Congratulation Penny on your new position :)

So, what does a 'Webmaster' do exactly?

07-31-2003, 09:18 AM
Should it not be Webmistress??? LOL:p

Well done

Thanks everyone :)

I think I'm going to call you 'Sharp-eyed Shaun' from now on ;)

Blimey...what does a WM do? As little as she can get away with hopefully, LOL!

There is no defined job-spec Tim. I am one member of a team of people on the site who, generally speaking, gets involved if perhaps there is a grey-area with a post and the board guidelines, or maybe if there is a big dispute about something and it turns mean. In the main, it's just an advisory thing - it's often a lot easier to offer a fresh opinion or calming influence on something when you are not in the middle of the war yourself ;) There is also an element of admin behind the scenes too - I'd love to tell you what, but then I'd have to kill you :p

It add's a deeper and broader, site-wide aspect to my 'job' which I'm looking forward to - but the UK boards will always be home :)

Congratulations Penny. :)

Not weird at all Kazzie, I was a Mod on the Restaurants and Technical Boards. Infact, I still am! The WM aspect is in addition to my normal duties and covers all boards - for want of a better word, I got a promotion :)

Well done Penny,

How much spare time have you got then :)

This Admin business grabs you by the throat and doesnt let go :p

Spot on, Penny :)

I just heard that phrase on some British show I was watching. I really have no idea if I used it right, but it sounds just swell :) . I mean "well done" if spot on isn't correct LOL

OK Lorraine, but only on this board. You'd get some strange looks if you say that over here, especially in your Yankee meets the South accent. ;)

Thanks for telling us what a "Webmaster" is Penny. I hadn't a clue, but it looks impressive. Kinda Obi Wanish. :p
