My friend tried the no-flour, no-sugar diet and dropped almost 40 pounds. She still ate fruit and veggies, potatoes, etc., but just eliminated anything made with flour or sugar. It definitely isn't low-carb, because when she's hungry she binges on french fries, and yet she is living proof that it works! Anyhow, just curious if anyone else has tried this and has been as successful.

That sounds very interesting. I belong to a slimming club where it's basically a low fat diet with unlimited amounts of fruit and vegetables and either meat or rice/pasta/potatoes. I can eat anything else I want to but only in limited quantites. I have had some success, but the weeks I do best are those when I don't eat any bread, cake, biscuits etc. at all. I do eat pasta - does that count as flour?
I'd be interested to hear more about this plan.
