new years eve ?

Hi, this will be our first time going at christmas and new years, any suggestions of where to go for new years eve? Any info will be appreciated! Thanks much! ...........goof

I was there for New Year's Eve, and we went to Epcot - although it rained on us and we ended up back at the resort before the midnight Illuminations and fireworks.

Advice on where to go...it really depends on who you're with and what you want out of the evening. Keep in mind that MK is usually the most crowded, and no alcohol is served there either. Also transportation is supposedly a nightmare, so take that into consideration as well. We chose Epcot primarily due to its location within walking distance of our resort, and also Illuminations is a favorite.

Wherever you decide to go, make sure you have PS for New Year's Eve b/c everyplace will be booked. We saw people trying to get into a restaurant that day, and they were told that the soonest they could get in was the following day.

First, you can see Fantasmic. Next, you see fireworks in a park that may have them twice a year or so. To me that's special. I think it's an easy park to get out of, too.

You are going at a great time; so, enjoy. If you go to MVMCP while you are there you can see a special edition of MK's fireworks which is their 360 degree special show. I believe it's the same show on NYE; so, to me I would stay away from that park on NYE if I attended the party.

Also, keep in mind there are bands playing that night at Epcot and MGM-Disney Studios. You may have a preference to the music at a certain park.

I have to say though be prepared for wall to wall people if it doesn't rain or get too cold.

thanks for the information! We'll be staying at the Dolphin,so it sounds like epcot- altough mgm does sound nice........isn't it great to have these 'tough' desicions to make! thanks again!.......goof
