Accodring to the WDW (newly updated if you haven't checked lately, look again- increased MK hours!) website, MK is open 9-10 on the 29th, with Fireworks at 10, and an E-night 10-1 (no Spectro, though, yet.)

I went through the dates of all the posters on this thread, and it looks like more people will be there on the 29th than the 25th. So, I'm game for a meet on the 29th if anyone else is...... any ideas about when and where?

wendyq the Plaza Pavilion is located at the end of main street on your right. You will see the plaza Ice Cream Parlor and there are open seating areas and the Plaza Restaurant. The Pavilion is a little furthur back and is a counter service restaurant.

Did you book through Walt Disney Travel Company, or use an agent that did? Using WDTC is what will get you the luggage tags, not being in concierge.

If you went through an agent, and they used WDTC, then maybe they kept the tags. May want to check. The tags aren't a must have keepsake, but they are cool.

I think we booked through WDTC, I just called the Disney Club 800 number. I wonder how long after you pay in full it takes for them to arrive? We've been P.I.F. for 3 weeks or so.

You are traveling with teen boys too, right? Are you staying in Tahiti or requesting another longhouse?

Also, you mentioned in another thread about the Luau- are you all doing it? Do you think it will be worth it? I think the kiddos we're taking would like it, but it seems kinda pricey. DH and I did a luau about 18 months ago in Hawaii on our honeymoon. I'm afraid I'd be disappointed with the Poly one in comparison.

I did get to speak with Tara at the Island Planners Office yesterday, she's a gem! Sounds kinda Texan more than Polynesian, though ;)

Hey, and did I mention that my DisneyTyme counter says 13 days, 23 hours, and 1 minute??? Yipeeee!:p (arriving 10 am on 7/25)

As far as I know, we'll be in Tahiti since that is the concierge.

It'll be me, my brother, sister-in-law and two nephews. Both have birthdays that week, so will be 12 and 15.

We've got Luau PS for Wedensday night at the 8pm show. We went last year, but before the show was changed. We enjoyed it, both the show and the food. It's isn't 5-star quality, but we like it. Also, it defintely wouldn't be the same experience as one in Hawaii, but the dancers and performers are from the islands, so give a great show.

To us it's worth it. Last year the 14 y/o was chosen to go on stage and dance with a Hula girl (his Uncle Scar was waving behind his head so he would be chosen), so we have to go back this year.

Yeah, I'm almost to 13 days...we plan on getting there by noon...but will be driving like heck to beat that time.

Uncle Scar- We did get our luggage tags in the mail on Saturday. Actually, we got two sets! One from our old resv for a GV room, and another from the updated, GVC reservation. The Luau sounds like alot of fun! We're doing a fireworks cruise, e-night, and F!, so I think we've got enough late nights for the little ones- have to save the Luau for the next trip. Just needed to chime in (and look at that countdown clock;) !
I'm so excited to be heading to Poly Concierge July 25 - 8/1.

I'm very excited that there will be fellow Dis'ers there. We will have our eyes out for all you. However I think we will be easier to spot. Two moms (30 somethingish), 4 kids - 2 of which are 6 year old boys, a 5 year old girl and a one year old girl. In the lounge we will be the ones trying very hard NOT to have the children everyone will be talking about on these boards on 8/2!:eek:

Not sure we will have the little ones in the park as late as the planned meets, but I do hope to run into you all at the Poly.

The paint chips are actually the paper swatches that show the color of the paint that is available. I laminated mine with my username in the middle and made a badge to wear while down there. Some have made lanyard tags out of them.

Ok we are in single digits also. How do those of you who pack 4 days in advance do it? Do you have a whole separate set of clothes for Disney. We are packing the day before and probably washing clothes most of that day. I'm excited, but DH had to go last minute to China for work. He comes back late Friday and we leave first thing Sunday morning, plus I'm teaching Vacation Bible School each night this week. Also caring for DD 2 3/4 and DS 4 1/2. I try to be focused but with a week like this it's hard. Hope to meet some of you while we are there 7/27 - 8/4. WL.

we have been having some rough afternoon storms for the past week or so. Tonights forecast is into this weekend. So you happy DISers kinda keep an eyeball on the reports before heading down. Pack your slickers and throw a couple of gallon zip locks in the old backpack. Good for cell phones and camera's.

Everyone that is driving, please be carefull Remember, gas up in GA as that is the cheapest gas you will get until you return. Don't gas in Jacksonville or Daytona Beach, they are jacked up for Tourists. For those that do not know Racetrack or Hess is the cheapest in the WDW area.

Mouseteacher, We are staying at the YC, by the skin of our teeth. We had 100mph winds this morning at about 6:30. It was sooo scary. We had huge trees crash down. We all lost our electricity. Thank goodness our came on at about 9:00 pm. Memphis took a really big hit, but no one was injured which was a miracle. I am definitely ready for Disney Magic. Our flight leaves at 6:50 am tomorrow. I can't wait. Are you staying at the Swan? I hope you have a safe trip. What grade do you teach? I teach 2nd and love it.:p

ET Threat ~ We, here in the Boston area, have been having tropical storms, too - successive days which is unusual. However, nothing as bad as what you are experiencing. I, too, was a Grade 2 teacher for many years and absolutely loved it! They booted (lol) me up to principal a few years ago. I still miss my classroom. BTW, wear a green ribbon - we are just across Friendship Lake at the Swan. We have PS for the Yachtsman Steakhouse on 7/24.

I was at the Plaza Pavillion on Tuesday night at 9:30pm and no one else was there, or at least not noticably there. Did get to meet MaryJ and Bobcat (great to put a face to a name now), but where were the rest of you? I had on a lime green Mickey Head badge and walked around the place at least three times and saw no one.
