Does anyone remember their rates for last year around Christmas time for rental cars? I have been checking daily for a month and can't find a reasonable rate on a full size or larger. We will be there from Dec. 26th to Jan 10th. Just wondered if there might be deals to be had during this busy time.
Thanks for responding!!

I booked a 120.00/week rate from National for a full size back in March. I used DC and a mousesaver coupon. I haven't seen it that cheap since even though I'm still checking.

Good luck!

Thanks- that's more like a rate I can live with! Currently, I am getting between $500-1000/week (which is not going to happen, I'd rather walk!).

Good Luck, we rent a full size car every year at that time. There are very few , if any deals available. This year I was able to book Hertz w/ AAA for 188 for the week. That reservations was made a few months ago. National has had good deals in the past.
This is a peak time and many coupons are not valid. If you can find anything under 250 per week jump on it.

You are going at a time for peak rates. Now is a good time to be looking. If you see a good fare book it because the closer it gets the higher the rates will be.

I booked in April for a 5 day rental for 5 days between Christmas and New Years, using National EA, DC discount and $15 Entertainment coupon. Best I could get so far is $201.57 total estimate.

Ok, I caved. Full size car, through Priceline for $21/day. Now I can quit looking-it was time consuming! It probably isn't too bad for that time of year. I got Hertz, would have preferred something in the terminal, but at least I know that I have a car! Thanks for everyone's responses! :p

Hertz is great. We never wait more than a minute or two and are driving out of the lot in less than 10 minutes. Don't know if you can do it but they have a #1 Club so you can bypass the counter.

Good to hear! We are arriving rather late (10pm) and have two small children. I will check out the #1 club--Thanks!

I have not been able to get a decent rate at all. Right now we have reserved a car rental for our first day and then we will just use towncar for the rest of the trip. While on property, we will just use WDW transportation. I had a sticker shock when I was checking the rates.

Yeah I also rent a van the first and last day then one day in the middle i got a car to go grocery shopping...so 3 out of our 14 days we will have a car but the cost is $210 for 3 days or over $1000 for all 14.....I think I'll save the money and take the bus ...
