I've reserved a standard car at National. The mention it will be a Monte Carlo or similar. What kinds of other standard cars have you seen or rented at National?

A standard car is a full size with 2 doors. The only one I am aware of is a Monte Carlo, but, then again, I am not a car buff. :)

you might just end up getting a full size....do not recall a " standard" aisle at MCO .....

was thinking a standard was "like " a 2 door full size but not certain....

Could probably be a Pontiac Grand Am Coupe, as well as a Ford Mustang, Chrysler Sebring Coupe, Oldsmobile Alero Coupe, or Toyota Solera. :)

Or an Accord coupe, however, Grand am is an intermediate.

Be careful about renting a "standard car". At some rental agencies that means a car with a manual transmission.

Next trip planned: November 2003, All Star Music

Good point, but, all the standards I have rented have been 2 door full sized cars with auto trans. At home, all we have is manual transmissions. I cannot imagine driving a 4 cyl. Honda with auto. Too damn slow. :) Driving a auto. Miata would be a waste and it is a heck of a lot of fun (and power) with the Alfa 164.
