pooh and Peter Pan. The characters in the castle were Peter & Wendy, Alice in Wonderland & friends, Snow White (I think). Cindy must've been there too; I can't remember.

Was just IM'ing w/ Sarah and Linda. Tried to get onto jk rowling's site, but my dial up just couldn't cut it (i'm so cheap! someday I'll give in and get cable...) Sigh; will have to wait til monday when I'm at work; lol!

Just wanted to let everyone know that my missing payment was returned to sender and arrived today at home. Will be sending it back out to the proper address today and hopefully it will arrive in plenty of time. Luckily I didn't procrastinate sending the payment in the first place!

John...good luck with the college thing. I'm looking at going back part-time myself. I can't decide between programs though. The one I really want to do would take forever to finish and it's not available online so I would have to start in January (with all of the travelling I'm doing this fall). I'd really like to do a program that would give me another degree but it's too expensive. It's a Catch 22 that you have to spend money to make more money! In my case, it's more that I hate my job and want to do something different.

But here's the deal... we all have to do it together!!! And, we have to have a reason to WANT to lose the weight (besides the good health, blah, blah, blah....) SO...
The last one to lose 17 pounds has to buy the first round of drinks for our DIS meet!! Sound like a plan??

:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

Now, the details....

Those who are in can report in at the end of the week and (as long as Ed agrees.....) we can have him post on the website our loss from now (just to clarify... only our LOSS NOT our weight!!). Perhaps a bar graph... what do you think Ed? We will all be winners but the last one will have to buy the others competing a round of drinks. Tell me what you think?!?!?! :teeth:

Since I can't even afford to be a paying member of Weight Watchers, I'm going to have to opt out of this. While I am confident that I won't be the last to lose, I'm not confident enough to risk it. Is there an adage about not going to a casino if you can't afford to lose your money? Well, if not, there should be and this is along the same lines for me unfortunately. Weight loss costs enough on its own having to buy all new clothes. Sorry :( I'll be doing it along with you and cheering you all on though.

We challengers can have a little separate dismeet for our drinks and extra cheesecake! (and souffle, and crepes, and mickey bars, and, and, and.... ) Maybe we should meet at the dessert buffet?:teeth:

Hey Trish, your dh is making mine look bad!:p ;)

[COLOR=royalblue]Not only is Disneydreamer1970 loosing weight, this dh is gonna try to not embarass her. The entire weight loss thing is a great idea, but really? does it matter when we get on board that our plates are mounded over with deep fried cheese stuff? and chocholate smothered love'in stuff? Heck I will eat Mickey's ears if they have chocholate on them. Maybe that does not sound so good. :jester:

Thanks. Well today we ended up evacuating my office building and I had to walk down 42 flights of stairs...so I may actually have a good loss week! Of course, in two days, I won't be mobile at all!

LOL, Jeanna! I think we are going to have a wonderful cruise.

Wow, Tara, I feel for you. I once had to evacuate a building and walk down 20 flights of stairs. I could hardly walk for a week--the thighs, oh the thighs!

I used to live on the 16th floor and would wonder two days after a fire alarm why my legs were so sore. After doing the 42 flights during last year's black out, I KNEW exactly why I couldn't walk!! I'm heading upstairs right now to take a hot bath with some epsom salts. Hopefully that will help as I have a busy weekend ahead of me and don't want to spend it in bed instead.

Watch out friends, you may never be the same after this cruise!!!

My wife may have bumped her head. She thinks she is going to win a belly flop contest. I just want everyone to know that I am a man of my word. I actually lost a card game while camping a couple of years ago. the bet was that I had to wear my opponents bright green thong. She is smaller then me. I lost so I wore it. I think DW liked it. Anyone that is on this Cruz, and lives by a fire station, maybe you can pick me up a t-shirt or patch. The t-shirt should be sized XL. If you can reply to me before my DF and I leave, I can bring an exchange or cash 10.00 max. Hey susan, what is a tag? or should I know? Disneydreamer1970 can probably tell me, but im here slaving at work, she is finally getting a well deserved day off.

Last year was my first year playing. It was awesome. I was 1 of 2 girls, but the other girl didn't do to good. I made it to the playoffs. And one guy, who is in our league again this year, only lost 1 regular season game, TO ME.

This year I am the only girl in our league and I'm hoping to kick some serious male bootie. Have a pretty good line-up right now.

Sarah has even agreed to let me come to her stateroom on sunday morning and change my line-up for week 10.

I love football season, it's my favorite winter sport.(outdoor) :lovestruc

Good luck DisneyDreamer1970, maybe me, you and Jen can get together to watch some of the game on Sunday. We'll have to see how it goes.

That amount may seem easy, but I LOVE sweets!!! And it is hard to stay away from them!!! Good Luck to ALL of you with your weight loss!

BTW ya'll, my DH started Fantasy Football yesterday! This is his first year in a LONG TIME! At least him and Rick will have something to talk about now, Jeanna! LOL

MY DS is so trilled about meeting all of your kids on the cruise! He has received a couple of e-mails and has gotten very excited!

I made the mistake of showing DW a picture of a friend that is a firefighter in Providence. He posed in a charity calendar with other firefighters. she has it as her computer wall paper now lol I urge you all to buy the calendar. it helps the cause. (maybe I will be in a calendar someday) LOL

My cruise is paid off! Oh wait..that's wrong. I'll be paying for this cruise for quite awhile. My final payment has been received by DCL!! Woo hoo! Now I can stop checking my reservation every day. Oh wait...that's wrong too...I still have a GTY cabin!! :)

I'm down one lonely pound from last week. :( I'm sad that it's not more but also happy because yesterday it looked like I might gain this week and I haven't gained since my cruise/DL trip in March.

As for formal night, I have fabric I'm not crazy about and haven't found a pattern I really like. Wish I could afford to buy something...oh well. I'll come up with something.

Feenie, your dress is gorgeous. All the formal girls will have to get together for a photo. We will all look stunning together.

Jeanna, come on, you can figure out how to get a pic on here, or just take one and send it to Ed to post.

Tara, congradulations on your payment getting there, your payment worries are no more. Feels good doesn't it. Pixie dust your way for hopes of getting an upgrade on your GTY. I am also impressed that you are creating your own formal dress. Can't wait to see what you come up with. (I'm lucky if I can sew on a button)

I'm still at the same weight I was last weekend. I weigh in on Sunday. I think some of it is water retention, if you ladies know what I mean. yippee, but the race is on.

I will get a pic posted soon. I have to first take a picture of it. That is my problem. I have been busy getting everyone's affairs in order for the cruise for my family. That is a lot of people!! :earseek: I hope to have all the final payments in by the end of this week for all of them to get it out of the way. Then, Kim can send us all the final paperwork from her office. Maybe, it will help get our final docs, too! We now have our co-ordinator (I don't remember her name, though) so she will be helping us out in getting everything set. She makes sure everyone has their final payments in time because if not, they cancel you!!! Wouldn't want that!!! Actually, when I called DCL worried about my payment with the whole wrong address thing, they told me that they would call you before cancelling. Of course, I booked directly with them so maybe that's why. Then again, maybe that was more wrong information. I have read on the boards, though, that they didn't get cancelled for not getting payment in on time. I still didn't want to take that risk.

Hi thanks for all the welcomes. My name is Debbie, DH is Buddy and my DD is Aubrey. She will be 2.5 at cruise time. We are very excited! Yes, this is our first cruise ever!!!
As for the family, not a chance. My inlaws are not the "grandparents" type and my mom just drives me nuts! Anyway, we did the "family" vacation for Aubrey's bday in May (moms day) and the inlaws made sure to ruin it. We went to DisneyWorld. Thank God they only stayed 2 days. We had the rest of the week to ourselves. Long story, but even DH doesn't have anything to do with them now. In addition to all that mess, my DH was hit by an 18 wheeler in January. Needless to say we are ready for a stress free vacation.

Can I ask if any of you or your spouses will be playing golf in ST Thomas? DH is taking the excursion leaving me and Aubrey to fin for ourselves. Do You think I should try an excursion of my own, just me and Aubrey while he is on the course? Or do you think I will be safe to wonder on my own with her? I have been to Nassau before and would not feel safe just she and I walking around there. I don't know anything about ST Thomas though. Any of you past cruisers have some info on that?

Thanks! I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome aboard adisneymama:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My DH is wearing a tux, we're renting it from www.cruiselineformal.com

I got myself and DD8 and DD4 beautiful dresses, fairly cheap, on ebay. The girls dresses I bought outright for terrific prices, and mine I fought tooth and nail down to the last second of an auction.

We are a great bunch. Some of us have been chatting over a year and can't wait to meet everybody in person. You have found yourself sailing with some really fun people.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to getting to know all of you and meeting you on the cruise.

I will be traveling with my DH, DS15, DD14, DS9 (who will turn 10 during the cruise), DS7, DS5 and DS3. We also have my DD21, her DH and their DS6mos. traveling with us as well.
We are arriving in Cocoa Beach on the 11th to relax and spend some time on the beach before the cruise. We are looking forward to meeting everyone!

FYI, several families are staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise....are you there?
