I received my first issue of Oprah's "O" magazine (August, 2003) and there are several weight-loss articles in it.
I noticed an insert (pages 81 & 82) that has inspirational sayings that you can tear apart and tape to your mirror, refrigerator, etc.
One of my favorites is included-- "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels" . I've had this taped to my refrig for years and it's rather small type--I've forgotten it was there!
Sooo...I'm putting this lime green (hay, DIS) card in a more visable spot...along with some others.
What are some of your favorite inspirational sayings/quotes? I want to take more notice of these!!:)

OK this has nothing to do with slimming, but I with the state of my house I love it anyway.....

Cleanliness is next to godliness, Tidiness is next to impossible!

I have two favorites:

"The path will wait, as you take the pebble from your shoe."

"A journey of a thousand miles starts with one small step."

Every time life throws me a curve, I think of the path saying and know I'll get thru the rough spot and back on life's path soon enough!

This is an exercise phase that echos thru my head as struggle to complete an exercise routine: "Think of results...results that you can see!!" from the Firm exercise series during a longer set of push-ups.

I like the Journey one Harambe, it is soooooo true!

When I get discouraged and want to give up I think....

"No one conquers who doesn't fight" - Fortune cookie

Then I buck up and fight the urge to quit!!

This isn't really motivational...but it helps me get through those "not so good" days, when I am feeling bad about myself.

"Your weight now is somebody's goal weight".

I have 2 also. I might have posted them here already, but here they are again!

"Ask yourself if what you're doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow."

and

"Do not give up what you want most for what you want at the moment."

They are similar because I have a problem with impulse eating!

This one is for Weight Watchers and Journaling.

"If you bite it- write it" Even those licks and bites count!

"A moment on your lips means a lifetime on your hips"- I try to remember that one when I am about to break down and have something I shouldn't.

I really love the one that Oprah had in her magazine. It is so true that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. - That is so true!

Not weight loss inspiring, but: Raising kids is like being pecked to death by a duck

Thanks, these are great. Just bumping for more?
I thought of a funny (well, my father's humor) one that could be considered weight-related. It was posted in our bathroom when we were kids. It said...
"Be a Regular Guy...Eat Prunes":jester: Can anyone stand prunes??
Here are a couple that come to mind from time to time:
"Never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes" or something like that. Also,
"I once thought I was poor because I had no shoes, and then I saw a man who had to feet".
Here are a couple more from the "Oprah" article:
"Get great at the wait. Be patient--the ability to persevere is what separates whiners from winners". Boy do I need this one. and,
"Front-load to prevent buttload. Stacking most of your calories toward the front end of the day usually means you'll be carrying a lot less junk in your trunk".

Any others??:D
