Use of hotel key after checkout?

is it possible to keep your Royal Pacific hotel key after you checkout and still use it to get unlimited entry into universal express pass lines at IOA and Univ. thinking about staying onsite 2 nights, but buying a 5 day pass to parks. Can they verify at express pass lines if your hotel key is still good.

Your room key is good from the day of check in to the end of the day, on your check out day.... i.e. check in mon. ( I suggest as early as possible, even if your room is not ready, you still get your key for hotl) and then until park closing the day of check-out.... i. e. wed. 11 a.m. (your key is good till park closing wed. night for hotl). If you are a loews member, make sure you get your goodies....... and your check-out time is later in the day, however, it doesn't matter, they will hold your luggage for you( loews member or not). If you are NOT a loews member, I suggest you sign up for it, it's free and you get some nice perks upon arrival. Hope this helps.

You room key is good until the parks close on the day you check out for front of the line access...and yes, they do verify that your key is active when you enter the express pass lanes...there are employees that scan the card at different places throughout the line to go in.
