Ever Switched Resorts upon arrival?

Have any of you ever arrived only to be to see - hey this ain't gonna cut it! Then requested a move to a different RESORT? Not rooms - but resort?

I know it could cost more, but wondering if anyone has ever done this?

We did this last trip, We switched from Coronado Springs, To AKL savannah view.

and it cost us LESS money.

Last year, we decided to try something different from our usual. Our usual being YC or BC. So we booked the Grand Floridian. We arrived late on a Saturday night - about 10 p.m. The resort is lovely, really. But when we woke up we decided we missed Stormalong Bay and the Epcot Resort area. So, we called and switched to BC. Of course, getting a credit in this instance.

The CM's were very helpful with our switch.

Yep, we did it on our last trip too.

We started out at the Polynesian and after a couple of days, we switched to WL. CM's were very helpful. I was worried because I got one of those emailed codes. They applied it to our WL stay as well.

I haven't done this, but I wish I had! In January we stayed 5 nights at ASMu and 5 nights at AKL (savannah view). I spent the entire stay at ASMu wishing I were somewhere--anywhere!--else, but never thought to ask the front desk to change resorts. I guess I thought it would be way too expensive, since the room gets paid for at check-in. I will never make this mistake again!

The only good thing was that AKL seemed even more heavenly when we got there.

We did this in January '02. We had booked 2 nights at AKL and then 4 nights at CR. CR never really appealed to us, but we needed 2 rooms at each resort, and CR was $20 cheaper per room per night than the Poly (where I really wanted to stay) and we really wanted to stay on the monorail.

After our 2 wonderful nights at the Poly and a long day at MK, we checked into CR. The staff we encountered was not friendly or helpful, and we just hated the rooms - we found them so ugly and just not our style at all. So...DH kindly called the Poly and we were able to get 2 gv rooms there and went right over. We just loved our stay at the Poly - it was so worth the extra couple hundred dollars.

Oh -- we had our luggage transferred from AKL to CR that morning, so then CR just transferred it over to the Poly that evening.--

We spent one night at CBR and hated it. We switched to WL. CBR and CRO gave us a hard time and tried to talk us into staying at CBR, but they finally realized I wasn't going to back down.
