We are driving from Atlanta to Port Canaveral. We usually take 75 South to the turnpike to get to Orlando and figured we would do this to Port Canaveral. I have printed out Mapquest directions saying to take 75 to I-10 toward Jacksonville and go down I-95. Does anyone know which would be the fastest route?

Both routes are nearly identical in distance. Both depend on the traffic (when you decide to travel).

Note that I-95 is under construction for the entirety of I-95 in St. Johns County. There can be delays due to construction. Also, a crane hit a northbound overpass bridge on I-95 yesterday, which is bound to effect southbound travel also (if temporary detours are necessary).

If you are travelling right away, you might consider the I-75 / Turnpike / SR 408 (Beeline) route. You will have toll stops, but should avoid most construction. However I recently drove the I-95 / I-295 / I-10 route and sailed right through - Luck of the draw?

Happy motoring and drive safe!

We've gone both ways. I prefer I-10 to I-95. BTW, depending on the time of day, it's often faster to take I-10 directly to I-95 rather than taking I-295 on that big circle route around the south side of Jax.

Thanks for all the info. We are leaving early tomorrow morning and I think I will take the turnpike since I know the route on the way down. I am thinking I will try I-95 on the way home for a change of pace.
