Our Virgin rep suggested trying the Fashion Square Mall on East Colonial Drive in downtown Orlando as a change to the Florida Mall.

It's nowhere near as big but still has all the department stores like Burdines, Dillards etc.

We took her advice and were glad we did. Dillards had an extra 33% off all sale prices for that week and we ended up buying two pairs of Levi's for the equivalent of £27 and much much more of course.

It's quite easy to get to being right off I4 and about 5mins down East Colonial Drive.

Check it out if you're going over soon.....

Julian

p.s. We also did the Florida Mall as well, still excellent but not as cheap as the Fashion Square Mall.

It's a bit further away (well, considerably further), but I like 'University Mall'. It's a short drive from Busch Gardens!

Has anyone been to the new Millenium Mall?

The new Mall at Millenia, right off I-4 north of Universal, is a real stunner, and there are plenty of bargains to be had, too, as they are in full 'Sale!' mode right now (they need the business!). Florida Mall is still looking good (especially with the new Nordstrom's and Lord & Taylor), but I also rate the Altamonte Mall as well, just north of Winter Park. A great place to shop mid-week and they offer a discount booklet for tourists.

Another vote here for Altamonte Mall. Well worth visiting, very few tourists ,too!

...........and why not build in a visit to Winter Park..now there's a community where you can seriously damage your credit card!!!

we liked the Altamonte Mall, and it has the added bonus of a Scrapbook store right on site!

I tried to go to the University Mall in Tampa but we couldn't find it.

Anyone have any idea how to get there?

I haven't been there myself but I understand its on Fowler Avenue which is the main route (off '75') that you take to reach Busch Gardens, from Orlando. It must be a mile or two further on.

Maybe I'll get there myself, one day.
