Have been checking airfare for the past month out of MCI (non-stop on Delta or SW) or STL (TWA) but didn't book as my teenage daughter wasn't sure which friend could go with her. At that time Delta was $199, now its $341, SW is now $247, and TWA is $261. Have I waited too long or will there be any price reductions for the end of July-first of August? I also checked about flying into Tampa but it's only a few dollars cheaper.

Any suggestions?

If worse comes to worse, we'll drive as we got super rates at the Beach Club--$169 per night. What's the price of gas between Missouri and Florida? Its $1.75 per gallon in central MO.

Thanks!

For non-stop out of Kansas city, I would grab a fare of $199 if it shows up. Make sure you purchase at least 21 days ahead, because as you get closer than 21 days, the fares tend to increase.

If your willing to have a connection (most likely in Memphis or Minneapolis), you can get a fare of between $168-228 on www.airoutlet.com This site is owned by Northwest Airlines so you will be on Northwest flights.
I tried some dates and came up with fares averaging about $205 RT total.

Keep watching! thank goodness my DH found the Delta flight out of Stl yesterday ($187 total) We have decided to drive in July and take an extra week but we were still trying to find a flight for my Sister.

Keep trying, we have watched for 2 months and seen many good rates but kept holding out. (I'm not sure why) but we were excited to get this! We were alerted of this price by Travelocity. Sign up for the e-mail updates. Might help you out! Good Luck!

we still have more sales coming up and since both SW and us started something this weekend there should be more carriers responding.

Thanks everyone for giving me some hope that all is not lost yet. Each day I check Delta and SW out of MCI and TWA out of STL because those are non-stop. I also check Travelocity, Expedia and Lowest Fares.

It really depends on the days of the week you are flying. If they are midweek, you may be able to get a better fare. If they are weekend days, probably not at this late date.

You might try hotwire. I found airfare from DFW to MCO on Hotwire for $148 rt, then went to priceline and bid $138. rt. GOT IT!!!! We are flying Delta non-stop. I bought these about 6 weeks ago, now the price for the same flight is $553. rt. Hope you can get a good price with this tip.;) :bounce: ;) :bounce: ;) :bounce:
