Are there any special food storage needs while camping at FW. I read one post about someone seeing a racoon.

No there is nothing special in the way of food storage at FW. We always keep our refrigerator outside and have never had a problem with anything getting into it. I don't think I have ever seen an animal even get into the garbage cans in the campground.

We use the same precautions that we use when camping anywhere. Keep food secure and out of sight. You shouldn't have any problems.
Not that there aren't lots of critters in and around FW. You are likely to see deer, peacocks, squirrels, rabbits, and armadillos. There is a family of raccoons that hang out near the campfire begging the CMs for popcorn. Occasionally the early morning bus drivers report sightings of a panther in the area.

You will want to secure your bread and other food items that are in plastic bags. On our last trip we came back to the site one day to find a bold squirrel sitting in our chair eating our bread. He did not even run away he just sat there laughing and eating.:smooth: :smooth:
