Hi to All,
Hope you don't mind a PARENT on this board but I have a couple of questions.
We will be visiting WDW the week of Christmas/NYE and would like to know:
!. Which park would you want to be in on New Year's Ev? and
2. Why would you want to spend the evening in that partifulcar park?
We will be travelling with our 17 year old, by then 18 year old son. We are split between MGM and Epcot.
HELP US DECIDE!!!
Thanks,

Epcot is a blast on New Year's Eve. They are open late. The weather is usually pleasant that time of year. The have an extra special Illuminations and best of all, if you decide to skip Illuminations (shame on you). The lines for all the Future World pavilions are extremely short or non-existent. I remember riding Body Wars at least 5 times in a row (I stopped because of nausea, not because a CM needed us to move along), Universe of Energy twice, Horizons about 4 times and Spaceship Earth multiple times. It was great!

I spent last NYE at Epcot (I'm 16) and I thought it was great. We decided to go there because they have the special Illuminations and because it seemed to be THE place to spend NYE. We ate at the Rose and Crown in UK so that we could watch the earlier fireworks whilst having dinner (I have never been so cold!!) and then we stayed untill midnight with about 2 million other people!! OK, so maybe I'm exaggerating, but it was very crowded. Some people got to the park really early and reserved a spot along the railings for Illuminations. This isn't really that neccesary, but I'd make sure that you do arrive at the park early because once it's full they close it and you won't get in.
Epcot did have a great atmosphere on NYE though. We were very pleased because we were eating at the Rose and Crown at 7pm when it was midnight at home(UK). All the servers went wild!!
I'd definitely recommend spending NYE at Epcot.
Oh! One more thing. We were very impressed by the way that everyone was packed onto buses and driven back to their hotels. There were loads of people and we only had to wait about 5 mins. for a bus. Disney had it all organised.
Have fun and I hope this helps!!:smooth:
