ExxonMobil to End Disney World sponsorship - IRVING, TEXAS, July 16 - ExxonMobil has decided not to renew its sponsorship of Disney’s Universe of Energy pavilion at Epcot, Orlando, Florida, effective March 13, 2004. ExxonMobil appreciates the quality sponsorship opportunity that the Universe of Energy pavilion has provided. However, after more than 20 years involvement, we have made a business decision not to renew our sponsorship.

I'm going to miss the tiger roar at the end.

Yeah - that roar was the only alarm clock I ever got to wake me up that the damn thing was over! :)
I will admit that I thought the Ellen makeover did wonders for it, but it still one of those attractions I can only do once a year or so - if that!

Beyond the initial monies put-up by sponsors to actually design/build the ride/attraction, does anyone know what kind of financial commitments are required of attraction sponsors?
Anyone know? Venture to guess?
Just curious.

I am SO upset to hear this!!! We are an Exxon family, my dad and grandpa retired after many years with them, and my BIL and nephew currently are with them. This really stinks!!! I too would like to know the finanacial commitment required, but why would it matter to ExxonMobil....they have more money than God you know!!! My family enjoys the attracion. My 5 yr. old DD LOVES it. She is a dino fanatic as are lots of little ones- and many of them are too small/scared for the Dinosaur ride at AK. Our favorite part though is when they show the offshore drilling rig, my kids always say "that's where uncle Joe Paul works!!!" I hope they don't change or eliminate the pavillion. Seems to me like it is a great "commercial" for ExxonMobil!!! Lacee:(

Is that a tiger roar at the end? I thought it was a dinosaur.
Whatever it is, it's LOUD!

Emy's Mom, I believe you are correct. It's that "think you are safe - then scare you" kind of thing. Pretty sure it's the dino from the first theater scene.

Don't you's remember the old commercials that ended with the tiger roar ? Then you exit the ride and see the Save The Tiger Foundation or whatever it is.

Oh yeah, I remember those commercials.
It's just that the roar doesn't sound like a tiger to me . . . it sounds like a very large dinosaur.

Just curious, how old are you ??? I'm not old enough to know what a large dino sounds like :-)
I don't know what the roar is for certain. To me it has always been the tiger. Maybe when Exxon pulls out they take the roar with them and we'll know for sure.

Well, it doesn't sound like a tiger roar to me . . . those I've heard. So, I assumed it was a dinosaur.
Unless it's Alex Trebeck?
