We had to change our dates around a little for our trip in October.
We're staying longer:D

We were able to add on a few nights in an OKW 2br to our stay at VWL.

Is there a biking or jogging path at or near OKW?

Any other suggestions.

We will be checking in on a Monday. We are arriving in FL late on Sunday evening but we have decided to wait until Monday to check-in. Do you that that is a good decision?

Thanks:D

they use to have a pretty nice jogging path - but since that went through the DI - I don't know if it is there or not. This was 1 mile or 3 miles or 5 miles - depending upon the route you took.

I don't think the bikes can go off OKW property - not sure on this one.

the sidewalks around OKW are also nice for an early morning run or walk.

you can always take the path to DD. In the morning - no one would be there.

Thanks:D

I just wanted some place for DH to warm up on his bike for his race but he will probably just drive to Clermont and do that.

It looks like it will be pretty easy to get to Clermont from OKW.

I know we'll probably fall in love with the 2br.

Good luck to DH in the race! Post back afterwards to tell us if he is happy with his finish.

He's not even sure if he will finish. This is his first Ironman distance triathlon and he knows he can do the swim and the bike but is unsure if he will be able to complete the run.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will pass it along to him.

We're scheduled to go to MNSSHP the next day. We'll see.

Even TRAINING and ENTERING an Ironman is the mark of tremendous courage. My hat is off to him and to you for supporting him in this worthwhile goal. Next thing you know he'll be in Kona for the big one!!

Yes,

He's trying for 2005 in Hawaii. It will take me that long to get the courage up to fly again. :(

Since most of his races are in Florida, the kids and I get a vacation after every race. ;) So I don't mind so much that he decided to take up the sport. I just wish it was a little cheaper.

We love Big Island. I will feel lucky to even WATCH an Ironman there someday! The flight is a marathon in itself. (It is Hawaii's way of avoiding too many visitors!);)
