Sweetspot: Glad to hear you got yours. Maybe mine will come soon.
Lynda: I didn't go to the gym today, but worked really hard all week. Lost about 2 lbs. Going out this weekend, and will probably gain back 3. Sometimes it's a losing battle.:charac2:
Shari: I loved all the pictuers. Maybe I'll get DH to send you one of ours. I can't wait to see people on board and say " Are you so and so, cause I saw your picture on our dis board."
Dena: So glad your back. I heard in the food store today that someone in your area still was without power. I was thinking about you and the kids. Gald you're okay. sorry to hear of your MIL. Hope things clean-up alright.
Karen: Only a few more hours and Emma will be in your arms. DS Andrew will look forward to I'ming her soon.

Judi, just got this from that same lady....
Just got home from work and DH tells me that the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Cocoa Beach called today to follow up on the email regarding closing of the resort. They do not anticipate reopening before Thanksgiving, and maybe not til after the first of the year. They must have been hit extremely hard....of course it is an older property, but that seems kind of long compared to some

Michelle your ahead of the game if you lost 2 lbs even if you gain back 3 you're really only gaining back 1. Working out in any form, walking, running, weights also house work and yard work are good for you. Keep moving.
Aw! Robyn, now your being a party pooper.:teeth:
I going to dig through our photo and see if I have any that aren't to old and with the all of us in it.
Shari have a good time today.
Off to work.

Thanks, Ginger. :teeth:
I'm headed over to WDW in a bit, but just a reminder, folks: When you send me your photo, <font color="red"><B><I>please</I> include your DIS name</B></font>. I don't know the last name of most of you, and if there are multiple people with the same first name I may not be able to pinpoint which one you are on our cruiser list.
Look for any new pics on the site tomorrow morning. ;)
Thanks!

No sign of our Docs yet either!!! I want them soooooo bad . We have been busy with getting things bought for the cruise and helping my sister get her stuff together for the wedding. If anyone knows of a restaurant on St Thomas that is nice, we wanted to take her out after the ceremony for a celebratory lunch. Also do you know if I can order a cake from Disney to serve the night of her wedding?
Dena- Glad you made ok with the storm. I can sure relate to the panic you were feeling,it sucks being in the Hurricane Zone.
Karen- I am so glad Emma is coming home you must be so excited.
Shari- Thanks for putting the pics up, it is fun putting a face with the names.
Michelle- Congrats on the 2lbs I am jealous..... I still have 10 more lbs to go.
Toni- My mom sisters and I decided to be Spider Ladies and the Guys will be Pirates.
My DN Gabby is going to be a GO-GO Dancer.
Afternoon all,
It's cloudy/rainy here and I wanted to get out in that garden and try to clean it up for the winter.
I'm wainting on that postal person to see if those doc's are here yet.!!!
Wendy: I guess you are very excited about your sister getting married. Can the ship's captian marry them or because it's not in the US it won't be legal?:)
Ginger: Working very hard. Hey, how are you doing with your cholesterol? Had mine taken last week and I had a total of 179, HDL was 79 and LDL was 93. Guess this working out thing is at least keeping me healthy.
Shari: We wnet to send you a picture last night. I'll have to talk with DH to see if it went through. I'll PM you cause I did forget to put my dis name on it. My Bad!!!;)
Well, better go and do that wash. Won't get done by itself. Oh I wish!!!

<B>mhb</B> (and some others who left off their DIS name): I went through the cruiser list and figured it out. No problem. But anyone whose DIS name is not included that I <I>can't</I> figure out will have a delay in getting their pic posted. ;)
I just got back from a wonderful day at WDW (No rain!) and posted pics for mhb, Jaypd and Ginger. (Ginger is only letting us see her hiding behind sunglasses - LOL!). These pics complete one page. Thanks everyone! Additional pics of DIS cruisers will go on a second page linked from the first. That way those like myself on dial-up won't have to wait an eternity for the pages to load. :earseek:
<B>dis4me</B>: If the photo is on your computer, you should be able to go into your Windows Explorer (if it's a Windows PC) and view the file attributes (including size) for that file. Or if you are viewing the picture, you should be able to right click on it, select "properties" from the list that appears, and see the file size. If you use a photo editing program, just re-size the picture to not more than 700 pixels in width and save it at "medium" resolution as a jpeg (.jpg) file, and it should be fine.
Keep in mind that these photos are for viewing on the Web just to help us recognize each other. High-resolution photos are NOT desirable for this purpose. :smooth:

Sorry, but my glasses get very dark when I'm in the sun. I think we were at the World that day. Ashley's was taken on CC.
Michelle, great Cholesterol numbers, can I get a sample of your blood before the cruise. I'll use it for my next test.
She's home!!!!!!!! I have just brought Emma back from the airport and she has had a wonderful time. I'm sure she will post herself later to tell you more.

Yep, I am indeed home. Gosh it feels a bit funny typing! All I've used my hands for really the last two weeks has been using chopsticks but you'll be glad to hear that I'm now a dab hand at it.
I had an absolutely amazing time and I'd do it all again in an instant. I was quite homesick on the first day and I wanted to show my mum all the things I was seeing and tell her all about it but we were so well looked after.
I'm going to go and read my friend's livejournal and catch up on the goings on in my lovely hometown and then I'll post and tell you all about my wonderful adventure.

10-03-2004, 07:27 AM
Well it doesn't seem like I've missed much at all so I can launch into telling you all about my adventures.
Tuesday 21st/Wednesday 22nd-I got up at 6:30 I think and we left the house at 7:30 after a final check that I had everything I needed. We picked up my boyfriend, Ben, who had the smallest case I have ever seen in my life. His french horn case was bigger than it! This was no bad thing in retrospect since we also had to pick Rachel up and her case was substantially larger.
We were the first ones at the airport so we went for a coffee and visited the toilet numerous times. When 9:30 rolled round and a few sightings of excited choir members had been made, we gathered at the check in desk and waited for everyone to arrive. There were 24 of us assembled but 25 of us going and the person missing was our headteacher. Eventually he turned up just as we were planning to go on ahead without him since he had his own ticket and passport and we began the process of saying goodbye and weighing luggage. Mine weighed 18.8 kg and Ben's was 12 kg meaning it was light enough for him to have taken through as hand luggage... The heaviest case was Mr Hughes', our headteacher!
The flights were ok, pretty boring but we survived them. I got some work done, though not nearly as much as I'd hoped I'd manage but then I did spend a while trying, in vain, to sleep. I hate trying to sleep on planes and this time round was no different. I think I squeezed 30 minutes out of 3 hours, if that.
As you can imagine, I wasn't exactly full of energy when we arrived but I got a kick all the same to see three people holding up a piece of paper saying 'Fairfield High School'. Once aboard our bus, we were introduced to these people who were to be our guides for the time we spent in Beijing. There was John (who actually stayed with us for the whole holiday), Helena (she was just great) and Ewan (I'm sure he was lovely too but I couldn't understand a word he said).
It took a while to get to the hotel since it was rushhour and the Chinese roads really are something else. Later on in the holiday, Rachel B made up a joke that summed it up - how do you pass a Chinese driving test? Turn on the engine and check the horn is working.
We checked into our hotel and went to freshen up a bit. We didn't have much time but during the hour we did have I managed to almost break my back on the bed I tried to collapse onto since it was like an ironing board, brush my teeth in Chinese water and convince myself I was going to die and get changed.
We met in the lobby and were taken for Chinese banquet number one. I was a little apprehensive about what I'd get to eat and how I'd manage with chopsticks but it was a lot of fun. I did get the hang of eating rice and we were fed quite well. The first thing I tried was pickeled cabbage which was not nice but the other bits and bobs I could eat were, plus the rice was fairly new and I hadn't exhausted that yet!
After lunch we visited the Temple of Heaven. It was pretty amazing but it all looked kind of fake to me. It was a problem I had throughout the holiday, all the palaces were just too elaborate and colourful to be believable!
We trudged round for a while, trying to keep our eyes open but without much success. We came to a nice, quiet little spot and Mrs Whittingham asked if it was ok for us to sing We sang O Ye Narembo, Tong Ye Show Ger and Auld Langs Syne for our guides and it went down well. I was rather relieved that they didn't find anything mortally offensive in the chinese song!
We braved the roads once more on our little bus after that and had an hour back at the hotel to get changed and showered so I felt a little better for having some clean hair on my head.
At 7 we met downstairs in the lobby again so we could walk to Chinese meal number two. It wasn't as nice, I didn't think. They did look after me but they served me some odd egg dish which wasn't possible to eat by itself or with chopsticks so I had to stick it in with some rice. I'm sure there was some really nice part of the meal but I can't remember it. Actually, maybe I did think to myself that it wasn't worth nearly dying crossing the road for.
By about 9pm I'd collapsed with a little more care into the ironing board they had provided as a bed, shivering to myself since my room mate had put the airconditioning on full welly.

Emma,
You HAVE to talk to my husband. He was in China for 9 weeks for work and had the very same thing to say about the traffic.
I'll bet you two can swap great stories.
I'm glad you had a wonderful time. I would love to see your pictures!

Well no docs yesterday either:mad:
And since the post office won't deliver on Sunday I guess I will have to wait til Monday
Shari- I sent you a photo of my niece Gabrielle who is sailing with us, could you please attach it to our photo, so she will speak to me again.
Michelle- My sister is getting married on Maghan's Bay by someone from St. Thomas we have a wedding planner in St Thomas helping us out. My niece was over today and saw your photo on the site, she is the same age as your daughter Rachel and would like to email if Rachel is interested. We are right down the hall from you guys in cabin 6089, and she would love to have a friend on board.:chat:
Ginger- That is a great pic of Ashley, it screams that she has personality and is quite a hoot to be around.
Emma- It sounds like you had a great time, you are very lucky to be traveling so young in life.
Karen- I am happy for you that Emma is home, but my niece was jealous that your countdown clock had less days than ours did LOL:confused:

However, I asked everyone to limit their submission to one photo each (with a few exceptions) because we have so many cruisers that if too many submitted multiple photos it would consume an excessive amount of space my server. <font color=C30003>The original idea was to have a photo of each of the DIS <B>users</B> on the cruise in order to match the picture to the DIS name, not of every cruiser.</font> Family shots are <I>great</I>, but if you send a photo of <I>yourself</I> (the posting DIS member), it will help us recognize each other and <I>then</I> make introductions to the rest of the family.
So if you have a "family shot," go ahead and send it to me. If you have a picture of just yourself (the DIS member), send that. But please don't think you need to send a picture of everyone in your party. I don't know about everyone else here, but the more faces I see in the pictures, the fewer I am apt to remember - LOL.

I'll be posting the list in group order, please make a copy of it.
The group leaders will have maps with the decks that have participating rooms. Each group will start on a different deck moving there way around the ship until they have visited all the participating stateroom. By doing this we can move the children through the halls with more order and quickly.
If you are not going to be traveling with your child(ren) please check with their group leader for their last stateroom location. That will be your pickup location, estimating about an hour from the time they leave the lobby to finish.

Ginger: you can give MHB our spot in Group 1 and we can take group 2 if this will help you out! We aren't traveling with anyone and my boys are very flexible. They are just excited to be going.
Do you think we could get a table in the lobby to place my laptop so we can download the pictures? I don't need to plug it in, will just run off the battery. If not maybe we can go somewhere afterward and download the pictures. I'll make the copies in my room and drop off the orders at the staterooms.

And you thought that was it?! No, no, I'm afraid you're going to have to endure an entry like that for every single day of my trip. I'll edit them later to add some photos and then post the link to them all once I know where my dad's stored them for me.
Thursday 23rd September - I didn't sleep very well at all that night despite having been awake for more than 30 hours. I was totally confused as to what time it was and kept waking up thinking it was nearly time for the alarm to go off. The ironing board didn't help matters and at 3am I decided I could no longer stand it and so found an extra douvet to lie on. It padded things out a little but it wasn't exactly what one might call comfortable. I eventually fell asleep and was dead to the world by about 6:50 but of course, the alarm was due to go off at 7!
Breakfast was - how shall I say this - interesting. It saw Miss Robinson trying to ask for a knife, James using chopsticks to spread jam onto his croissant and Ben eating noodles with chopsticks in a very odd fashion. He was not happy to be coached by Hanna on how to eat and would probably have poked her eyes out with the chopsticks had I not been sat inbetween them. As for me, I had a croissant and jam (spread with the communal knife rather than with chopsticks) and a slice of cake with icing so bright that Kathryn thought it would turn my poo pink. I told her I'd let her know.
We left the hotel at 8:30 and battled the rush hour traffic to get to the Forbidden City. Once we were there I had an "oh my, I'm actually in China" moment when I was stood looking at one of the buildings with a breeze across my face and the sound of excited chatter and Chinese music in my ears. I tried to capture the moment with my camera but I'm not sure I succeeded. We carried on pushing our way through the city, trying to translate Ewan into an English we could understand. No mean feat when you consider he spoke Chinglish and we speak Widnesian!
There was nearly an outrage when the dawdlers amongst us came toddling over to us with ice creams melting over their sticky little fingers. The worst tantrum came, unsurprisingly, from Ben who had to be promised one at a later date before he would move from the spot he had rooted himself to.
Helena took us to a shop which was priced to match the number of tourists it would encounter. This didn't stop Kathryn buying a purple parasol which became her new prized posession. I still remain adament that it is not an umbrella with holes in because why would anyone want an umbrella that had holes in?
After leaving the shop, we made our way back to the roadside to get on our coach. There were so many street sellers shouting "one doller" at us that we all just formed a huge line and tried to run through the crowds. That worked quite well but to our disappointment, our coach wasn't actually there yet so we had to stand round and wait whilst we were bombarded by people wanting to sell us watches and models and all manner of things for one doller. The coach arrived not a moment too soon and we all beat off the crowds of people and jumped aboard.
The coach took us at breakneck speed to lunch, beeping his horn as he went. I really enjoyed this meal, particularly the lovely bread things you dipped into honey (which tasted more like custard to me and everyone else at my table) and the sweet potatoes covered in caramelised sugar. The only problem with these things was that we didn't know you weren't supposed to just take them off the plate and get sugar everywhere until the waitress came over with a bowl of warm water, took James' chopsticks off him and demonstrated the art of dipping the potato in the water so that the sugar froze. James sheepishly wiped the sugar from his nose, thanked her and tucked in.
Once we'd been pryed from the delicious banquet, we rolled back into the coach and headed for Tiannenman Square. When I got there, my eyes would just not stop streaming so I decided I must be allergic to the place but about 5 minutes later I was fine again. I took lots of photos and was photographed rather a lot myself, not least by a photographer from a newspaper who wanted one of our whole group to go in the paper the following week.
It took about an hour to walk round the whole square which isn't surprising considering it is the largest square in the world, even bigger than the Red Square in Moscow. It took us even longer to buy ice creams but we decided it had better be done since that boyfried of mine would only have thrown another tantrum.
We finished taking photos of Tiannenman Square and then went to a lovely little park. We didn't see much of it though because our guides made the mistake of telling us we could go to the toilet if we wanted to. Public toilets in China tend to be mainly holes in the floor, that sounds unhygienic but most of them are ok really but by this stage of our holiday not many of us were willing to try them. For this reason Helena took us all round this park in search of western toilets. Bless her! We thanked her profusely and learnt the Chinese for thank you.
We spent another half an hour in the park after that but Kathryn spotted some pedelos and wanted a go so we thought it best to escort her out of there. That and it was time for our fourth Chinese banquet. The food was really good so I was quite looking forward to seeing what we'd be served with. Plus it was always good fun using chopsticks, spinning the table round and trying new things. My favourites on this particular evening were the bread things again, a dried pineapple or pasta type thing that we couldn't figure out what it was and an egg dish made especially for me. The only issue with this was using chopsticks to eat it - I defy anyone to be able to eat something with the texture of egg custard with chopsticks. Helena sorted me out again though and I had it with some rice which I thoroughly enjoyed.
We were rushed out of the restaurant after a quick wee (the oriental way) and almost losing Lucy, and we went on our way to an acrobatics show. We were tootling along, beeping our horn in our little coach when we stopped all of a sudden. It turned out we'd bumped into a car (it was only a matter of time, let's face it) and so we had to walk to the theatre, thus missing the first 15 minutes of the show. I didn't mind though since Helena had told Mrs Whittingham that I was very brisk and beautiful!
The show was amazing and my photos don't do it justice at all but I can only try. My favourites were probably the gymnasts and the guys on the poles at the end but they were all incredible. You'd expect it really given the amount of training they apparently do.
On the way back, they took us past Tiannenman Square to see it all lit up. It was stunning but I have no photos of that since the flash would only have reflected the windows on the coach. John also tried to teach us some Chinese which wasn't exactly successful. I did manage to learn hello, thank you and I love you by the time we were going home though. He threatened or promised to teach us some more the next day on our way to The Great Wall.
Julia, Ben and Rachel came into our room for a bit that evening and we had a bit of a giggle about the day's events. The five of us were the permenant fixtures but throughout the evening we had 10 visitors, 6 phonecalls and 5 knocks at the door. Little did Hanna know that it was just people coming to rescue me from her watching Chinese tv!

Ginger: Thanks from me too re the TorTing! You did a great job!
Emma: I just love reading about your trip! Sounds fantastic! Keep 'em coming!
Shari: I'm working on sending a photo but I'm not too computer savy so that is why it's taking so long! Love seeing the photos of the other cruisers though! Thanks for setting it up!
I had to work over the weekend because I was given a "special" project and the deadline was today! It had to do with government reforms re car insurance in Alberta effective Oct 1. I spent about a week creating all this training material, and then on the day before the legislation became effective, the government changed a few things! Unbelievable! So a lot of my training material was wrong! So I spent Friday and a lot of the weekend redoing a lot of my documents! Anyway, that's why I haven't been around much! I had to shoo my kids away from the computer at home too, so they haven't been able to email anyone for a while. Hopefully, they'll be able to catch up this week!
Have a good day, everyone!

They are doing some upgrades on the server today, so if you have any problems reaching our cruise website, please just try again a couple of hours later.
When you do reach it, you will see that I have started a <I>second page</I> of cruiser pics, starting with <I>Jamashp</I>! :teeth:

Hold on to your seats!!!OUR DOCS ARE HERE IN WEST VIRGINIA I was downtown today but they weren't in yet, but on my way home I got the call. Didn't have time to go back so I will either go after the boys get home or go tomorrow. Alan was invited to participate in the People to People Student Ambassador programs so we have a meeting in Wheeling WV tonight. So we have to get homework done first since it is over an hour away and we won't get home until 9:30-10:00 pm. His group if chosen will be going to England, France and Normandy for 19 days while earning high school credit. He had to be nominated by someone(not sure who did it) and if he is chosen he has to try and raise the $3000 dollars(approx) for the travel. I guess they said we can get corporate sponsors to help. Find out more tonight.
Got to go decorate the outside for Halloween/Fall. Got corn stalks and straw. Grew 6 small pumpkins so we just need to get the boys 2 big ones to carve for fun. I have 2 boxes in the basement with decorations that need to be put out. This is late for me usually it is done in September. I just haven't really worried since we won't be here but decided I will get it done in the next day or two.
Have a great day!
Just an update, we went down got our documents::yes:: :teeth:
So now I have something to do during this meeting tonight!
bye again for now

Judi, Thank you for trading spaces with Michelle on the t-or-t list. Wishing your son good luck tonight.
Shari, thank you for all of your hard work. I have truely been enjoying our photo gallery. Going there as soon as I finish this post to see the new additions.

Very excited about going and starting my new job... seems like there is SSSOO much to do in leaving this job that I'll never get it all done. Been in this job more than 5 years so teaching someone else is going to be hard. I know too much. Having to write things down all the time.
Emma, your trip sounds awsome! You need to talk with my hubby about the food you ate. He may remember the names of it.
Will be doin the doc dance soon!
It's 5 am and sort of slow night at work. I'm a night shift nurse.
Was just taking a moment to look at boards. It seems there are a lot of south Jersey and Philly people on the cruise. Aslo an Eagles fan even more so this year without the Flyers. Just a thought if Eagles play on Halloween maybe I will have to be an Eagles fan for Halloween.
Still no Docs here either. Also DVC member hope they are coming today.
Hope everyone has a nice day mine is almost over. 2 hours to go
Debbie
Good Morning everyone;
Vikingfans: Glad you called DVC. Saves me a call. I just have to wait till you get the Docs, and see if mine come too. When do you start your new job?:)
Judi: How did that meeting go last night. My oldest DS has gotten those letter for different things too. Also thought it would cost too much so never went to the meetings. Both boys have also gotten them for bowling. Seems you can go all over with a bowling team. My DD wants to carve the pumpkin we grew too. I just don't feel like all that mess, but I guess it won't be Halloween without carving pumpkins and eating the seeds.
Toni: Doc appt went well, thanks for the thoughts. The EAGLES play the Ravens on Halloween so I guess the 2 DH's can both root for the EAGLES right!!:hyper:
Lynda: Are you done your project? When are you done with this job? I thought you said something about starting a new one after the cruise.
Debbie: Hope work went well last night. I'm thinking about getting the pirate things from Oriental Trading. Do you want them too?
Well, I've got work today and 3-4 bridal parties to get ready. Not to mention that the owner is going away a week before me and coming back after me. What was she thinking?
have a good day everyone,

Good morning all. Things are almost back to normal around here. I had to babysit for my 14 month old niece yesterday, as my sisters daycare had no power up until last night. My other sister Kim (the pregnant one), her husband and my almost 3yr old niece have been staying with us since Friday. They got power at their house on Sunday, but with my sister still getting IV fluids and still being so sick, she doesnt want to go home and be by herself during the day.
Schools finally started yesterday, so now we will see when and how many of these 6 missed days we have to make up.
Ginger: Thanks for all the time and effort you put into the TorTing list. It seems very organized this year!:teeth:
Still no docs here, but we booked through DVC so I guess we will get them this week some time too.
EMMA: Glad you had a great trip and made it back to your mum safe and sound.:p
Karen: Yes, we are still on for the 24th at EPCOT. Hopefully it wont be as hot or crowded as it was last year!

Hi everyone!
Dena: glad to see you're back and that everything is almost back to normal! Hope it doesn't take too long for everyone to get their power, etc. back!
Michelle: yes, I finished the project yesterday morning! Had to stay up until 12:30am Saturday to do most of it, so I'm so beat now!!! Just couldn't believe the government making that last minute change that will affect all the insurance companies in the province! I was ticked but I bet the computer people were ready to revolt because all the systems for each insurance company would have had to be changed at the last minute too! Re my new job, I'm writing my exam for my licence on Nov 8 (right after we get back...yuck!) and then I'm starting the new job on Nov 11. Gives me a few days to get the laundry done after the cruise!
Judi: how did the meeting go last night? This sounds like a wonderful opportunity for your son!
vikingfans: what's your new job? I must say, your timing is impeccable rescheduling job start and end dates and vacation in between!
I went to the Toronto DIS meet on Saturday and it was so much fun! Two people are going on the Repo cruise; boy, that sounds like a blast! There weren't too many of us, around 7 of us, because a lot of the Toronto DISers were either on the cruise or at WDW! But it was great talking about Disney and boy, these folks sure know their way around WDW and how to get the best deals! I only stayed for 3 hours but wished I could have stayed longer (the meet lasted 5 hours)! It was a nice "kickoff" for me for our own vacation.

OK Went to the party store today and bougth pirate costumes for the kids. DS is way to small and has to be rturned. The girlsare cute. Do you think it is worth dressing as pirates if they are wearing something different for Halloween?
dd2 is being Minnie Ds is being Buzz DD1 is undecided.I bought mysoef a devil cstume-Not sureif I will wear it though. I got all my goodies for the treat bags. Well not the candy but spiders and vampire teeth bats etc: courseit is ll cheaper at Orientall Trading I found out when the catalogue came today but nonetheless I no have it.
I am thinking skittles lollipops THings that don't melt.
OK I am rambling now. Any opinions on whether or not it is worth dressing the kids for pirate night. Are we sure we will actually have pirate night? I thought I heard it was a trial.

Dena - I'm glad you are finally recovering from the effects of the hurricane. I'm new here, but I heard how concerned everyone was about you. Hopefully, those docs are cheering you up.
Teri & Ginger - Surely today will be the day!
I don't know if the rest of you are having this problem, but the minutes just crawled by at work Monday and Tuesday. I hope it's not like that for the next three weeks...
I hope that they will be having the Pirate night, since we are working on costumes for DH and myself, but if not, we will still wear them for Halloween, so all is not lost. But DH chose them for Halloween really because he wants to dress up for Pirate night!
Didn't sleep well last night because I am going to the doctor's for amnio this afternoon. We should get results back about a week before we leave for the cruise. I'm not sure that I like the timing on that, but hopefully all will come out alright. Please keep your fingers crossed for me! (Prayers gratefully accepted, also.)

Jennifer, good luck! I see you are in Columbia. I grew up there, in Owen Brown and lived in Hickory Ridge as well as an adult. My 4 year old was born there, at Howard County General. I loved it there.

Jennifer congrats!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: I'm sending prayers and pixie dust your way. Do you want to know if it's a boy or girl? Excited for you.
MemoryMakers2669, Yes DCL does have their own T-or-T but no where near as good as our. Their version of t-or-t is like, how can I explain this, running of the bulls. Everyone is running from one check point to another gathering around the stops in large crowds or long lines just to get 1 peice of candy or a sticker.
In the years past they have held the little peoples costume parade on Deck 10 in the basket ball court area, it's so windy there with the ship is moving full speed that the kids costumes are blowing everywhere, heck the kids are blowing everywhere. You just can't be that organized with such a large amount of people. That's why we have our own.
Toni, I've learned to ask myself a few questions when I'm buying things for my DD to wear aboard the ship, cause it's very easy to get carried away with all the excitement.
1. How much does it cost? More than $5.
2. How long will she be wearing it on the ship? Maybe 2 hours the most.
3. Will she wear it ever again? No
4. Can she make do with something we have at home. Yes!
Get your kids creative juices flowing on this project, let them make a pirate costume from the stuff they have in their closets or yours.
We took last years jeans, you know the ones with the holes in the knees. Turned them into cut offs, ripped up an old tee shirt, you may even want to tea stain it so it looks old and dirty. Look around, do you have an old dress or shirt even a tee shirt that you can rip up to make a head rag. The dollar store sells eye patches, makeup, tatoos and the stuff you blacken teeth with. Remember Pirates are old, dirty, grubby, stinky, villains. Have fun with it.

Jennifer: what great news and I'm crossing my fingers for you too! I had an amnio done with my DD Elizabeth and I still remember the doctor telling me that it was a perfectly normal fetus and how happy I felt! And now that "fetus" is 10 years old!
Michelle: I know, I must have been so naive to think that a government could get it right the first time! Oh well, glad that project's over and I can concentrate on the cruise! My mom is working on my DD's Halloween costume but I have to get working on my DS's costume. I was glad to read Ginger's comments to Toni re costumes. Makes a lot of sense!
vikingsfan: That sounds like such an interesting job! I guess we know who to call if we need someone to do cpr (hopefully we won't but you never know!) on the cruise.

Thanks Lynda, sometimes I come up with a good idea.
It got chilly here last night, my DH dug up my banana tree so we could pot it in a huge terra cotta pot. We placed it in our dining room. I painted the walls in that room terra cotta and beige, the large green tree looks perfect in there.
Now, the challenge to keep it looking good through the winter months.

I'm sitting here looking at the Disney Halloween gift packages when I noticed the Halloween stateroom decorations which they have priced at $30. Tell me that's not true, I bought some of these things at the dollar store a few weeks ago for $1.00 each. I guess they are charging $27. to place them in your room.
taswira
10-06-2004, 12:33 PM
Ginger: Was what you bought identical to the DCL Halloween stateroom decorations offering? I've been thinking about ordering that, but am hesitating just a bit. It seems odd that all the other stateroom decoration packages DCL has include a cake (with the cute ship on top?) but the Halloween package does not, even though it is the same price. Hmmmm . . .

Shari, I have the 72" Holographic Halloween Banner mine is a different color but basically the same. I didn't get the centerpiece this year because we had one a few years ago and it just got in the way.
I thought their decorations would be Disney, you know Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and other character especially at these prices.
Oh yeah! I see what you mean Stateroom Celebrations come with a cake for $30. Oh!!! and they are Disney characters too.

Huh? I guess you mean it is a good thing to have Main dining if you HAVE kids, right?
This will be my 10th DCL cruise that I have requested and had LATE dining. I would never choose Main. I like not being rushed to get ready for dinner (especially after a day in port), LOVE the somewhat quieter atmosphere (since I have never had kids), plus dining late keeps me from falling prey to the late night dessert trap. :p
Now don't think I don't <I>like</I> kids - - Most of them are so cute to watch and on DCL they have so many of their own areas and activities that the ONLY time they bother me is when I am trying to get closer to the Characters and they are in the way! :jester:
But I always look forward to seeing all the kids in their Halloween costumes. :teeth:

Thanks for all the prayers and pixie dust. We found out that the baby is a boy. Seems to have all the right parts, meaning 2 arms, 2 legs, etc... They want to do another sonogram in a few weeks because it is too early for them to see some of the organ development that they are looking for. Now, we'll just be waiting for those test results...

Jennifer: Gald to hear that your test went well. I remember when I had to go through that for my DD. I just about passed out. She kept reaching for the needle. How far along are you?
Well, I just finished looking at all those docs. Whew!!
I'll have to over them again, since this is our first cruise. Even DH was looking through all the material.
So here's how it happened. I saw him (UPS driver) and I watched as he got out of the truck. See, he was across the street. Then it happened, he started coming across the street. This was it. I just had to ask, "Do you have something from Disney for me?" He said, "Only if you mean from Disney Cruise Line, why yes I do!!" That was it!!!:thewave: They were here, but I had to wait to look them over. Children to take places and such.
Hope everyone has a great evening!!!

Hi Ginger did you not want Main dining? I hope you do't think I am nosy but I am curious of what the benefits of late are. We had late dining last time and I remember thinking we didn't want it again but I really can't remember specifically why. This year we requested Main and got late but are suposedly waitlisted for main. I am debating about trying to change it once on board.
BTW thanks for the comment on the costumes.I do think they will get use out of them but am not sure if I am going to keep them. Thngs are so crazy here now I am not sure I would have time to throw something together but a glad to hear that is what people do. It takes a lot of pressure off.::yes:: ;) I stress and try to make things perfect even though I know they aren't and never will be. I am sure your pirate costumes will look fabulous. I look forward to Hallowen ever year to see all the homemade creative stuff and every year say " next year we will mke our costume" but next year comes and I am back at the store.
Glad to hear many docs came today:Pinkbounc :bounce: KEH Tomorrow is your day for sure!!!

Congrats on all who got docs today.
Shari, we need to sit together at dinner. We share the same feelings about kids. We love em. But love the quiet atmosphere and no rush of the late seating.
Only 20 days left for me....since we are going a couple of days early.
Also only 12 days of work left!! Can't wait to finish this job!! Way to many long hours. 13 hours on Monday, 9 hours on Tuesday, 8 hours today....hey, there's a trend here, maybe I can get down to a couple of hours by friday!!! Yeah Right!

The reason Main is the most requested is because <I>most</I> passengers have children and the family is used to dining early. It's tough for a young child to wait until late evening to have dinner! They can become quite irritable and that can spoil things for them and everyone around them. As much as I avoid Main dining, I <I>always</I> recommend it to anyone with young children. But for the child-free I always recommend Late because it gives them more time after excursions or other day activities and Late dining is a somewhat quieter environment.
<I><B>vikingfans</B></I> - I don't know if your comment that we should sit together for dinner meant you would actually <I>like</I> us to sit together or not, but if you <I>would</I> like to, just e-mail or PM me your last name (I already have your stateroom #) and I will call DCL to try to link our dinner assignments. It IS nice to sit with others who share some of the same opinions. ;)
<B>How I received my docs</B> - When my docs arrived via UPS, the guy left a HUGE box on the front porch along with a little box. When I opened the door, I grabbed the little box first . . cruise docs! :teeth: The big box it sat upon was from <I>Walt Disney Travel Company</I> and was packed with 2005 travel agent materials, but I didn't even open it until the next day. Shari: I agree with you on the late dining. I love being able to take my time eating and not feel rushed. We have only had early seating once in our 6 cruises and I would not do that again. Of course, my feelings may change now that I have a toddler.princess: Although, most of the time when we are at Disney, she naps around 5 or 6 and then wakes an hour or two later and goes back down a10 or 11pm. So we hope her schedule stays similar to that.
Jennifer: I am glad to hear your test went well. I was praying for you. I remeber last September going through the same thing. We got our results back on October 13th, two weeks before we sailed. I didn't really think about the results until that Monday morning of the 13th. Then I was a little nervous, but breathed a big sigh of relief when everything was okay. If I ever had another baby, I would definately have the test done again. Congrats on the boy!!:earsboy:

We have changed our date for MNNSHP from Oct. 17th to Oct.24th. After we spend a day with Karen eating and drinking at Epcot..:drinking1   :grouphug:
We just got the new school calendar with the added 14 missed days. What a bummer for the kids and teachers. The got 1 day taken from thanksgiving break, 3 days taken from Christmas break, 1 day each taken from a 4 day weekend in Jan and Feb, 3 added days at the end of the year and all of our 1/2 day Wednesdays are now full days.

Dena - If you are at MNSSHP the 24th, you may run into my (grown) nephew and I. He plans to either be <I>Phantom of the Opera</I> again, or a <I>Star Wars</I> character. I'm not sure what I will wear since <I>Gadget</I> will not go well with his costume and my "jumpsuit" is not slated to arrive until the 27th.

Michelle, glad to hear you got your docs. So, did you run across the street and get them, or let him come to the door? :teeth:
Karen, hope your docs come today.
Dena, sorry to hear about the school schedule. Bummer.
Toni, so far we've opted out of MNSSHP. But if we change our mind it will be Fri.
Guess we won't see too many of you at dinner. We're on Main. Sammi is one of those kids that gets cranky when she gets tired.
Okay, two questions that I know I could look up, but it's just easier to ask you guys.
My brain is still in the other cruiseline mode, so I need confirmation on these:
1) Is Oceaneer Club open all day or do they take lunch/dinner breaks where we'll have to pick up Sammi midday? And are they open straight through til 1 am, or is there a time at night that they charge for baby sitting service (ie. after 10pm or something)? Not that we'd leave Sammi there unless she wanted to be, but I also don't want to pay for babysitting, when she can enjoy time with us instead.
2) Does DCL have any kind of special on laundry anytime during the week? 2 wks ago, CCL had a special on Thurs. $15 for what you could put in the laundry bag. So we had lots of clean clothes for the rest of the week. Hoping we can do that during this week too.
TIA gang.
Hope everybody has a good day.

Oceaneers is open throughout the day with no closeures for meal times. They do ask that you don't sign inor out during a movie or show. There is never a charge for "babysitting" It is open every night to either 12 or 1 am and is included in the cost of the cruise. We had a hard time gettig our kids out to eat meals.LOL But they can eat with the club if you choose. They will get their own Navigator at the beginning of the crusie that gives you activity schedule for the week.
Not sure about laundry but I don't recall seeing a special on board.

Wow, what a great idea to have a laundry special! I would take that deal in a minute! I'm going to try and do some laundry at the Radisson the night before we sail because those laundryrooms on the Magic seem to fill up pretty quickly!
Jennifer: congrats on having a boy!
Toni: we're doing MNSSHP on Oct 26, the day we fly in. This is our first time to the party so we're really excited about it!
Mike: we're doing main seating too. It is a little rushed after excursions but I like eating first and then going to the shows, etc after that.
Karen: got those docs yet?
Have a great day, everyone!

Lynda, maybe we'll see you. If our rotations are the same.
::yes:: There is a laundry special. However it's not til Friday. But, the way I read it, there was no charge. It was on the last page of the Friday Navigator (http://www.dcltribute.com/navigators/east_carib/daily.htm) , just above the Swimming Pool times. I got it from Dave's site.
Looks like I won't have to pack quite as much now.

After reading the post about the laundry and wondered how I missed the laundry special last year I pulled out the Laundry Service slip the give you on the ship from last year. I think when they mention "at no additional charge" they meant for same day dry clean or press service. Normally they charge an additional 50% if you want your stuff back the same day. I never paid attention to the price of laundry. It seems high to me. Can't imagine what it would cost to get my family of 5's wash done!
Glad to hear everyone has their docs. Anyone have their packing done yet?

The list the price by the piece. For laundry it is $3.00 for shirts, $3.50 for pants, $2.50 for shorts and tshirts, $1.00 for socks, etc. Dry cleaning is about double that. It would really add up. It's not expensive to use their washers I just refuse to do wash while on the ship so I just overpack.

It makes it all seem very real!!! Now I need to finish the planning. Haven't figured out how we are getting to the port yet. There are 7 of us , so we want to get a car service from the airport, rather then Disney transportation. Anyone ever used FL Tours or Southern Elegance? I ruled out Happy Limo because of all the recent bad reviews.

NJFamily, haven't used FLTours, but back in the planning stages, I talked to Andy and he was very polite and helpful. It surprised me when he told me figured out what was cheapest for my family and then call him back when I decided.
Toni, the way I figure it, if I can't get it done onboard and really need clean undies, I'll do wash when we get back to WDW after the cruise. The room won't be ready and we can hang at the pool while we wait.
Just ordered a load of stuff from OT. Diane had everything figured out already. I just sat and nodded and said "yep, sounds good." ::yes:: A quick stop at Sam's Club before we sail and we're set.
Now to hunt up those pirate costumes in the basement. pirate:

Sweetspot, thanks for bringing the point about the laundry to my attention (ie that the regular charges still apply)!!! I kind of wondered how they could do all that laundry for free! Oh well, I guess I'm a member too of the overpackers club! I'll just have to resign myself to doing tons of laundry after we get home while dealing with post-cruise depression as well!
Karen, glad you got your docs! It's funny but they really do make the cruise seem that much more real. Funny what a pile of paper can do!

michelle: Just check to make sure your shoes are all matched sets. I have two sets of similar navy flats I brought to wear to several dinners and brought one of each.. the same foot no less. This year I'm triple checking.
Lists are finished and done on a spread sheet this year so that I can just reprint them next year. I keep adding to it though. The addition of Halloween and Pirate Night as well as the surprises I usually do for the kids have added to the load. I'm determined to be done by the end of the 3 day weekend! We lucked out and don't have a tournament this weekend... three free days! I accosted a poor woman last night at back to school night who was talking to a friend of mine and looked just like you in the picture posted. One more person in township who thinks I'm crazy!
Lynda: My trick for doing laundry after to cruise.. get really sick, spend the day stuck in bed and magically it's done. As horrible as it was last year getting really sick the day after the cruise it was absolutely wonderful to peel myself out of bed the next day to find all the wash done, put away and the house clean. Gotta love my DH and kids. Think they'd fall for it if I fake sickness this year?
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi All:wave:
I've been busy working and getting things done around the house.
My reason for liking main dining is so we can have dinner at Palo on Saturday night. We do go to the regular dinner to meet our servers and table mates. We also make sure Ashley eats before she goes to the kids club, she really looks forward to that. It use to be a problem if we were doing shore excursions but since they opened Topsiders for dinner it's worked out well, infact we love dining there.
Time to go to work, see you al later.:wave2:

We haven't even started packing yet. There is just so much to do around here. Today we tried to dig up and pull out a queen palm tree that had been blown down to a 45 degree angle. What a project that was.:earseek:
Then we had to go matress shopping because our waterbed sprung a leak for the second time.:p We wound up going from a queen size to a king!:Pinkbounc
Yesterday, my DH and BIL had to fix the airconditioning unit in the house because that stopped working the night before.:crazy2:
We still need to fix both gates in our back yard.
And my sister and BIL who have been staying with us all week finally went back home today. It was fun having them here, but always busy!!!

Add me as well to the overpackers club. It is so difficult to plan, as you don't know which rotation you're on, etc. We haven't even decided if we're going to dress for Halloween. I do have an "edge" w/shoes, though, as I found one perfect pair of sandals that will do dressy and casual.
My DS grew so much this past year that most of his nice clothes no longer fit, so I gotta search his closet for the hand-me-downs from my nephew. It's great having relatives w/older boys so I don't have to buy dress clothes for him.
Michelle, my son hasn't heard from yours . . was wondering if he was still interested in "chatting" before the cruise. If there are any other boys traveling who like yu-gi-oh or pokemon gameboy, let me know.

I've been busy myself, get things together for the cruise. Still cleaning the house of all the clutter. I've got baby dolls with no clothes on them everywhere, wondering why the clothes get taken off and never put back on.
I've been doing great on my diet, only 7 more lbs to my goal, till today that is, Ashley and I went to a local farm for some pre-Halloween fun. They have mazes, boo barns, animals, hay rides throught the apple orchard and pumkin patch...etc. and of course food everywhere. Fresh apples with carmel, cider donuts, funnel cakes, hot dog, pit sandwich, fresh bakes goods and more. There was just so manyYUMMY treats, I couldn't take it, I just gave in to it.:( the rest of the evening hasn't been any better. Boy! tomorrow I'll have to workout extra hard and twice longer.
Teri, I've been putting my little bar together, I've got the Guavaberry Liqueur ready to pack along with the cream of coconut and pineapple juice.
You can add my name to the over packers list. Every year I say I'm not going to do that, but it happens.
It's getting late so I'll close for now. You'll have a nice day tomorrow.

Good Morning everyone:
Well today is the day we get out the suitcases and put them in the spare room. This way we can get the shorts and bathing suits in them, and out of the drawers. Heck, I don't think we'll be wearing shorts and bathing suits anymore up here in NJ! LOL:cool:
The kids are off from school and today is a great day to get this done.
Ginger: You're doing great!!! Single digits on that diet!! Bet your cholesterol is coming down too!!! Weekends are always tough, especially when you go to someplace fun. I love the smell of warm donuts. Just smelling them and I gain weight!!
Pat: The boys have been emailing. Kyle wanted to know if your son has an IM name. This way they can chat quicker.
Teri: How is that little one doing? Two yr olds can be alot FUN!! If you know what I mean.
Dena: I guess you will really need this vacation after the summer and fall you've had. Hope things are getting better.
I have to pick up clothes I brought to the seamtress 2 weeks ago. Think we'll just put them in the suitcases too!! I bought new pants for DS 15 and they were too short. Ordered new ones!! Need to get them hemmed. Why can't they be the size clothes come in. I think he grew inthe last 2 months.pirate:
Well, better go to the gym or I may have to get myself new clothes.
Have a great day everyone.

Ginger: congrats from me too re getting so close to your target! I know what you mean about those farm visits! I went with my sister and DD to an apple picking farm yesterday and it was the same thing there! They had the most delicious apple pie and apple crisp! And then it's our Thanksgiving here today so we had the big turkey dinner yesterday at our house just for our family and today, we're going to my mom's for another turkey dinner! It's so hard to go to Curves too when it's a short week!
I'm going to pick up a suitcase from my mom's today too for the trip. We used to use small suitcases for the kids when they were little, but now that they're 12 and 10, we need the full size suitcases! We only have 3 right now, so my mom is lending me hers. I'm trying to gather all my notes from the dis too so that they're all ready to go!
Hope everyone is having a good long weekend (it's Columbus Day in the US, right?)!

Just in for a minute, been sick since Friday, Yuk. We did get our documents and are in cabin 6504, hope the waters are calm, requested mid or aft, not forward. DH gets seasick. Also still at 2nd seating. Still trying to decide if we will stick with it or try and change it when we get on the ship. When I talked to Debbie about the REAS package she seemed to tell me that we are part of a group, and because of the size we would probably not be able to switch to main. I know AAA did this cruise as a group, but I didn't realize that that entire group determines the meal seating we would have. Seems a little strange.
Ginger, Congrats on the weight loss.
I have started putting a couple of things to the side to pack. DDad went and bought us a rolling garment bag because I told him I was looking for one. Got to stop mentioning things we need to him.
Take care all,

DD is a *huge* Pirates of the Caribbean fan, and I told her over the weekend that Tropical Night is now Pirates Night. Well, I just got off the phone with her, and she said she went to the store and bought elaborate pirate outfits for her and our son-in-law, plus the two grandkids.
So I told DW what they're planning, and she said she always wanted to be a wench (insert joke here :)), so now she's off to buy a costume, too! That leaves me, so I guess I'm next.

Fairygodmother,
I know my dad got this garment bag on "a really good sale at Macy's", (his words) but it isn't real big. I just wanted one that can be pulled on wheels. I figure I will get what I get in there, and put the rest in regular bags. Even though it only has 4 notches, I'm sure I can get at least 8 hangers in there. Probably defeat the purpose, but we will see. I am also bringing the Downey wrinkle releaser, and if worst comes to worse, may send a couple things out to be pressed. I have the bags most of the dresses came in, and DH's suit (is it mean for me to only bring one of his suits?) is still in the bag from the cleaners.
For Pirate night, I went to the costume store and got 2 eye patch/hoop earings kits for $1.99 each for the kids, and called it a day. Had already bought the kids disney tropical wear.

I just got back from Big Lots, they have most of their Halloween stuff 30% off. I stocked up on decorations for next year, our plans are to stay home and have a big party. They had table center peices, banners and hanging mobiles for 69 cents. Not exactly like the ones Disney is offering for $30. but close enough for me. I got window clings for our large stateroom window and inflatable pumkins to hang on our Fish letter holders. Plus I made magnets for our door.
I'm going to dress up like a witch, yes myself, for our t-or-t, Ashley is going to be one of the princesses.
My dining room table is cover with stuff to be packed, more than we need I'm sure. I've been thinking about bagging the pirate costume idea, we each have 2 costumes to pack already without that one. I do have eye patches and I understand that Disney is giving out head scarfs.
Donna, glad your feeling better. Ashley will be emailing Erin tomorrow. My DH only brings 1 suit and it does stay on long. The jackets comes off as soon as he gets to the table then the tie a few minutes later.
We just aren't dress up folks, I live in shorts, tees & flip flops all summer and jeans, sweat shirts and tennis shoes or snow boots all winter.
Teri, you can bring ice.
Is my family the only ones arriving to the Radisson on Thursday?
We decided to do the airboat ride when we get off the ship, so DH can do it with us. Can't check in to our place at Old Key West till 4 anyway. We'll be hoping around doing WDW on Sunday I guess.
BTW, I've been real good keeping this part of our trip a secret from Ashley.
Well off to bed early tonight, lots to do tomorrow.:wave2:

Ginger: Thank heavens there will be someone else not dressed up! But I did notice that you included "shorts" in your description. I hoped you learned from my earlier mistake. It is just too hard for me to worry about a costume because by the time I get my kiddies in their outfits--I'm a sweaty mess. They never hold still, and I predict that one of them will change their mind about their costume once we're on the boat.
I'm thinking that I'll probably be able to come up with something for pirate night, they're pretty casual folks, aren't they? Will it matter if my drawn on whiskers are smudged with perspiration?

Michelle- the little one (Matthew) is doing great. He slept all night until 6:00 this morning. I normally sleep till 9:00 but hey its only till Friday.WE watched Finding Nemo off and on 2 times all the way through. It is his favorite.:D
Ginger- I will be more than happy to bring the ice. Is 4:30 by the pool the decided time?
I tested out Rick's new digital underwater camera in our pool this weekend, it works great. My pool goes to 8 ft but the camera is good for underwater to 30ft. The pool is a burrr 74 degrees. We are going to Coral World in St. Thomas and Rick is doing the underwater helmet trekking.
I guess I will start packing next week. I have been getting things together. I need to print out my final notes from the computer and fill out my cruise forms. I have my door sign printed and
ready to hang.:teeth:

Morning everyone,
Well, I got together my bags for T or T and now I'm worried. See, I bought halloween bubbles for the kids, and now I'm wondering if they will spill when we fly. Back to the drawing board.
Teri: Gald your little one slept till 6. My DD used to watch the same movie for days on end. Then sing all the songs. Kids are funny!!! How did you test the underwater camera in 74 degrees water? Did you get in? Too cold for me!!:hyper:
Ginger: I'm glad you posted about the head scarfs. I was going to buy some, now I won't. Just wear black, the head scarf and I'm done. As for T or T, I'm wearing my bowa, and calling it a day.
I think I need a suitcase for all the Halloween stuff my DS is bringing. That will be funny when scanned. A suitcase full of Halloween junk. This is his favorite holiday!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
All the suitcases are in the spare bedroom and we have started taking clothes out of the drawers and put them into that room. Soon I won't be able to walk in there.
Well, better go. Off to work today.

Teri, I think your right about the 4:30 met, I'll only be able to stay for that a few minutes. I'll have to pick up my DH at Grills by 5, that's when his fishing excursion boat is due back in. Darn, you must have froze your butt off testing that camera, BURRRR is right.
Robyn, theme nights are very casual.
Michelle, I'm wearing my bowa, and calling it a day.,
another nudie cutie among us. My DH is going to love this cruise.:jumping1:
Your bubbles didn't come with a foil seal?
I ordered bubbles from OT to hand out to the DIS kids that we meet on Saturday. I thought they could blow them as the ship sails from port.
I hope the ship has there T-or-T on Sunday also, in the past they have placed plastic T-or-T bags in the staterooms for each child staying in that room.
Make sure you all make a copy of the T-or-T list before you leave home. I've added the final location of each group, don't want any of our Group Leaders going home with real live souvenirs.
Well off to work-out then to Costco for a few last minute things, then I've got to pick-up my little darling after school to take her to get a good hair trimming. Boy, it never ends, does it.

We have never been on a Halloween crusie and have a few questions about the costumes. My DHis about to melt down with all the costumes. He is wondering how we are going to get them on the plane. I have been sewing forever now making theses costumes and I say they are going. How dressed up do people get? I was not planning on dressing up, as I am tired of sewing. Are there a lot of people who do not dress up?
Please , someone give me some advice. I do not know what to expect. We have children and adults. Do they do the adults by themselves. Can adults dress up with children (kinda a theme)?
Help...anyone who has done this cruise before
taswira
10-12-2004, 02:32 PM
You are not <I>obligated</I> to dress in costume at all, if you would rather not. Some people go all out for the Halloween activities. Others do nothing.
You can dress as a "group," but children have a separate costume contest from the adults. Just a note: For those who want to compete in the adult costume contest, <I>sometimes</I> they make you get out on the dance floor and dance in order to have your costume judged! That was my experience on the Wonder. I'm hoping it won't be the case on the Magic (Ginger - Do you or anyone else here know about that?). I've cruised on the Magic but not at Halloween.
It isn't that I refuse to dance - I just don't like sweating and particularly when in costume!
As for dressing for the other themed events, that too is entirely voluntary. To be honest, only die-hard Disney cruisers are likely to do so. You can enjoy the festivities in the dining room and the deck parties without dressing to the theme, if you prefer.
"Ginger"
10-12-2004, 05:13 PM
faireygod mother, this will be our 4th Halloween cruise on the Magic and our 7th cruise in all with Disney.
Shari, is correct, you don't have to get dressed up.
But, since you've sewed your little heart out there, I'm with you. Come Hell or High Waters those costumes would be going. Put that looped skirt in a bag and carry it on that plane.
Now about the costume contest. During the day when the ship is having their T-or-T for the kids they have a contest for the little one. I don't think it's much but it's something for them. Then that night they have one for the adults or it's suppose to be for the adults. It always ends up being a family thing and usually a DARN Chimney Sweep theme family wins it. My DD says that if they win it again this year then next we're going as brooms to beat their butts. Gheez, I hope you aren't going as chimney sweeps.:teeth:
Shari, I'm not sure about dancing, never saw that happen on the Magic. The contest is held on Deck 3 and 4 Midship in the lobby. They have the contestant come down the staircase outside of Lumiere's.
BTW, the Navigator may say that the contest is for adults but, like I said above it doesn't happen that way. Also this contest doesn't usually get started till 10:15 p.m..
Now Shari, I've seen some pretty wild things happen at Bingo. I've seen the CM's get people to dance, moo like a cow, acted like other animals, stand on their chairsand sing. The laughs just go on and on at Bingo.
taswira
10-12-2004, 06:06 PM
Glad to hear that, Ginger! :teeth:
On the Wonder, if you were not on the dance floor, you were not judged. You didn't HAVE to dance, but if one just stood there surrounded by all those who <I>were</I> dancing (because the music was loud and a fast beat) then one looked rather idiotic.
I don't think any kids were judged with the adults on the Wonder in the adult costume contest. I think they had a family or group contest just before that. Not entirely sure.
However, on both ships I imagine the "agenda" is up to whomever happens to be the Cruise Director on that sailing. So we shall see . . .
<I><font color="red">No sweating in costumes . . no sweating in costumes . .</font></I>

Jimbo- I just checked DCL website and they still have openings in Cat 4, 5, 6, 8, and 11. So your relatives could check about an upgrade.
Starting to pack the non-essentials. Got all the treat bags packed and ready to go. CD's are labeled, put in plastic containers and bubbled wrapped to make sure noone breaks them. We have our TorT bags just about ready to go now. And I have Emily's extras, diapers, formula, medicine etc. packed and ready. She had decided she no longer wants jar baby food for lunch and dinner. She would much rather eat whatever we are eating. So at least I dont have to pack too much baby food.
I also got my DD and DS dinner clothes washed and ready to be packed. Unfortunately, when I was trying on some of my clothes, they were a little tight, so I got depressed and baked chocolate chip cookies.:guilty: I can't seem to get off the last 5 lbs of pregnancy weight.

Jimbo what Cat. are they in now.
Two years ago we had booked a SPR which is a Cat. 10 we wanted to upgrade to a Cat 4 which they had available. To go from the 10 would have cost us over $1100. needless to say we declined. But we were traveling with friends who were in a Cat. 9 and they did upgrade to a 4 and it only cost them $375.
These prices were from 2 years ago not sure if they'll be the same this year.

They're in an 11 right now. I doubt that they'd want to pay $1100 to upgrade to a 4, so I think the 11 is where they'll stay. That's OK, though, it keeps them right across the hall from us, which is nice. They have never cruised before, so I'm sure they will be happy with whatever they get, and they will probably rarely be in their room anyway. Actually, they're probably going to be in ours!
So how excited is everyone? Jimbo's group is very excited! What's neat is that we've been talking about the cruise so much that all of us had pretty much forgotten that we're spending three days after at Boardwak Villas, too. So we get to ease back into reality.

Melissa, I can only tell you what has happened in the past 3 years.
No there is no table to table t-or-t'ing.
There are T-or-T stations around the ship in the afternoon.
The night before Halloween the stateroom host placed a plastic T-or-T bag in our stateroom with a card telling us what time their T-or-T would be held and also where the T-or-T stations would be placed.
Sunday and Thursday are the formal and semi-formal nights, theres not to much differences in these two night as far as dressing up goes.
I don't think they will make any changes since they haven't in the past. These two nights are great money making nights for the ships photo shop, Shutters, their not going to take one away just because it's halloween. If anything they are going to try to make double by get the formal shot and then the costume shot later in in the evening.
I checked availablity today on the Cat. 4's and it's still showing 8 stateroom, now that is the limit for them to show online. Also 8 Cat. 5's and 1 Cat. 6 available, that's as far as I went with it. They still had 8's and 11's.
I do know that if you have any thoughts of upgrading at the port having a Cat 9 or better is cheaper than 10, 11, or 12. I have no idea how they determine the upgrade rates, wish I did.
Jimbo, if they want to find out on their own tell them that they would need to see the CM at the last check-in counter. If she doesn't have a long line it only takes a minute to check for upgrade availablities and the rate.
Dena does Emily have any teeth? Can't wait to see her. If I can get off 7 you surely can get off 5. You can do it, You can do it.:jumping2: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cheer2:

but we have to talk about a few things.
As you all know I have had the T-or-T list posted for everyone to view. I posted that the list was complete. I waited a week after I posted the final list to see if there was going to be any changes, got none.
My husband and I spent 2 days working on organizing the groups placing people together that I thought would have some common interest, tring to keep the same age groups together.
Then we worked on sending those group around the ship. We knew that we would have to start each group on a different deck. That meant we would have to put together 5 different maps. We arranged each deck so that the first stateroom on that deck would be close to an elevator lobby and that the last stateroom would end close to the next elevator lobby to bring the group up or down, close to the next decks beginning stateroom.
Then I printed out the maps and we wrote on each decks map the stateroom numbers and drew the route to follow for that deck.
After we finished we rolled up the maps, 6 pages per map and I sealed each one. They are now packed away waiting to go.
So why am I telling you all this, NOT FOR PRAISE.
But, to say that I can not make any stateroom changes to the maps now.
If for some reason you are not going to be in the stateroom that you have provided to me PLEASE, let me know when we are in the lobby before I hand off the maps to the Guides. Your old stateroom number will be deleted from the map then. I will not be able to add your new stateroom since it may change the directions of all the maps. You can bring your treats to the lobby to be handed out.
I know our lobby time is going to be total chaos, having experienced it in the past. Also keeping in mind the large amount of people we will have gathering together plus the on lookers who will want to know what's going on and why they didn't see this posted in the Navigator. They will try to put their kids in a group.
So I am asking that everyone be on time or be left behind. I have only figured in 15 minutes in the lobby. We will need that time to get all the children in their groups and out of the lobby. So please if you are taking pictures do it quickly or take them before or afterwards.
Maybe we can ask Judi to set something up for an earlier photo time in another location. The Promenade Lounge is just down the hall from the lobby and very quiet that time of day. And Judi they have a place for you to plug in.
I hope everyone understands that I'm not trying to dictate to you but to make a fun organized event for our kids to enjoy.
Thanks, Ginger

Hey Ginger I know you are not looking or praise BUT Thank you so much for doing this.
We really appreciate it.I know my kids would be upset if they saw other children trick or treating and they weren't allowed. What happens if others try to tag along. Is anyone briging extra treats or will the group members be in charge of making sure it is just their group with thm. I will be staying with my children in group 5 soif Lynda needs any hlp I'll be there too.
Thanks again.

Hi there!
Toni: that would be great if you joined us on the TorTing! I'm sure we'd appreciate the help! With all the excitement, it's bound to be a little crazy!
Ginger: Believe me, we really appeciate all you have done with the TorTing! It's unbelievable that you and your DH would go to so much trouble just to ensure that the kids have a great time! Thank you so much, we are all going to have so much fun! And you're absolutely right, if it's organized, it will go so much more smoothly and be so much better for the kids and adults. Thanks again, Ginger, you and your DH are awesome! Ever think of going into "event planning"? Sounds like you would make a fortune at it!
Re the "non-Dis" kids who try to join in, I guess we'll just have to be firm and polite and tell them it's a private event. I hate to do that with kids but we really have no choice. Otherwise, the "DIS kids" will lose out. I am bringing a few extra treat bags but that's just to be safe.
Dena: how sweet that Emily has 2 teeth! And hope you're enjoying the wine and liqueurs that your parents brought back from Italy! Hope they had a nice trip!
Karen: hope you're feeling better! Everyone here has colds and sniffles too so I've been praying that I won't catch anything before the trip! Better load up on Vit C just to make sure!
Teri: glad to hear that Matthew had such a great time at Chuckie Cheese's! I get a headache there but I know my kids always enjoyed it!
Michelle: hope things are better at work! Boy, things seem to be hopping in your store! But as I mentioned to you before, it won't be too long before you're sipping a tropical drink with an umbrella in it on Deck 9 by the pool!
Dena: 5 pounds isn't much and with a new baby, hurricanes, looking after all those kids, etc, I think you've done a great job losing as much as you have! I've had a hard time motivating myself to get to the gym too lately because it's been so busy, but again, I keep reminding myself about the cruise! I went to the gym yesterday on my way home from work so I wouldn't have any excuse not to go. Once I'm home, it's so much harder to pull myself out of the house and drive over to Curves. I don't know what I'm going to do when the cruise is over re motivation!
I wish too that we knew about Formal Night! I keep changing my mind as to what to wear that night, and then I start questioning my other choices re dinner wear. Then of course, when I do that, my shoe list gets longer! Aaaargh!!!! Trying to keep the shoes to a minimum so the suitcase isn't so heavy but they just seem to have a way of multiplying!
Well, better get back to work! Have a great day, everyone!

It's not dictatorship Ginger, it's leadership.
I don't think any of us are going to have a problem with anything you tell us we need to do to be sure our kids have a good time.
As the old saying goes, 'If you want something done your way, do it yourself. Otherwise deal with it.' ::yes:: Well, something like that anyway.
Diane or myself will probably stay with Sammi too. So if you and Bill need help, one of us will be there.
Toni, I agree with Lynda. It's one of those times where you just have to say, "I'm sorry, this is not a Disney function and is available only to our groups children." And then of course smile. :teeth:
Or we could just say no and stick our thumb on our nose and wiggle our fingers while sticking out our tongue. But that might be a little childish. (jk)
Karen, hope you get to feeling better. Nothing like trying to get ready for a trip when you're having an Eeyore kind of day.
Re: Formal night - no problem. Just more to over-pack!! :scared1: :faint:

Ginger,
Just to clarify are the group leaders cabins on the T or T list? We were planning on bringing our treats to the lobby and passing them out there. If we are however already on the map then one of us will stay in the room to hand out treats. Just let me know either way.
Had an idea last night while going through some our old Disney stuff and came across a couple of Mickey hand auction paddles from one of the Pin Celebration auctions. What if each group were to have a paddle/sign printed with something like:
DIS TorT
Group 1
Private Event
We could have two of these for each group, one at the front and one at the back. Let me know what you think.

Okay I realize that I am a outsider, but I was wondering if any of you are planning a meet on the ship. I see some are staying at the same hotel. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Select near the airport. I did not see anyone staying there.
It would be nice to put faces with some of these great ideas.
Speaking of which, I could use some help on the spa. My DIL's birthday will be celebrated on the ship. I thought I would surprise her and decorate her room. I thought I would also do something for her at the spa. I just do not know what to do. Now let me tell you that I am also hoping she and my son will bring home a souviner from the cruise. I looked at the spa sampler and am not sure what all that entails. I just want to do something special for her as she means so much to me. She is easy to please.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated from some of you veterns.
Thanks and look forward to seeing some of you on the ship.:wave2:

GINGER: What can we all say to you except THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! I remember after last year you did not want to be in charge of TorTing again, but here you are putting your energy into it. So again I say thank you for that!!:teeth:
MICHELLE: Emily is 7 and 1/2 months old, but she thinks she is 2 years old!:cutie: My parents were in Italy for 10 days. They visited Mt. Etna, Polamo(sp?) and the town where my Grandparents were born, but I dont know the name of it. The pictures they brought home were beautiful! We have not opened the wine yet, but we did have some lemon flavored liquer that was delicious!!
DVCBOB: I think the signs would be a great idea!! I will also be staying with our group (2), so I can help our Karen and Emma.
KAREN: Get some rest and feel better. I too am fighting a cold and pray that no one, expecially Emily gets it.
Have a great day everyone.

Thanks to all for understanding.
Judi has emailed me and thinks the photo idea in a different location is good. Look for her to posting more details.
Bob, I did eliminate the staterooms of the Group Leaders.
Oh!!!! thank you Bob, I love the idea of the paddles. You and Debbie are so creative.
Last year we had to say... Sorry, but this is a private event, alot. And we still had one tag along.
Not to worry I'll have extra loose pieces of candy to give to non-Dis children who happen by us.
When you check-in please make sure that your childs hand has been stamped by a group leader or if you are having pictures taking with Judi she will be able to check you in and stamp your childs hand. We'll be able to identify who is and who isn't part of the group.

Ginger,
We would also like to say THANK YOU! It takes a lot of planning and time to pull off what you've done. We really appreciate it! My children really get a kick out of saying, "We're going trick-or-treating on the boat!"
My three are part of group 5, along with our neighbors, ShannonBri (two children). Not sure if they will go without us or if they will have a parent tagging along. Since the oldest is 12 in each faimily, we'll probably stay in the room and let the group leader (Lynda Silk - thanks::yes:: ) escort our children. This way we both get to see all those happy and scary t-or-t children come to our cabin!
Hard to believe it's just two weeks until we fly down for this Magical vacation. It's been 16 months since we booked this cruise. The excitement level has built to the point of feeling numb.
Looking foward to seeing the "faces" behind all these screen names. Thanks again Ginger!

FaireyGodmother we don't see you as an outsider at all. Please feel free to ask us anything.
Some of us were going to meet up on Deck 10 all the way up front after the safety drill. It's good place to watch the ship pull away from the port and look for dolphins. I'm bringing the bubbles.
I'll be wearing a lime green ribbon on my shirt.
Did you know that you can send your DiL a ship board gift credit. She can use it for any spa treatment or purchases on the ship. Look on the first page of your Disney Cruise Line Gift booklet, it came with your docs.
Folks, I'm out of here for the day.:space:

One last thing,
of course parents are welcomed to come along with the groups, just don't get in the way of the candy grabbing.
Oh! have the kids start practicing saying Trick or Treat so someone can hear them. Tell them that we will be allowed to use our outside voices to say that when we get to the doors.
Hey, Faireygodmother, you are most certainly not an outsider. We will definitely be at the meet for sailaway and I'm looking forward to meetin you there.

DVCBob: I was thinking along the same lines as you re the paddles, although I was thinking about just having a simple sign. But the paddles would be great and so much better than a sign! Thanks for thinking up such a great idea!
Faireygod Mother: some of us are also getting together for High Tea on the Monday too at Palo's. Just make your reservation when you get on the ship and tell them you're part of "The Dis Group". It would be great if you could join us then too! We're staying at the Radisson the night before so I'll have to wait until the "meet" on the ship at 4:30 on Deck 10 to meet you!
Scott: no problem re escorting your kids around! I'm looking forward to meeting them! I'll be wearing a clown outfit and I'm Japanese, so it shouldn't be hard to spot me! And of course, if we get those paddles, it will be even simpler to see me! It should be a blast; I think I'm just as excited as the kids!
Thanks to all of you who have worked so hard to make this a fun time for the kids!

Since there was a positive response to the group signs I went ahead and made one up. Each sign will say "DIS TorT #x" in lime green then below that "Private Event" in black and then each group will have it's own unique Disney Halloween Character. If you would like to see what I have put together so far just email me at jkdbdray@aol.com and I will send it to you.

Bob, great idea! Can't wait to see them.
Ginger, Sammi for sure won't have a problem with stating why she's at someone's cabin .....
>Funny story for everyone. Sammi and her friend Olivia were out playing last week, and suddenly my door bell rings. Well, it's the girls and when I opened the door they yelled 'Trick or Treat'. I, at first, thought they were just being silly with me. Then I noticed they were holding candy. When I told them Halloween wasn't for a few weeks and asked where they had gotten the candy, they told me they were practicing Trick or Treating. They had already gone to three other house in our culdesac "practicing".
Hope everyone has a good evening and a nice weekend.

That is so funny. When my mom was little her and her brother went out on Nov 1 trick or treating and told everyone they were sick so they missed Halloween. People were more than happy t give them ALL their left over candy. Every year my kids ask if they can try it.

After discussing this with Ginger, I have decided that we will be taking pictures in the Promenade Lounge. We will start at 10:00 am so that we can be done by 10:45 and then go as a group to the Atrium. Ginger is going to be giving me a list of everyone so you can check in with me and get your hand stamped before we take pictures. Then you won't have to check in again in the Lobby. I am going to be doing group pictures and well as singles. If you have a couple of kids in a group that would like a group picture just ask, we will do our best. Feel free to bring your camera's with you and if you have a digital camera and you want to add them to the groups make sure you bring your cable. I am going to download all the pictures on my laptop and then burn them into cd's.
If you would like to buy one just let me know when you check in and we will get one to you. This way you can take the cd home and print the pictures of your choice at your whim. The cd's will be $5.00 a piece. If you want additional ones I can work out a deal. If this seems to expensive let me know, I just want to cover my expenses.
I have decided to do this before T & T since the kids will end up at different areas of the ship and I am sure the little ones will tired from all the knocking on the doors.::yes:: I know that this is going to be a Character breakfast morning(hopefully not ours) so if you are running a little behind we understand. I will be glad to meet anyone afterward and get your child's picture to add. Also I will be in room 7574 if you decide later in the cruise that you would like a cd and didn't order one, just give me a holler!!!! I will have a sample of a cd with me on Saturday and I will try to bring it to the Dis meet at 4:30 after the fire drill.
If you have any questions just ask!
Wow!! Been away from the computer for 1 day and it takes me 15 min to catch up.
Good Morning everyone:
Ginger: You are a great organizer!!!:smooth: I also agree with Lynda and think you missed your calling. Maybe it's time for a career change. Event planner!!! Thank You so much from me and the children. Thanks to good folks like you and your DH all of our children will have a great time.
Judi: I just want to Thank you also for thinking of all of us concerning the pictures. Again, it's hard getting things together and every little bit helps all of us.
To all the Group Leaders: A big Thank You!!! I have no worries since I feel I know all of you from the boards and know you only want whats best for the kids!!
Dena: your DD is at tha age I just love. Everything is a surprise for them and their personality is coming out. How is she around strangers? My DD 11 love little ones too. Of course at her age she sometimes thinks their like dolls.
On the Halloween T or T thing. My kids have done the T or T thing in the summer. Get this, neighbors have actually given them things in the summer!!! You know, you clean out the attic, the kids see the coutumes , put them on for fun and get in their heads to go around and T or T. I wonder why they have change and candy and then they tell me what they did. Now I'm embarassed!!:o What is a mother to do!!!
My DD went to the school dance last night and pulled something in her leg. Now for anyone else it would be rest, but she dances 5 days a week and this will really set her back. I have to take her to the doc or at least call. She is having trouble walking and I worried. I hope it's just a pull of some kind and nothing more.
Better get off and give the doc a call,
Have a great day everyone!!

Wow - somehow it's been over a week since I posted - I have a lot to catch up on here!
Ginger - Thank You for all your hard work in organizing the t-or-t. I know that sometimes it seems like a thankless job, but it is greatly appreciated. I know that it will be a great event! My husband is planning to go along with the kids (group 3) while I stay in the stateroom to hand out treats.
Bob - I think that paddles are an excellent idea!
Judi - Thanks for doing the pictures - sounds like you have this really well organized, too.
I'll be back soon to catch up on what I've missed.
Jennifer
Okay, so here is what I did today. I put together all the Halloween bags. Then I stood back and looked at them and said, "How the heck am I going to get these on the ship?"
I pack them all in a box and put the box into a suitcase!!! Good ness, I do hope no one steals them at the airport!!::yes:: I don't mean to think ill of people but you never know. So now I have 1 bag packed and all it has in it is Halloween bags!!! Too funny!!:hyper:
I better start on the clothes now.
Oh, My DD has just a very strained muscle. She's off it for about a week. She is a little upset, she thinks it won't get better by the cruise. I told her with rest she will be okay.
Later,

I guess I am the odd one out here. I am <I>not</I> making up individual Halloween treat bags. I am <I>hoping</I> all the kids will carry their own big enough treat bag into which goodies can be placed. I will give out individually wrapped candy and probably some Disney stickers or something similar.
I am VERY into Halloween and love to see all the kids (and adults) in their costumes, but I simply do not have the space (since I limit my baggage) to pack special treat bags for 58 kids!
I figure that between all the participating DIS staterooms plus DCL's T-or-T, the kids will be fine without me preparing and lugging along separate bags for them. But kudos to those who do! :smooth:
Shari: I guess since this is our first cruise I went a bit NUTS!!! Then again, my family knows I'm nuts!!! :hyper:

No - It isn't just <I>you</I>! I think several people here have mentioned doing "<I>the treat bags</I>." I think it's great! I just feel like I am not living up to expectations by not doing the same. :jester:
No worries! The kids will enjoy it all!

Shari: Dont worry about not making up treat bags. I am know the kids dont care how their goodies come packaged.:p
Judi: The pictures idea sounds great, I hope our character breakfast is not on that day either.:(
Michelle: I hope your DD gets lots of rest and heals soon. And yes, Emily is at a very fun age. She is quite a character. And she really has a great personallity and loves to laugh. So far she is okay with strangers. Every once in a while she realizes that she doesnt know someone, and will turn away from them, but no crying at them yet.
Well everyone, have a great evening.

Shari, there's nothing wrong with the way you are planning on handing out your treats. My DD has a bag and if that gets to full we have pillow cases. That's what we used when I was a kid, Yeah! I know that was back when the dinos walked this earth. Hey! Anybody got any Snickers or Peanut Chews :hyper:
Michelle, I hope your DD feels better for the cruise.
Ashley took a fall earlier this week and hurt her arm, thank goodness she didn't break it. She over it already.
Dena, do you think Emily will let me hold her?? I love babies, sometimes I really miss doing daycare. Then my DH brings me back to reality by saying REFLUX and EAR INFECTIONS. Every baby I had in my care had one or both. My state inspector started recommending me because I had so much experience caring for infants with these to problems.
About changing my career, I've done that too many times in my life already.
Thanks everyone, but no thanks are needed here. We all did it together.
I'm going to start packing tomorrow, the next 2 Sundays will be my only off days till we leave for Fla.

Can't you see all of us hitting our stateroom host up that morning for an extra pillow case.:teeth: With 30 staterooms plus what ever they get in the lobby and don't forget DCL race around the ship. Oh my gosh! our childs are going to be so hyper for months to come.:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
Hey! Radisson stayers, just how long is the by the pool party going to last? The reason I ask is I purchased a new blender to take with me on the cruise but this one is only a 1 cuper, great compact size. I was wondering if I should throw the big one in the truck for us to use at the Rad, it's really no problem. Everyone could bring a little bit of hooch(booze) to throw in.
I know Teri and her DH are going to Grills for dinner, but what is everyone else going.
I know that my Ashley would rather play in the pool than eat, so I was thinking about staying at the Rad and ordering out. Something like appetizers and pizza from the restaurants next door.

Hi Rochelle, how's the family? Growing I bet. I wish you where cruising with us.
Did you see there is a thread started for your 2005 Halloween Cruise. They're looking for experienced DCL Trick-or-Treaters. I'm sure Dena will find you at MNSSHP she found us 2 years ago, she's amazing. Have a great time.
Yes, Michelle I remember them, but I haven't seen them lately. If I do run across them I'll bring you some.
Off to workout this morning. I can't get that darn scale to move.
Rochelle, we will be at MNSSHP on the 26th. Emma will be dressed as Minnie & I will be a pirate. What do we need to look out for so we might be able to spot you?

If anyone could bring back a navigator for the 8 -9 year olds lab I would really appreciate it. It will help in planning our Halloween 2005 cruise. I hope you all have a fantastic trip ! I wish we were going this year , you sound like a very fun group !

We just came back from clothes shopping, and picked up a few things needed for the cruise.
Ginger: I am sure Emily will let you hold her.princess: I know what you mean about loving babies:love:
As far as dinner the night before the cruise, I think we will probably do what Ginger is going to do and just order something, or maybe even get mcdonalds.
Rochelle: Hey girl! Sorry your not going to be there with us this year. I am not sure if we are going to cruise next halloween or not yet. We will be a MNNSHP on the 24th.
Have a great evening everyone.

Luckey, I'll try to remember that for you. I'll send you a PM for your mailing address.
I've got my clothes picked out today. Next Sunday I'll try them on one more time, to see what goes and what stays.
I'm going to have go shopping for formal wear sometime this week. When I got my outfit out of the storage bag it had stain spots all over the front of it, I wanted to cry. Don't remember getting anything on it.
Everyone have a great week, don't think I'll have much time to get on here.:wave2:

Well add me too the overachievers club, I also did treat bags. I have one suitcase filled with Halloween things and also some decorations for my sisters cabin for after the wedding.
Michelle- I am glad it wasn't too serious with your daughter.
Dena- I ahad a laugh when you said Emily doesn't cry with strangers yet. My best friends daughter came out of the womb being anti social (as we tease her) she just started letting me hold her and shes 5!!!
Ginger- thanks again for all the effort you put into the T & T. Where did you find the small blender that seems right up my alley for the cruise.
Judy- Thanks for doing the pics count me in for one of those CD's.
Bob- Great idea with the paddles.
Michelle- I started packing too, I asked my DH if he needed my help to which he proclaimed for what we still have 2 weeks left.!!!
Karen- I jealous I want my countdown to say 4 days too:(
Sandy- Welcome, sorry I can't help your DH we are driving down from New Orleans on Friday after the kids are out of school and staying in Orlando.
Well better run I have work in the morning and only 7 shifts left til vacation.

Hey Ginger, you sure you didn't plant those staines as an excuse for new clothes? I've been shopping and bought so many new clothes I can't decide what to bring. Actually, it's all so very confusing... don't really know what to pack, what with formal night changing or NOT? Wish those bozos would just let us know so we can figure it all out. I really like to plan things out but it's really hard this way. Happy shopping!
Hope everyone gets over their colds before it's time to cruise. I was sick for almost a week and DS was home last Thursday and Friday. We're both 99% done with it; now am waiting for DH to come down with the sniffles. I told him to get sick now, cause I'm not cruising with any germs - LOL!

Howdy everyone. Hope all had a good weekend. Sounds like everyone has been busy getting things together.
Quick FYI - Diane (DW) ordered the 11X17 Halloween treat bags from OT. So that will atleast be a help, hopefully, when we do our T&T. I think Ginger's pillowcase idea will work out great. Anybody bringing MaryJane candies?
Michelle, I saw your thread about ID's and it sparked a question. On St.Maarten, if we decide to travel to the French side on our own, we will need our ID's and birth certicates, right? Still haven't decided exactly what we're going to do yet.
Had planned on starting to pack this past weekend, but ended up taking Sammi to see the Care Bears at Toys R Us, which blossomed into trekking across town to a different TRU for early Christmas presents that were on sale, lunch at a sit-down diner and a stop at another local toy store. Yesterday we slept-in (9:30 I think) and by the time we got out of church, grabbed lunch and stopped at the store for chili ingredients, it was late. But I guess everything works out, it's rainy and bleh here today, so I'll have plenty of time to get things together. Wish me luck.
Have good day everyone! See you soon!

Hi everyone!
I've done up treat bags for the TorTing but I have to admit it was entirely selfish! I just thought it would be easier to pack if the treats were in bags then if I just packed loose candies. Also, there's no last minute organizing; everything's all set up and all I have to do is bring out the treat bags that morning. I was kind of taken aback by how much space the treat bags take up but I figure it leaves me room for those souvenirs on the way home!
Bob: Thanks for doing up the paddles! They sound great!
Judi: Thanks for arranging the photos and the cds! It'll be the best souvenir from the cruise!
Michelle: hope your DD is doing all right! She'll probably be fine by the time the cruise rolls around but I know how hard it is to wait in the meantime, especially if you're a dancer! I used to be a baton twirling coach (before kids!) and had to deal with my fair share of muscle pulls!
Re the Radisson meet, we're going to the Kennedy Space Centre that day and I'm hoping that we'll be at the hotel by 4:30pm. I hate to admit it but we're probably going to go to McDonald's for dinner! It'll be a treat for the kids and we'll be enjoying "nice" meals on the cruise, plus it's convenient and cheap! I don't drink, Ginger, so you don't have to worry about me re the blender! I'll bring my own pop!
Karen: we're going to MNSSHP on the 26th too! I'll look out for Minnie and the pirate! Hope your cold is better!
Pat: glad you're feeling better! I've told my kids the same thing; no one is allowed to get sick now!
Have a great day, everyone! Lynda

We are in the process of finishing up the paddle signs. Each group will have two single sided signs. We made two for each group so that the adult leading the group and the adult at the back could each have one. The signs will be white mickey icons (three circles) with "Dis TorT" on the left ear, group # on the right ear and a Disney character or characters dressed for Halloween and "Private Event" on the large circle.
The assembly line was running yesterday filling treat bags. One small suitcase will be filled with nothing but candy. Hope it is not overweight. Only 10 days left for us as we will be going down early for a night at OKW and then a night at Hard Rock.
Wow, we are all in the same boat. We all have a suitcase that we have to fill with souvenirs!!!:hyper:
DD is much better. I think she pulled her hip flexer. She is still walking very gingerly though. Thanks to all for the kind words.:wave2:
DVCBob: It's a great idea you had with the paddles. I can't wait to see them.
Lynda: I can't believe it. I used to twirl in high school!!! How funny? You can ask DRM when she gets on. During the 4th of July parades I usually bring my baton and twirl down the street!!!! Talk about embarassing the family!!
Mike: I can't eat Mary Janes anymore although they are one of my favorites. They pull my fillings out. Stinks getting older!!
I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question about the French side of St Maarten. Why don't you post over there and ask? I'm sure you will get your answer. Everyone is great!!
Pat: I'm with you as far as planning. Can't get too upset. Seems like they don't really change formal night from what I've been reading from the people who have cruised before. Don't worry, go with the flow. It will all be great!!!::yes::
Wendy: I keep putting things into suitcases. The family keeps telling me we have time, but I know it will come down to the last minute and I hate that. The kids have such a busy week before the cruise and I have to work, cause the owner is out, that I want it done NOW!!! Maybe it's just all the excitment!!
Ginger: I know you won't read this till you have purchased something, but good luck. It looks like you need something new anyway. 30 LBS is a few sizes. Go for it girl!!!
Karen: I guess you are really packing now!! Only a few more days. Andrew is looking forward to meeting Emma. Have a great flight over.
Well, it's off to Walmart for a few last minute things.

Lynda: I agree with you about dinner on Friday night. It is easy and cheap and since we will be eating like kings and queens for the 7 days that follow I think McDonalds is a good choice!:teeth: That is what we will be doing too.
Mike: The last time we were in St.Maarten, which was quite a few years ago, you could travel to the french side and you didn't need anything with you. BTW: I love mary janes also!!:earseek: Of course I love any kind of candy, as long as there is no coconut!
DH and I tried to get our dinner outfits together last night. We did pretty good. I know what I will be wearing, he got 5 nights of outfits together.
I finally made it to the gym this morning.:Pinkbounc Hopefully tonight I will get back there for yoga.

I think I'm stressed because I keep forgetting to include info in my posts!
That's is absolutely hilarious that you used to be a baton twirler! Hmmm, maybe we should bring our batons and participate in a talent contest.....NOT!!!!!
Okay, hopefully I haven't missed anything this time!

Hi Everyone,
I am getting stressed reading your posts, because you are all so organized. I do have the Halloween stuff and the treat bags. I think that will be a job for DD `13 to put them together. I am working alot this week and weekend but I will get it together soon. I hope:confused:
Lynda I know Michelle is packing that baton as we speak. She really does twirll on the 4th of July. She also likes talent contests. lol Just think baton twirlling may take our minds away from the no hockey season lol:crazy:

I also made up treat bags. That way all the candy was packaged and I wouldn't be tempted to eat it:teeth: I had 78 bags done 2 weeks ago. I also have enough Halloween stuff for one suitcase.(treats, decorations, costumes) I also made special treat bags for potential table mates, servers, and cabin stewart.

We were in St. Martin a few years back and had no problem traveling on our own. There's nowhere really that anyone would have to check your ID, and almost everyone goes to the beach at Marigot Bay, French side (I think that's the name of it-that's the 1/2 nude, 1/2 clothed beach). It always seems that those who should not go naked never look in a full length mirror.

I got a minute and had to get on to tell you I got the spots out, I don't have to go shopping.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:
Pat, I hate shopping for formal clothes.
Michelle, I would have needed a new outfit if I hadn't gain 20 pounds in 2 weeks back in March. I suddenly got ill, Dr.'s still aren't 100% sure what is wrong, anyway I laid on the sofa eating peanut m&m's, feeling sorry for myself.
The last time we were on St. M's you didn't need any ID to go to the French side.
I'll be getting up early Sunday morning to put our treat bags together. It really does take up to alot of space if you make them ahead of time.
Our DD may do McDonald's or pizza, but DH and I are going to have Greek food from Zachary's. YUMMY!
Lynda you don't have to settle for McD's there is a good Itialian restaurant next door also Zach's. You can get carry-out from both. If the weather is good we may have dinner by the pool.
I gave, what is jai alai?
I use to love Mary Janes but I too can't have them anymore, month full of caps and crowns.
Wendy, I got the blender at Wal-mart a few weeks ago. It is sold with a larger blender, Hamilton Beach. They had 2 of the little ones on display, so I talked the dept. clerk into selling me one of them for $9.00. It works great.
O.K. so bringing the large blender is a no.
Bob, I would love to see the paddles but my computer would let me click and email you.
Off to bed now, 8 more days of work till we leave.

I don't know if it was mentioned earlier in this thread but our cruise will be one hour longer then a normal cruise. We go back to Standard time on Sunday, October 31st at 2am. That extra hour of sleep will be oh so nice.
I'm going to make up our TorT bags on our night at POR before the cruise. I want to get the kids to bed at a decent time and that will get us back to the room. These kids are going to be climbing the walls with all the sugar.
For some crazy reason I keep coming up with 59 TorT's, 2 babies, 3, one-two year olds and 54 children 3-13. Where am I going wrong? Planning on bringing a few extras anyhow.
DVCBob, I'm glad you suggested paddles and not flags, I could just hear the reports about the Dis tour group taking over the ship, cutting in lines, wearing revealing clothing (BG).

Boy, you can really feel the excitement in this thread!
"It always seems that those who should not go naked never look in a full length mirror." Pat, that especially seems to apply to clothing optional beaches!!!! I laughed my head off when I read that in your post!
Debbie: isn't it awful without NHL hockey? We went to see a Jr A game (which is one level below the NHL) but it just wasn't the same. We need to send those players and owners on a Disney cruise and see if they can't get along better after the cruise! And I've told Michelle if she's crazy enough to bring a baton, so am I! We just have to make sure we don't toss them in the air and see them sail overboard!
Karen: good luck on your job interview! What kind of job is it?
Ginger: hmmm, takeout Italian or Greek sounds better than McDonalds! And dinner at the pool sounds good too; I'll have to keep all that in mind the night before! And congrats on getting the stains out! I hate shopping for formal clothes too!
Donna: I laughed too when you said you could just hear the reports about the Dis tour group taking over the ship, cutting in lines, wearing revealing clothing! I immediately had a vision of all these threads on the DIS board addressing these issues!
Dena: glad I'm not the only one who hasn't made up door signs yet! My DD has made one but I haven't had time to do anything else! I guess that will be our job this weekend. Teri, thanks for the tip re the magnetic strips! I was looking for magnetic paper, but the strips sound easier.

Dena / Pat / Ginger, thanks for the St.M info. Wasn't sure.
Dena, I'm with you on coconut. No Almond Joys, no Mounds and no Pina Coladas. :crazy2:
Michelle, we didn't have frost, but it did get down to 37. Now that's chilly. I am so ready to get back to warm weather. AND NO RAIN! We had 3 inches yesterday. It just never stopped.
Ginger, glad to hear you got the stains out.
Donna, Diane mentioned that to me the other day too. Yeah!
Karen, like Dena said, deep breath. It'll come together. Doesn't it always. Good luck on the interview.
Cabin8538, I think the general concensus is that no one is sure and we'll have to wait til we get onboard to find out for sure.
Have a good day everybody.
Okay, I'm breathing, I'm breathing!
Thanks for all the good wishes for the interview. It's a job as Volunteer Development Co-ordinator for the Motor Neurone Association. I'll let you know how it goes.

Glad to hear how everything is coming together for everyone. It is nearly D-Day (Disney day) for all at long last. Bring on the Magic! :teeth:
<B>Flu Shots:</B> How many here managed to receive a flu shot (among kids AND adults)? I stood in line with my elderly mother for nearly 4 hours to get our shots last week. There is a real shortage here.
<B>MNSSHP:</B> I took my mom on Sunday and she lasted all the way until park closing. We made it to ALL the trick-or-treat stations. First I thought the treats seemed smaller and fewer in quantity than the last couple of years. Then when we got to a T-or-T station in Frontierland and they were "fawning" over my Pal Mickey in his costume (http://www.palmickey.net/pmhalloween.jpg), they literally filled up my PM's T-or-T bag with larger candy! Yaaaay Mickey! MNSSHP was great except some of the Halloween decor from last year seemed to be missing, such as those eye-catching huge "balloons" of Mickey, big pumpkin-head, whatever it was last year that was floating overhead with strange lighting - - none of that this time. But the parade was excellent, just "not so scary" compared to previous years. It also baffles me why, since they don't do the <I>Wishes</I> fireworks, they have the old <I>Fantasy in the Sky</I> and call it "Halloween fireworks" (but yes, Tinkerbell is a bit different for this event). In any case, to me it is always a worthwhile event. :) If you have kids, don't miss the <I>Mouse-Ka-Rade Costume Party</I> in Tomorrowland.
<B>My Costume:</B> My "jumpsuit" for being <I>Gadget Hackwrench</I> arrived earlier than expected. :) I am not sure if I will wear it to MNSSHP the 24th and 28th, but it will be my attire for Halloween on the ship.
<B>Castaway Club Reception:</B> I was wondering how many here will be attending the onboard Castaway Club Reception for repeat DCL cruisers, and if there are any plans to sit together as a DIS group?

I just came back from voting. It's a relief to have that done with. I kept having this fear that I would keep putting it off for the next day and then forget to vote and leave for the cruise.
Shari: I got Emily her flu shot, well 1/2 of it anyway. Since it's her first year getting it they have to break it up into 2 shots. The second one she is supposed to get the week we come back from the cruise. If they have any left. So far she is the only one who got it. Unsually my oldest son gets it due to his asthma, but I have to call Emilys pediatritian and see if she will give it to him as our family dr doesnt have any.:(
Usually we try to get to the CC Reception, however last year we didnt. But I would like to go this time and am willing to go with a group of Dissers. the way that is worded sounds funny!

Good Afternoon everyone! I just got back from working a short shift this morning. I still have to work tomorrow night, friday night, sunday and next Tuesday morning. Then I am done for 12 days!!!!
I went and voted yesterday. We started on Thursday in WV. They told me that as of noon yesterday they already had 700 people vote in Mononagalia County. That's really good for only 2 1/2 days.
Picked up my gown and my ds jacket from the alteration place. I'm going to try it on and make sure that it fits correctly. Starting to pack slowly. I made my list and started to put the non-essentials in the suitcases. I have 5 wal-mart bags filled with treat bags so I am going to spread them out among the suitcases so they don't weigh too much. I started pulling out dinner clothes and washing the new shirts for the boys. I still have to hem DS pants. Don't have time this weekend because we have TJ's birthday party and then in the evening on Sat. our neighbors have a halloween party for the adults, and the kids are coming to our house to party. I hired our 15yr old neighbor to watch the boys and manage the party. There will also be a 16 yr old girl and three 13 yrs olds to help out. We did this last year and it worked out fine. I just have to put a menu together for the kids.
My DH asked me the other day if I was watching the weather, I said why? Like I can do anything about the weather? All I care about is getting on the boat. It could rain cats and dogs for all I care. Just put me in a chair with a tall cold one!!:drinking1
But I did check for him and it looks so far pretty good. 80's and partly sunny. Anything is better than the high 50 yesterday. Oh and the rain can go away too!!!

Karen- Good luck on your job interview.
Dena- I hope you are feeling better. :D
Ginger- Glad to hear you got the stains out of your formal wear. You could have still worn it and been Monica Lewinsky.:hyper: :hyper:
Julie- Hope you and your family are feeling better now.
Lynda- Walmart sells the magnetic paper and magnetic strips
DMS_cruisers04- What no Pina Colada. That's my favorite.
Shari- I plan on going to the Castaway Club reception. I have not made it to any of the other's.
alwatlers- So far the weather looks good. :sunny:
Michelle- You can be the entertainment with your baton.

Ginger, congrats on getting the formal wear formal again. I LOVE to shop and now that I'm working 6+ days a week, I feel as though I'm going through withdrawal from not being about to go out and shop.
I'm jealous of those of you who have started to pack -- I did get the spare bed cleaned off so I can start putting stuff out to pack --it's gotta get done Sunday!

Karen - Good luck on the job interview - I don't know if I would be able to concentrate enough to do a good job with one right now.
To share the good news with all of you, the amnio results came back fine! It's a huge weight off my shoulders - dr. says "go have fun on the cruise!"
Now packing panic is starting to set in - I'm so worried that I'll completely forget something important. I know my formal wear doesn't have spots, since I had to get new maternity formalwear (not so easy to find something attractive there - I think it makes me look as big as a house, but I like the fabric and it's comfortable). DH is completely unconcerned; at least, I got him to try on his one suit last night - it fits, just has to go to the dry cleaners today!
I need to clean off the guest room bed and start staging things - then maybe I'll start to feel in control a little bit.
Door decorations sound great, but are pretty far down on my list right now, I'm afraid. Still working on pirate costumes for MNSSHP / Pirate night on ship.
Well, off to work again. Talk to you all soon...

Cruise Docs - questions
I am just now closely examining the cruise docs. For the "Payment Authorization Form", along with my set of docs, do I need to fill out this information on my wife's and each of our three children's too? How about the departure information card; do I fill out the info on everyones docs? And lastly, is it the same for the Cruise Contract Signature Form?
Thanks! I'm trying to get these details taken care of. Little more shopping for items on our packing list, and packing will begin this weekend. It's getting so close I can almost hear that Disney horn!!:hyper:

Shari, I can see a bunch of us Dis'ers going to the CC party...I'm game! I'm glad your Gadget costume came in!!! I'll see you at MNSSHP!!
Judi, My hubby has been traveling a lot for work so he looks at the weather where he's going, so last night he asked me what the weather was like in Orlando....I was saying...I don't know and I don't care....just as long as we're going!!! We were also talking about what we were going to pack (I'm laying stuff out before I put it in the bag) and he gets funny, because I'm making him a shirt and he wants it finished before we go!
I'm almost done with it....just have to put in the sleeves and hem it up!
I'm getting very excited! Ending my job and going on vacation! I love it!!
See you all soon!

I'll see you at MNSSHP!!Would you believe that after all this "hassle" for me with MNSSHP nights - first planning on my nephew being with me the 28th, got my ticket, then he said he has to fly (work), then he has me get two tickets for the 24th, then my mom wanted to go Sunday so I got two more tickets and took her on the 17th - <I>NOW</I> my nephew has managed to change his schedule and will be here from the 23rd until November 2nd! The two of us are still doing O'Hana and MNSSHP on the 24th (which I am paying for since it is his birthday present), but now he'll be here and IF I want company for MNSSHP on the 28th, I'll have to buy him a ticket. Even though he is a gainfully employed airline pilot, he just bought a condo and now has a mortgage, so he is watching his finances. I am watching mine, too - flying right out the window!
If I decide to take him with me the 28th, I will probably cancel my PS for LTT that evening, because it is at 5:05 and since he is no longer a passholder he would have to use his last complimentary pass he received for being in the MGM Star Wars parade to get in. He doesn't want to do that.
Anyway, <B>vikingfans</B> - If you do not see me at LTT, it means my nephew is with me, and I'm sure we'll run into each other somewhere in the park that evening. ::MinnieMo

Shari: you're going to need that cruise after all that MNSSHP planning! Re the Castaway Club reception, we were planning to attend and I would love to go as a group!
Teri: thanks for the tip re Walmart!
Jennifer: GREAT news re the amnio! I was so glad to hear that everything turned out fine! Perfect timing!
dis4me: Thunderette and cheerleader?!!! Great, I'm sure Michelle and I can fit you in with our batons! We'll need the rest of the DISers to cheer us on!
Pat: working 6+ days a week!!! You're really going to need that cruise!
Judi: glad to hear about the good weather! I was afraid to check it! The weather here is so cold and wet and windy! Just 2 weeks ago, we were wearing our summer clothes and now we've got winter coats and mittens on!
Have a great day! Lynda

I was checking out a post that all the tip on it. There is conflicting info on the 2 way radios. We have 4 cabins and thought it would be a good idea to take them. Has anyone ever done this and is it worth it?
I agree about the packing. I too am feeling stressed. I am going to stop sewing tonight and set up a satging area. I though I would take the next four days and keep adding to it. Then take a couple days and take away from the pile. Does this sound reasonable or what?
You all have been very helpful. I read your tips dailey. In case I do not get to meet you all I want to take a minute and thank you now.
Hi all. My interview went very well and they have just rung to offer me the job! I won't have anything in writing until after we get back home from the cruise but it gives me time to make up my mind. I think I am most likely to take it though as it seems really interesting.
We will most likely go to the CC Reception and it would seem like a good chance to get together. Can anyone remember whether kids can go? Emma would probably like to be involved if we are using it as a Dismeet.
We used two way radios last time and it worked quite well. There are a few blackspots on the ship where you get a poor signal but overall we managed to keep in touch reasonably well.
Right just off to open a bottle of fizz! Take care all.

KAREN: Congratulations on the Job!!:cheer2: You go girl!!:cheer2:
JENNIFER: I was so glad to hear everything is okay!! I remember last year when I was waiting to hear, especially on th day that I knew they were going to call with the results.:sunny:
FAIREYGOD MOTHER: We have used two way radios in the past and have not had too many problems with them. They are a very convienent way to stay in touch.
SHARI: Like Lynda said, you will need a cruise to recoup after all of your MNSSHP's.
SCOTT: I think you only have to fill out one payment authorization form, I know each person has to have their cruise contract filled out and I think each person has to have the departure form filled out too.

Yes, kids are allowed. I would not recommend it for <I>very</I> young children, because they get restless and many tend to grab at the food on the buffet with their hands instead of using utensils. I've even seen some pick things up and then put them back. It's a bit of a turn-off for those wanting to eat the buffet items. :( Some also tend to get their hands all over the ice sculpture, contributing to it melting. However . . .
I think Emma would enjoy the reception immensely!

Lynda,
Our weather here in NJ hasn't been the best lately, either. The sun has not been out in two days and its damp and cold. I'm putting off getting my fall/winter clothes out, as I want to wait til after the cruise.
I'm jealous of Dena's high 70's -- we're in the 50s daytime and 40s nighttime. It is supposed to warm up a bit this weekend, so just need to hold off for another week. . .

Count us in on the CC event, we went on our last cruise and really enjoyed it.
I think I would love some fall weather, today it was a hot 88 degrees I wish we would have seasons here. But in New Orleans its summer and not summer.
Karen -congrats on the job offer and have a safe flight.
Jennifer-glad everything is well.
See ya'll in a few days
Wendy
Good Morning all,
Seems like we'll be losing a couple of people soon, as they will be off to WDW. Hope all of you that are leaving early have safe travel. I do hope to run into you on the ship.
If you see a red head wearing a lime green bead bracelet, that would be me. Come up and say hello. I would love to meet you. If not then I too want to say Thank You for all your help over the past 6 months.
I won't be at the CC party.:( This is our 1st cruise.
Karen: In case you do see this before your flight. Congrats!!
Wendy: I guess you still have the air conditioner on right? 88 I like it that way. Just don't like the humidity.:sunny:
Teri: You're better than me, I need the water to be very warm.
Toni: I'm packing the baton, so if you want to pack pom-poms we could have alot of laughs!!:hyper:
Jennifer: Gald to hear about your results. Don't worry about packing. It will all come together.
Laura: I know I will meet you cause the kids are in your group for T or T. See you onboard!!!
Shari: Seems like you have alot of organizing to do. Bet you're glad you're already packed.
Pat: I'm looking forward to some warmer weather. How about you?:sunny: At least the sun will be out today!
Scott: I'll be filling out those doc's over the weekend, so if I have any ??? I'll ask you, since you're done. Okay?
Off to work
Michelle:earsgirl: :Pinkbounc  :hyper: Getting nuts!! Oh, I'm already there!!! LOL

Teri, you are so mean talking about your beautiful weather when we're freezing up here!!!!! LOL! You're swimming in your pool while we're putting on winter coats and digging out hats and gloves! At least, we don't have the snow boots out yet! Oh well,
not too long before we can experience that glorious Caribbean sun and heat!
Karen, congrats on the job! It does sound very interesting and you'll have to tell us more about it when we meet on the ship!
Pat: I'm having trouble fitting clothes into my closet because I have all my summer clothes still in there for the vacation, but I have to keep adding winter clothes to go to work in! I'm hoping to pack the vacation clothes this weekend and then do the big switchover in the closets so I don't have to worry about it when I get home!
Wendy: we seem to get summer and no summer (ie. cold winter) weather too, although our fall so far has been very nice this year I have to admit. It's just lately that we've received the cold, damp weather and along with the days getting shorter, it's just nasty! But usually, our winter seems to last into May, then we get a few short weeks of summer, and then September turns into winter again! And we're suffering even more up here because we have no NHL hockey to tune into during those cold, winter nights!
We're leaving for WDW on Tuesday, so the excitement mode is pretty high! But the kids are struggling with the extra homework they received because they'll miss 9 days of school, so it looks like it'll be hectic right up unto the last minute!
Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks! The Halloween Magic 2004 website is located <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/">HERE</A></B> at http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/. After you click the link, add it to your bookmarks (or "Favorites") in your browser if you have not already done so.
There are links at the top and bottom of the page that go to the various pages. You can click on "<I>Cruiser List</I>," then on any user name on the list that is a link (not everyone submitted a photo), and it will take you to their photo. Otherwise, click on "<I>News</I>" and there is a link in the first paragraph that goes to the first page of cruiser pictures, then a link near the bottom of that page that will take you to the second page of cruiser pictures. I did not add a link in the "menu" on each page to go to the cruiser pics, as I figured everyone could just go to the <I>Cruiser List</I> and click on everyone if they did not go to the News page.
Have I thoroughly confused everyone now? :hyper:

I was wondering if we could set up a little get together, either while waiting to board or once we get on so some of these little ones can meet each other. I see that Sammi and Leesa are both Bailey's age. We are planning on getting to the port at 1030. Let me know what you guys think.
I am excited and overwhelmed. I hope the time does not fly by once we are on the cruise. It is kinda like a great dessert. I just want to savor every minute and make it last a L O N G time.
See you all soon

I just checked the extended forecast for St. Maarten, and on the day we'll be there it calls for a high of 88 degrees! It's also supposed to be humid, so the forecast says it will feel like 97! Lucky it's a beach day for us.
I just realized that I'd never uploaded our photos to the website. Its it too late? I've got one of DW and me, and another of our two granddaughters.
