Have you thought about the 2 park Annual Power Pass, it has some blackout dates but they don't incude your stay, it's $109.95 on the Universal site look here (https://tickets.universalstudios.com/USRG/us_store_secure2.jsp?merchant=UO)

We got this last year :)

For this years hols we bought one preferred pass to get free parking and discounts in shops/eateries etc and the rest of us got the Annual power passes.:)
