Has anyone rented from National lately? I found a good deal with them, but we haven't used them in years.

Are they keeping nice cars on the lots? Do they share with Alamo at MCO?

Thanks!

We rented from them last Feb. Cars were very nice and their cars are separate from Alamo's.

Ok, I have to ask, what did you see on the full size aisle?

I used them in May with no problems. I almost always use National. I had an intermediate car, which was a Toyota Corolla LE and I LOVED it! It was me & grama, and there was lots of room for our lugage and the rented scooter! The car was brand new (2600 miles on it) and very clean!

Gail, I seen a few Grand Prix's and Buick Regals. In the intermidiate's there were a lot of Camry's and Gallant's.

We used them last month and had absolutely no problems. We reserved a mini-van and there was a large selection to chose from all appearing to be very new and in good condition. We have used National numerous time the last few years and have never had an issue.

Thank you for all the replies. We'll give them another chance. :) I really liked Emerald Choice the last time we rented with National, so Emerald Reserve should be just the same.

Could someone who is going down soon take a look at the luxury aisle and let me know what the selection is like? Last time we used National, there were two Park Avenues sitting there (the one we chose was in bad shape, it must have been driven really rough - but we didn't really notice until we got to WDW).

Thanks!

Since when are Camrys classified as intermediate?! Not questioning your claim, just surprised. If I really thought I could get a Camry, I might reserve intermediate rather than full-size.

Depends on the luck of the draw I think - We were there the last week of June - no Camry's - lots of Galants on the Emerald Aisle.

We rented from National the beginning of July. The car was in great shape, and everything went smoothly. We rented a fullsize, so we went directly to the full size aisle. There were mostly Chevy Luminas and a few Buick Regals. We luckily found a Dodge Intrepid that was just being returned to the aisle, so we took that, since it is much larger.

I had a 2003 Camry LE all this past week that I got from the Emerald Aisle. Returned it yesterday. I actually liked driving it so much I may now buy one. :) But it is definitely available as an intermediate selection, not a full size.

Luminas? They don't make Luminas anymore. I am hoping for either an Impala or Regal. Both have HUGE trunks.

I rented a Camry in May and it was classified as full size on my receipt, I got it from the full size aisle. They move cars around between Intermediate/Full Size/EA. I don't consider a Malibu a full size but they do.

GoldenOldie - I bought one a little over a month later! Love it! Good deals right now - $1,000 rebate, I also got another $1,700 off from the dealer (Camry's are usually not discounted much).

Thanks. I just browsed some of my local area dealer's web sites. Seems even used 2003 Camrys (with < 10K miles) are going in the $17-$18K range. I did like that car a lot but I'm not sure I want to incur that kind of debt right now. But I'll keep looking. Never say never. ;)

So, what brands of cars does National have? Chevy, Toyota, Dodge, Buick, Pontiac, and Mitsubishi? Wondering what type of luxury car we'll get this time. :)

Call them and ask what they have at Orlando for vehicles.
