I have never taken advantage of pool hopping and believe that my next trip will be a good opportunity to do so.
As I am not staying at BCV and will not have SAB as an option, I was curious to see which pools everyone would most like to "Hop" to.
In addition, if anyone is so inclined, a description of why you like a particular pool (i.e., Great Slide, quiet and relaxing, interesting surroundings, not crowded, etc.) would be aprreciated.
Although I have not hopped, from my past (pre-DVC life) existence, I always liked the old watering hole atmosphere of the pool at POR.
Thanks for your responses!

Although it seems people like Poly and CSR, why?
what is it about those pools that would make me want to spend some time there?
Maybe....just maybe....people are not all that impressed by the "benefit" of being able to hop?

they both have very nice slides
so does the Grand Floridian new pool - but that is not on his list.

When we hop we usually hop to CSR because the pool is HUGE and never seems to be crowded. I have never tried the slide, but it does seem nice.

I always just hop on down to the pool at the resort I'm staying at. To me, pool hopping just never seemed to be worth the bother.

Our home resort is the Boardwalk and the kids love the pool there because of the coaster slide but it can be crowded and there are sometimes not enough chairs.
IMHO the best pool is the Polynesian. My family always spends one day there each visit. The kids enjoy the pool because of the volcano and the music under the water. The surroundings are very nice, with plenty of chairs, the pool bar, hammocks on the beach and the marina to take a boat out on Seven Seas Lagoon.
There is a locker room with showers.
They have Captain Cook's for a quick bite, and Kona's and Ohana's if you are staying around for dinner.
At night you can watch the water pagaent and the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from the beach.
Enjoy!

I agree pool hopping does seem to be a bit of a bother if you are leaving your hotel just to pool hop. But it becomes more convenient when you couple it with another activity (example: spending the morning at the MK then taking the boat over to the WL to swim for a few hours, then head back to the MK. Or spending the day at AKL and hitting CS for a dip on the way back to your resort.) It makes for a nice change of pace.

Hi,
Like the poll poster, I have never thought to pool hop. In fact, I had just learned that you could do it on our last trip. So this is interesting!

I listed the Polynesian...it's a nice pool and we have pool hopped there combined with a MK visit (just as donald@home described). We took a swim bag with us to MK, stuck it in a locker and then when the park started getting crowded, we took the monorail over to the Poly.
They have a nice zero entry pool, good slide, nice sand beach and a great view of Seven Seas Lagoon and MK. I would think that Grand Floridian would work for all the same reasons.
The best pool in the resort is SAB. We also really like AKL, but Poly was our choice on this list.

Voted BW because we do EPCOT until around 2, walk to BW and dive in for an hour or so. Then walk to MGM for the night. Its great in August when its 91 degrees. The others would be as posted above, MK until 2, then WL, POLY or GF pool for a few hours, then back to MK for the night. A wonderfull perk.

We haven't tried your plan above yet, but it sounds great and is the big reason I hope the perk remains.
