Coconuts for Mailing

I know there had been some questions about the availability of coconuts that are made to be mailed. We just got back and stayed at CBR, and there was a whole barrel full of them in pretty good shape for $14.00 at Old Port Royal. There were some also at Pirates of the Caribbean, but their paint had almost completely come off. I would not recommend those.

Yes it is a regular coconut. They have priority mail stickers on them.

While I will agree that they are real coconuts, I will add that something must have been done to them, as they seemed a little bit lighter than what I would expect, and when I shook a few I did not hear the cocnut milk inside. They could have been drained or dried. Perhaps it makes them better for mailing that way. But yes indeed, they sure are real coconuts. I didn't ask how much it would be to mail one. I'm almost afraid to ask!!

I am sure the coconuts are old so no milk inside. They need to be shipped priority mail and that depends on weight but it shouldn't be too bad.

Why would you mail coconuts? Are they just cool...or is there a purpose?

(Not to knock the coconuts...if I understand I may just buy one of these coconuts)

Just adds to the theming. I think there are lots of weird things for sale in WDW. Coconuts are just one of them. :) I am sure lots of people have sent them home.

Hi just back from CBR and I saw the coconuts for sale. They cost 14.00 then you pay another 3-4 dollars to ship, and they have nothing inside. (I asked a cast member). I did not buy one because although it would be neat to get one after you come back home, I'ld rather spend tha kind of money of something at Disney that I could use. IMOP. Jill:Pinkbounc

Wow, I think mailing a coconut home would be awesome! My dd would love it, especially since we like to stay at the Polynesian.
Do they sell them at the Poly? I have never seen them there, but to be honest, I don't really shop much when I am there. Dd finds plenty to buy without me adding on, lol.
Does anyone have a picture of them? Just a coconut with a priority mail sticker? I could probably arrange that with a quick grocery stop, for much less than $17!
