Don't get me wrong (hee hee)....I wanted to get a new Mickey watch while we are in WDW, but I'm reading a lot of posts that mention definatly getting them!!! Is there a certain watch that everyone looks for while there/certain shop to get them in? I still remember my lorus singing Mickey watch with the leather strap being my all time favorite!

I got my first Mickey watch at the Poly back in 1976. Boy do I miss that watch.:(

I bought a Mickey watch during our May 2000 trip. I wasn't looking for one but I saw the one I have now and fell in love with it. DH convinced me to buy it! :teeth:

There is a great watch store on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, About half-way down Main Street on the right, as you enter the park.

There is also a wide selection of Mickey & other Disney Watches at the World of Disney Store at Downtown Disney. That's where I purchased my Mickey watch last year.

We were at our local Disney store this past weekend and a lady working there showed us the Mickey watch she bought on Main St at MK. It is a Mickey watch and the background is a picture of her and Mickey. It was really neat.

Get one and wear it proudly! If nothing else, wearing a MM watch seems to keep me from taking myself too seriously!!!

I got my Mickey watch from the store on Main Street in 1994 and it's still ticking away on my wrist :)

I plan on getting one!

I abandoned my mickey watch around age 16 because I felt I was grown up (ha) and didn't need one anymore. Now as an adult, I miss it like crazy - LOL!

I got this great one in 1997. It was Cinderella's Castle in the background on the face with Walt Disney World written in a circle above the castle and it has Mickey on the crystal in the foreground. I have not found any that I like more and I have replaced that watch twice with the same watch (once, the circuit went out, and in June, I knew we were not going back for a few years, so I got another just in case!!!). Love that watch!!!!!

We always buy new watches when we visit - it's tradition! As a matter of fact, we haven't been back in over a year now, so DH has already announced that he's getting 2 this trip!

(Hey, at least I'm getting him to shop!!):teeth:

I love getting watches from WDW. I always get a new Tinkerbell one each time we go down. DH gets to go to the Contemporary every June for his company's convention. As a peace offering, I always get a new watch. This year it was a really pretty Minnie one that was sparkels in the face, flowers and a pink band that sparkels. My mother claims I have a watch obsession :) but doesn't everyone have watches in all colors to match all outfits?

Disney and Mickey watches are all that I wear. I have a good collection. I usually get one each time we go. My favorite was one with a denim band and red hearts. I wore it so much it got "nasty" from use, so the next time I was there I got another just like it. I also have the Minnie one like it with pink hearts. This year I got one that has 2003 on the face and icons from each park. It is pretty good. My all time favorites were a couple of years ago. They had "big faces" of the characters. I have one with Tigger and one with Minnie. The batteries have worn out and I haven't been able to find anyone to replace them. And I don't find the watches to be very expensive, unless you have really good taste. :p

Enjoy your trip. I know you are excited.

AZKathy, that is the same watch I got on my August 2001 trip! I love it, and it's still ticking. The band on the other hand, could use a little help LOL. I wear it every single day!

I sure plan on getting one next trip to WDW, whenever that may be. I just can't decide between a Mickey or Tigger (my fave) watch. Heck, I might splurge and get one of each, lol!!

I bought a watch in the store on Main St. two years ago. It was about 80 dollars. I love it but the clasp broke about 6 months after i got it. I was thinking about brining it back this week and see if they will fix it. What do you think my chances are?

I have bought 2 watches (Airplane Mickey & Two Gun Western Mickey) at WDW in years past. I still have them both & they work great. I have found that WDW has alot of unique items that you just don't see outside of the world except for on eBay.

I buy a new Mickey watch every year we go ~ it's part of my tradition now and I have quite a collection. I love the jewelry store on Main Street in the MK. :p Have a great time!

Ok folks, I need your assistance. I'm a bit picky about any kind of watch that I wear. I won't wear plastic watches, and as much as I like watches with leather bands, I avoid them. The bands tend to get a bit too, how shall we say... rancid after one sweats on them a few times. (if you don't believe me, give your watch band a quick sniff... pretty nasty)

Anyway, all that being said, I almost always wear watches with metal wrist bands. My question is whether anyone is aware of a traditional Mickey Mouse face (moving hands) with a metal band available for men? I know there is a rolex style watch for women but what about us menfolk?

I was looking at buying one of the watches, but I never got around to it this past trip. Now I could kick myself!

It definitely goes on the "to buy" list for next year.

We buy one almost everytime we go because no one thinks to bring one from home and we're afraid we'll be late for our PS's!
What an excuse!

I had the same thing happen to a watch I bought at the same shop on Main Street, only mine broke about 1.5 years after I bought it. The next time I was at WDW I took the watch to World of Disney at DTD, back in the back where all the watches are, and a very nice CM working there fixed the clasp for me! He said they don't have replacement parts, but if it's fixable they'll do it for you. Good luck.

I too am one that will only wear metal bands.
RickinNYC....agree totally!:)

Every time we go....I spend what seems like hours looking at the watches...
The shop at MK is great, so is the shop at MGM. I have purchased 2 at the MGM shop and one at the shop in Downtown Disney.
I still have quite a few watches that I got at the Disney Store....and we all know they don't carry anything like that anymore...
So needing a new watch is another reason we "HAVE TO GO TO WDW!"

Has anyone purchased one with a leather band and asked to have the band repaced with a metal band?? There have been a few styles I've seen and did not buy them because of the leather band...
This time I may ask if they will replace the band. Other wise I will have the band replaced when I get home.

AZKathy, I don't remember that one! I am a huge Cinderella fan (hence my DIS name:D ) and would like one of the castle. I have 2 other Cinderella watches I got from the Disney Store Gallery when it was still open up here in Ohio.
But I would love one like that....also if it had a metal band. Does it?
I am going in Oct and will be looking for that watch.
Thanks!!!:D

My husband gets one almost every year.
A couple are really nice that were on sale years ago at Dowtown Disney. His favorite is an Artist watch with Mickey and the Tower of Terror.

We have the 25th year watches but my favorite is from Disneyland - has Disneyland on the watch face - my husband has Mickey and I have two - Minnie and Eeyore.
I'll have to tell him he isn't the only one that collects Disney Watches.

WDW didn't repair, but REPLACED my watch when a function failed after six months. I love Disney watches. I have about a dozen of them:D Even when I don't make a purchase, I carefully scan every case of watches at every store at WDW to be sure I haven't missed the ultimate watch.

My watches seem to last forever, so when I look at a watch I concentrate on the watch itself and not the band. The Mickey watch (bought 5 years ago at the Watch Shop on Main Street while avoiding post parade crowds...) on my wrist at the moment has had 4 different bands since I bought it.

Also, since bands are very replacable, I won't let an ugly band keep me from buying a beautiful watch.

Good luck on finding the perfect Disney watch!!

I got my original Mickey watch years ago at Disneyland. I wore it out of the shop, so the CM set the correct time for me. We always joked that it was set to "the happiest time on earth!"

I was crushed when the strap broke several years later and the watch was lost. I purchased another Mickey watch (a Seiko--I'm not sure if they still have a Mickey line of watches or not) at a local department store to replace it. The next time I was at WDW, I made a point of having a CM set the time for me so I could have my "happy time" back.

I bought mine at World of Disney at DTD two years ago. I bought an identical one for my wife at a local jewelry store, it costs $10 bucks more locally. So much for getting gouged at WDW..

Everytime I go to WDW I always get a Disney watch!!! It is a tradition for me. I love the fact that the World of Disney is a huge store with SO many different watches to choose from. I live in NY and it's hard for me to find a Disney watch that I really like. When I"m there I always find a really nice watch....it's become part of my vacation!!!! :D
