Room Request for Standard View at BWV QQ

Will be leaving for a stay at BWV soon and I have a couple questions on room requests. Per our reservation we have requested non-smoking, close to elevator and a day bed, but wonder if there are any other suggestions. In particular, has anyone put in a request for a specific room? Did you fax in your request or phone in? If so, anyone stayed in a studio with a standard view that they were happy with? Lastly, any other room request tidbits?

For our next trip we've requested the opposite...away from the elevators, near the tennis courts (and I hope that's really what I want as I just sort of picked the wording off of other's posts). But I can certainly see the advantage of being near the elevators.

You can fax or call the room controller a few days ahead, but I never have. I've been skunked once (at FW where the loop I wanted was full) and got exactly what I wanted even though I didn't make it exactly specific 2 other times. And once...maybe I got what I requested and maybe I didn't depending on your POV (I requested close to the Hospitality House at OKW and got Bldg. 62...I think...the new bldg that doesn't have parking out front....wasn't exactly what I was hoping for but it was fine).

Really it all depends on how your reservation fits in with everyone else's that same week. I think its pretty hit or miss though there are many cm's who do their best to get you what you want.
