So just wanted to stop by and say it was a really great trip to Mexico. We had a fantastic time! 28 adults from our church stayed at a children's orphanage in Tijuana (played and interacted with the children); built a house for a family of 8 in a nearby suberb (and the guys who did this part, did it in 17 hours!) and also helped (clean the outside yard and painted inside) of another house that will soon be a shelter for battered women.
Dropped the film off today and should have some pix early next week.
I am happy to report that my Sat 6 (miles, that is) and hill training - most definately helped me to get up and down "a tricky hill" to the house building site. I was so glad to have prepared!!!!
I missed all my WISH friends and even though I wasn't able to stay OP (way tooooooooo many carbs in tortillas, rice, beans and cheese) I did manage to maintain when I did my weekly WI today! I felt I was realistic in just hoping for no gain and I really am very happy to have that outcome!
Also, had a chance to "share what a wonderful group" you WISHers are and how the frienship, support and accountability makes me be a success!
Can' t wait to "catch-up" and see how you all are doing!
