1st night w/o reservation

We are driving from WI and are staying on the Disney grounds, but I'm looking for somewhere to stay the night before our Disney reservation starts. Any ideas where we can walk in and get a good rate for a clean, inexpensive room? We have AAA and Entertainment card.

We don't want to make a reservation anywhere just in case we don't make it to Orlando that night.

How about staying at one the Downtown Disney Hotels the first night. The hotel special page on this site has Courtyard By Marriott for 39.00 dollars.

when you get on the florida turnpike - take the first exit - that will put you on US 27 - about 24 miles later (might be a little longer - I will check on our trip August 31) - you will see a fairly big sign - WDW - US 192 - you turn to the right - this is an exit to US192

you will be on US192 for around 7 miles (might be less) - but along this road are bunches and bunches of hotels - find one that you like - most will have vancies by the 15th and later - on the town name is Kissimmee - if you want to look it up in the WWW book (it is listed under Orlando - Kissimmee)

so you can look at what is availability. also remember to get the Florida hotel discounts at the Rest stops in Florida.

If you are really against making a reservation (the best way to find a deal). Then go to www.roomsaver.com you can print up really good discount coupons for free. They are only good for walk-in's. Some have other restricitions (like weekends or holidays being exempt). It may be a good way to still get a decent price on a hotel.
