Pictures and Opinions of Resort Kid Clubs???

Or have opinions of

- Mouseketeer Clubhouse at the Contemporary
- Sandcastle Club at the Beach Club Resort
- Never Land Club at the Polynesian Resort
- Cub's Den at the Wilderness Lodge
- Simba's Cubhouse at the Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Mouseketeer Clubhouse at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Been looking and can't seem to find any pictures or user reviews.

Sorry, no photo's to share, but opinions to offer:

- Mouseketeer Clubhouse at the Contemporary

I'm not sure if we ever used that one. I don't recall and neither does DS. If we did use it, it doesn't stand out as being good or bad.

- Sandcastle Club at the Beach Club Resort

It was "OK for a night" but geared more towards the preschool younger lementary crowd. DS was probably 11"ish" when we used it. He was a bit bored, watched a movie, but not much for the older kids.

- Never Land Club at the Polynesian Resort

This is WDW's premiere group childcare place. Lots of activities for all age groups, and most definitely the best for the older kids. My son was very upset the last time we took him out when he was 12, because he knew he'd never be back.

- Cub's Den at the Wilderness Lodge

Never used. DS was too old before WL opened (that makes ME feel old! :eek: )

- Simba's Cubhouse at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Never used this one either.

- Mouseketeer Clubhouse at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

We used this one once. DS was probably 10 when we used it, and was bored to death. It's geared for the 4-7 range, there was nothing for him to do. He watched a video, but even the movies they had were geared younger. Winnie the Pooh type stuff. It's also VERY small, no larger than a regular guest room at the GF. Luckily we only left him there for about three hours while we ate at V&A's, any longer and we would have gotten a page to come get him, because he was miserable.

Hi,
We used the Sandcastle CLub last summer for our then 4 year old daughter and 5 year old son.
They liked it a lot. I wasn't sure how they wold like the idea of us leaving them there, but they seperated from us easier thn we expected. There were video games (my son liked) and a dramatic play area (my daughter liked) plus lots of other games and crafts. They both came home with Mosaic pictures that they made (they still have them).
On our last night we asked them what they most wanted to do, park, swim etc... they chose Sand Castle Club!
Hubby and I didn't even know what to do with our time! LOL
They are looking forward to going back this year.

I don't have any pictures but my kids have been to Cub's Den at WL several times. They are 6 and 8 and they both loved it. DD made a craft and DS played video games. We went last June there were a lot of other kids there and the kids liked it much better than when we went in February and they were the only kids there. The staff is excellent!! When we were there in February we left the kids there so go to a concert in downtown Orlando. We ended up being about 1/2 hour late picking up the kids because of traffic. I was a nervous wreck about it but they were very sweet and understanding.

Our kids have stayed at Neverland Club (dd was 8, DS was 7) Loved it! enjoyed the video games, meeting kids from other states and countries! Had typical kid's food, which was fine for them.

In January - we are going to AKL and both kids have asked if they can go to Simba's Cub house!

This is our first trip to Disney, so I can't help you much on opinions. I finally decided to leave my dd at the Neverland Club. I've read good things about Simba's Den also.

Don't have any photos but my dd stayed at the Cub's Den last August just after she turned 4. She seemed to enjoy it. She has a bit of a separation problem from me to places that are unfamilar, but she kept bugging me to to there and play on the computers. She seemed to enjoy herself.

It's a nice kid's club. Plenty of computers, large tv, crafts, toys. There were about 10 kids there maybe so it wasn't busy which was nice. The nice thing about it is that they have an open house around 2:30 (hope they still have it) and the kids can go in a make a craft so there are already kids in there so it gives them a taste of it before leaving them there. The open house made her want to go back- we'll see what happens when we try it again next month:p

Our boys 9 and 6 both spent 1 hour at Sandcastle Club and 2 hours on Simba's Cub House last Dec. They seemed to enjoy both; there were plenty of activities and supervision at both locations.

When I asked which they liked best, the 9yo said Sandcastle Club, because they had non-Disney video games whereas Simba's only had Disney-brand video games. :rolleyes: (We don't allow them console games at home.) I have to admit I thought Sandcastle Club was a little nicer myself, though Simba's also seemed fine.

Perhaps because we were there at a slow time of the year, in both cases we were able to get our boys in on a "walk-in" basis, without the requested 24-hour reservation. (Of course we actually called ahead to ask if they had space.) You shouldn't expect that, but you can always ask.

You have all made it easier for me to make my decision.

It is just too difficult to make a decision without first seeing where we will be leaving her. I am sure all of the WDW resorts will have wonderful facilities. I just want to make sure to do the proper research because if my DH and I are away it is really important to us that our daughter is having fun.

Ducklite -- LOL. Sorry to remind of your age. I feel as though my daughter is growing up way to fast. Disney has a wonderful way of keeping all of us young, which is why my family and I try to make the trip to either WDW resort or DL resort as often as possible. ;)

My daughter stayed at the Neverland Club last year and loved it she didn't want to leave :-) So we have her booked to stay there again this year while hubby and I celebrate our anniversary. My daughter is looking forward to her stay this year

The club is set up to look like Wendy's bedroom and you have to climb through a window to enter.

We used the Neverland Club in 2000 when kids were 7 & 12 and they enjoyed it. I still have the little plastic cup and toothpick stautes they made for me.

The one thing that I found surprising was how early kids were dropped off and picked up. We were going to Pleasure Island for our anniversary and we dropped off the kids a little after 7:00. Our kids said nobody else was dropped off after them. We picked them up before 10:30 and they were the last kids there. I guess I assumed most of the parents would be out later at PI.

Zcomic, when we do Victoria & Albert's, we almost always use the Poly's Neverland Club (even when we're staying at the GF). There was one time in particular when we didn't pick our daughter up until the stroke of midnight (I hate that last seating at V&A's, it's always so hard to leave the table!). My husband & I were surprised that there were still a few kids left at the club, we could have sworn that ours would have been the only one left (it was midnight, after all). The Neverland Club was hopping that night.

Our two boys (6 and 4 then) loved the Neverland Club when we were there last May. They wanted to go back more than the two nights we sent them there.

We just got back Sunday from a nine day stay at the Poly. My boys ages 9 and 5 went to the Neverland Club three times while we were there. They love it so much we had a really tough time getting them to leave when we came to pick them up. They just have soooooooo much fun there and there is so much for them to do and the staff is excellent with the kids. I asked them which they liked better the Neverland Club or Simba's Cubhouse and they both said the Neverland Club. My kids have never had a sitter other than my inlaws and after going and seeing it one time on a previous trip I had no problem leaving my kids there and feeling that they were safe and secure.

Thanks everyone again, for your insightful reviews of the various kid's clubs. If we do a third night away I will probably use Simba's Club.

zcomic I have been worried about that I think my daughter would feel more comfortable if their are other kids around. I hope we don't stay out so late that she is the last one to get picked up. It looks as though that really varies.
