Good Morning all;

Hi Kelly, Glad you're aboard. My DS is 15 and there will be several 15 yr olds we are traveling with. We also have a DS 13, and DD 11.

Hi Jennifer and family.

Lynda: How have you been? All is well here. Have you been reading the boards? I think we're going to do the Sky Tram in St. Thomas. Sounds like something I would like to see. I was on a site this morning and you can really see what it's all about. Go to the main DCL board and look for my ?. Someone gave me a great site.

Shari: I'm really hoping that they have some great things going on in ST Maarten the day we are there. It sounds like it might be great fun. I guess we'll have to wait till it gets closer to see what is really going on.

But now I think I'll skip booking any excursion there and leave myself available for tracking down any of the day's festivities! :teeth:

Hi Michelle! Yes, the Sky Tram in St. Thomas does look awesome (I checked the main board and looked for your post and accessed the website)! I don't think this is a part of Godfrey's tour though, is it? It looks like something you'd have to do separately. Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Re St Maarten, we had planned on going horseback riding with Bayside Riding Club. However, I'm going to try out a trail ride at home first to make sure my allergies don't overwhelm me! If they do, I'm pulling out of the horseback riding and probably doing what Shari is doing, and that's checking out the festivities now that we know about that Tourism Day!

It's my last day at work (yahoo! Timed this contract so that I could have most of the summer off with the kids!) so I might not be on the board as frequently as I have! We're having some problems with our internet and email at home and my DH hasn't been home much to take a good look at it. Hopefully it will be fixed soon! I need my regular fix!

Viking Fan,
You are welcome. Glad it could help. Hope Scott saw it, or knew about the release of dates.
Pretty soon we will all be in double digits!

Well, I was not able to get the cheapest rates into Orlando. In fact, by the time I noticed the rate/schedule being posted at 1:00 yesterday, the cheap fares were gone. So, plan B began today.

I've got Continental on hold for 285 per person. That gets to be a large sum when you have to pay for five of us! USAirways was 394 per person, so they are out of the picture.

Southwest can get me to West Palm Beach by 7:00PM direct from Phili, and then flying out of Tampa at 3:05 and getting back to Phili by 7:00 will cost me about 825 for the whole family.

It may be a little more driving than I intended, but for about 700 savings, it works for me. We'll still get a hotel in the Orlando area on the Saturday night the Magic returns. We intend to use the "minor parks" portion of our Parkhopper tickets and go to the water parks for the day.

So, just got the credit card out and we're finally gotten the flight arrangements complete!:bounce:

Next will be the hotel. Had the Hyatt booked with Hyatt Gold Passport rewards, but we won't be staying there now. Guess I'll try a cheap hotel near the port.

Oh yea, guess I'll be changing the rental car too.

Take care all and thanks for the help! Sidestep helped a lot with the seach. Thanks for the tip.

Good evening all!!:wave2:

Scott: Wow that seems like alot of driving. How about from Baltimore? How were the fares from there?

Lynda: I think I'll email Godfrey tours about the Sky Tram. I think we can walk from the ship and then maybe pick him up. I may have to have him drive me there. When it gets closer I'll email him and let him know exactly what I want to do and how many people we will be. We are a family of 5, but may have 3 more with us. That would be 8. I think the AC Van may hold at least 16 according to 4nana. Hope you can get online and talk with us. I'll miss you. When will you be back?

Ginger: Hope all is well with you.

Karen: How are thing over in your neck of the woods? Is Emma on her trips? We have a friend going to France and Germany next week. Hoping for good weather. I am watching her cats while they are away.

Disney_newf: Can you post the web site again? So I can keep my eye on thing in St Maarten.

Thanks all,

Scott,
I'm probably to late, but did you check Southeast out of Allentown to Sanford? I just saw non-stop both ways for $69 leaving on Friday, $99 coming home on Sunday. We went Allentown/Sanford once and it was nice to deal with small airports. When we went the flights were not direct one-way, but I would do it again if they were both direct and it was the best price. Also I think the parking was cheaper.

Hi All:wave2: Just have a minute to chat before I head out to work.
Things are fine here, thank you for your concern Michelle. We're busy working on the deck, having play dates over to swim and so forth.

We visited the Sky Tram on our first visit to St. Thomas. It was an easy walk from the ship. A fun place to visit, a few shops at the top. Not an all day excursion and no need for a tour guide to do this one.

We are beach people, so planning a trip to St. John, if the weather permits. Anyone interested to join us, feel free. Same for our trip to Anguilla. I promise we'll get back to the ship before she sails. ::yes::

I updated the T-or-T list, let me know if I missed anyone or messed up in anyway.

Have a great day all:wave:

mhb - There are a couple of great resource links for St. Maarten on the <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/resources.html">Resources</A></B> page of the Halloween Magic website. One is a direct link to the island's info page on Expedia and has LOTS of useful general info. The other is a big page of St. Maarten/St. Martin links, and only a minimal number of them are "dead links." :p

mhb
07-17-2004, 09:43 AM
Shari: What are dead links? I will have to go on and see what is out there. Thanks so much for keeping me informed. I just am HOOKED on all this. But, today is a beautiful day so I'm going outside.
Thanks again,
Michelle

Just an FYI in case anyone sends me any additions or changes to the Cruiser List or Halloween Magic website - -

I am getting off-line as soon as I post this, and will probably not be back online again until sometime Monday as I am catching a 6 a.m. flight headed out west tomorrow (Sunday) morning.

I try to update info as soon as I receive it, so I wanted to let everyone know of my brief absence to assure you I have not abandoned ship! :teeth:

Hey all!:wave2:

It's been a few days since I've posted, so I had to catch up some. Welcome to the new people!

Ginger: I still have not made my ressies for the hotel. I hope to get that done by the end of this week, as well as start looking at oriental trading for my halloween goodies!:earseek:

I have been trying to think of what I want to dress Emily up as, but have not come up with too many ideas yet. I was hoping to have her and Ashley match, or be a theme together. I am open to suggestions.:teeth:

Well, we are going to start painting the inside of our house this week, so it will probably be a while before I post again. Wish me luck!!! I am going to need it!:crazy2:

Michelle:

You're right the drive there isn't really that horrible because you leave around 3AM and you arrive around 6PM and it's still light out. I read all the magazines that I have piling up all year on the way down and the kids watch movies so it's not horrible. The way home is torture to me because I can only read 1/2 the way and the other half it's dark and I just sit listening to kid movies. Last year our car battery died when we got back to the port and my DS and I had spent the whole night up with him violently ill in the bathroom every couple minutes. He was still very sick when we pulled into port and headed for the car. An elderly couple took pity on us and gave us a jump but we didn't dare turn the car off until we got home 18 hours later even though we had to stop many times for my DS. I can't believe I'm doing it again but I still think it's easier than flying.

The drive to Vermont was 6 1/2 hours there and over 9 hours home because of horrible traffic. Where driving to Florida is just straight this was twisting through mountains and a much harder drive. I don't know where to begin about Smuggler's Notch. I hated every second of it, the kids had a better time because they enjoyed the camps for the most part. We were in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and it was rainy and too cold to go to pools. You aren't near restaurants, or anything for that matter. It was one of those trips for us where we have a million stories but in the end it could have been worse. Needless to say I can't wait for the cruise!

Hi All:wave:
I just have a minute, getting Ashley ready for bed, me too. One more day to work than off for one.
Boy, what a day. It started out with car trouble :headache: smoke pouring out from under the hood. I had just dropped Ashley off at Kinder Care and was heading to the Post Office when it started. Thank goodness I only live 3 minutes away from both places Kinder Care to the north and the Post Office to the south my house in the middle. I took my smoking bomb home to settle itself down in my drive. I jumped into another truck and went to work, 3 minutes late. I had to use a goverment vehicle for my route delivier, :space: . Those little white trucks are nasty, dirty and they stink. Worst of all they have no A/C or tunes. It was a day from HECK.
But hey it got better, when I got back to the Post Office I got to play with baby chicks:Pinkbounc .
One of my customers ordered them, they came in on a late truck, the customer was coming into the Post Office to pick them up. They were so cute.
Also I got my car fixed, leaking hose, at a nearby garage, for FREE.:teeth:

You all have a great day tomorrow.:teeth:

Tracy, sorry to hear about Smuggler's Notch. I always get pamphlets on them and was even thinking of going one day. Do you think it was because of the weather?

How about the cruise, have you ever been on one and not had good weather? I know there are things to do onboard but what about the islands?

Sounds as if you DH drives all the way. Do you take turns driving?

Thanks for answering some of the questions on the email situation. I still don't understand. We get on the internet through comcast, but I still don't understand what you were telling me. I even printed it out to ask DH. What I want to do is be able to email friends and family at home while onboard.

By the way, I'll email you directly about next week and the pool. Are you around?

mhb

Ginger: What a day!!!::yes:: Did you say they fixed your car for free? What a great deal!! Alot of headaches during the day, but better in the end.

Aren't baby chick soooo cute.:Pinkbounc My driver sometime has her own radio with her. I always stop and talk with her, she says it breaks up the day.

Hope things are better tomorrow.

Michelle:

The weather wasn't the reason we didn't like the place it was more being in the middle of nowhere, the lack of anything to do, the really horrible entertainment that they make sound so wonderful but in reality wasn't good and several bad employees. For the kids what they experienced in camp was new to them and they enjoyed that for the most part but that ended at 4:00 and from then on there was NOTHING to do. What restaurant that were offered on site were bad and if you wanted to go somewhere else it was a 45 minute drive. I think we are more a cruise type of family where everything is right there for you.

We did have a rainy sea day on the last cruise but that was the day the kids actually went into the pool. They had to cancel certain deck events and on other days they had the pools closed because the seas were so rough. There is always so much to do on the ship that it was more a problem not being able to do it all. They still have activities on the ship if it is raining while in port but we have been really lucky to have had beautiful days every time.

Yes my DH does all the driving by choice. I would love to do some of it because it makes the trip go by faster but he likes to do it.

Accessing your email is very easy. You go to www.comcast.net on the top of the page theres a button for email. Click that and it takes you to a log on page. You would put in your email address and the password you used when you set up your home account and it takes you to your inbox and you can send mail from there. Yahoo allows you to access not only your yahoo mail but other mail servers including comcast. You need to know the pop server information used when you set up the account, account name and password. I had no problem getting or sending email.

I am around next week. You're all welcome to come here if you like. The kids could swim (an our pool would get some use) and I could show you how the email thing works. Let me know what's good for you.

Hi All:wave:
Double digits, great!!!! This vacation can't come fast enough for me, I need it bad.
I thought I was going to have off from work yesterday but it didn't happen. I was a little upset about that, I was looking forward to spending so time with my family. Getting ready to go in now, had a few extra minute, family is still in bed. It's going to be a great day here, it's raining. :fish: me today.

On a better note, I started my collection of "STUFF" to bring on the cruise. I bought a plung in night lite air freshener for our stateroom potty. Laundry soap tablets, can't make it through a cruise without doing a load or two. I've got more but running out of time here, so see you all tomorrow.

Bye!

Hi all,

It has been a long time since I have posted, but I’m still here. I swore off the DIS boards until we got under the 100 day mark, as I spent too much time on the boards two years ago before we went on the 2002 Halloween Magic cruise.

The first week in August we are going to the Pocono’s for a week and then when we get home I can truly start on cruise planning. I just read Ginger’s comment about starting to collect things for the cruise and I really need to start at least writing up a list. Part of the fun for me is the planning and the packing. I suspect my DH thinks I’m a little nuts, but he loves me anyway. ;) Also need to start researching airfare. We usually fly out of Newark, but I think we may try ABE this year if the price is right. Anyone ever use ABE?

Lynne

Donnainnj
07-24-2004, 09:53 PM
Lynne,
ABE is Allentown, Pa, right? We went out of there once, on Southeast, and would do it again with a direct flight, if the price was right. I would get on purchasing airfare ASAP, unless you have a lot of flexability in start and end dates. The airport is nice and small, easy to get to (we drove from Monmouth County) and parking is close and a little cheaper then most airports. Sanford, where southeast flys into isn't bad either. I think the rental car was slightly more expensive, but it was quick and easy for pick-up and drop-off. Good Luck.

Hi All:wave:
I've been collecting little syrup bottles from Cracker Barrel, again.
We use them to collect sandy from the beaches we visit. It make great souvenirs for the kids, plus they are easy to take to school for show and tell.

Good luck Lynne with the airfares.

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let you know that we're staying at the Radisson the night before. We booked the cruise package after I read about it here on the DIS and I've reserved space on the 10:30am shuttle!

Double digits, how exciting!!!!

I'm off work for the summer now and I'm busier now than when I was working! Our email is almost fixed but at least I still have the internet so I can check in now and again! Trouble is, I don't seem to have as much time to do that now that I'm not at work!

I spent sometime looking into airfares today. Unless we are willing to go to Kennedy, which is not a great alternative, there were not any great deals. ABE (Allentown) did not offer any direct flights and I found cheaper direct flights out of Philly. Newark is still in the running because it is only about 35 minutes from our house.

Ginger – I am jealous that you live close enough to Cracker Barrel to start collecting the little Syrup bottles. Also like the idea of using the bottle to collect sand. We just bring it back in our bathing suits!

We plan on flying in Friday night and finding some place to stay near the airport that night and heading down to the port in the morning.

We still haven’t told the kids about the Cruise. I can’t believe that we have kept it a secret for this long. We think we will tell them sometime in September. I am still trying to come up with a creative way break the news to them. Anyone else keeping it a secret from the kids?

Lynne

Donnainnj
07-28-2004, 08:43 AM
Lynne,
If you want to be simple in announcing the trip a messege in a bottle might work. In the past we have surprised our kids a few times with trips. One trip to Disney HH, we just woke them up and left at about 5:30am. On a trip to WDW, we gave them a poster I drew of the castle covered with 61 numbered post-its on Easter. The top said "We're going to...." and the bottom said "days." as they took off days they saw the castle and figured out we were going to WDW. Maybe you could take them on a boat tour locally, maybe a dolphin tour in Cape May, they are reasonable, and by September the weekends won't be to busy. Then you can somehow work in asking them if they would like to go on a much longer/much larger boat. The Mes. in the bottle could work here to. Another idea would be a treasure hunt. Where the kids would find clues and each would direct them to the next one, with something special at the last one, letting them know. Maybe a couple of Disney Towels, new bathing suits, brochures ets. Or the clues could be physical to, each one a gift that will hint at the trip, with the kids having to figure out where you are going. Have fun!!
Donna
PS- I love jetblue, but hate getting to JFK, so that is one of my last options to.

Haven't been around much, just lurking now and again because things have been crazy here. We're waiting on pins and needles to hear if dh will be called up and deployed before the trip. He got an extra duty call up for some sort of ship orientation thing. pirate: I'm taking it as sign he'll be activated. So we may or may not be on the cruise-- he wants us to go without him if he's gone, but the kids don't want to.

Ginger: I'm so glad my kids don't read this board! If they saw that bottle of sand idea I'd have collections of bottles of sand to go with the rocks, sticks, leaves, Spanish moss, raw cotton, etc. DD brough back a rock from Italy because she found it on the ground in the forum in Rome-- she thought it might be an "ancient Roman rock" but then was afraid she'd be arrested by customs for stealing antiquities. So she put it in dh's suitcase. :p

Hi All:wave2: I've been working, working, working.

Lynne how's about an invite to join us again aboard the Disney Magic for a little Halloween fun. I'll send it along with a few bottles for them to fill with beach sand. If you like this idea send me your snail mail info. by email or PM.

BTW,No customs problems with our little sand bottles.

Julie I hope you get to join us on the cruise, sending Pixie Dust your way.

That's cool. In most places it is not permitted since sand is considered soil and it's the Dept. of Agriculture that deals with that. The same goes for shells. In fact, DCL room stewards have <I>occasionally</I> been known to remove shells from Guests' staterooms if they see them, unless they were "packaged and purchased" shells. In many countries it's a major offense to remove <I>anything</I> from the beaches or wilderness areas. It wasn't years ago, but now they are more environmentally conscious.

But hey - if Customs actually <I>sees</I> that you bring back sand and allows it, then that's great news. Thanks for the info. ;)

I've seen CM's make people leave star fish and shells when we go to Castaway Cay, and I know they want you to wash the sand off your feet when you board (for obvious reasons), but I've not seen them make anyone leave sand.

I don't know about the other islands, can't remember seeing anything like shells going on the ship there.

The way work is going...I'm REALLY going to need this vacation in October! Can't wait!

Thanks for the great suggests on how to tell our kids about the cruise. Haven’t had a chance to think about them yet. Work was stressful last week and now I am doing the last minute laundry and packing before we go to the Pocono’s for the week.

Have a great week everyone!

Good Morning everyone! Sorry I have been gone for so long, but with the boys home this summer and my work schedule a little hectic I haven't been on the computer as much as I would like. I have been getting your emails for the trick or treating and filing them in my database. I will be going overthem again tomorrow and then I will post what information I may have missed. Also I am going to read over the posts from this forum and see if anyone else plans on going. I will post this info tomorrow afternoon so keep an eye out for it. Thanks for being so patient. I can't wait for this cruise. We need a vacation badly, even though TJ still doesn't want to go for his birthday. He is afraid he is not going to have his party with his friends. I told him that we would have it the weekend before we leave(his is on Halloween). We got lucky that there is no West Virginia University Home game that weekend, because when they are home, no body does anything else but go to the game. We tried to have a party when he was 2 on a home game day, we invited 20 some kids and only 2 showed. Thank goodness he was only 2 so he wasn't upset at all. Of course with my luck this year he will invite the kids in his class(about 22) and all of them will show up.

Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Good Morning everyone!! As the days go by I get more and more excited. I can't believe we have 37 T or T'ers. I've been looking into Orential Trading for some things that we would like to give out. Do you guys make up small treat bags?

Michelle

Can anyone tell me how to put up a counter? I don't want to ask a silly question, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Thanks

Hi all:wave:
Michelle I wish I could tell you how to get a count down clock, but I can't, sorry. Maybe the folks on the Tech board can. I'm sure it's an easy thing to do.
Yes small t-or-t bag are best, the kids get so much stuff.
Last year we had 42 t-or-t'er. I expect we will have more this year. There's always late signers. We'll have to a cut off date to get final count.

Welcome back Karen and Emma, how was your holiday?

Still looking for family staying at the Radisson before the cruise, so far Lynda Silk and myself, maybe Dena???

Wow I really can't believe how close this trip is. We had a slight scare today, my DH called me while at work, I am an ER nurse and said he was having chest pain. Now mind you he hates hospitals so I knew he was really feeling bad. He came in and wound up having to have a angiogram tonight, luckily all is well and it came back clear. :Pinkbounc Now I really really need a vacation. I better wait a little while before I tell him I need some new clothes for the cruise I wouldn't want to get his pressure up just yet

Hi everyone. Just checking in now we are back from holiday. We had a wonderful relaxing time - lots of good food, wine and walking. Now to shed the weight I put on (and what I already needed to lose) before we cruise. It seems really close now but as Emma has her China trip before then, we have lots to think about.

Hope everyone is well.

Wendy I'm glad your DH is doing well and it wasn't anything serious.

Karen, I'm battling to get the extra pounds off too. I should learn to just except them. And I would if my formal wear was the same size as I am. I hate to shop for clothes, sounds crazy doesn't it.

Has anyone found out when formal night will be? I think I had read somewhere that Disney may be moving it from its traditional Sunday (Halloween for our cruise) to a different night. Any updates?

Scott

SweetSpot
08-05-2004, 05:16 PM
I just called to make final payment and asked the CM if she knew when the formal night would be. She said it is strictly a ship decision and that we will not know until we are onboard. She read the description of that night from her calendar and they mention costumes, etc. It really didn't sound as if that would be formal night. Now my over planning self is in unable to over plan. I usually ask for PLA so that we can be at tropical night and formal night in the restaurants most appropriate. I also have my daughters b-day celebrated on formal night because we would be in Lumier and Cinderella is at the top of the stairs for autographs at that time and my DD loves Cinderella. Anyone have any idea how they would switch the days around?

taswira
08-06-2004, 09:23 AM
That CM is correct. Those you speak with regarding your cruise booking have nothing to do with the onboard ship schedule, which often is not decided until the day a particular <I>Personal Navigator</I> is printed! And anything said about how it may have been done under these circumstances in the past may also not be the case this time.

The best you can do regarding planning is to be knowledgeable of all the ship offers (which I'm sure you are). Then just enjoy the spontaneity of things. I'm sure your daughter will have a wonderful time on her birthday and throughout the cruise. If the schedule doesn't turn out the way you hoped, <I>enjoy</I> whatever you end up doing wherever you are, and your daughter is sure to share the happiness. :teeth:

It is beautiful here in NJ. The air is off and the windows are opened. The tomatoes are coming in, and so are the cucumbers. We even have a pumpkin. Too Early, but at least now we can carve it for Aug 31st and enjoy it. You know we'll be crusing on Halloween!!!::yes::

Hope everyone had a good week. We were in Ocean City for a couple of days. The water was warm, but the waves were big.

I can't believe the end of this month is our 60 day mark. Got to place that call.:Pinkbounc

jaypd: I'm still at a loss. I even went on to the Tech fourm, found where you can get the counter and still don't know what I'm doing.:hyper: I know it's just me being me.

Ginger: I've got my Orential Trading order ready and waiting for me to send it. Are we still at 37 children?

Karen: Glad your holiday went well. I'm heading to the gym now to shed some of those extra pounds too. I'll still be working on it when we sail. Never ending battle! LOL How is your daughter making out? Enjoying her holiday too?

Guess that's it for now, hope everyone has a great day.

Hi,

My family will also be on the cruise as will our neighbors. Is it too late to be added to trick of treat list and how are you planning to work that? (I can go and read through the thread, but didn't have time yet.)

We will be in stateroom 6062.

I don't know what stateroom our neighbors are in, but I'll find out. They have 4 children (10) (7) (3) and (2).

Hey everyone:tongue:

We finally finished painting the house:jumping1: What a project that was with a baby around. Anyway, I love how it looks!!!

GINGER: I finally made my ressies for the rad for the night before YEA!! All we need now is the strawberries and chocolate.:hyper2:

SCOTT: I just called DVC yesterday and added the REAS package. I am so excited!!:cheer2: We had that added two years ago and I enjoyed it.

WELCOME wjbc! I don't think it is too late to be added to the TorT list. We usually meet in the atrium at a specific time and go door to door to our own staterooms. It is alot of fun and much less hectic than Disney TorT. The past two years I made up little goodie bags with some candies and goods from oriental trading and just pack them in a box in one of my suitcases.

QUESTION FOR GINGER - Will we be setting a cut off date for adding TorTers like we did last year?

KAREN: Now Brendan is not sure whether or not he wants to go on the cruise. Tell James and Oliver to email him and get a fire under his bum!!:confused3

Have a great afternoon everyone!

Hello everyone from a sunny UK! Mind you yesterday we had torrential rain and floods so it may not last.

Dena, I have told the boys to beg, bribe, plead, threaten and od whatever necessary to get Brendan to cruise. They have been looking forward to seeing him again so will be really fed up if he doesn't go.

Ginger, I think we will bring our T or T goodies down to the atrium and give them out before you all go off on the patrol round the ship. Hope that's okay.

Emma has gone to York with her boyfriend today to look round the University. He will go next year and she wouldn't be going till 2006 but it still brings a lump to my throat to think of her leaving home.

If anyone has a teen girl around 16 or 17 in their party for the cruise, remind me as I know Emma would love to get to know someone beforehand by e-mail. I don't think she's too keen on checking out the Stack again. She's tried it twice and it just isn't her scene.

Better go - I'm supposed to be working!

Hi All,

It's been a long time since I've posted. Been busy this summer with the nice weather and all.

Mike: I like your idea of somehow finding out what everyone is bringing for the t&t's. I, too, have been looking at the Oriental Company and am wondering what I should get. Around here we usually just give out bags of chips and chocolate bars.

Karen: I have a younger cousin who is travelling with us, Jennifer is 15 1/2 yrs, but very mature for her age (one of the reasons she is travelling with us sans parents). She is in New Brunswick now with cadets but will be home in 2 weeks. If you daugther would be interested in e-mailing her, just PM me.

I don't know why my mum's so worried, all she needs to do is bribe me with a coffee and slice of cake and I'll be home faster than you can say starbucks. Or a disney holiday for that matter!

I really would love to get in touch with someone before this cruise, as great as it's bound to be anyway, it really would be perfect if I didn't have to brave the stack! It's just not for me.

Dena - I can't wait to see Emily, my mum was showing me photos and she's just so cute! I guess if she's my mum's honorary niece then she's my honorary cousin.

Hi everyone!
I've been lurking a bit but haven't had time to post. But I'm working this week so I'm able to check the boards more than if I'm at home!

Dena, Emily just sounds precious! I envy you having a newborn; they are so sweet at that age! Belated congratulations on her birth! You must be having so much fun with her!

Mike, I had to laugh at your disclaimer re no massages on the Magic! When I was reading your post, that did occur to me and then I saw your "no work, on vacation" comment! Anyway, best of luck starting up!

Re Halloween, I was planning to give out candy, pencils and some Canada balloons. I wasn't sure about the balloons; does anyone know if there are any issues with balloons on the ship? I'm not familiar with Oriental Trading so we may be the only ones who won't be giving out their stuff!

Off to Mexico on Saturday for a week! I'm going with the kids and my sister to stay at an all-inclusive called the RIU Playacar in Playa Del Carmen. Too bad, DH has to work. It's our first stay in Mexio so we're all very excited! The cruise is still the "BIG" holiday though!

Take care, everyone! Lynda

I have been apart of this event aboard the Magic for a few years now. So I'll be honest with you. My DD doesn't care what's in her bag. Her fun is in the actually event itself. I believe this true for most of the children.

So please don't stress yourselves over the goodies bags.

Also, please keep in mind when purchasing treats, packing them. Are they going to be a pain in the tussy for you to bring? If so then they are going to be as much of a pain for someone else to take home. So, I'm asking that you keep your treats small or edible.
We'll have all our excursion days ahead of us, indivdual snack treats are perfect treats to take along. Fruit rolls up, rice crispy treat, goldfish, gummi bears, single candy bars etc....

Hello everyone: I finally got my counter!!! Took awhile. I just want to Thank everyone here that tried to help me. I had to go over to the Tech Board and plead for help. They were great. Seems that our pop-up stopper was stopping me.

Hi Lynda: Hope you are out o the range of the bad weather. I think rain is headed over FL, in the Gulf Coast.

Re Halloween: I have picked out small items from Orential Trading that I think MY children would like. Not too much, but some cool things. I like the idea of fruit roll ups, and gummy bears, but was thinking golfish, chips, pretzels would get smashed. I'm not stressing cause I know they all just enjoy going around and T or Ting. I think that's the most fun. My DS, 15, wants to decorate his room. I know he'll do a good job because he decorates at home. It is his favorite holiday.

Kelly: My DS will PM you for your DD, if that is okay with you.

Emma: He'll PM you too, although since this is our 1st cruise he may want to check out the stack.

Hope everyone has a good day.

It is expected to even <I>possibly</I> hit central FL (Yes, that includes Orlando!) as a Category 1 (or even <I>maybe</I> Cat 2 if land doesn't slow it down) hurricane this weekend. Even in Daytona Beach, people are flocking to the stores buying out the water, batteries, candles, canned goods and such. It seems "two at once" for tropical storms/hurricanes is a first here. Of course, weather is SO unpredictable around here that it may not get here at all (keeping fingers crossed!).

Orlando/WDW has not had a "hurricane scare" since fall of 1999.

KAREN: I talked to Brendan and he now will be going on the cruise. He was stressing over how much money it was going to cost him and of course I caved in and told him not to worry about the money.

LYNDA: Thank you for the congrats. Yes, I am totally enjoying Emilyprincess: I had wanted another baby for quite a few years, and still can't believe she is here! Have a GREAT time in Mexico.:smooth:

MICHELLE: YEA for you on your counter!! I have been trying to figure out how to post a picture, but still cant figure it out:bitelip:

We are just waiting to see what Charley is going to do to us. As of this afternoon, we have had rain and have been under a tornado watch for the past 2 hours.:umbrella:

Hey, Dena, that's what mums are for! You have made 3 boys happy anyway - one of yours and two of mine!

Keeping our fingers crossed that Charley doesn't give you too much grief.

All the school districts in Central FL are closed today due to the tropical storm/hurricane expected.

This was the official word from WDW this morning - -

<B>Hurricane Preparedness Message</B>

From the Walt Disney World® Resort

Friday, August 13, 7 a.m.

Based on information from the National Weather Service and emergency preparedness officials, Walt Disney World theme parks except Disney's Animal Kingdom will be open from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. today. Blizzard Beach will be open from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Typhoon Lagoon and Downtown Disney will be closed for the day.

An abbreviated schedule will provide entertainment for the tens of thousands of Resort guests staying on Walt Disney World property. Local residents and off-site guests are encouraged to reschedule their theme park visits until the inclement weather passes.

All Walt Disney World Resort hotels will remain open throughout the storm. Guests staying at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort & Campground have been relocated to other hotels on property.

The Walt Disney World Resort has an extensive hurricane preparedness plan, and is staffed and prepared for a realm of possible impacts this type weather could have across property.

A temporary cancellation and "No Show" policy has been adopted for travel agents who have booked reservations through Walt Disney World or the Walt Disney Travel Company (agents that have booked through another tour operator should contact that company for its specific cancellation policy).

"No Show" penalties will be waived for any Guest arrivals between Aug. 11, 2004 and Aug. 15, 2004. Clients impacted by these storms can have their reservation rebooked for another time period and apply the existing deposit/payment, or cancel and have the deposit/payment fully refunded.

The Disney Reservation Center (DRC) will be available from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. to book or modify package and room-only reservations but will not be taking dining, recreation or golf reservations. DRC will return to normal operating hours on Saturday from 7 a.m.- 11 p.m.

Disney Cruise Line is operating as scheduled.

I am so excited because I finally am ready to make my final payment either today or Monday. I might wait until monday because my travel agent is on vacation and won't be back until next week. I want to make sure everything is set.

I found cute mickey, goofy, donald, and minney keychains at the dollar store. I have been buying a few at a time so I wouldn't get hit with a $35 bill. I am going to put them in the treat bags with some snack item and a little bit of candy. Kids get so much candy on halloween that I try to give something healthy and fun as well.

Ginger do you know if there is going to be any babies t & ting? I guess I could check your list. It has everyone on it that I had listed on mine. I am going to try and make the babies an age appropriate treat bag. Maybe a bendable toy, rattle, extra bib, ect.

The boys are getting ready for school, they start back on August 26th, which will be the first day of my summer vacation:rotfl:
They will actually miss 5 days of school because we are going to be heading down on the 29th of Oct. and then they have off for election day. Our schools are used for the polls( only in West Virginia) Don't forget to absentee vote since we will be in St. Marten on Election Day!!!

Have a great day!

JUDI: I have a daughter who will be 8 months at time of sailing. She will be dressed up in costume, but I wasn't including her in the TorT count, because she doesnt need candy. But count her in for the baby TorT bag.:p

Still no rain here!

Hello everyone!!

Our internet was down most of the day. DH thinks it might be the cable modem. Hope that was what he said. What do I know, all I do is chat to all of you!!!::yes:: I was in withdraw though. LOL.

Dena: Hope all of you make out okay with Charley. Your in our thoughts.

Karen and Dena: My DH would LOVE to enjoy a beer with your DH's, and I would LOVE to enjoy a cocktail or 2 with all of you. How does everyone meet up anyway? When we get closer do we decide on where?

How does the T or T thing work anyway? Questions, questions. Sorry for all them.

It's sunny here in NJ right now. They are calling for rain down the shore, but since we are about 50 miles from the shore I don't know what we'll get.

Shari: Is Ft Wilderness Resort in the path of Charley, or is it because of the trailers? And when did the kids in FL go back to school? We don't go back til Sept 7.

Hope everyone is okay with this storm.

Keep us posted.

Hi all:wave, well I guess by now WDW is closed and the storm is hitting the area pretty hard. Dena and Shari hang in there. It's suppose to hit here around noon tomorrow. Figures, that's when I hit the streets with my load of cluster box mail.

Lynda, have a great time in Mexico I hear that Playa Del Carmen is great. I would love to hear about it, we were looking into it before DCL came up with the Repo cruise.

Dena, it won't be long now before Emily is up and running if she doing the butt wiggle, that's so cute. I can't wait to see her.

Good morning everyone. We are safe and sound here:sunny:

Charley hit about 80 miles north of us, so we just got some rain and some winds. But thats about it. My cousin and his family who live in Ft Myers had some damage to their home, but thankfully they are safe too.:upsidedow

Michelle: In our county, the kids go back to school on Monday. As far as getting together for drinks, we can set something up onboard, by calling each others staterooms.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the board and I hope I'm doing this right.
We are going on the 10-30-04 Magic cruise. This is our first Disney Cruise. I'm traveling with my DH and 3 DD's ages 12, 9, and 7. We are interested in being part of the state room T&Ting. The kids and I would love to chat with fellow cruisers before the cruise. :chat:

Also, if anyone has any tips or advice for us that would be great. Do I need to sign up somewhere for the T&Ting?

Oh!!! Dena I'm so glad you all are alright, I was worried.

Shari how are things in your neighborhood?????

Yesterday was actually a pretty good day here. The rain held off until late evening.

Welcome Goofymom67, Becky if you could send me your info by PM or email, stateroom number, childrens first names along with their ages, I'll sign you up for the T-or-T. Also, if you have main dining or late, I'll pass along your info to "taswira" so your family can be place on our who's going list.

I'd like to be signed up for that drink with the girls.

Judi, I think I have a few babies posted on the list. I'll bring it forward. Thanks for the voting reminder.

Our children go back to school on the 30th. I feel bad, we haven't take any trips this summer with Ashley. With work and working on the house we just haven't had any time. I glad we have the cruise to look forward to.

I've been slacking on my diet lately got to get it started again or sailing in MooMoo dresses.

I finally booked our air fare! We are going to be flying Air Tran which I have been told is a new small company. They have new Boeing 717 and 737's so at least we will have a nice plance. The only thing that worries me is that since we went with the discount price (total $215/person) we can't get seat assignments until 24 hours in advance. They did say that they would make sure my youngest TJ would sit with a parent but the other DS and DH might not get together. Just have to wait and see. Our total fare for the 4 of us was $860 from Pittsburgh to Orlando on Friday the 29th. That has been the best I have seen. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront friday night. We were able to get 2 rooms at $40 apiece. We thought about the Radison but since we would have needed to get a suite for $153/night I figured we would save over $70. I am going to try priceline for the following Sat when we get back. We are not flying back until Sunday morning so I want to stay near the airport the night before so I don't have to get up too early. We have to check in by 7:30 for our 9 am flight.

I am trying to get stuff ready now because come october I will be busy with the boys and planning TJ's early Birthday party.

Has anyone got their costumes yet for the cruise? Our neighbors have a big Halloween party and I thought we would miss it, but they are holding it on Oct. 23 so we will be able to attend. Still trying to find something that will pack easy.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Dena and Shari: Glad you guys are alright. I've been reading the boards and some of the DIS family have been hit. Hoping everything is okay whith all of them.

Shari: What do you know about the Magic on Sat? I read that some of the cruisers will have to pick the ship up in Key West, at a cost to Disney of $200. per person.

Welcome Goofymom67: This is our 1st cruise with Disney also. I have a DD 11 that would love to email someone before the cruise and get to know them. You can PM us if you would like the girls to chat with one another.

I can't believe we have 39 T or Ters. I was only planning for 48. Hope we don't go over that. Ginger, how many have you had in the past?

Judi: You got a great deal on airfare!! I booked when flights first came out and got the same price for our family of 5. We are with USAir, and I'm hoping they don't go under before we leave.

That's about it for now. Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi Everyone Hope everonefaired well in the storm.
I noticed that the tropical night has been changed to Pirate night.
Of course that is the one night that I have outfits for everyon. Do you think anyone will still wear tropical. If I put an eye patch on can I be tropical pirate? LOL
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
If anyone has a dd 8 or 9 my dds would love to begin correspondig with them. Send me their email addresss.

Well I have got tropical gear as well and I think I'm going to wear it regardless. Not sure quite what I'd wear as a pirate anyway and coming from the UK, packing space will be at a premium. If I look like a fool it won't be the first or last time (Emma, darling, no comment is necessary at this point).

I'm back online! They restored power and phone service to the <i>Fly-In Community</i> a couple of hours ago! :) I guess some of those "biggies" in the neighborhood must have wielded their clout, because Target and WalMart here are on generators, there are some signal lights out, and much of the area is still without power. They had projected 5 to 7 days outage for here, so I was about to go crazy over the prospect.

My mom and I drove around the community and there are <i>hoards</i> of downed trees and debris everywhere, in yards, on the roads and all over the golf course. We did not check out the airport area but I imagine it is a mess also. A big tree in our front yard is in the road, as are many on this street, so we think a tornado may have taken this path. An oak tree in our back yard is uprooted but can probably be saved. Around the block, where there are some VERY expensive homes, someone's screened-in lanai area is in a shambles. The storm took the entire big screened structure to the ground and I think also broke a big glass door, whereas nothing at the houses on either side was damaged.

This was a bit scary! My mother spent almost the whole time in her "safe room" walk-in closet. I, being curious about it all, kept <i>occasionally</i> peering out the blinds on my bedroom window until the power went out. All I can say in summary is "WOW!" And this was only a category 1 or 2 when it hit here, although apparently we did experience the eye and a tornado or two. I know this storm was even worse in Orlando.

My long-distance hubby just told me (since I have not yet heard any news and just now got online) that "<i>Hurricane Earl</i>" may take the same route if it does not decide to turn to Mexico, Texas, etc. Oh, no! Let's hope for a longer break between hurricanes!

As soon as I get myself re-organized (by tomorrow at the latest as long as the power holds), I will go through recent posts here and add anyone new to the Cruiser List and the T-or-T list that is on the website. Sorry for the delay.

Hi everyone,

Glad to hear everyone is OK and that there is only minimum damage done. We are very fortunate here that we never had to experience hurricanes, tornados or any other weather fathom other than snow and lots of it!

I have started gathering together all the things I think we'll need (from reading these forums). I expect the way things are going I'm going to need a bus!!! Just kidding, I know unpack 50%. I just tell the husband, what I don't have I'll buy!!!

dis4me - How did you find out tropical night is changed to Pirate night? And is there any info about what night formal night is changed to?

Many people were in tropical not many pirates but they gave them red do rag type things and had a new menu or something. I had her ask about halloween and he said we probably won't know unil we get onboard.:(

About Ft. Wilderness - Yes, all of Orlando and vicinity experienced Hurricane Charley in varying degrees. I do not know if Ft. Wilderness suffered any damage, but all trailers obviously had to evacuate.

Hi Everyone,
My Hubby and I are getting very excited about our cruise. WE are also planning on staying at the Raddisson Friday night before the cruise. We might even take the shuttle and leave our car parked at the Raddisson. Has anyone here done that yet? I just want to make sure it isn't a hassle and that we aren't waiting around when we get back to be picked up. We are planning on decorating our room and door for Halloween. I think I am going tp make up TREAT BAGS to pass out. I guess we will have a final number a week or so before the cruise. I don't want to leave anyone out. I guess I will make a treat bag for our room steward and servers too. Hope everyone is doing good.

Teri: We have stayed at the Rad for the past two years and are doing it again this year. You counted right Ginger, Wow 46 kids. I wonder if we will hit the 50 mark by the time the cruse starts. I guess I better get some more key chains, I have 35 so far. I made the final payment today, and Disney reminded me that we can start making reservations for excursion starting Aug.31. Yeah!!!:cheer2:

I also got my rooms for Nov. 6, I wanted to stay near the airport but could get a good deal. So I expanded my area to Universal area and was able to get 2 rooms at the Wyndham Orlando International Drive hotel. Each room at $40 for a total of $96.78. Is this a good deal for this hotel? Has anyone ever stayed here? As long as it got clean rooms and a pool. I figured we could always go to City Walk and spend some time over there.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront on Friday night. I saw there has been a post on the Cruise forum about this hotel. I hope we get good rooms, since we only paid $39 for each one. Again as long as it is clean I will be happy. We get in to Orlando around 2, so by the time we get to Cocco Beach it should be around 3:30-4pm. We might go to Grills Seafood Deck and Tikki Bar for Dinner. Is this a good idea? I also have to pick up a birthday cake for TJ, so I guess I will be stopping at the local grocery store. Do they sell wine in the grocery store? They so here in WV so I am so used to just having to go to one store.

Will I have a problem taking the cake on the boat or should I just call Shirley and ask her to have one with TJ's gift bag? It's just going to be a small one since he get's one from Disney as well.

Ginger, WOW!!! I can't believe we are up to 46 trick or treaters.

Michelle, sounds like your tomato plants are doing good. We only have 2 tomato plants planted and have had maybe 5 tomatoes so far.

Dena, Thanks for the Raddisson info. This will be our 5th Disney cruise, but we have never stayed at the Raddisson before. I figure I would like to save the extra $$$ for parking. Hey it should almost pay for my room.

Hi All Past Cruisers,

As you are aware there are only 11 days until we get to book our excursions....and I need some advice!!!!

For our stop in St. Marteen, I have decided not to book anything as we would rather experience some of the local festivals and events oncurring that day.

Here is were I need some advice, has anyone done the Atlantis Submarine Adventure?? I think it sounds great, but would like some fed back!

Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Kelly

We did the semi sub in Grand Cayman because our son was not old enough to do teh Atlantis sub. We really enjoed it and actually could see a lot of sea life. If you want to do something other that the beach I would say this is a good choice.

Judi, how are you all traveling from the airport? Are you renting a car? If so what are you going to do with it while your on the ship, I hope turning it in instead of paying $70. for parking. Does the Holiday Inn offer free shuttle service to and from the port? One of the reason we stay at the Radisson is because they let you park your vehicle for free while on the cruise and they also have free shuttle service to and from the ship. Plus, if you book the cruise package breakfast is included.
I personally don't think bringing a cake aboard the ship is a good idea, not even sure if it would be allowed. They have cakes for birthday and special occassion. If you need it for Saturday nights put your request into Guest Services also see your HEAD SERVER, this is one of his jobs.
My DH goes deep sea fishing from The Grill, they leave in the A.M. and I pick him up around 4:30 P.M.. I've got to tell you that place is packed when I come to get him. They must put on one heck of a Happy Hour on Fridays. So if you go there be prepared to wait.

Kelly, wish I could help with your Sub questions, but we've never done it. A bit too costly for us.

Dena, how's about some choc. covered bananas and grapes too.

Well, gotta go for now, dinner is ready. DH cooked tonight cuz I had to work today and he didn't.:teeth:

Ginger, we are renting a car for Friday from Budget and will return it in the morning. My DH will drop us off at the terminal and then go and drop the car off. We got a good rate for a SUV from Budget for friday to saturday morning. I called Shirley about adding a cake with TJ's Birthday bucket and she said that would be no problem. I figured it might cost a little more but then I wouldn't have the headache of bringing one on. I don't think we are going to go the grill for dinner, we might try and go to Kennedy Space center for an hour or two. My DH really wants to see it so I figured that was plenty of time for the two rugrats(my DS's) to stay attentive. So we will probable just grabs some sandwiches and hang out at the pool that night. Don't want to do anything stressfull.

We had a stressfull night yesterday. Storms came through while we were at dinner for our son's 13th Birthday. Came home to no power. Electric finally came on at 11:30pm, but the cable was out till 2:00pm today. Those boys were driving me crazy without their cable. Thank goodness they start school on Thursday.:bounce:

Well I'll check back later, see ya!

We finally booked a room at the Raddisson for Friday night. We rented the jacuzzi suite with breakfast for 2.

Ginger is the breakfast buffet a real breakfast with eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. or is it just danishes and cereals like most Hampton Inn's provide. Not really important, just curious.

I think we are just going to shop some in St. Martin and maybe go to the beach. St. Thomas we are either going to Meagans Beach or Coral World. WE have been to both places before, but haven't done these things.

Hello everyone, Good Monday morning!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Alot going on this past weekend. Party at the swim club, soccer practice, DH away on a golf trip, Grandmom here to stay for a couple days and birthday party on Sunday. We got so much rain on Sat., no winds but alot of rain. Alot of people at the swim club decided to go into the pool, why not they were already soaked.

Ginger: Can you tell me how many children under the age of 2. I only ordered enough for 48 children and have 1 more day to order with free shipping.

Does anyone know what time and the phone # to book the excursions? I thought I saw it on the main board, but can't find it now. Please correct me once more, the day we book is Aug 31st. Right!!::yes:: I'm getting so nervous. I really want to do a couple of things. I never got a book from DCL concerning any of this info.

Teri: I have enough tomatoes for everyone. We have about 15-18 plants of different kinds. Those little cherry one keep coming. Sooo many!! Very good. I don't use chemicals so some years I lose plants., but not this year!! I also grew a pumpkin. Shame I can't take it on the cruise, not that I think it will last that long, but it would be fun.

Karen: I see your DD and my DS have been Iming each other. I think it's great. We are learning so much about the UK by them just chatting.

Well, I have to go. We are going the the Franklin Institute today with my mom to see the Titantic exhibit. I'll let you know how it was.

Have a good day. :earsgirl: :sunny:  :earsgirl: :sunny:

Since the number of children has grown to such a large group I think that we should make the closing date October 1, 12 a.m.. I will post the finally list for printing on Oct. 3.
So if your lurking or still thinking about it, it's time to post here, PM me or emailed me with your request.
I will not be accepting anyone after the closing date, no acception.

The closing date of Oct. 1, should give everyone who is participating time to prepare for this event.

Cool! I have a PS for 5:05pm at LTT - for 2 people, but with my airline pilot nephew being the other person, it's always iffy with his schedule. So if you see a solo <I>Gadget Hackwrench</I> (my outfit for the party) at LTT, it just might be me! :teeth:

But then, if Michael (nephew) doesn't make it, I suppose I could offer up the extra spot if there is another solo around seeking dinner at LTT. Perhaps I should post around just in case.

Ashley and I may, not for sure, drive to Downtown Disney from the Cape on Friday to do a little shopping and lunch. DH will be doing his fishing thing. BTW anyone interested in going fishing with him send me a PM or email and I'll send you all the details. He goes out on a Headboat at the Grill. It's an all day trip, they provide breakfast, lunch and drinks(sodas and water), all the fishing equipment.

Hi everyone!
Arrived home on Saturday from a wonderful holiday in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! And thank goodness, we didn't get hit by that tropical storm Earl! And I was very relieved to hear that our fellow passengers from Florida are doing alright after the storms! Isn't it awful how there were so many storms at the same time?

We stayed at the RIU Playacar and it was fabulous! All-inclusive and a beautiful beach and pool area! Food was delicious! My kids loved getting pop from the swim-up bar! It was very hot but with the cold summer we've had up here, it was nice to feel some heat! We swam with the dolphins at Xcaret and it was excellent!

I'm watching my weight too, especially after a week at an all-inclusive! I kept reminding myself that I'll be spending a lot of time in a bathing suit in 2 months! I've lost 10 pounds since March since I joined Curves and I don't want to gain it all back! I bought this dress for Tropical night and it was so tight, so that was my main motivation to lose those extra pounds! And now I read that we might not have tropical night but pirate night! Oh well, I might still wear the same dress but with a pirates hat like someone else suggested.

Hard to believe August is almost over and as hard as it is to realize that the summer has sped by, at least, the cruise is that much closer!

It was a great holiday but it's good to be back! And it was great catching up on all the posts here!

Yes, last year the group I led missed 1 room, my fault, there was to many last minute changes and I couldn't keep up.. I'm going to work hard on that not happening this year.

This year we're going to have a check-in sheet. Also no last minute bringing your goodies to the lobby. If you know you're not going to be in your stateroom because you'd rather go to Bingo, that's fine, but let me know before 9:30 a.m.
I try to work it so it only takes an hour for all the children to hit all the rooms. I do this by breaking down the large group into many smaller groups, having each group start on a different deck working their way to all. Looking at this years count I would say that we'll have at least 3 groups, if not 4. I will take one group, my DH has agree to take another, we'll need 2 more leaders. Do we have any volunteers?
Also parents are welcome to come along, we will give you time to get to your stateroom before we come knocking.

We really haven't decided on a time. Knowing that Sunday is a character breakfast morning and second seating for that is 9:45a.m., how would 11:00 a.m. be for everyone? We'll all gather at the Atrium Lobby at 11:00 a.m. check-in with me, take pictures, gather the children into groups with a leader and get them started on their hunt for staterooms by no later than 11:20 a.m.. I'll have the maps made so children return to the Atrium Lobby, where you can meet them if your not along with us. I'm also going to be handing out paper signs to be placed on your stateroom doors. I'll have them on me during check-in at the port. If you miss me there come by my stateroom I'll have them, somehow, in my fishes mouth, take one and place it on you door before the T-orT we'll be looking for them.

Please make sure that you print the finally copy of the list. It will have all this information and any updates on it. Look for that on Oct 3.

Ginger, I will be glad to also take a group of children. My DH and stay in the stateroom and hand out the goodies. Just like at home, Mom takes the kids while dad hangs out at home sitting on the couch watching tv and occasionally getting up to give out candy. Such a hard life.:rotfl:

Also I found some cute wooden sail boats at Micheal's that I thought about painting with the DIS Logo and then placing a magnet on the back. I would have enough to put on all of the doors the night before. The kids could use it to find the right doors and then they can take it home as a little something to remind them of their trip. We could put them with your signs. If you want we can get together Saturday night or Sunday morning. I have nothing planned and I know my boys would love to go around and put them on the doors. Just let me know. I will also make a couple extra ones just encase they go a missing before the t and t.

I think we found our costumes for our party and the trip. I found a Adult Buzz Lightyear for DH but I don't think he would look to good in a Body Suit.:scared1: So I think we might go as a Hillbilly Bride and Groom. Since we are from WEST VIRGINIA I think this would be appropriate.LOL. The boys had blow up costumes last year and want to do that again if we can find them. TJ was a parrot and Alan was a Sumo wrestler.

Can't wait to get on the boat!!! Have a great day.

Everyone's costume ideas sound sooo cute. I am not sure if Hubby and I will dress up in costume or not. I am definetly going to decorate my stateroom for Halloween and my door. I bought a Disney "Halloween in a box" and it has such cute things in it. I gues I will start looking for ideas when all the Halloween stuff comes out. That would also be a great time to buy Pirate stuff for "Pirate Night". Maybe I will have hubby be a pirate pirate: That would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Thanks All,
Judi, that's alot of little boats, thank you.

Last year Halloween fell on Thursday, Semi-Formal night I saw some people dressed in costume.

Ashley and I hit the Dollar store yesterday looking for Halloween stuff for decorating our stateroom, no luck thou. Maybe in 2 weeks after the school supplies disappear.

Did I tell you all about our tag along child we had last year. It was so funny, her parent thought we were part of DCL's T-or-T, so they just came along with us from door to door. At the end of the hunt they came to me a little embarrassed telling me that they were not part of our group. But their DD was having such a good time they didn't have the heart to pull her out of it. I had to laugh, what else could I do. They thanked me over and again, even offered to pay. I could only say that I was glad she had such a good time.

Lynda, I would love to get with you for a few minutes, I want to hear more about your vacation to Playa Del Carmen. DH and I have been looking into all-inclusives for maybe next year.

Well I'm off to clean the pool today, got a little algae problem going on. The joys of owning your own.

They had a seafood stirfry one night (scallops, shrimp, mussels and noodles; it was delicious). They served grouper, squid, salmon and red snapper too on different nights. My kids were happy with the different kinds of pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs and great fries (these were the best fries I had ever eaten; crisp, flavourful and not greasy!). They also served a variety of pastas and meats like ham and roast beef. Everything tasted great and cooked just right. Desserts were good, not excellent, but then I'm not a big dessert person.

The rooms were very spacious. The washroom area was huge, and had separate areas for the shower, toilet and sink areas so three people could be in there at one time. The resort itself was beautiful! Lovely landscaping, lots of palm trees for shade and the beach was incredible (white sand, turquoise water).

Ginger, anytime you want to get together, that would be great! We'll arrange a time when we see each other on the ship. The Halloween arrangements sound great too! I think the signs and sailboats sound awesome! I can take a group of children around too if you need me because I'll probably accompany my kids anyway. Just wanted to clarify something; the treats in the lobby, are those for the folks who won't be in their staterooms to hand things out?

Re costumes, I'm probably going to go dressed as a clown but my DH won't dress up; he's too reserved for that! He doesn't even like wearing a tropical shirt!

Our family of four will be sailing at Halloween also. Group includes Myself (Bob), Wife (Debbie), Son (Josh) 11 and Daughter (Kate) 9. This will be our third Disney Cruise and our second Halloween Disney Cruise. I had responded to Ginger on another thread and I think she was going to add us to the TorT list but if not please count us in. I know that we are on deck 7 but not sure what the actual room number is, I will have to follow-up with that later.

Thanks

Welcome, Bob! I'm sure Ginger will see your post.

I added you to the <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/list.html">Cruiser List</A></B> on the <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/">Halloween Magic 2004</A></B> website. I also put you on the website's <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/103004/tortlist.html">Trick or Treat Participation List</A></B> page and updated the DIS Trick-or-Treat thread of the separate <B><a href="http://halloweenmagic.proboards33.com/index.cgi">Halloween Magic message board</A></B>. So as soon as Ginger adds you to her list, you should be all set. :teeth:

Hey everybody! Sounds like things are well underway for our Magic-al cruise. Sorry I haven't stopped in sooner, but I've been trying to get things ready to go for our Sept cruise. Now we just have to pack. :scared:

Ginger, thanks again for organizing the T or T'ing. If you would like help with door signs or lists or maps, let me know. I love to play on the computer.

Judi, same about the ships, I wouldn't mind helping (by my count it's 29 rooms so far). I'll have to check Michael's.

Re costumes: Sammi has decided on Kim Possible. The cheerleader Kim, so Diane is making her a Middleton Maddogs uniform. Should be quite sparkly. I can't decide, on the one hand I'm thinking Maleficient (she's my favorite villian) but then I have to shave the goatee (which Diane would love). On the other I've been thinking Capt. Jack Sparrow, cause then I wouldn't have to shave at all that day. :teeth: Decisions, decisions. Not sure at all about Diane yet. I'm sure she'll come up with something good.

Hope everyone has a great day, be safe.

Welcome Aboard Bob, I was waiting to hear from you. Bill and I got out the pictures the other night. I have them of our group having dinner. For those who weren't there, we (21 of us) connected our reservations so that we would be dining together. Boy, I bet those waiters were glad when that trip was over. That was a great cruise, most of all a great group of people.

Lynda, I just don't want people coming up to me in the lobby at 11:00 a.m. saying, OH!!!! don't let the children come to my room cause we won't be there. That's what happened last year.
If someone wants to come to the lobby and handout their goodies, that's fine by me, just let me know ahead of time, by 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning by phoning me at stateroom 2052, so I can remove their stateroom number from the list.

BTW- everyone new cruisers the Daily Navigators are placed in your staterooms in the evening so you can plan your next days activies. You can also pick one up at Guest Services.

Thanks to everyone offering to lead a group, I'll let you know.

Ginger, I don't know if you got my email or not, but I already ordered the stuff from OT yesterday. Also, if there is anything you need me to help you with concerning TorTing, let me know.

We are not sure about costumes yet here. DH does not like to dress up at all.
LYNDA: your DH sounds alot like mine when it comes to dressing up. Or should I say not dressing up.:p

I would like to dress Emily as a fairly, maybe tinkerbell. I am keeping my eyes open for a costume small enough for her. If she goes as tinkerbell, Ashley wants to be captain hook.pirate:

Well, I hear Emily waking from her nap. Have a great evening everyone.

HI Everyone,

Just one quick question ... has anyone stayed at either of these holtels (what are they like?)..HIlton Oceanfront, DoubleTree Oceanfront or the Hampton Inn? DH has enough HiltonHonors points for one free night at either of these hotels. But since we have never been, looking for opinions!!!:hyper:

Ginger: Great job on the organizing!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
If you need another volunteer, count me in too!!

Re: Costumes...I think i'll dress DH as a pirate pirate:. Definitely kills two birds with one stone. Ryan wants to be Stitch this week, last week it was an army man and the week before it was Spiderman. Got to love 4 year olds!!::yes:: Jennifer and I don't know what to be!! I haven't dressed up for halloween in at least ten years or more!

So many decisions, SO little time!

It's Emma, I'm posting on my mum's name because my computer's all the way upstairs and if I log on I'll get bombarded by people on msn worrying about results. I'm waiting for my results of my exams (I can go and get them at 10am so 45 minutes!). I tried to log in as me on this computer but it didn't seem to want to let me which bodes well for my IT result!

Anyway, Dena, Emily would look so cute as Tinkerbell! I'd better not tell my friends though because a couple of them would be over in my suitcase to kidnap her in a shot! That's always my favourite part of Halloween - seeing all the little kids dressed up!

Here's a photo of me in my costume. I can't wait to wear it again!

Good Morning everyone!!

Emma, You got great marks on your exams!!!:Pinkbounc I'll let Andrew know you were on. BTW, your costume looks great!

Jaypd: I think you should lean toward being the pirate. I know my DH would rather NOT shave for 1 day. It adds to the flare of the costume.

Kelly: I know what you mean about dressing up. I'm not one for thinking of things. Plus I don't want to take up room in my suitcase. Might need another pair of shoes!! Sounds like your DS will change his mind a few times before the cruise. Is it your neice that you are taking? I thought that's what you had said. My DS 15, was wondering.

Welcome Bob and Family: We are a family of 5. DS 15, DS 13 and DD 11. I'm sure the kids will meet in the clubs.

Lynda: Sounds like you trip was great. The food sounds wonderful. Can almost taste those fries!!::yes:: I DO like desserts, maybe that's why I need to get myself to the gym.

So I better get myself moving. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Judi: Your idea about the boats sounds great!! I collect magnets, and my frig is covered. Can't wait to add another. I'll have to move things around before I go so I have room on it when I get back!! Thanks, again.

I am in the process to downloading some more pictures of Em on my computer, I will send them to you either later today or tomorrow.

Karen: My sisters and I were going to dress as the 3 good fairies from sleeping beauty for MNNSHP, and if we do that, I will just take that costume on the cruise.princess:

WELCOME BOB AND FAMILY!

JAYPD: Emily will be 8 months at time of sailing. Where is the costume place? Online? I just realized you live in Bohemia. I was born and raised in Long Island. I have lived in Coram, Middle Island, Selden, Ronkonkoma and my last home up there was in Holbrook. My last job as well as my DH was in Bohemia. Now we have been in FL for 9 years.:teeth:

Hi everyone!

Emma, just wanted to say congratulations on those great marks! I'm still amazed at how many exams you had to write! And have a great trip to China! Boy, that's a once in a lifetime opportunity! I think we're at MNSSHP the same day (Oct 26) so I'll look out for you in your costume! You look great in it!

Michelle, my sister and I thought it was kind of funny that with all the delicious food around us at the all-inclusive, the fries really stood out! But it's so hard to find good fries these days that I was really paying them a compliment when I raved about the fries! I seem to remember that the fries were very good on the Wonder so I'm sure the Magic will be the same!

Dena, hope the shots went okay with Emily! That's one thing I'm so grateful for now that my kids are older and that's that the kids don't have any more shots until they're 15. Although they had to take a Hepatitis A shot for Mexico and they were very put out about that!

I find I'm waking up thinking about what clothes I want to take on the cruise! The summer sped by so quickly so I know it'll be Oct 30 before I know it! Have a great day, everyone!

I am a respiratory therapist and work in the PICU at my hospital if you give Emily a little pediatric ibuprofin about an hour before her shots it seems to help.

Re costumes: We were considering dressing as pirates since we will be a family of 8, but my mom and sister have these great fairy godmother costumes from two years ago at MNSSHP so we may bust those out if we can convince my DN Gabby to go as Sleeping Beauty.

Emma way to go on those exams.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips I read the boards addictively every day (ok more than once a day) and it seems to just fuel the fire and I am more and more excited about the trip.

By the way we gave my DS a puppy for his birthday and Sir Disney graduated from puupy school last night. My DS was one very proud daddy. He is a 5 month old black Cocker Spaniel and they are so cute together.

For those of you that have been on DCL Halloween cruises, what other things do they do for Halloween?

We are having our own T or T, but what does Disney do?

How long do you think our T or T will last? Do we do this in the morning or afternoon?

Sorry for all the ??, just starting to think of more details.

Hi everyone!!

Count us in too! We had booked this cruise quite some time ago when the rates first came out, but for the last several months we were almost certain we would have to cancel. But luck was on our side, we found some great airfare and were able to come up with the money at the last minute so we are definitely coming now. Woo-hoo!!

I'd love to sign the kids up for the Trick or Treating, they are so excited for this! My daughter Melanie is 11 and will be Cruella de Vill, and my son Jake is 9 and is going to be Captain Jack Sparrow. We're still working on the adult costumes but are definitely going to dress up, we LOVE Halloween! We will be in Stateroom 6556.

Thanks Ginger for putting this all together, it sounds like it will really be wonderful!

Michelle, DCL has a trick or treat but it seemed very crowded and disorganised last year and I don't think they were giving away much candy.

Looking at 1 1/2 hours, tops.
I'm moving this forward for those who haven't read it.

Hi Everyone,

Re: Formal Night

I was speaking to DCL Friday and asked if anyone knew what night "formal night" was being held...her answer was to inform me that "they do not know..you'll find out when you board the ship and look at your navigator."

I hope that it means that it will be going ahead, just one another night. Even though I do not have my dress yet and I'm starting to hate shopping for it (this is a major for a "shopaholic"- my husband's word, not mine) But I have a dress for Jennifer, DH has his suit and DS is getting his just prior to going (little worried of buying too early and him growing out of it):(

Emma: Congrats on the marks...Jennifer will be e-mailing sometime this week...having problems with her e-mail, yet again!!

Dena: Happy to hear Emily did so great with her needle!!!

KEH: Sorry, I don't know your name. If it's not too personal
I have noticed lately that you have a purple ribbon saying "For Sophie"... I was wondering if this was for someone close to you?

Ginger: 11:00 sounds great to me!!! fantastic job one again!!

See you on board,

KEH

Hi Kelly,

The purple ribbon is for a little girl called Sophie who is one of the granddaughters of EmmasGrammy who often posts on the cruise board. Her daughter and other granddaughter, Emma, died in a fire last week and a number of us on the boards are displaying the purple ribbon in support of baby Sophie who was injured and is fighting for her life in hospital. The main threads about this are on the cruise board - sorry I'm not sure how to post the links. Look for a thread titled "An indescribable tragedy".

This story just about breaks your heart and I haven't been able to get it put of my mind since it happened. Showing the ribbon just seemed like a way to show I was thinking about them.

I'm assuming since T & Ting is at 11am that everyone wears their costumes to breakfast, is that right? then does everyone stay in their costumes all day?

How do we add the purple ribbon for sophie?

I found a dress today for Formal night. I have never had a formal gown, since I didn't get to go to my prom in High school 16yrs ago. and I have been on 4 cruises and never bought a fancy dress. So today I went David's Bridal here in Pa and found a ballgown for $49.99 and then got shoes that are going to be dyed to match. Both cost me about $105. Now that I got a dress how do I pack it so that it doesn't wrinkle. It is satin. Can I get it steamed on board? Can I trust Disney not to ruin it? I guess I am scared that something might happen to it.

Hey everyone. It's raining in FL today.:(

alwatlers: I know what you mean about wearing a formal gown. I graduated from a small private christian school, and we didn't have a prom. So the first time I sailed on the Magic I went shopping a Dillards just after prom time and bought two prom dresses that were marked down to under $25.00 each. I was so excited. Last year I did the same thing.

This year, because I still had my baby weight in July, I did not go to buy a new formal gown. So I will have to wear one of the ones I previously bought. Oh well, at least I will be on the cruise.:hyper: :teeth:

KAREN: I cried when I read the story about Sophie, Emma and family. It is such a sad tragedy. I think about and pray for that family every day.

Well, that is all of my news for today.

A couple of years ago I bought 2 basic floor lenght black skirts, one is typered the other is has a more full flowing look. I have different blouses to wear along with them. They have worked out very well for me in the past but not sure if they are going to fit this year.
I went shopping on Friday, just to J.C. Penney. BOY!!!!! I have to tell you that the fashions I saw for this year are just boring and flat out ugly.:crazy2: I would love to get some new casual clothes for dinner. I like things that look tailored with some color, not much but something other than G.I. JOE green.:sad2:
I saw some really nice things in a mail order catalog but I have problems buying from catalogs. Things never fit me right, too much up top. I keep telling my DH that one of these day I going to find a good doctor(PS) to trim my twin girlfriends down.
:earseek:

Hi Everyone,
We had Gason come through here this morning dumping almost 5 inches of rain. My yard is a mess!!! We have limbs and leaves everywhere. I just spent 3 days mowing and cleaning my yard. I guess I will have to start over again tomorrow:sad: WE did manage to clean the pool and pool area this afternoon. We had 2 wheelbarrows full of limbs and leaves just in that area. We lost power this morning, but thank goodness we had it restored around 8:30 tonight. Anyway I can't complain to much. We didn't have any damage just mess. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Hope you have no more storms this year

Good Morning everyone:

Ginger: I had to laugh about your post to trim the girls. I just starting taking golf lessons and they keep getting in the way. They keep telling me to keep my arms away from my rib cage, but the girls keep getting in the way.

Teri: Sorry to hear about the mess you had. Seems like we go 2 steps ahead and 1 step back. Glad you didn't have any real damage.

Judi: Glad you found soemthing at David's. I work at a mom and pop bridal salon, and even with my discount I can't find anything. Don't want to spend too much, where am I going to wear a formal again? Maybe I'll have to book another cruise to get my money's worth out of it!!::yes::

Kelly: My DS was wondering when Jennifer would email. I'll let him know she had computer problems.

Karen: I know what you mean about Sophie and her family. I just keep thinking and praying for them too. They have a Memorial fund set up on the main boards. I'm sure you've seen it. Even though I haven't been on these boards long, you can just feel the community spirit. I don't even know these people and I feel like I need to do something. I guess praying is the best thing.

Well I better get up from this computer and go to the gym. I'll be on later. Hope everyone has a good day.

We're still onboard as of now. Ginger's pixie dust must've been very helpful because dh isn't being deployed before vacation.

11 for the T or T sounds good. Is there any problem bringing candy on board? We didn't bring any food last time, but I guess unopened candy would be okay?

If you need another adult to walk the kids around, I volunteer.

If there are any 10-11 year olds who'd like to email our dd let us know. She wasn't crazy about what she saw on the navigators for her age group, but would love to hang out with other kids. Okay, mainly girls. She still thinks boys are kind of odd.

Hey everyone. We are keeping a watch on Hurricane Francis (however you spell it). We are having our annual family reunion on Sunday and hopefully the storm will stay at sea.:umbrella:

Teri: Sorry to hear about the mess you were left with. Thank goodness there was no major damage.

Ginger & Michelle You guys crack me up!! Some of us wish we had bigger twins!! Why do you think I kept breastfeeding Emily for 6 months!:teeth: (sorry to all the men who post on here)

vikingfans: we had a tornado go right over our house 2 summers ago. It was only and F1, but it did some decent damage in the neighborhood. Our next door neighbor lost her whole screened in pool area. Fortunately for us we were okay. We had no idea what it was until it was over.:scared1:

Julie: YEA that you will still be able to come:jumping1:

If there are any 13 yr old girls that would like to email my daughter before the cruise, let me know. She has tried to email a girl named Danielle, but has not gotten a response and is a little down about that.

Have a great day everyone.

What type of treats is everyone giving out? I have been asked by my wife on what we should bring, and I honestly don't know.

At home, the children seem to bring back a 6 month+ supply of candy from neighborhood t-or-t'ing. That is way out of the question. We don't want to bring large treats, nor do we want to return home with large treats. So, what type of items should we plan on giving out?

Thanks!

Good afternoon:

Julie: you can PM me and give me your DD's email. My DD is 11 and she has been emailing several girls that are going. Glad you'll be joining us. Hope there are no surprises till then!!::yes::

Dena: I think I know who Danielle is and I'll give her a call. Your DD can PM us and my DD will get back to her. I also have a DS 13, but he usually doesn't get on. I just asked him and he said he'll try to email her back. Let's give it a try!! Hope the weekend goes well for you. I'm usually the one that has the family reunion. Have had it a few time when the weather didn't cooporate. Everyone in the house. Help!! Good luck, keeping our fingers crossed for you!!

Scott: I ordered some small things from Oriental Trading. Hoping I ordered enough. I think Ginger had a great idea. She posted some time back about fruit snacks, pretzels, things that kids can take on the islands. Thought that was great. I did get some candy though. What is Halloween without candy!!!:Pinkbounc
Sorry I can't eat their candy though!!::yes:: Would like to find a couple of Resses cups. Guess they would melt. Maybe M & M's. Love them too!!::yes:: Thought they would crush. I hope they have a Chocolate dessert to satisfy my craving!!!

Just wanted to remind everyone that if you have paid your trip in full, you can call starting tomorrow and reserve your excursions. I am definitely signing my DS and DH for the dolphin swim, and my younger DS and I will probably do one of the snorkle excursions.
Not sure yet because today I went to Wal-Mart looking for snorkle equipment(mask, snorkle, and fins) I found 2 sets in clearence(sp?) for $14.00 a set. Thought this was a good deal. When she scanned them, they were only $4.75 a set. What a bargin!!!! Now I won't care if they get lost on the islands. Also I think now we will do our own excursion to Trunk Bay since we won't have to rent equipment. They had a few left, so I might go back tomorrow and get some more. These were adult sizes, my boys have big feet(fits men's 61/2 to 91/2).

Have a great day, got to get ready for Jimmy Buffet. He will be in Pittsburgh on Thursday!!!!

Talk to you guys later

Good Morning everyone!!

Just made my excursions reservations!!! Yeah:Pinkbounc

Not a problem getting through. Of course I called at 7:59am, and got right through.

That's a load off my mind. Booked the 2 DS's on the Teen thing at CC, the whole family for parasaling, oh help me, what was I thinking and the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St Maarten.

Now it's time to sit back and relax.

Me too. Excursions booked.

Golden Eagle Catamaran, 5-Star St. John Snorkle and Beach, and Parasailing in Castaway Cay:bounce:

Only other option we are contemplating is getting a private charter boat to explore either St. Thomas/St. Johns or St. Maarten. This would be with another family we are friends with going along on the cruise. It would be in place of the Disney excursion. We would have nine people total, so the cost should be managable. I'll continue investigating for the next few days.

Michelle - what time were you able to get the parasailing. I took the earliest time offered to me: 2:30! I was surprised the other times were already taken. I made the call around 8:40 this morning.

60 days to go. Wow! :thewave:

Hi Everyone Hope you are safe from the latest hurricanes. We didn't book any excursions. Ithik we will do Coki beach on our own. Does anyone remember how difficult it was to get a cab from there? St Martin if we do anything we will just take the water ferry. We are creatures of habit I guess.
I am looking through oriental trading and I am wondering if the candy there is safe. Ihave orderd trinketsbefore but never food. As of right now we are driving so I hope the stuff will be oK in the car. ANy suggetions? I like the idea of pretzels and fruit snacks. The kids can eat those at the movies or shows. Any other ideas? I bought pencils but I am not sure if peopel wanted stuff they have to bring home.
We are so excited. Everytime the commercial comes on for DCL my ds (2) yells," I wanna go on the DISNEY CRUISE!" at the top of his lungs.

Dena-We are also watching hurricane Francis. I pray she turns back out to sea.

Hi Again Yes Terri Coki Beach is with Coaral World in St Thomas. It only takes about and hour to do the entire thing. The kids liked it.I thought it was a little less exciting than an aquarium.
We did Great Bay on our last 3 tros to St Martin last time we had a not so pleasant experience there but we will probably go back. It is very onvenient and e can do a little shopping then hitthe beach.

I went parasailing on Castaway Cay and I thought it would be really horrifying. It wasn't. I found it kind of disappointing-- just floating up there gently. The view was great, but I expected it to be faster like a thrill ride. If you're not freaked out by heights or deep water, it's not bad at all.

Hi all:wave2:, thought I would sneak on for a minute. Glad I did you all have been chatting away.

Teri I'm glad it was only limbs and leaves to clean up. I think I made ressies for the shuttles but I can't remember. I don't think it really matters cause my DH will be driving us over dropping us off with the bags then he'll take the truck back to the Raddison. Since it's only him, no bags, he can hop on the next available shuttle back to the port.

Dena do you remember what time we went to the port last year? If I can find the adult chocs, I'll bring them. I wish there were rum fill snickers bars.

Julie I'm glad that Pixie Dust worked for you. Now can you send some my way to help me get this weight off.
I canceled my gym membership to try to save money for the Aug 20, 2005 cruise. Now I'm so sorry I did, I never take the time at home to workout.

O.K. I've got Ashley's candy jar in front of me, let's see what she has in it. Tootsie Rolls and pops, Bubblicious gum, skittles gum, now and laters, pixie stixs, life savers, dots, sweettarts, blow pops, Necco wafers and candy buttons her big thing lately has been fruit roll ups by the yard. She can't have peanut products but I can. It was peanut M&M's that put the 20 lbs on me that I just lose.
I'd buy my candy from Costco, B.J's, Wal-Mart ot Target before I would purchase it from OT. OT's seemed a little high in price for their candy, my opinion only..

Michelle, Coral World is very different from the Balto. Aquarium. It's more like an opened air aquarium with critters crawling around looking for a handout of crispy lettuce. Don't get me wrong it's really a neat place. Oh!!! BTW, golf is not my game, I just couldn't get that swing down.
I found grape tomatoes, watermelons and a cantalopes growing in Ashley's flower garden. Last year we used the area for composting. Our raised veggie gardens did awful this year but her little flower garden is producing wonderfully.

Hey Judi, good deal on that snorkling equipment and the dress. Sounds like you've got some growing boys, maybe future football players.
To all of our male posters, I hope I did not offend you with my girl talk.
Stay safe all, I've got work for the rest of the week, so I'll see you in a few.:flower:

Good Morning Everyone:

Beautiful day here in NJ!!:sunny:

Teri: I know what you mean about info in the head!! Schedules for the kids activities are out. Three to keep track of!! The calendar is color coded.::yes::

I have so much information on what to do in these ports that I started a file, so that when DH walks into the computer room and needs to get on for work I can just shove it away.:hyper:

The suggestion about the banana boat ride was great. I think that's something Debbie's DS would love.

Ginger: Sounds like you have some great things in Ashley's candy jar!! I don't think there is a candy out there I don't like.:hyper: Well, maybe those new things like sour patches. Haven't meet a dessert that turns me off either!!::yes::

Toni: Talk about being a big chicken. I not crazy about water so this parasailing will be a big deal for me.:scared1:

I would love to try Maho or great bay in St Maarten, but not sure if I'll have the time. Would also like to shop a little.

My problem is that there is too much to do in St Thomas, but we're not there as long. I would love to do the sky tram. I already booked Godfreys Tours. He got a great write up on the main boards and I even PMed 4nana and she told me he was very reliable. Since I've never see the island I though the kids would like to see some of it. Coki beach is suppose to be great for snorkeling. so much to do so little time!!

Feeling a little frazzled here. According to the 8am tropical update, there is a GREAT possibility the storm will hit the treasure coast. THAT IS RIGHT WHERE I AM!!!!! So, I am not sure when I will post again, as I will be busy trying to prepare for the hurricane.

I just heard on the news that the storm is going to hit you all Saturday morning. That gives you plenty of time to pack, get in your cars and drive to my house. We are just 17 hours north of WDW. Take 95 north to Maryland get off at Rt 152 exit stay right go straight to the second red light yeild right on to rt. 40. go down to the hardware store ask they where Johnny Byrne lives go to his house and ask him where I live, he's a local plumbler very nice man, knows us will.
Now, if you leave tonight by 8 p.m. you could be here tomorrow around 3:30-4:00 p.m.(giving you a couple extra hours) just in time to go to the state fair with us. I hear they have Key Lime Pie on the stick this year, yummy:crazy:, I know there goes the diet.
Seriously, I know we are a little far away but our home is open to you.

I thought I'd jump on for a minute before I go to work. Looking to see if Dena or Shari emailed me for better directions.
O.K. Dena and Shari if your not coming up, then at least be safe and take care.

Laura sounds like we'll all need to bring "the dark sun glasses" for this cruise.:teeth:

Hey everyone. We are still here. We are getting everything from outside into the house and the garage and then guess where we are headed. DISNEY!!:Pinkbounc Where else would one go in a hurricane?

Thanks to everyone for their good thoughts and prayers. I am not too worried. Well, just a little:bitelip:

Ginger: Yes, you are more than welcome to "borrow one of my children to stand in line for you.:bored: BTW thank you for the invite to your home. I don't think I could manage for 17 hrs in the car with Emily. She can barely make it the 1 1/2 hrs to disney.:cutie:

Well, I got to get back to work. Talk to you soon.

Just wanted to add my prayers, and good luck to all the Florida DISers on our cruise!(and the ones that aren't)
DDad just changed his plans this AM, with a few nudges by me, his original flight brought him into Orlando at 2:40pm Satuday, now he will come in on Monday, I tried to get him to wait until Tuesday, but he wasn't into it.

Well, we should have been on a plane in about three hours for a quick three day, 15th anniversary trip to WDW. We will just have to celebrate on the cruise.

We had been watching the storm since the weekend and on Wednesday Debbie made the decision (with my full support) that there was no way we were going to add to the mayhem by traveling into central Florida. We had reservations at the Swan (a fully non-fundable internet rate if cancelling less than 72 hours out) which the Swan cancelled with no penalties. We were also able to receive a full credit for our plane tickets and they waived the $50.00 change fee.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who will be affected by the hurricane. Hopefully Frances will continue to weaken.

Bob that's a shame, was it just going to be you and Debbie? Can you come a few days before or stay a few after the cruise? Our anniversary(11 years) is the 23rd of this month, maybe we can have a special drink on St. John to celebrate both.

I noticed that Ashley didn't have school on the 7th and 8th of Nov, soooooo I thought:idea: perect time to get in a couple days at WDW. I asked Bill what he thought of the idea, before he could get "Yeah! we could do that"... out of his mouth, I was online emailing my request. Got a quick confirmation back, but I was quote 30 points more than they have posted on their site for our stay. I just tried to call them to correct the matter but the offices are now closed due to the storm. They will be reopened on Tuesday, if possible.

BTW, we aren't telling Ashley about our little visit to the World we're going to surprises her.

I sure hope that Dena and her family will be alright staying there.

Go to go my DH is putting together a new piece of excerise equipment for me, an Elliptical. I've wanted one for years but he would never give in because I was a member at a very expensive gym in Bel Air, Md. I finally gave up my membership to try and save money for next years cruise. I guess he felt sorry for me or was it the weight I was gaining that made him give in. Who cares, I've got it now.

Hi everyone! Just checking in and I wanted to add my prayers for Dena and Shari to be safe and not to have too much damage! Ginger, what a sweetheart you are to open your home like that! Dena, at least you are going to WDW! Have fun!

Julie, I'm still working on my DD 10 Elizabeth to start emailing your daughter and other girls on the cruise! We finally fixed our email but Elizabeth is so shy! I did mention that your daughter likes horses though, so that might nudge her closer to emailing! And I'm glad to hear that you know for sure that your coming on the cruise!

We're going to do the horseback riding at St. Maarten with the Bayside Riding Club, and then do Godfrey's at St. Thomas. Michelle, did you ever find out whether we would have time to go to a beach at the end of the tour?

Take care everyone!

Good Morning everyone!!

This weather huh? Hoping everyone is safe. We have relatives in the West Palm Beach area, too. Hope all are safe.

Lynda: I do have to email Godfrey tours again. I would like to do the Sky Tram, Shop, see the island then beach. Wish we had more time in St. Thomas and less in St Maarten. Don't know is they will go for this or if I have to go along with his plans.

DVCBob: Sorry about your plans!! Glad you could at least save the money. Put it towards a new cruise!!::yes::

Donnainnj: Hope your DDad is okay. Is he flying home or a vacation?

Keeping an eye to the sky and the weather channel.

Michelle

Thanks for the offer, Ginger, ;) , but we spent Thursday night in Athens GA, then drove on to Maggie Valley NC (where I used to work as a zookeeper & tour guide) and plan to remain here until next Friday morning if nothing changes. We just have no desire to go back to no power and a landscape of debris, which is bound to be the case again even if it hits as only a Cat 2. I just saw on the Weather Channel that it is currently not moving (in its path) at all, but may build stronger again and then hit land full force. The weird thing here is being able to watch it throughout its course since we have power and those broadcasters have emergency generators. We've been watching the "damage" and it hasn't even hit land yet!

Where I am now in the Smokies of NC, we are expecting heavy rain and wind by Tuesday, but should be nothing more than something like what central FL gets throughout the summer.

Even if Frances proceeds as predicted, I would not be surprised to go home to a downed patio screen structure, lots of roof shingles off, and more downed trees . . but that will be minor compared to what many face. I'm hoping the windows hold up.

I may not be posting much during the coming week, but want to say best wishes to everyone who is anywhere in FL. Do everything possible to stay safe, and please post as soon as you have power again after the hurricane . . to let us know you are okay.

Shari, did you run to the hill to hide, don't blame you I would do just that. I'm hoping the best for you when you get back to Fla.

Julie, the pixie dust you sent helped me out. I had been stuck on a number for a good while, the scales just would not move. Yesterday it finally moved 4 whole pounds. Thank you, Thank you.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

I'd like to wish everyone a happy and safe weekend.
We know Dena is having a good time at Disney World. Boy, what a way to wait a storm out. She's one lucky lady.::yes:: ;)

Hello;

Ginger I need some of your pixie dust just to try and keep on track. Tuesday is coming and it's back to the grind stone. You did great. very hard in the summer.

Shari: Hope all is well with your home. Just spoke with my cousin, West Palm, She has power, but my Uncle about 4 miles away does not. Has not had power since 9am this morning. My cousin boarded up before it hit but knows the screened porch is gone. Keeping our fingers crossed for everyone else.
