Hi H5ty,
I finally found the right thread. I got your PM and it sounds good. My kids are out of town right now though; I'll have Heather write when she gets back. Hey, I see you are in Phoenix, we are practically neighbors! :)

Are there any others out there for the 10/30/04 sailing?

Heather (turning 11 on cruise)
Caitlin (will be 7 at time of cruise)
Ainslee (will be 3 at time of cruise)

08-06-2003, 02:21 AM
Glad you found the tread. Yes, we are almost neighbors. Looks like we both live 1 mile from the sun. Looking forward to chatting with you and others that will be on this sailing. Let me know when the kids are back, so we can get them together (sorta speak). Here is the family:

Breana will be 11 by the time of the cruise, Brenden will actually have his 8 year birthday the day we disembark(go figure). We are planning a little birthday party for him aboard the ship on Friday night.

08-10-2003, 09:56 PM
h5ty ~ We haven't booked yet, but are 99% sure we'll be sailing on the Magic 10/30/04 - 11/6/04.

I have a Brendan who'll be almost 9 at the time of the cruise. B-day is 12/19/95.

Our crew will probably be: me, DH, DS, FIL, MIL, GMIL, BIL, SIL, nephew (almost 2 by cruise time). And maybe a few others.

This will be our first time on the Magic. We were on the Wonder in Nov. '01.

Any ideas what they will do for Halloween?

08-11-2003, 05:23 AM
My mum and I are planning on talking my dad into letting us book for next Halloween when we're onboard this year.

If we manage it there will be
Karen (my mum who may just kill me if I post her age)
Mark (my dad)
Emma, 16 by then (me!)
James, 14
Oliver, 14

Fingers crossed we'll see you there!

08-12-2003, 03:03 AM
From what I have read about Halloween cruises from other threads they do have activties. They have T or T'ing, costume contests for both children and adults I believe. Another idea is for those that are sailing on this cruise to have our own stateroom to stateroom T or T'ing amoungst our group. If we can get enough people to sign on to the idea, then we can work out the details through this board. I am thinking that if we get enough people signed on this tread, that we can have a DIS gathering if everybody is interested. I have read were other cruises have meet for DIS gatherings at various locations and times. Maybe this is also something we can all work out prior to sailing.

08-12-2003, 07:33 AM
Hi All!!!!!
We'll be there, me Ginger, DH Bill and DD Ashley who will be 7-3/4 on our sailing date. It will be our 4th Halloween cruise with DCL.

Gerald thank you for getting this thread started.

I am sure we will have plenty of folks signed on by the time we sail.
A Trick-or-Treat for our children is a must-do. In the past ours have been much better than DCLs, less crowed.

Emma I am sure you and your Mum can talk your Dad into number 3 Halloween Cruise. It just wouldn't be the same without you.

Start thinking about those costumes.

08-12-2003, 07:44 AM
We'll be there!!! It me, my DH Darren, DD Julianna will be 6 1/2, and DS Brandon will be 3 1/2. We're looking forward to sailing!!! This will be out second DCL cruise!!

08-12-2003, 01:30 PM
I think it's a great idea to have trick or treating with the DIS members. I can see how it could get a little crazy with ALL the kids on the ship.

It's funny how we have a Brenden, Brendan, and a Brandon!

08-12-2003, 07:36 PM
I havent booked it or paid a depo yet, but more than likely we will be on this sailing as well. WE are going on the 2003 Halloween cruise, and that is my preferred time to cruise :-)

08-12-2003, 08:05 PM
For some reason I thought that the kids went trick or treating to all the staterooms. Am I mistaken? Is it just DIS-ers who organize something like this?

For sure we have to have a DIS meet. It makes the cruise so much more fun!

08-13-2003, 02:27 AM
Hey Bonnie,
Your kids back home now. If so would your daughter be interested in playing email tag with Breana?

08-13-2003, 02:49 AM
Hi Ginger,
Since you are quite the experienced cruiser on Halloween, perhaps your could enlighten us rookies as to the weather both in Florida and the Carribbean during this time. Don't want to pack more than we need to!!!! I am having a hard time determing what night to make a ressie for Palos. In your opinion is it best to pass on one of the regular menus nights, or pass on one of the themed night events (not counting formal/semi formal). Which menu, or which themed night.

08-13-2003, 05:30 PM
Oh well that does it then Ginger, I'll have to come! Especially if I've already joined a thread for it. You can't be getting to know me and then having me saying I'm not coming after all!

08-14-2003, 03:19 AM
If you get a chance to check out the Disney Cruise Reports, I just got back from the Western and will be on the Halloween cruise - so might be able to anwer your questions.

Note to self- Figure out what you are going to do if Dueling Pianos and Fidelio are NOT on the Magic.

(Options include scream, cry, mutiny, and letter write)

Note to self -See POC AGAIN! Order tomato soup from room service - delicious!

08-14-2003, 06:26 AM
Wow this thread is early, but I like that- maybe it will help me get my butt in gear and get my deposit in. We really want to go on this cruise! We talk the talk, but need to walk the walk. It will be me, DH, and twin DD's age 12 then. I think we'll get a quote from DU this weekend and get it going! Hope to see you all, and I will let you know for sure when we book so Breana and the twins can email. That would be fun!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

08-14-2003, 06:35 AM
Just thought I would inject a little humor.

A few statements overheard on our first cruise.

"Do these stairs go up or down?"

"How does the crew get on the ship everyday?"

"Does this elevator go UP?"

"What time is the midnight buffett?"

08-14-2003, 10:28 AM
To all experienced Halloween Cruisers,

Does DCL celebrate Halloween on more that one Cruise, we are planning on going Oct 23rd - Oct 30th

What type of activities are there? Do the kids dress up? If so how often?

This is our first time on DCL and I am having a hard time deciding what seating, what Cat etc.

There will be 3 of us, DD is 11

Cat 10 or Cat 7?? Is Cat 7 worth the extra money??

What deck?? we like quite and don't mind walking...

Thanks for any help you can give me...

08-26-2003, 08:06 AM
Just a little bump!!

08-26-2003, 10:49 AM
Hi all, Just dropping in to see who else is going with us.

I'll try to answer so of the question.

Halloween will be celebrated on the Wonder also.
In the past it has only been celebrated on the actually day with parties and T-or-Ting.

Only the Dis Folks T-or-T staterooms and only those of the people who wish to participate.

My DH and I love Palo on Saturday night, never a crowd. We will have early seating on this cruise so I see no problem with getting ressie and still going to our normal dinner with our DD. No we don't have 2 dinners just appts at the first dinner if that.
Gerald if you haven't experienced the theme nights I won't miss them. A formal or Semi I would.

The weather is something that we can not predict. The temps. are usually mid 80's to upper 90's on the islands. It is still hurricane season so pack a light jacket. Don't forget your shorts and bathing suits the water is warm. But most of all don't forget your costume, I don't suggest furry ones though.

08-26-2003, 03:30 PM
We are booked on the Oct 30th, 2004 cruise. Not sure about all the abreviations used in these forums, but my wife and I are scheduled to go along with "The Boys". Twin 5-year olds and a 9-year old. More than a year away and everyone is already excited about the trip.

08-26-2003, 09:23 PM
Welcome to the Dis Board Rick, you may find it very addicting. If your not sure what abreviations are don't be shy ask there are no stupid questions here.

Will "The Boys" be 5 and 9 at the time of the cruise or is that their ages now? I have a DD (darling daughter or dear daughter) Ashley who will be 7 3/4 at the time of the. What are their name? And your DW (dear or darling wife)'s? Yes, I am writing a book, LOL ( laughing out loud) actually I am starting our Who's Cruising With Us List. Having the list will help if we decide to have our own Disboard T-or-T (trick-or-treat) on the ship.

08-26-2003, 11:04 PM
Thanks for the reply Ginger. I was guessing the "D" stood for Disney. Darling or Dear is that much better. My wife's name is Julie. The 9 1/2-year old at time of cruise is Austin, 5 1/2 -year olds at time of cruise are Calvin and Mackay.

My kids are going to get the best Halloween ever as we plan on going to DisneyWorld the entire week before the cruise and hope to do Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween during that time. We'll look forward to trick or treating on the ship as well.

08-26-2003, 11:26 PM
Thanks for the info. Rick. I'll say that they will have a great time. We've done WDW the past 2 years for Halloween along with the Magic Cruise, always being on the ship for the actually day.

Just a suggestion do MNSSHP in the mid of the week not as crowded as a Friday night. If you have dinner reseravation at one of the restaurants in the Magic Kingdom, we like Liberty Tree Tavern, you can get in to the park early. They do close the park at 6 p.m. to the public, it is a special ticketed event. You will need to show them your MNSSHP ticket and give a reservations number to get in.
We aren't going to the parks this year before our Halloween cruise but we'll be there in January for Ashley's 7th birthday. Not sure about next year we do love MNSSHP. It's getting harder to take Ashley out of school for more than 5 days at one time. She entered 1st grade this year, she's a big girl now...LOL.

Well Rick it's been a long day on the boards so I bid you good night.

08-26-2003, 11:35 PM
Thanks for the MNSSHP info. So, if I understand you correctly, you can eat dinner in the park before the event starts, and then just stay in the park? With ticket of course.

08-27-2003, 01:58 AM
That's right Rick

08-27-2003, 03:20 AM
Hey Ginger!!
Thanks for the info about dinner. Hard decisions to make regarding dinner. We really want to do formal night with the kids as we have never sailed with them. Soooo, I am thinking we might go to Palo's for Semi night (will have to dress anyway). Hello Rick & family and welcome. I have found this forum to be a wealth of information. If you do a search for "abbreviations" and select the Tech Support Board, it will bring up a listing of most of the abbreviations used here. I printed it off as I am a newbie here and it helped me to better understand "What the heck was being said".
Have you all seen the thread regarding a new "Disney Ship". It appears that DCL is going forward with the idea. The thread in entitled "New Ship".

08-27-2003, 03:40 AM
Hey All,
I am currently participating in a thread on cruisecritic.com. It's a comedy parady of a cruise ship. If you could use a good laugh check it out. Go to cruisecritic.com, click on Boards, go to Fun Stuff and click on Floataway Lounge, click on "THE LOST BOAT" - A Not-So-Reality Show for Cruise Enthusiasts. It's a work in progress, ENJOY!!!!

08-27-2003, 08:46 AM
Hey everyone, Ginger, Emma and Rae. I knew I would find you guys here!:p We are booked for Halloween 2004, that would be our 3rd time for Halloween. It is myself, DH, DS 17(at time of cruise) DS, 14 and DD 13 and baby?. It is also my favorite time to cruise, however, we also have booked the 10 day christmas cruise and dont think I can swing both, so we are not sure which one we will do yet.

Gerald: to help you with deciding on a night for palos visit www.***************** and print out the menus for each night. then sit with your DW and decide which night has the fewest choices of what you both like and do palos on that night. That is how we decide.:p

08-27-2003, 03:04 PM
AW!!!! Dena you just have to come with us. I will be offering an excursion to the Island of Anguilla spend the day on the beautiful white beach of Shoal Bay East. The closest place on this earth to heaven. I'm going back to see my old buddy "HAIRY"

We can only hope that the menus will change before we make this cruise. It will be our 7th cruise with Disney our 4th Halloween Cruise.

08-27-2003, 03:13 PM
Ginger - is this excursion to Anguilla just so we can travel together? Because DH and I were thinking of trying to go over to Anguilla for the day to Shoal Bay East, and it would be great to have someone else to travel with!!! If that's the case, count us in!!!

08-27-2003, 03:30 PM
Yeap!!!! Jel0511 You've got the idea. No one is obligated to hang out with us. I'll get you to and from sharing the transportation cost. The last time we went 2 years ago the total cost of transportation for an adult was $53.. We got a cab to the ferry where we meet a man who had a cab on Anguilla. He took care of our transportation needs for the rest of the day. He took us on a short tour of the island on the way to the beach got us settled on the beach then arranged a pick up time with us. He was there early to help us gather our things loaded us back into his big cab van got us on the ferry back to St. Martin even went back with us got us a big Van cab back to the ship. The people on Anguilla couldn't be any nicer, just super easy going folks. I Can't wait to go back there.

08-28-2003, 03:43 AM
Hi Dena, thanks for the info. Since I have some time I will wait to see if the menu changes between now and then.

Hi Ginger, is this a good beach for the kids. Breana (11) and Brenden (8) really love the beach. We have been to Orient Beach several times but without children. Love that area, however with the clothing optional beach down the stretch we are a little concerned as far the the kids go. I know that we are "in" port for quite a while, would there be enough time to do some shopping if one would decide to go with you all?

So much time before the cruise:o I am starting to worry that my notes will be turning into a novel!!!!!

08-28-2003, 08:01 PM
Just a quick HI. I am scheduled to go on the 2003 Halloween trip and have every intention of booking onboard for the 2004 one. (04 will be my 3rd Halloween cruise). So far it's just me; Carolyn (28 by then). My cruise this year was kinda messed up by other people backing out at the last minute so I think I'm signing on as a single.

A big thanks for Gerard for starting this thread. I loved chatting with the others for this year's trip. Glad to see many of them are going next year as well. It'll be like a reunion.

08-29-2003, 08:27 AM
Hey Rick,
I just tried doing a search for abbreviations in Tech Support and was not able to find anything. I did find the web url though, here it is, http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm

08-29-2003, 01:19 PM
Wow! There are others booking more than a year in advance!

We will be cruising the Magic for Halloween 2004. Me, my wife, 12 year old DD, 10 year old DD, and 6 year old DS.

Can't wait, but 14 months is a long way away! :bounce:

08-29-2003, 02:22 PM
Count us in for definites. Just about to book with Dreams. Will then wait and see what on board rate is like to see if we need to swap reservations for the best price.

08-29-2003, 04:33 PM
1st Cruise for all of us - taking the whole family with me: DW - Tressa, DH - Nick, DS - Brandon (11 at cruise time), DS - Jacob (10 at cruise time), Sister - Kelli, BIL - Tony, Nephew Haden - (8), Niece Madison (3), Nephew - Wakeman (2), Father - Charles, Mother - Jeanie.

This is also my first post to the DIS. Love it! So many questions, so many answers!

08-31-2003, 08:12 AM
Shoal Bay East is an excellent beach for kids. The last time we were there everyone was wearing clothes, it's not a clothing optional island.

Karen I booked our cruise back in Feb. of this year, sure hope we can get a better rate aboard too.

09-04-2003, 03:23 PM
An extra hour!

Halloween 2004 Magic - we get an extra hour with day light savings time ending on Sunday 10/31/2004. Fall back one hour is our gain.

We're already excited! :Pinkbounc

09-04-2003, 06:45 PM
We'll be on the 4 night Wonder cruise for Halloween, anyone else?

It'll be myself, DH, DD(will be 8) and DS(will be 4).

09-06-2003, 09:22 AM
Hi All,
Just thought about this. Halloween will be on Sunday during this cruise. If nothing changes, this will be Formal Night Dress. Would it be inappropriate for the kids to wear costumes at dinner, any thoughts? Not sure if DW would let them anyway, as she is looking forward to them being dressed to the hilt. OK, I am as well!!

09-06-2003, 01:21 PM
Sunday great that's a sea day. Gerald let them wear their costume:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
They can get all dressed up on semi-formal night so you and Mom can have those photo shot taken. Folks get just as dressed up on Semi as they do on Formal.

Palmtreegirl have you started a thread for your cruising date on the Wonder? I am sure you'll find others on your cruise but in the mean time hang in here with us maybe we can convince you to join us.

Welcome TROD!!! fire away with your questions. Remember there are no stupid question here.

09-13-2003, 03:39 AM

09-30-2003, 08:00 AM
I already have them convinced to cruise again. We just got back from the Magic 9/13. Everyone wants to back (dh, dd,ds, mil, fil). Now, I have to convince them to go over Halloween. We were planning to go to MNSSHP, so it'll work out great. If we go, it'll be me, Julie, dh Steve, dd Sadie (10 at cruise) and ds Sig (6 at cruise).

The trick or treat idea sounds great. That'll win over the kids. Now if I can convince the rest of them...

10-02-2003, 12:32 PM
Bump to the front.

10-02-2003, 02:51 PM
Not to brag, but we only have 3 more week till this years Halloween Cruise.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

10-03-2003, 02:28 AM
Thank You, Thank You VERY MUCH, Ginger:p

Hope you have a GRAND Voyage :boat:

10-03-2003, 10:09 AM
I am on the 10/30/04 also.

10-06-2003, 12:16 PM
We just booked this morning, so it's final. We can't wait. Our kids will be 10 (dd) and 6 (ds).

10-06-2003, 10:55 PM
That's great Julie!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

10-22-2003, 06:59 PM

10-22-2003, 07:53 PM
Hi All!

Leaving in just a few minutes.
Now Gerald, don't get upset it'll be your turn before you know it.

Joe, are you packed yet????
Let's go Joe.:Pinkbounc

10-23-2003, 12:21 PM
Hi everyone. Just wanted to check in. We are still booked for this cruise but we are considering switching to one in early December. I thought it would be fun to experience the holiday festivities at WDW before the cruise. Can't decided between MNSSHP and MVMCP. We've never done either. We don't know for sure that we will switch, but it is a possibility.

Ginger, have the BEST time on your cruise and tell us all about it!

Hi Gerald!

10-23-2003, 12:58 PM
Count us in! :wave2: We're all depo'd and ready to go! Our first DCL trip, so we thought we'd make it a fun one.

Definitely count us in on the DIS stateroom T&T'g. My DW, Diane, was already planning to bring treats and my DD, princess: Samantha (she'll be 4), has already been once (last week), will be doing two more this weekend (neighborhood party & school) and then next week for Halloween. So she'll love to onboard.

Ginger, since you're the resident expert, how does the rotation dining work? I'm wondering what dining rooms we'll be in on which nights. Especially since Halloween will be on an at-sea :boat: night.
Wondering too about snorkeling/diving at any of the ports, where is better (especially for snorkeling - we all have gear) and shopping, we like loose stones.

Can't wait til next fall :goodvibes -Mike

10-24-2003, 06:54 PM
BUMP back to pg.1

10-25-2003, 04:29 AM
Welcome to the DIS Boards and our Halloween04 cruising thread. Below are listed some very useful sites that contain a wealth of information.

Check out these sites for Navigators, menus, pictures and more:

Hi Bonnie:wave2:
How's the family? Your new plan of attack sounds great, although we will miss you for our cruise. Have not been to WDW as yet, but we go to DL every Thanksgiving and the park is just beautiful. IASM is unbelievable as it is decorated inside and out. I am sure the Emagineers at WDW pull out all the stops for Christmas as well. I have read on the Resorts Forum that the Wilderness Lodge is a must see for Christmas deocorations. Good luck and keep us in the loop.

10-26-2003, 08:51 AM
Gerald, thanks!
Have only been checking out the boards for the last few days since we booked or cruise, and already my DW thinks I'm an addict :yo-yo: (don't tell her, but I think she's right ::yes:: )
I've already found tons of info, very helpful info, you guys are the best.
Only 370 days left

10-27-2003, 09:44 AM
How many will be doing the Halloween Magic for the first time? How many DISers are booked so far, or intend to book? How many of the adults plan to be in costume on Halloween (I do!)?

<B>DIS Stateroom Trick-or-Treating -</B> Count me in! I will either be solo or with my grown nephew, but we love to see all the kids in costume so you can include our room for the T&T'ing (7628).

10-27-2003, 09:55 AM
We're first-timers Shari. And will definitely be in costume. -Mike

10-28-2003, 03:59 AM
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have had to cancel our Halloween 2004 cruise. Maybe we will catch you on the flip side. Hope everybody has a great cruise!!!!

Well whatya know, I GOT TAGGED.

Thanks Tag Fairy:jumping2:

10-28-2003, 10:18 AM
 :(
And I was looking forward to meeting you too.

Hopefully nothing serious, and (if all goes well this time) we'll definitely see you on the next.

11-02-2003, 10:27 AM
Just came home from this years Halloween cruise and booked for next year's while on board. Can't wait to see everyone again - maybe we should try a DISmeet the first sea day (Sunday) since it's pretty hectic when you first get on the ship.

If it's all right with everyone I'll start the list of who's on our cruise. I only added info that you put in your post. Feel free to add staterooms. names, whatever as you find out the details! Can't wait to start planning again.

11-02-2003, 10:53 AM
Halloween Cruisers 2004

11-02-2003, 11:13 AM
Carolyn, better take us off the list. We just switched to the December 11, 2004 cruise. Since we are also doing 5 days at the parks, we thought we would like to experience Christmas at WDW and do MVMCP. Good luck to all of you and have a great cruise!

11-02-2003, 11:25 AM

I'm so sorry to hear that. We will miss getting to know you on this thread and on the ship but, hope that you and your family have a wonderful vacation. I've never tried Disney at Christmas. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through you!

11-02-2003, 01:10 PM
<B>Carolyn1023 - </B> I don't know if it was just a typo, but you left out the first "a" in my DIS name. It is "taswira" (Swahili for image or images). And yes, I am in 7628. Thank you. ::MinnieMo

Will anyone be doing a website or web page for the list? If no one else is and you would like, I could do <B>a page</B> similar to <a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/travel/DISlist092803.html" target="index">this one</A> for this cruise. <B>Or</B> I could do a <B>complete website</B> with newsletter pages (from news or info submitted to me) about our cruise and cruisers. I only mention this because WebmasterPenny stated when she locked the 10/11/03 thread that "<I>...we actually have a maximum limit of 150 pages per thread</I>." I foresee this thread getting much larger than that (the 10/11 was 480 pages!), so a separate site would allow more to be posted about the cruise - itinerary, excursion info and recommendations, DIS meet info, trick-or-treat info, cruiser info including first names, ages(?), stateroom or deck, celebrations, home town, photos if desired (I could password protect the site for access from our cruisers only) etc. What do you think? It would of course be <I>optional</I> for everyone to submit info on themselves, but those who feel comfortable doing that for a password protected site might find it a great way to get to know other cruisers a little prior to the cruise and to recognize them onboard. Let me know what you think. And if anyone else already has a site for the cruise in the works, please direct me to it! Thanks!

11-03-2003, 08:31 AM
<B>UPDATE</B> - My DN, Michael (who will turn 37 just before the cruise), will be cruising with me. :D

Carolyn - Thank you for correcting my DIS name. ::MinnieMo

Shari, not a problem. It was a typo as I have it correct in my notes. I'll go ahead and add your nephew as well.

I also think the website is a great idea. I vote yes as long as you're willing to do it because computer literacy is not on my list of skills.

****Just a note; my new user name is rocadonismom (formerly known as Carolyn1023). I'm the same person just don't want the wedding date in my name anymore. Now back to your regularly scheduled program)

11-03-2003, 09:13 PM
Thank you, Carolyn. Of course I am willing to do it! :p I'll try to start something over the next day or two. Any ideas or info you can post here or e-mail to me at info@magicaldisney.com. Please put "DIS" or reference to the cruise in the subject so it won't be rejected as spam. ;)

I think this is going to be a fantastic cruise! My DN and I did the Halloween Wonder last year, but my first Magic cruise was last month and we're looking forward to Halloween next year.

11-05-2003, 09:35 AM
Well, I have the beginnings of a Halloween Magic 2004 website posted. It order to access it, everyone will need to log in with their DIS user name (I will add each user with exactly the same name but ALL LOWER CASE), but will also need the PASSWORD. <B>If each of you on this cruise will PM me, I will PM the password in reply</B>. You will then be able to access the site by logging in with your DIS name in lower case and <B>the password I provide you</B> - NOT your DIS password .

<B><font color=C30003>So if each of you (on THIS cruise only!) will PM me, I will add you to the access list and send you the site's password and location</font></b>.

11-05-2003, 12:01 PM
If anyone has any trouble accessing the website I posted for this cruise, please PM or e-mail me. Remember that you MUST type in your DIS name in ALL LOWER CASE LETTERS as your user name, and use the Password I provided in the PM.

Please keep in mind that although I am "doing" the website, it will need to be a joint effort with help from those on this cruise if it is to be useful and worthwhile. So please contribute your ideas or info for the site. Thanks!

11-05-2003, 12:54 PM

I tried to access, but it didn't let me in. Used all lowercase and the password supplied in the PM. Please PM me to let me know if I've done something wrong.

11-05-2003, 01:05 PM
Looking at my server log files, it looks like no one else has been able to access it either yet. Do you all have "cookies" enabled, which is usually required for a password protected site? Assuming that you are all using your exact DIS name but in all LOWER case, and typing in the exact password I gave you (which is UPPER case plus numbers), I don't know what to tell you. If any of you ARE able to access, please post here to let us know (but do NOT post the site address or the password here, please).

If everyone continues to have trouble, I may have to remove the password protection altogether. What do you think?

11-05-2003, 01:48 PM
Okay. <B>In a few minutes</B> I will be PMing a NEW password for the Halloween Magic 2004 website to everyone I previously sent the message to. PLEASE let me know if this works for you. I tested it by trying a couple of your user names, and all worked well.

Sorry for the problems. :(

BTW - "Ginger," it will not accept your quotations in the user name, so your user name is simply <B>ginger</B>. Sorry . .

11-05-2003, 02:15 PM
What a dits! I am new to all this - discusion boards, cursin ect...I have posted to the wrong board. We are on the 4 day Wonder Halloween cruise. Sorry! But, I did get on your site Taswira. It is fabulous! I hope someone can do this for our cruise! You guys have a fab trip.

Ha-ha! I guess after all that, I'll have to remove your authorization to view the site! :p

You should switch to our cruise . . :teeth:

11-06-2003, 06:50 AM
Thanks taswira, I've signed up and started posting on your site. Love it.

We had a great time this year on the Halloween cruise. DH and I participated in the Adult Halloween Contest. We didn't come in first but we did place for one of the most original costumes.

We had dinner 2 night at Palo, better than ever this year. Only got in 1 brunch and I enjoyed High Tea with one of our table mates. A lovely lady from England who shared her recipes of a real English High Tea with me. Thank you Lynn, Tony and Kim for a wonderful week of dinning companions.

The weather was just perfect, warm and sunny.
On our first night out we had a bumpy ride, even I felt a little green. But, I wasn't going to let it spoil my first dinner at Palo.

Our planned T-or-T went off very well. I only missed one stateroom, sorry again Carolyn 1023. We had 26 staterooms participating and less than an hour to hit them all in. We had to split our 40 some children into 2 groups also had to ask that some people bring their treats to our meeting place so we could get our hunt finished before DCL started theirs. I think all the children had a great time making out very well, from the looks of my DD's goodie bag.

Anyone on the cruise who does not have the URL and password can PM or e-mail me. I sent a PM with the info to most of you, but there was one who doesn't show a way to be contacted.

And thank you for posting on the mini-forum! I do hope everyone planning to participate in the stateroom trick-or-treating will post there on that thread, because as you pointed out it will make organizing a lot easier.

11-06-2003, 08:50 AM
Well, I got onto the site :p, but I can't seem to reply in the mini-forum area.

Site looks great! Thanks for putting it together.

11-06-2003, 09:28 AM

To reply in the mini-forum, you will need to do the quick registration process with the forum host, Sparklit. There should be a link there for you to register. You will create your own user name and password. I suggest you do use your DIS name though, so we can more easily recognize each other.

11-06-2003, 01:57 PM
Hey everyone! I didn't think we were going to cruise this halloween, because we had booked for the 10 day christmas, however, my DH has now decided he doesn't want to be away from home for the holidays, especially since it will be the babys 1st. So now it looks as though we are back on for Halloween!:teeth: Of course I just cancelled the two ajoining rooms we had, so now I have to rebook. Oh well, at least we will get to see you all again.

I haven't had the chance to look at the web site yet, I'll do that right after I am done posting. We will be doing the TorTing this year again. Although it will probably just be my daughter.

Well, thats all my news for now, I will let you know what staterooms we are in as soon as I rebook.

11-06-2003, 02:12 PM
Hi, Dena - Glad you are still with us! When you know your stateroom number, please be sure to post on the <I>"Stateroom Trick-Or-Treating"</I> thread of the new <I>Mini-Forum</I> linked from the website. That info will be easier to keep track of if kept under that topic.

Note to all: Anyone who has not registered for the new mini-forum will need to do so before you are able to post there. That is separate (although linked from) the Halloween Magic 2004 website. Thanks!

11-06-2003, 04:10 PM
Hey, Dena, that's great news. Will Brendan and Alex be with you as well as Ashley?

11-06-2003, 05:28 PM
So glad you'll be cruising with us all again Dena. So, should I bring the chocolate for the strawberries again. Tell your DH that I'll bring a little cooking oil too. Ha! Ha! Now if we just have to talk Amanda into coming along with us. BTW Dena how are you feeling? When is your new baby girl expected to arrive?

Have you all ever read Fox in Sox by Dr. Suess? It's a must read, Ha! Ha! only in the world of a 6 year old. I love it.

Later allprincess:

11-07-2003, 02:49 PM
Karen: I am not sure who will be sailing with us next year. Ashley is a definate and probably Brendan as well, however, Alex may not be able to go if he is in College.

Ginger: I am feeling well, but tired. I think this trip really wore me out and I am having a hard time recovering. I started babysitting my 4 month old niece on Monday, so I really didn't have enough time to recover.;) Little Emily Nicole (I think thats her name)princess: is due to arrive on February 26th.:hyper:

11-07-2003, 04:38 PM
Hi Dena. Love the name choice.

The boys are certainly hoping that Brendan will be with you. Keep us posted.

Hi everyone. I have changed the format of the "Cruiser List" page of our Halloween Magic 2004 site. It is now in a neater "table" (If you have any problems viewing it, please let me know) with headings of "DIS Name," "First Names & ages at time of cruise," "Dining" (Main or Late seating), "Celebration" (birthdays, anniversaries . . anything!), and "Stateroom," with the latter also indicating if your stateroom will be partipating in the trick-or-treating. You can PM or e-mail me your info. I temporarily moved my name to the top of the list so you can see the formatting of the full info, but will soon move it back to its alphabetical spot at the bottom! Also, yesterday I added a link to a good costume idea site, on the "Resources" page, and started a "Costumes" thread on the mini-forum. Please check the "Newsletter" page of the Halloween Magic 2004 website regularly.

<B>Ginger</B> - You are my lifeline for info on this cruise. If you'd like to e-mail me complete details of the stateroom T-or-T'ing I can post a separate page on that. And everyone, please do post on the T-or-T'ing thread of the mini-forum if you plan to participate. Thanks!

11-10-2003, 12:30 PM

Sent you a PM with updated cruiser info.

11-11-2003, 12:16 AM
Hi, <B>Jamashp</B>! I just posted it. I was at WDW today :). I listed your "Early" seating as "Main" since that is what DCL calls their "early." Thanks for the info!

And <B>DMS_cruisers04</B> - I got your message and I PM'd you the site URL and password. There are links at the top of each page that include the Cruiser List for our cruise, Newsletter page, Resources, Meets, the Mini- Forum as well as this DIS thread. If you have any problem, PM or e-mail me. I should be around most of the day Tuesday.

11-11-2003, 10:31 PM
Hi Everyone,
My hubby (Rick) and I ( Teri) will be on the October 30th cruise. This will be our 6th Disney cruise. We have a 3 day booked February 12th,2004. We can't wait!!! By the way my 39th OUCH!!!!!!!!! birthday is October 30th.

11-12-2003, 10:05 AM
Well guys, I must leave this great place. After getting back from St. John last week, we decided that we really didn't need or want to return to St. Thomas on our cruise. So, we've moved our cruise back one week, and are cruising on the November 6, 2004 Western. The port on the Western always intrigued us more, so we decided to take the plunge. We were only taking the 10/30, since it was NJ week, and my DD would only miss 3 days of school instead of 5. Well, we decided it would be better for us on the Western, so she'll miss 5 days of school. She'll be in First Grade, so I'm not too concerned!! Leave the ship in good shape for me!!!!

11-13-2003, 12:27 PM
Hello all, Brand new to this board. My wife, myself and 7 year old daughter will be cruising on the 10/30/04 halloween cruise. Also going are our neighbors with their 3 daughters ages 8,6 and 5.
How can I get to the Halloween cruise website, I appreciate the help. This willbe our second Disney cruise and are looking to particapate in the Halloween fun.

11-13-2003, 01:02 PM
Welcome, <B>cheysdad</B>! I sent you a PM with info on how to access the site and mini-forum. Let me know if you have any problem with access.

Also, <B>cheysdad</B> and everyone else on the list - if you will PM me your info (if I don't already have it) on Dining Seating (Main or Late), Stateroom Number (unless you prefer not to have it on the list), and if you will be participating in the stateroom-to-stateroom trick-or-treating, I will add that.

11-18-2003, 08:57 AM
Bump to the front

11-18-2003, 09:50 AM
Hello everyone. Please add us to the list of DISers on the 10/30/04 cruise. We just returned from the 11/1/03 cruise and we are anxious to get back on the ship. We are me ny DH, DS14, DS12 and DD9 (at least they'll be those ages next year).

Could you PM me and let me know how I can access the mini site?

11-18-2003, 10:17 AM
Wecome, Tracy and family! I just PM'd you the access info. ::MinnieMo

11-18-2003, 10:46 PM
Hi Everyone, I wanted to check in to see how the planning for next year is going. Sorry I haven't had time to be here with you all but we're still working on the old house. Looking good I might add. Work is getting wild, don't forget to mail those hoilday packages and cards early. HA! HA! HO! HO!

Shari you're the WOMAN:bounce: :Pinkbounc . Doing a wonderful job keeping us together.

Dena try to get lots of rest and don't over do it during the hoildays. Can't wait to meet Emily Nicole. Will your whole family be joining you again next year. That must be great fun for everyone.

Welcome Aboard!!!!! All our new joiners. Your in for your best cruise ever.
Start planning those costume. DH and I plan on winning next years costume contest. BTW, did I mention you we placed in the top 5 for the most original custume.pirate:

11-19-2003, 07:47 PM
Congratulations on placing in the top 5 for costumes. You should post a picture wearing the costume. I would love to see it.

11-22-2003, 09:13 AM
We didn't take pictures:( . We are going to improve them and take them back next year with hopes of placing first.

How we did the T-or-T.
1. First I collected the names and stateroom number of everyone who wished to participate.
2. Collected the names and ages of all the children who's parents posted on this board who wished to participate.
3. I tried hard to keep a list of posting names, childrens names, their ages, and participating stateroom numbers updated and posted here on the board.
4. We agreed upon a day and time for our T-or-T.
5. I made signs for the stateroom doors for those participating and passed them out onboard or I placed them on the doors myself.
6. I planned out our route, starting at the lowest deck working our way up to the highest.
7. We all met at our meeting place, which was Deck 3 Midship. Took a quick roll call and start our hunt for staterooms.

Because we were running short of time due to the fact that DCL was having their T-or-T hunt just 1 hour after ours was to start. I had to ask a few staterooms to bring their goodies to the meeting place and hand them out there. We had to divide our group into 2 and start one on deck 5 and one on deck 2. Hoping they would not crash in the middle. We had 42 children and 26 staterooms to visit in less than an hour to do it in. I think it turned out pretty good my group only missed 1 stateroom. Sorry Carolyn1023.

11-22-2003, 09:32 AM
Ginger - Since you know what works and doesn't for the T-or-T, if you will come up with "the plan" (time and method ;) ) and e-mail me the details, I will post it all on the Meetings page of the website. Of those who decide to participate, if they let me know and provide their stateroom number, I will continue to note that on our Cruiser List. That should help a bit with the organizing.

I do agree as to the ages you mentioned to me. Possible exception would be making it through 12, provided they are <I>in costume</I>. What does everyone think? Otherwise we would need to bring more goodies than we could carry! BTW - Although I can't trick-or-treat, I am always in costume on Halloween and will answer the door that way - most likely as a middle-aged "Gadget" of Chip & Dale's <I>Rescue Rangers</I>.

11-27-2003, 11:37 AM
Happy Turkey Day, everyone!

11-29-2003, 02:48 PM
Count us in!!! So far we have 23 people. Fourteen adults and nine kids! Our second cruise and first Halloween cruise...WOOOHOOO!!!
Shari, if you could PM me I will list everyones names and ages on your site!!:earsgirl:

11-29-2003, 03:48 PM
Welcome, TMcG88! I PM'd you the info. Let me know if you have any problems with access.

23 people? Wow! This cruise bunch is GROWING!

11-29-2003, 08:50 PM
Hi All! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Sorry, I haven't been able to post much with work and getting our house finished before Christmas has kept me busy. For those who don't know, we've had a large home improvement project going on. We been under construction since July, we are now down to the flooring, countertops and painting. Of course everything I like is a special order. The project has been alot of waiting around for stuff to come in or for someone to put it in. Thank Goodness it's almost over with.
I work for the United State Postal Services, things have been crazy with all the catalogs and sale booklets going out. I'll be working 6 days a week for the next few weeks, well actually till my next vacation in January.
Going to the World for a week, can't wait. :bounce:

TMcG88 23 people, are you related to Dena, posting name Mdvasquez, she always got a large group going with her too. The more the merrier. Are you all going to dress up for Halloween?

11-29-2003, 08:50 PM
Posted twice. Sorry about that.:wave2:

11-30-2003, 05:16 PM
Ginger, glad all is going well with the renovation! Don't forget to post before and after pics. I remember seeing the before pics pf the outside , but not of the inside.
I wish we were going with you all next year, but we decided to try a little closer to Christmas since it is our family's Christmas gift. Tell Ashley that Taylor says hi! And Steve says hi to Bill too! LOL

12-02-2003, 04:55 PM
Amanda I sure will miss you next year. Who's going to make choc. covered strawberries with me? And who's going to help me with the T-or-T'ing?????
We haven't been able to find any past inside pictures that we could show  He!He! Working on the new pictures, just need to learn how to send them.
Hi to all yours too. :wave2:

For those of you that didn't cruise this year, Amanda, Dena and her family and I made Choc. Covered Strawberries at the Radisson the night before the cruise. They were great, sorry Karen we couldn't save any for you. Maybe next year we'll have extras.

12-05-2003, 11:16 PM
We are also on the Magical Halloween 2004. My family was on the 2002 Halloween cruise and had a great time. We did the DIS group trick or treat, it was great, my kids still talk about it! They were slightly disappointed in 2003 when there was no Halloween cruise for them. I promised myself I would stay off the DIS boards until about 6 months before the 2004 cruise, but I can’t help myself. Maybe it has something to do with Blizzard we are getting at this very moment…

Shari I am sending you a PM to get access to the site you are maintaining.

12-08-2003, 12:51 PM
Looks like we have another family joining us. We talked so glowingly about booking our Halloween Disney Cruise and how much we are looking forward to it, they decided to join us on the ship. They are a family of four (actually 5, but the infant is going to stay with relatives) with DD12 and DD10.

Now, how to get 300+ days to pass a bit quicker, .....

:bounce: :Pinkbounc ::yes::

12-09-2003, 08:15 PM
Jamashp - We're from Central Jersey too! Bridgewater. Are you anywhere close?

12-10-2003, 01:48 PM
We are from Allentown, NJ. It's a small town about 10 minutes west of Great Adventure.

I guess you are also taking advantage of the NJ teachers convention. It works out great with the kids only missing three 1/2 days of school. And, Halloween encompasses this week in 2004.

12-14-2003, 12:21 PM

I know exactly where Allentown is. My Husband cousin lives there. Have been to a few family gatherings there. Perhaps you know them and could talk them into joining too! I’ll send you a PM with their last name.

Yes, we scheduled the trip around the NJ teacher’s convention. Since we booked the trip, my husband found out that he has a convention that he should attend in Orlando that starts on the last Friday of the cruise and goes to Monday. I suspect that we will now extend the vacation through Monday so he can attend the convention and we can go to the parks. Since my kids will be in Kindergarten and 2nd grade I am not to concerned about one more missed day of school.

12-23-2003, 10:11 AM
Happy Holidays Everyone!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We're going on the 10/30/04 Magic cruise as well! I'm new to Disboards so I think I have threads all over the place but I think I finally found the right one! Tracy was kind enough to reply to one of my threads and pointed me in the right direction (thanks again, Tracy!).

By the time we go on the cruise, I'll be 46 years old and my husband, Peter, will be 45 years old. Our son, Robert, will be 12 years old and our daughter, Elizabeth, will be 10 years old.

We live just north of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. And we can't wait to go on this cruise! It's our third cruise; we did the land/sea package (3/4nights) in January 2002 and the 3 night cruise in October 2002, and we had a ball!

12-30-2003, 11:59 AM
Welcome, Lynda! I sent you a PM with information on how to access the website and mini-forum. Let me know if you have any problem with access.

Hi Everyone:wave:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I for one am glad that it's over, been working everyday 9 and 10 hours to get those cards and packages out. Now it's Disney World time, leaving in 16 days.

01-01-2004, 04:27 PM
I’ll second Ginger. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

GINGER – Lucky you, going to WDW in just 16 days! And, you get to experience the Disney magic twice in one year, with the cruise scheduled too! Are you staying on property for your January visit?

01-03-2004, 11:43 PM
Hi Lynne, Yes, we have a 2 bedroom at Old Key West. I'm so ready for this vacation.

Lynda Silk
01-05-2004, 10:16 AM
Hi Ginger!

Just wanted to say Happy New Year to you too! And also that I'm so envious of you going to Disney World in only 16 days! Wow, you're so lucky going to Disney World and the cruise both in one year!

Have a great time and thanks too for all the hard work you're doing re organizing the TorTing, etc.!

01-05-2004, 06:43 PM
It's not luck it's the Disney Vacation Club. 11 days till we leave.

Shari, I'm going to check out the mini-forum. Thanks

01-05-2004, 07:03 PM
Hello! We're going on the Magic on 10/30 as well! Now that our NYE Vegas trip is in the can, it's time to start planning a bit. Here's who we are and how old we'll be in October:

DW & I - 54 and 52 (but which is which?)
DD and SiL - both 35
Grandaughter Kayla - 10
Grandaughter Andrea - 7

DW and I are first time DCL cruisers but have logged around 10 cruises on other lines. It's the first cruise for the rest of the gang. We're DVC members and will spend 3 nights before the cruise somewhere on property.

01-05-2004, 07:48 PM
Welcome, Jimbo! I sent you a Private Message with the info needed for you to access our special website and mini-forum. Let me know if you have any problems with access, and I'll get back to you as soon as I am online again.

Glad to have you sailing with us!

01-06-2004, 07:26 PM
Hi everbody, haven't checked the boards in a while, busy, busy, busy........anyway,
Ginger, we are not part of Dena's group. We are a totally different group of mixed nuts!!! I'm not sure about getting dressed up, we are trying to think of a group idea, any suggestions???
Jamashp and NJ Family, we are also from NJ, south though. Our schools are closed Tues. and Weds. for a teacher inservice and then the convention! Our kids only miss one day of school and we get a seven day cruise!!! We had to take advantage of that!!;)

01-09-2004, 12:20 PM
Anyone else already sick of the cold too?! ..., at least we're under 300 days now.::yes::

01-09-2004, 08:10 PM
Just wanted to say and Hi to everyone and add my family to the 10/30/04 cruise list. :)

My family will be

Myself and DW 30 &31

My son will be 4

My Mom who would yell at me if I put her age up :)

And my child not yet with us so I can't tell you if it will be a boy or girl but wife says girl :)

Will also be doing a DVC stay for a few days before the cruise. :)

01-10-2004, 12:12 PM

What part of South Jersey? We are in Washington Township, Gloucester County. We also usually get the 2 days off before the convention for inservice but I was concerned how they would handle the days off because of Veterans Day falling on the following Thurs. It's an early convention week this year. I'm hoping they follow the same pattern and give the kids off the 2nd and 3rd. If not, oh well, this is our 3rd convention week DCL cruise and I'm not breaking a tradition for a couple days missed from school.

01-10-2004, 03:03 PM
Ah man, I didn't even consider veterans day was the following week. But, I'm with you, if they have to miss a few days, so be it!
We are in Burlington County. (Cinnaminson)

01-10-2004, 07:59 PM

We actually are just getting home from a party in Cinnaminson. My DH was born and raised there and 4 of the 7 kids and his parents still all live there. It's always been a joke of ours that whenever we go somewhere he runs into someone he knows from Cinnaminson. We couldn't even move this far away and not live across the street from someone he went to high school with.

01-11-2004, 09:45 AM

That is too funny!!! My husband and I were both born and raised here, too, and he and four of the guys we are cruising with are all Cinnaminson cops. I bet between all of us there will be someone your husband knows!!! What is your last name and what year did he graduate? (PM me if you are more comfortable) and we'll figure out if we know each other!

I sent you a PM. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi all, just wanted to hop on here and tell you how much fun you are going to have. I had the pleasure of going Halloween 2003 with Ginger, Dena and Rochelle. I also had the pleasure of hanging out with Ginger at the Rad the night before and she and her DH and DD are good people! Lucky you to be cruising with them! Have a blast and definitely plan your own TOT event as DCL was pitiful:jester:

01-17-2004, 09:37 AM
My DH Bobby and my 2 DS Alan and TJ will be joining me on the Halloween Eastern Cruise. We are so excited to going on this cruise. We were on the Christmas cruise of 2000 and had a blast. Also my ds TJ will be turning 8 as well on this cruise. I read that someone elses son will be turning 8 on the cruise as well. We should get the boys together and have a little party with cake for them. Tj actually turns 8 on Halloween, my little devil. Has anyone started the actually planning for trick or treating among the DIS family? Let me know cause I only work 2 days a week and have plenty of time on my hand.

01-17-2004, 07:25 PM
We plan on reserving our cabin on Monday. This will be a good travel year for us. DDad is paying for airfare to Hawaii in April, And now The Magic Oct 30th. Couldn't resist the AAA rate I was emailed.
We are a family of 4, Me, DH, DD-11 at cruise time, and DD-7 at cruise time. Also taking advantage of NJ teacher's convention. In 2003 our district had the entire week off which worked out great for our WDW trip. Would be nice to add a couple of days at the parks at the end, but DD-11 will be in Middle School then, so not sure how easy it will be to miss school. Have to wait and see what the 2004-2005 school calendar will bring.
We are also interested in the DIS T or T., and would like to get on the Oct 30th cruise website.

<B>alwatlers</B> - I added you to the access for the website and answered your PM. Welcome! Please let me know your dining seating if it has been assigned.

<B>Donnainnj</B> - Welcome also! As soon as you have a confirmed booking, please PM me and I will tell you how to access the site and mini-forum. At that time, if you let me know your dining seating and stateroom number, I will add all your information to the list.

Oh yuck. We have got sheet ice on the roads, sleet, snow, gales and heavy rain, all on the same day! I know many of you in the states get worse weather than us but believe me in the UK a bit of snow can bring the place to a halt. I'm cold and fed up and I want my ship!! The cruise can't come round soon enough. Roll on October.

We have just gone through a major snowstorm too; my DH and I had to shovel our driveway 5 times in the last 24 hours! So we're ready for the cruise in October too. Of course, snow is nothing new here in Canada (we live in Brampton, Ontario which is a suburb of Toronto) but it's still awful when you have drive home from work in it and shovel, shovel, shovel! Bring on October!

Hope your weather's better today!

HEY everyone. It's been quite some time since I have posted. We have been having some work done in the kitchen, new counters, sink, wallpaper, paint. As well as trying to get the baby's room done. I think everything is just about complete. I have yet to book for this cruise, but I did officially cancel the 10 day christmas one. I guess I am just waiting to have the baby before I decide to book for October.

I only have 3 weeks and two days left until my due date:hyper: My sisters threw me a baby shower last weekend, and we got just about everything we needed.

Well, thats all my news for now. I miss being on these boards, and will try to find more time to post.

02-03-2004, 11:25 AM
Hi everyone! It's been ages since I've dropped in, nice to "see" everyone again. Mom and Dad are in Disney this week so I'm working at the family business and have access to a computer. YEAH!

Hope all is going well with the planning. I'm definately ready to cruise. Although I love winter and snow, we've been having a below average winter. The temp has been single digits for almost a month now with below 0 windchills fairly often. We've gotten almost no snow because it's too cold. But anyway....

I'll try to jump in for today and tomorrow. Going to read the messages and get caught up!

hmmm.. Guess I should figure out how to change my counter too.

02-03-2004, 06:06 PM
Hi Everyone!
Sorry I've not posted much lately been working hard.

We had a great time in Disney World, the weather was a little chilly but not as cold as it has been here at home. Today we had a bit of everything rain, snow and ice. Just been awful here wish we could have stayed in Fla.

Dena, I'm glad I looked into today, I'm happy to hear that things are going well with you.
Amanda, we sure are going to miss you this year.
Karen, we are having the same weather problems here and I'm with you, I want to go home to our cozy little stateroom.

Welcome to all new Halloween Cruisers. Everyone check in with taswira, she's got a great website going for our cruise. Don't forget to sign your little ones up for our Trick-or-
Treat. I believe we said ages 12 and under, correct me if I am wrong.

It's been donkey's years since I've posted on here! My email decided it was no longer going to tell me when people posted and so I assumed you'd all vanished into thin air.

Well, as my mum said, it was freezing here last week and the country fell to pieces and this week, we have rain and guess what, yep, half the country has flood warnings. I miss my ship!

I was in London with school at the weekend which was great and the week before, I dressed up as Minnie Mouse for school when we were raising money for the performing arts department. Here is the link to some photos of my friends and I.

02-13-2004, 03:11 PM
I think we need to bump our discussions up to the front! It's cold, but spring is on the horizon and there are a mere 260 days until we sail!:sunny:

02-15-2004, 08:28 AM
Wow!!!! only 258 days till we sail, I better get started on my pre-cruise diet. Ha! Ha!

Has anyone started buying things for the cruise? I haven't but have seen some really pretty and comfortable looking dresses in the sale catalogs that I've been delivering in the past few weeks. Working as a postal carrier does have it's benefits. I don't get alot of catalogs at home but I've been collecting alot of website to shop at.

We've had some nice weather here for the past few days but I fear that is going to change today. It's cold out there.

Well off the finish up some of my painting projects that I started before Christmas. (I've got 2 whole days together off from work). I've painted Ashley's bedroom in the Princess colors, pinks purple with a blue ceiling with the puffy clouds.

Stay warm all

02-15-2004, 10:11 AM
I'm looking for a gown for the cruise. I have 2 nice long dresses from the last one. If I had known how much we'd love cruising I would have bought something really fancy princess: which is what I wanted. I saw some beautiful gowns on the last cruise, but they were on very petite ladies.

Oh- Halloween costumes too. We're going to be pirates as of this minute, but the kids have changed their minds a million times since we booked.

Great to see eveyone else's counter with the days ticking down!

Anchors aweigh-

Hi:wave2: I just wanted to pop in say and say hi to all my feloow cruisers from Halloween 2003! Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!!! Wish we were going on this sailing with y'all but I just couldn't pass up the great rate I got for the week after Thanksgiving. !

02-22-2004, 09:48 AM
Amanda, we sure are going to miss you all this year but I do understand a great deal can not be passed up.

Speaking of great deals Ashley and I went shopping on Monday, hit the Sears store in search of curtains and ended up with a formal dress for Ashley. I got it for free, yes you read me right free. It was on the clearance rack mark downed to $19.99 then at the register they took off an additional % which made the dress $8. and some change. The cashier asked me if I wanted to know how to get the dress for free. I laughed and said sure. She said just fill out a credit card app. and it's yours for free plus we'll owe you the change from a $10. credit for filling it out. Now I that DH or I already have a Sears C.C. but for a free dress what the heck. Now Ashley is almost ready for formal night just need to find some free shoes. LOL

"NEWS" I've decided as per requested from my DH to retire from my position of Trick-or-Treat organizer for the "DIS" Group. But the good news is, is that Judi who post under "alwathers" has gladly accepted the position. So if you all would kindly help make her job easier by sending her a PM letting her know that you are interested in part-taking in our group T-or-T. She will need to know you stateroom number and if you'll have children t-or-t'***. If so please give her their names and ages. We do ask that the children be under the age of 13.
Also a date and time must be decided upon for this event. Keeping in mind that Sunday a day at sea and the actually hoilday would be perfect but DCL will also be conducting their t-or-t too on that day. Last year we got lucky that our time did not conflict with theirs. We had just finished ours when thiers was starting, most people just went right to that one, working out very well. I going to look up our times from last year I'll get back to you all with them in a few.

02-22-2004, 03:11 PM
Just wanted to let everyone know that Ginger accidently typed in my name wrong. Please PM me at alwatlers and let me know if you are going to participate in T & T and how many kids are going to join us. I know some of you guys don't have kids but still want to see all of the great costumes, so just let me know if you are planning on handing out treats at your stateroom. I will get the master list off of the other site but still PM me or email me at alwatlers@aol.com and let me know the number of kids and ages. I will keep you guys up to date on this site and the Official Halloween site. Got some great ideas for T & T. Hey Ginger I am all for having it on Halloween( sunday), just let me know when they did it last year so I can coordinate the times. If anyone else might know what time it was held last year, let me know. I think if we do it on sunday we should start about an 1 1/2 hours before the official Dis trick or treat so we have plenty of time to finish ours and get to the official meeting spot for Disney.pirate:

02-22-2004, 04:34 PM
DCLs was held at 3pm on the 30th because it was our day at sea. Ginger had set ours up for 2pm that same day. It worked out well, although had I known DCLs was going to be so lame, we would have just went back to our staterooms.

02-22-2004, 06:20 PM
for the info about the time. I think we will be holding it about the same time as last year. This way people can have lunch and then get ready. If we hold it later then it will be too close to Main Dinner and I know there are alot of us booked for Main. Right now we have an unofficial count of 12 kids participating in trick-or-treating and 11 staterooms. I have a few names that have kids in them but no confirmation if the kids are going to be participating. Just let me know when you get a chance. I will keep everyone up to date with the total count. If anyone has any imput about when we should do our t & t just PM or email me at alwatlers@aol.com:wave:

02-23-2004, 08:55 AM
Sorry about misspelling your name Judi.
Only one problem, we are not sure if DCL will hold it's T-or-T at the same time as last year. We can only hope it stays the same, the timing did work out well last year.

You can count on us as a room to hand out plus our DD Ashley will be T-or-T'***. She is 8. I will have to get back to you about the stateroom number because I am going to change my ressie, turning it over to DVC so we can pay with points. We may lose our current stateroom.

You all probably know about this from the other disboards but in case you don't, I thought I'd mention the TV show, According to Jim. The Feb 24 and Mar 2 episodes are filmed aboard the Disney Magic so you might want to mark that down in your calendars! I believe the times are 9pm EST and 8pm CST, but you should check your local TV guide for times and channels.

Thought it would be neat to see the Disney Cruise Line on TV and just wanted to make sure my fellow passengers know too!

And Judi, thanks for taking over the TorTing! I'll send you a PM.

02-25-2004, 09:19 PM
Hi all, me and my 10 yr old dd princess: are going on our first cruise ever and we're so excited. We would love to t & t so count us in and we look forward to meeting new friends and having a blast. We're supposed to be in stateroom 6015 (just switched from 2586 cat 9). I think cat 11 will be okay for the first time and the extra almost $400 in our pockets will buy alot of souveniors I hope!!

Aboard! I will mark you and your daughter down for t-or-t . So far we have about 15 kids participating but I'm sure we will have alot more closer to the sail date. Can't wait to meet everyone. Keep an eye on this site for any new info.

I will post a list of those that have confirmed T & T latter in the week.

02-25-2004, 10:18 PM
Hi All!

Judi my mind has been in a fog lately please excuse me, my DD Ashley is 7 not 8 as I posted earlier. Our stateroom number is 2052 but it may change when I switch our ressie over to the DVC.

02-26-2004, 01:52 PM
Julie - Welcome to the cruise! I added you to the Cruiser List and to access for the website. I replied to your PM with details on how to access.

Let me know if you have any problem.

We are off to Disney tomorrow for a quick four day visit. My company has a meeting on Thursday, so we're making a long weekend out of it. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Wow, you lucky thing, have fun on your visit to Disney!

Just a reminder to everyone else to watch According to Jim tonight for the second part of the show shot on the Disney Cruise! It's at 9pm EST on ABC.

03-05-2004, 02:36 PM

I just wanted to update everyone about the T & T. So far we have 9 Staterooms confirmed to participate and 15 kids. There are a few that still haven't confirmed but said that they were going to participate earlier. We still have plenty of time for that. Also I am going to pm some of those that said they were going to be on the ship but didn't say if they wanted to participate in the T & T. I will keep you all informed as I update the list. There are a few ideas floating around my head about how we are going to do the T & T. I will post them soon and ask for feedback. Also regarding ages for the kids, I don't remember what Ginger had posted but I am going to limit it to ages 13 and under.(Please pm me or email me at alwatlers@aol.com if you have any concerns about this.) Hope to hear from all of you and those that have pm me I did receive them and have marked you all down.

Thanks for all your hard work on this, Judi! I know that all the children (and the grownups too!) will be so happy TorTing! If you need any help, just yell!

Thanks again! It's so exciting to make plans for the cruise even though it's in October!

Just a short 6 months or so away from our cruise, anyone planning on early arrivals?

I am pretty sure that we will be arriving 2 days before the cruise staying at the Radisson. I've read some of the stories on the board about things that have happened to other but we've had some great times there. Plus, the fact that we can park our Excursion there in the front of the hotel and they watch it for us for FREE. The 2 King bed suites are so roomy, I love tub in the bedroom. Our DD loves the pool and the gift shop were she can purchase her bobbing head turtles.
My DH Bill loves to go fishing, last year he enjoyed himself the day before the cruise by going out on deep sea fishing charter. He caught 3 sharks, 1 red snapper and some other fish too. If any of you are interested I can post the Charters information.

Hey everyone! Again it's been a while since I've last posted. I wanted to let you know that I had the baby on Feb 25th. Emily Nicole arrived at 12:19am weighing 7lbs 9ozs and 20 inches long with a FULL head of dark brown hair. If someone can tell me how to add a picture to my post, I will post one of her. Anyway, as you can guess she is taking up ALL of my free time these days, but we are happy as can be.

I still have not yet booked for halloween, I am trying to decide if I should use points or $$. Well, thats all for now. Have a great evening everyone.

Congratulations Dena!

03-12-2004, 10:13 AM
I will mark Emily down as officially part of the t & t. I know she will be too young for the candy but I'm sure I can find some type of treat for baby emily.

Wendy- if you and your family would like to participate in our seperate T & T on the cruise, just drop me a line at alwatlers@aol.om. Let me know what room/cat. you are in and if your son will be participating. Also if your parents want to participate in handing out the treats they are more than welcome. We have a few adults participating by handing out treats.

Also I sent out some PM's so check yours and I know we have a few months till we sail, but I am trying to get an approx. count of children so others will know how many to plan for.

Thanks for the cooperation from everyone!

03-13-2004, 09:48 AM
Dena we can't wait to finally meet Emily Nicole in person, so happy for you and your family.:Pinkbounc :bounce: By the way guess what I made yesterday, yeap! choc. covered strawberries, so yummy. Tell Michael I didn't need any extra oil this time. Ha! Ha!
Hurry up and book Dena, I changed my ressies yesterday from cash to points. Must be a new thing, they just transferred everything over to DVC so we still have the same stateroom and early dining reservations. Wonder if they will let us keep the onboard credit we got for booking onboard last year?????
I guess we should call the Radisson for our ressies soon also. Anyone else staying there this year before the cruise?????

Amanda we wish you all were cruising with us again this year.

Welcome Disneediva! You and your family are in for a wonderful time aboard the Magic for Halloween. This will be our 4th Halloween cruise on the Magic. As I am sure you have read here there are a few of us that cruise on Halloween every year. So if you have any questions fire away at us.

03-13-2004, 09:53 AM
Just checking in and saying  to my pals!!!!! I will miss you all this year! Keep my ship clean for me okay???;)

03-13-2004, 01:55 PM
Hi all,

I won't actually be sailing with you, but I will be sailing on the Wonder for Halloween. I've been reading through your wonderful thread and see you have many veteran Halloween sailors and some really great ideas.

I'm wondering if any of you Halloween vets have actually ever had the boat leave on Halloween day. Our actual sail date is the 31st and I'm wondering how in the world they are going to pull off a T and T with the 4 p.m. mandatory fire drill and many people not boarding until mid afternoon. I saw it was held on the Magic last year at 3 p.m. but I'm thinking there is no way that will happen on our cruise. Any thoughts?

I would love to set up a T and T similar to what you all are doing. I think that is a great idea for the kids! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm just getting started and haven't a clue what to do :earseek: I was thinking I might call DCL the week before we cruise and see if they could give me the time of their T & T. It would make picking a time easier.

thanks for any help or suggestions and have a great cruise!!! It looks like you have a great group of people.

03-13-2004, 05:22 PM
Last year the 31st fell on CC day. SO DCL did TOT on the 30th. I am not sure what they would do with your sailing since it would officially be November. Hmm maybe they will hold it the day after on the 1st?

03-14-2004, 10:04 AM
Marley just my opinion but I think the best day for t-or-t would be your day at sea. In the past I found that having it before noon is the best time as long as everyone agrees to the time. The only reason we didn't have ours earlier last year was because of a timing conflict with the Grand Jack-Pot Bingo game.

Also remember on a day at sea Palo offers Champagne Brunch for adults only that gets started around 10:30 a.m. to 1:00p.m.. Also Character Breakfast 8:15 and 9:45 a.m.. Doesn't give you much time does it.
I would try for a 11:00 a.m. t-or-t, they usually take about 45 minutes to an hour from start to finish if you keep it organized. You may even have to go in 2 groups going in different directions. We had to do this last year starting 1 on one deck and the other on another deck to get it done in our time frame. Worked out well for us we had over 40 children participating with 26 staterooms to visit.
P.S. look out for tag alongs, strangers. It happened to us last year. Luckly it was only a 1 child family so she just blended in, no problems though.
Good Luck,

03-20-2004, 10:10 PM
my husband says I am becoming addicted to this site ( which I agree with by the way) but it is filled with loads of info. Do they do any type of family costume contests or just one for the kids? We are leaving tomorrow to go Disney for our first anniversary seems to me the best place to celebrate!!!I cannot wait for October.

03-21-2004, 07:41 AM
Hi Wendy, Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you have great weather and a wonderful time at Disney.

Only going by what DCL did last year, no they do not have a so called "family costume contest", but they did allow children to participate in the adults costume contest last year as long as they were part of a group theme. In fact last years winners were a family of chimney sweeps.
My husband and I were Jellyfish we made our DD a costume to go with ours but we were told by Guest Services earlier that day that it was for Adults only. I was a little upset when he and I went to register and saw so many family groups. Our DD was in the kids clubs we didn't have enough time to get her and put her in costume to join us. Know better this year though. Going back with those Jellyfish costumes again this year. Any other Jellyfish out there, you're welcomed to join us.

03-21-2004, 10:16 AM
You were the jellyfish?! Oh! I remember watching the contest and my mum and I were saying how good those costumes were. I didn't realise it was you!

03-21-2004, 10:28 AM
Yeap!!! that was us. Planning on using the same costumes again this year but adding a few new things to them, plus Ashley will be joining us.

Just enlisting help for a fellow poster. There's a poster by the name of The Four of Us on the DCL board who wants some info on the Halloween activities on the Wonder. I know there was a previous poster on this thread by the name of marley who was going on the same cruise and I was hoping that they would pick up this post and then check the DCL board posts and help this person out.

The Four of Us posted a thread yesterday but there weren't any replies so I told them that I would try to come up with some help.

So marley, if you're out there, please take a look at the DCL posts and see if you can help out a fellow passenger!

Thanks! Sorry, I know this doesn't have anything to do with our cruise but I just wanted to help them out.

03-24-2004, 05:34 PM
This will be our family's first cruise. We can hardly wait.
Our party includes me, Suzanne, DH Bob, and DD Regan 10.
She's interested in meeting any 10 - 12 year olds who will be on the cruise. Anyone else looking for a pre-teen buddy?:earsgirl:

03-24-2004, 06:54 PM
Hi Suzanne and welcome aboard ! Your family will love the cruise it is our third one and we keep coming back for more. My son Austin is 10 so I am sure they will be in kids club together and he'd welcome the chance to have a friend already there.

Hi Suzanne!
Just wanted to mention that my daughter will be 10 years old on the cruise and she loves playing with other kids! Her name is Elizabeth and we're in 7060. We'll keep an eye out for you!

03-29-2004, 07:22 PM
I know there are still 7 more months but I thought I would give everyone an update.

I have heard from 24 families that they will be joining us on our wonderful trip. So far I have a confirmed number of 23 children that will be participating in T & T on the magic. We could have over 43 children, if everyone who said they were going on the cruise, confirms that they are going to participate. We have a few that said they were going but I haven't heard if they want to join us for the T & T. Please check your Pm's. Thanks.

As of right now we will have one group, but if we do get over 30 I think we will have 2 groups starting at different points and ending in the Atrium. As of right now I think we will be starting around 1-1:30 so we can be done by 2:30. This also depends on when Disney is going to do theirs. I'm sure I will be doing some adjustments closer to the time. I am going to make signs to put on the doors so the children can just look for the Mickey sign instead of trying to look for numbers. If you haven't emailed me your cabin number please do so we can map out the route and so I know where the signs are going to be placed.

I am thinking of having our own little costume contest. Need input on this. Was thinking of the cutest princess, scariest, and most oringinal. But of course all of the little ones would still get an award for participating. Let me know what you guys all think of this.

Lynda Silk
03-30-2004, 09:41 AM
Hi Judi!
Thanks for doing all this work! I love the idea of the Mickey signs on the door! It will make it much easier for the kids to know what doors to knock on.

Re the costume contest, I think that this is a great idea. How would you organize getting the prizes? Maybe we can all bring something to donate for prizes. For example, maybe one family can bring a box of markers, another can bring some candy, another a Disney pin, etc. We wouldn't need to bring anything too big or expensive. We can pool our donations and then decide what appropriate prizes would be. Other alternatives are to send money to one person to buy prizes or families could agree to donate a prize. Maybe we should have a vote!

These are just my thoughts! Thanks again for all your planning!

03-30-2004, 11:19 AM
The signs are a great idea, I used them last year. But please don't depend on them sometimes, they get taking off the doors. Make sure you have a stateroom numbers list and an adult leading your group(s).

For prizes try orientaltrading.com they have great stuff cheap for Halloween and parties. If your going to place an order please let me know maybe we can place 1 order for all and save on shipping. I still have some stuff left over from last year I'll check to see if I have any (You're a winner) medals left.

We've always had everyone meet in front of Lumiere's before the T-or-T and then everyone just went their own ways after we hit the last stateroom. A few years ago we met for lunch at Lumiere's after the kids t-or-t'ed, good food before candy.

Our daughter will also be 10 by the time of the cruise. She would also like to get together with other kids her age.

This will be our 4th cruise and will complete all the cruises Disney does (except for the special 10 day'er) can't wait to meet all of you!

The reason I password-protected the <I>Halloween Magic</I> website I did was to keep personal info (names/user names with kids & ages, particularly stateroom numbers, etc.) personal. But since it is posted here and even non-DIS viewers can see it, I think I may as well remove the password protection from the website. I will probably do that tonight or tomorrow.

Also, you have a few people I do not have on the cruiser list, which I get from PMs or e-mail directly to me, as well as from postings on this thread. I also have one on our cruiser list who was on a cruise I did in the past and will be on this one, but he has not yet posted here.

04-01-2004, 02:49 PM
Hey everyone Happy April fools day!!

I finally went ahead and officially booked the cruise again. YEA!:jumping1:
I am sooooo happy!!!!

As of now we are in Stateroom 2071, we FL RES rates come out our room may change.

We are all doing well here in FLA. Emily is now 5 weeks old and is growing already. The past few nights she has been sleeping for 6 -7 hours!:cutie: She will be just over 8 months old when we cruise. I hope I am ready for that!!

ALWATLERS: I just looked at the TorT list. Is my DD 13 going to be able to TorT or is the age only up to 12?

EMMA: Where has your mom been? I emailed her a few weeks ago and didn't hear back from her. Ask her if she got it and was able to see the pictures of Emily.

Well, gotta go watch GH now. Have a great day everyone.

04-01-2004, 03:19 PM
Hey, Dena. Welcome back. I sent you a pm - have lost your e-mail address.

04-01-2004, 03:21 PM
Hey, Dena, according to your countdown, you are cruising an hour earlier than me. Race you to the Palo ressies!

04-01-2004, 07:46 PM
I made it 13 and under for T & T since we only had a few 13 year olds. I know 13 is considered a teenager but if you knew my ds(who will be turning 13 in August) you wouldn't think he was mature enough to be a teenager at that age. So I think it will be okay for those that are 13 but still a kid at heart to join us. I hope this will be okay with everyone else. Right now there is only 3 or 4 at this age.

I am sorry if I offended anyone by posting the names and ages of this kids, but I just copy and pasted my database so I wouldn't have to retype everything. I just wanted everyone who had sent me an email or pm to know that I did receive them.

Dena, I will mark your stateroom down on the list. Thanks for the info.

04-01-2004, 08:23 PM
Judi not offended at all here, we've posted everything in the past years.
As we got closer to our sailing date I started posting the list on every 3rd page of the thread. We had folks who wanted a head count every day.

Keep up the great job and thanks again Judi and Shari for all your hard work.

Sorry I've been under the weather and haven't been able to post much.

O.K. Dena I was getting worried that I would be standing in the Castaway line without you and your family. BTW how many will be going this year? Also will you be staying at the Radisson this year. I called last week to make ressie but the price was still to high, $129. (AAA rate) for a King Suite like we had last year. I'll keep checking and will post if I get a better rate.
Still looking for deep sea fishing buddies for my DH the day before the cruise.

04-03-2004, 10:52 AM
It doesn't matter to me at all. I made it a protected site because on some of my past cruises many parents did not want their stateroom numbers made public because they were concerned about their children being in the rooms when they were not, and even DCL is not a 100% safe environment (no place is!). But it's easier for me to have it a "public" website. So now it is!

<B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/">Halloween Magic 2004 website</A></B>

04-04-2004, 01:09 PM
Ginger, can you remember what happened about formal night on the Magic in 2002? It clashed with Halloween as it will this time. I half thought that DCL swapped round formal and semi-formal night so people could wear costumes and formal gear but when I posted on the main board someone thought that they kept formal night as the 31st. Any idea? Emma has a great costume for Halloween but she also has the most beautiful dress for formal night. I know she could wear the dress another night but it may not feel the same.

04-05-2004, 10:08 AM
Hi All!
Karen, I can't remember but I may still have 2002's Navigators. I'll get back to you in a few days about that, have to go dig in the attic to see if I still have them.
I sure hope Emma will grace us with her presence in costume at our T-or-T, maybe as an escort for my Ashley. I know how she loves to go T-or-T'ing.princess:

04-05-2004, 10:18 AM
Thanks, Ginger, don't put yourself to too much trouble! I'm sure Emma will be there. She has a very Disney look to her costume this time but I'd better not give it away!

04-05-2004, 10:20 AM
Thanks, Ginger, don't put yourself to too much trouble! I'm sure Emma will be there. She has a very Disney look to her costume this time but I'd better not give it away!

Mind you, her formal dress, which we have bought for her school prom is just stunning and I know she wants to wear it on the cruise. She looks very much the young lady in it and I am so proud of her (if she reads this, she will be saying "Oh Mother!!)

04-05-2004, 10:27 AM
And you should be very proud of her, she is a beautiful young lady, can't wait to see that gown.
Are you going to organize a High Tea for us gals this year? If so add me to the list. No bingo for me this year, I lost my bum last year on it. We'll have 3 days this year for brunches and teas.:Pinkbounc

04-05-2004, 10:35 AM
I would love to do High Tea also. :teeth:

04-05-2004, 12:34 PM
There are three days for high tea on the Eastern? Wow, great. On our Western cruise, the last reservation was taken by the lady one in front of me. We were about tenth in line to get on the ship, too.:(

I was very disappointed to miss High Tea.

Anchors aweigh,

04-05-2004, 12:46 PM
We'll be at BCV the week before the cruise, mainly to go to MNSSHP. Anyone else going to the party? If so, what day?

04-05-2004, 02:17 PM
We will be at the Boardwalk Villas for a week before we cruise and will be going to MNSSHP. Not sure which night yet.

High Tea - I wasn't able to make a booking last year, despite being quite early onto the ship. If someone who will be on really early wants to try I would be up for joining in but I'm not sure we would be aboard early enough.

Failing that, last year some of us met in the Cove Cafe one afternoon instead of Hight Tea.

04-05-2004, 06:53 PM
Oh Mother!!!

I do hope they change the nights, I'll have such a terrible dillema if not. And Ginger I most certainly shall come and show off my costume to you all!

04-06-2004, 10:49 AM
alwatlers: My daughter will be thrilled that she can TorT. She will be turning 13 in 2 days but is still so young and innocent at heart.princess:

Karen: I got your email, and will call Disney as soon as I get the chance to link us together. :hyper: I don't know why my countdown is 1 hour ahead of you. Maybe because I get to the terminal so early.:teeth: Usually me and Ginger are fighting it out for who is going to be first in line!!!!:p

Ginger: It will only be me, Michael, Ashley and Emily sailing this year. The 2 boys and my MIL may go also. But that is a big change from last year! The rest of my family is not as much of a Disney fanatic as I am. I don't know if we will be staying at the Raddison or not. I would like to for the convienence of it. I'll let you know as we get closer.

I would also love to do High Tea, since there are no other adult women sailing with me:earsgirl: If I am one of the first few on line to board, I would be happy to book for High Tea.

04-06-2004, 11:35 AM
Hey, Dena, don't let the boys hear you say Brendan isn't going. They will really miss him. Tell him to do what has to be done to get on board!! We're really looking forward to sharing a table with you - you are such a lovely family. I'm sure Emma will be happy to spend some time with Ashley.

Carolyn, if you're out there, get in touch with your ressie number so we can add you to our table.

Dena, if you do book the high tea, count me in. I was just too late to book it last year but would love to try it.

It's starting to feel really exciting now. All these plans. Can't wait.

04-07-2004, 11:43 PM

My family and I will be staying at Wilderness Lodge and try to go to the halloween party. We'll go either the 28th or 29th. Not sure yet.

04-08-2004, 08:23 AM
I'll also be at MNSSHP as usual, but have not decided upon the date yet. I know I won't go the day before the cruise though.

04-08-2004, 03:27 PM
If the "proposed" dates I've seen elsewhere are going to be real dates, we'll go to MNSSHP on Tuesday before the cruise.

04-08-2004, 09:11 PM
I'm pretty sure we will go on the Thursday before the cruise. I end up being the cruise director for our group and I told the other couple that is coming with us that I'm going and if she wants to go that's up to her. She laughed at me. But then everyone does that! lol

04-09-2004, 09:55 AM
Vikingfans - I won't laugh at you!

Happy Easter to all Magic Halloween cruisers.

04-12-2004, 02:27 PM
Happy day after Easter to everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.:) We went up to Disney on Thursday evening and stayed at the Fort Wilderness cabins. We celebrated Ashleys 13th bithday. We didn't go to any of the parks, just hung around the pool, and went to the campfire at night and made smores. It was a nice relaxing time.

Then we spent the next two days at my cousins house in Fort Myers FL. We had a great time, but the baby did NOT like the three hour car ride!!!

Well, thats about all for now. Have a great day!

04-12-2004, 03:06 PM
Hi Dena. Say Happy Birthday to Ashley from all of us.

04-12-2004, 07:31 PM
Hi All!

Dena sounds like you had a great weekend. Happy Belated Birthday to your Ashley.

What's going on here everyone linking ressies for dinner????

I'll try to book the Tea, we usually board early. I'll post a threat for interested persons to sign up on on the site taswira has made for us.

Boy, I would love to go to the MNSSHP this year but DH said NO!!! not again.:( Oh well, I'll save those points for a longer stay next year. I'm thinking about early Feb. to celebrate his and Ashley's birthdays.

04-12-2004, 07:31 PM
Hope everyone had a blessed Easter.

04-12-2004, 08:54 PM
Thanks Teri we had a nice Easter, hope you did also.

High Tea is offfered on Sea days, Sunday, Monday and Thursday 3:30-4:30 pm.

What day would be best for our High Tea????? Sunday which is Halloween? What time is our T-or-T planned for??? DCL's was 2:00-3:00 last year. Monday our 2nd day at Sea or Thursday our last day at sea plus Final Bingo Jackpot Day which is usually the same time as High Tea 3:30 pm..

04-13-2004, 02:47 PM
Ginger, I am easy on what day we choose but it strikes me that it may be best to avoid trick or treat day and to keep away from the bingo in case someone (I wonder who that could be - LOL) wants to go to that. In other words go for the Monday. But I will go with the majority view.

Is this ladies only or is it open to anyone? I have a DH who LOVES chocolate eclairs & scones but who wouldn't want to be the only man amongst a load of women. (Well he might in some circumstances but I don't think this is one of them).

04-14-2004, 08:46 AM
Less than 200 days away.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

High Tea for everyone, that is as long as they are over the age of 18.
I love the scones too. YUMMY!!!!!
Monday sounds good to me, anyone else.

04-14-2004, 10:03 AM
Mark will now have a big smile on his face. Do you think I can sneak away an extra eclair for Emma? That girl loves sugar!

04-14-2004, 04:30 PM
Where do they usually hold high tea?

04-14-2004, 04:40 PM
Under 200!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :jester:

04-14-2004, 04:54 PM
High Tea is in Palo.

Yes, less than 200 to go. It will be here before we know it.

04-15-2004, 09:50 AM
My DH would love to go to high tea as well. Last year we only did a girls high tea and he was a little dissapointed. Not that he likes tea all that much, but he hates to be left out.

I think we are doing MNNSHP, we havent missed a year yet. But we will probably go a week or two before the cruise.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

04-18-2004, 06:35 PM
Karen, I'm sure we can sneak an eclair or 2 out of Palo. Last year the lady I had tea with wanted to take her DH a trifle (did I spell the correctly)? Our server got us one to go. Plus, Emmy can I have my eclair I'm not fond of them.

So we have:

Karen and Mark
Dena and Michael

04-18-2004, 07:41 PM
I would love to join you guys if I can sneek away from my hubby and boys. I'll let you know soon.

04-18-2004, 08:39 PM
Let me know if you start a sign up list for tea.

04-22-2004, 09:50 AM
Hello everyone! Boy are we falling behind on the chatting!! How is everyone doing? We are all well here in FLA!:)

The kids are counting down the days until summer vacation.

My oldest son Alex just found out he got the bright futures scholorship for collage. YEA!!! That covers 75% of his tuition plus $300.00 for lab and book fees. That will sure help out ALOT!!!!:teeth:

Emily is growing fast, she is already 2 months old. She is smiling and cooing up a storm. I LOVE having a baby around again!!

And finally, Ashley and Brendan just had their birthdays turning 13 and 14.

Have a great day everyone.

04-22-2004, 05:14 PM
It HAS been a long time since I've gotten to chat with anyone on here. Since my last post I've gotten more planning done for our trip. My hubby and are are bringing some friends that have been once and they are bringing their 12 year old with them. We are staying on property from 10/27 till 10/30. Then we are sending the 12 year old back to Omaha and we are getting on the cruise.

I'm having a ball playing travel agent.

You all have helped make this planning experience a blast! I'm so glad someone on Themouseforless chat told me about this!!! You all are fabulous!!!!

:sunny: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :sunny: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :sunny:
I can't wait to go to MNSSHP!

I'm counting the days!! Can't ya tell!!!::yes::

04-23-2004, 01:45 PM
I have not done any planning for this trip yet. As you can see from my previous posts I have been VERY BUSY. I am now trying to decide if we are going to have a graduation party for my son. MORE WORK:hyper:

We are buying a new car today. Well, its not really new, its used and its not really a car its and SUV. Its a 2002 Suzuki XL-7 and it is beautiful. The woman who owned it kept it in perfect condition. It will be my car. YEA!!!:earseek: I can't wait to get it.

Have a great day everyone.

04-23-2004, 03:12 PM
Dena, lovely to hear from you. It's high time we got this thread rocking. Less than 6 months to go now. can't wait.

The boys would like an update on Brendan. Any news on whether he will be cruising with you?
How about Alex? Will he be at college.

Roll on October. It will be great.

04-25-2004, 09:53 AM
Hi All:wave:
I agree we must get this thread rolling on. WOW!!!!! less than 6 months to go. OH!!!!! I'm no where near ready. I've got to start my pre-cruise diet. BOY!!!! I've got a lot to lose this time. I've not been well, had to have a little operation so I've been having a major petty party. I'm back on the road to recovery, went back to work on Thursday and they are already hitting me with overtime:mad:

Dena, our Congrats to Alex :Pinkbounc :bounce: on his scholorship. That is great, we've already started gently pushing Ashley to keep up her good grades. She's in the Gift Childrens program. Learning comes very easy for her, thank goodness, she doesn't take after her old Mom and Dad. Also congrats to you on the new SUV. Drive Carefully.

High Tea on Monday if that is O.K. with eveyone. I have started the list.

BTW ALL !!!!!!! Please don't feel that by signing up for any of the activities we post here comments you to it once we are on ship. You'll find that there are so many things to do that you may just change your mind. No one will have hurt feeling if you decided not to attend, we completely understand that this is your vacation. The only thing that I ask is that you let the person who has made the ressies for that particular activity know that you wish to cancel out so they can change the ressies.

O.K. with all that said I want to wish everyone a GREAT DAY:sunny: . I'm off to the gym to bet myself up.
Man it H... getting old::Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :wave2:

04-25-2004, 04:37 PM
WOW just 6 more months to go.. Double digits will be here before we know it. Today is my DS Austin's 10th bitrhday, he to is excited about himself hitting a double digit. For his birthday we gave him a puppy, which he has been asking for, on every holiday known to us for the past 4 years. He named him Disney, thats my boy. Well we are off to our party, its LSU themed, he wouldn;t let me plan yet another disney theme this year. Hope you all are well.

04-26-2004, 11:40 AM
Hey everyone:sunny:

GINGER: Sorry to hear about your operation. I hope all is well and you are feeling better. Definately put me on the list for tea Monday sounds fine to me

KAREN: I am pretty sure Alex will not be cruising with us, not so much because he will be taking college classes, but becuase of his London trip he is going on in 3 days. As far as Brendan goes, that is still up in the air. He just got some birthday money and decided to buy a new computer. So unless he gets a summer job, to help pay for his ticket, he won't be going either.

Well, I am off to take Emily to the Drs. for her 2 month check up. She has to get 4 shots today.:earseek: My poor baby!!!

Have a great day everyone.

Hi there!
Just wanted to mention that I just came back from an RCI cruise and while it was very nice, it just wasn't Disney! My sister and I treated my Mom to her first cruise and for mostly financial reasons, we decided to go RCI (Disney was $1,000 more). The ship (Enchantment of the Seas) was lovely but it didn't have that feeling of Disney magic that I felt on our 2 DCL cruises. And while I found the crew members helpful, I found that they didn't smile very much and didn't go out of their way to greet you or help you. The DCL CMs did all of that. There were a few things that were better (nicer buffet restaurant, more deck chairs available by the pool but probably because there weren't many children on the cruise) but on the whole, Disney was much better.

Anyway, just wanted to say that it really made me excited for the Disney Cruise in October! And probably the fact that I wasn't with my DH and kids made a big difference too. At least we're well under 200 days now!

I'm going to sign up for the tea too! After seeing all the posts, it would be so nice to spend some time with all of you since you all seem so nice!

04-27-2004, 11:33 PM
Well, my DH and I want to be a place where the kids can go trick or treating. We don't have any kids, but they can come to our room. I can't wait!!!!

04-28-2004, 12:11 PM
2 months and all my exams will be over, that's what I've got to keep thinking is it not?!

I've got a week until my drama exams and my teacher's been ordered to stay off until she's fully recovered so goodness knows whether she'll be back in next week to mark our practical pieces or not. I have no maths teacher and no Chemistry teacher. I have my French speaking exam in a week and a half. I can't be stressed though, my hair's not falling out as of yet!

I do get to wear my lovely formal dress next Friday thought because it's our year 11 formal dinner and it's all going to be lovely!

Lynda Silk
04-28-2004, 12:20 PM
Where did your math and chemistry teachers go?

Hang in there and keep studying! And have fun at your formal dinner!!!

04-28-2004, 12:33 PM
My Chemistry teacher got another job and left at Easter, my maths teacher is ill yet again! Now, repeat after me, it's all going to be fine!

Lynda Silk
04-28-2004, 01:51 PM
Okay, it's all going to be fine!

04-28-2004, 09:34 PM
It's going to be fine

04-29-2004, 03:02 AM
Darling, it WILL be fine because you have worked really hard. And please remember that as long as you do your best that is all that matters and Dad and I are really proud of you. Sorry if this embarrasses you but I want everyone to know that we think you are the best daughter anyone could want.

04-29-2004, 01:10 PM
Just stopping in to say Hi.....Boy it seems this cruise will never come :)

04-29-2004, 01:43 PM
I bet it will be here and over before we know it! I don't know whether to look forward to it or not since when that's rolled around, China will all be over!

And it will be fine, my drama teacher is back and they are making an effort in maths!

05-02-2004, 09:15 PM
I know it's getting closer, because I just bought my tickets to MNSSHP! So now the next item I needed is taken care of.

Still working on air-fair for my friends.

Wish me luck!

05-04-2004, 04:33 PM
Hi All!
Just popping my head in to tell Emma, it's going to be better than fine, "IT'S GOING TO BE GREAT!".

Have a wonderful time at your formal.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Good luck VFans on finding super savings for your friends.

05-04-2004, 04:45 PM
Well my drama exam went quite well. I felt like I did the best I could have done and there weren't too many mistakes. French speaking exam's the next one to worry about.

I get to wear my lovely formal dress on Friday, it's so exciting!

05-08-2004, 06:07 PM
Hey!!!!! where is everyone???????

I just wanted to stop in to wish all the Mom's a happy day tomorrow.:sunny:
