Hello everyone,

Can you please tell me what you think of Dr Doom compared to TOT....I have ridden TOT once...after a few years of working myslef up to it.....ha ha! And this September I am hoping to get up enough nerve to ride Dr Doom.....are they drops similar? How does the ride compare? Or can they be compared....Thanks......:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Dr. Doom's Fearfall is similiar to a lot of S&S spacshot rides out there. TOT is heavily themed and gives a good amount of airtime. Fearfall isn't as heavily themed, but it does give good airtime. Fearfall seems like a much shorter ride than TOT too.

IMO they are totally different rides. I've riden the TOT since it was rehashed this year, it now has 4 random drop sequences and I can't wait to ride it.
Dr Doom is over very quickly, I favour TOT as there is more to it (as Barry Hom has already mentioned) and even the staff(if you get the right ones) help the atmosphere of the ride.
Overall I'm a big IOA fan though :)

The biggest difference is that TOT drops you down very quickly, where Dr. Doom shoots you up very quickly and then lets you down quite softly;the drop part is really nothing. I find Doom easier and much less scary than TOT where the whole ride is in the fast drop.

In short, Doom shoots you up, TOT shoots you down.

Actually the cars on ToT are being pulled down and not "dropped".

But the TOT brings you up again and drops you, then it does it again ;)

Whenever the car "drops" it is actually pulled down and whenever the car goes up it is pulled up by motors above the ride. It is never really "dropped."

I found Dr Doom to be scarier than ToT. The sensations are different on both rides. Being shot up feels worse to me because you feel like you're going to keep going, and you really hold on tight, at least I did! On ToT, I held my arms up when we were "dropped" and it was exciting, but not scary.

I thought the anticipation of being shot up on Dr. Doom was the worst part. I liked both TOT and Dr. Doom!

:p Yeah!

I hate it most when you get to the very top and it the car stops going up but YOU DON'T and so you are lifted off your seat for a bit. Very scary. But fun fun fun!!! I love it (I know I said I hated it but...I actually like it. Do I make sense? lol).

But yeah it shoots your up. It's not a fast drop. The ride is VERY short and after the first take off the rest of the ride is just relaxing everytime you go back up a little bit, it isn't fast anymore. But that's OK. Don't know how much more people could handle. :p

This is called airtime.

Do you want more airtime? Stick your arms and legs out just before launching. :)

OMG! For real?? I'd probably freak out because I'm only 5'1" so the airtime feels worse because the restraints and harness are a bit big for me!! :p I'll have to see if I have the guts next time I go!!

Try it! You'll get a few more seconds of airtime.

Do you want more airtime on the Hulk? Sit in the double-strap seat.

There's another way to get good air-time. Bring the harness down until you can click the belt in. You should have a large gap. Most Latverian Officials will push the harness down on you, though, so it makes it harder to maintain. If you can get it with a big gap, you hafta hold the harness out. If not, the harness will be forced down as it goes up. This will get you serious air-time. I've done that maybe 3x.
