Hi there...

Just found my way to this forum this morning and thought I would join in!

(if there is an official meet thread I must have missed it so I will introduce myself here!)

I am 38 and mom to 5 kids (2,8,14,16,17). Also 2 step kids who come by a couple hours a week.

I would like to lose (gulp) 75 pounds. I recently tried the Atkins program and had some success. I want to lift weights and get in some serious shape since I tend towards a muscular frame anyway. My hubby has recently decided that he wants to become a full time personal trainer and purchased a ton of professional equipment so it only makes sense for me to utilize it. On the Atkins program I REALLY did not have the energy to out put the kind of stamina I needed for serious body building. (Atkins people...Please don't yell me.. I really enjoyed Atkins and loved eating the protein and fat, but it doesn't support body building in the way I need it too).

I turned to Body for Life (after seeing a lady on "I Lost It", discovery health channel show, go from a FAT FAT FAT 250 to winning body building competions..I was so floored since she started out fatter than me and she looked FABULOUS when she was done).

I have lost 10 pounds so far between time on Atkins and Body for Life. I hope I can come here and meet people and share the trails and pain in the rumps that come with losing weight!

BTW... I am a serious Disney lover too... guess I wouldn't be here if I wasn't!!!

Hello Melora, welcome to the DIS and most importantly welcome to the WISH family. It is always great to have another loser on board! I am familiar with Body for Life, my friend follows this program and I use the Body for Life theory when I am working with weights, however, for eating I am following Weight Watchers as I started it (and liked it) before I knew anything about Body for Life. Congratulations on the weight you have already lost, that is a great start. It is nice to "meet" you, hope to see you around WISH more often.

Welcome to WISH!

The support here is great, so post here often. This is a great way to loose weight. Between your "own personal trainer" and the WISH support group, that 75 lbs does not stand a chance. It will be gone in no time.

Again welcome,
Melanie
