Hoop de Doo from Wilderness Lodge

Which is best way to Hoop De Doo from Wilderness Lodge? How far would the walk be? I understand once we get to FW there is an internal bus? Would walking back be quicker than bus after the show?

If I remember correctly, there is a boat that goes from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness. The marina is steps away from Pioneer Hall where the Hoop-Dee-Doo is. The boats take you back to the lodge after the show also. If you are going during daylight and feel like taking a nice stroll, there is a path between the lodge and Fort Wilderness that also comes out real close to Pioneer Hall.

It is a very nice walk through the woods on a paved path between Wilderness Lodge and Ft. Wilderness, about 1/2 to 3/4 miles long. However, I would NOT do it after the show if it is in the dark.

I would like some opinions on this also! How long would the walk be? Is the path lit?

The path is not lit and is actually very dark because of trees. We walked it during the day and then walked it at night so that we sort of had a feel of where we were going. While we were walking at night, the hayride drove by and everyone shouted a "Hello!" to us.
It is about a 15 minute walk and is quite an adventure to an elementary school age child. We heard rustling in the bushes and my first thought was "OMG! What if it's an alligator!" We shined the flashlight over and it was a rabbit. We have also seen armadillos.

Just to make clear, your options from WL to Fort Wilderness are:

1. Walk, but dark at night, takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

2. Bus, there are two busses that travel the TTC WL FW circuit, Boone and Crockett. I believe it is the Boone bus that runs TTC-WL-FW (thus take it going); I believe it is the Crockett bus that runs TTC-FW-WL (thus take it back from FW); in any event check on the precise routes of the two busses when there. Trip takes 5 minutes one way.

3. There is a boat that runs the FW-WL-Cont circuit; you can take that but may go to Cont first.
Sometimes the boat to and from MK goes to both WL and FW. Thus, you may also be able to take that one. In any event the boat ride can be anywhere from 5 minutes (if you go direct) to 20 or more if you have to go somewhere else first.

All of the above methods deliver you to (and take you from when departing) the main activity area of FW where Pioneer Hall and Hoop Dee Doo are so you do not need to take the FW internal bus.
