DH, DD10, DD3 & I will spend Sept. 21 (Sun.) - Sept. 26 (Fri.) at the parks. We've never been to one of the water parks, but plan to visit Typhoon Lagoon this trip. Would you say this is the better choice of the water parks for our family? DD10 loves thrills, but we need to keep DD3's idea of fun in mind as well. Also, our current plan is to do TL on Sunday. Would that day be more crowded due to locals being there when, maybe they would be at school/work if we go on one of the week days?

Sunday mornings and Friday's during school time are usually the slowest in relative terms
10yr and 3yr old - tough combo - the 10yr old would probably like BB better but then the surf pool wave at TL is awesome
The 3yr old should love the ketachakiddie creek area at TL
have a great trip!
Thanks

I am fairly new to this disboard.
I just have to tell you how much I appreciate the tip about the water parks.
I am assuming what you suggested for a 3 year old might apply for a 5 year old as well.

Actually, we found more, marginally, for our 4-year-old at Blizzard Beach than at Typhoon Lagoon. Tike's Peak has more to do at BB than Ketchakiddie.
Typhoon does have a pair of slides for kids at the inlet of the wave pool so that does help balance things out a bit. However, the family raft slide (which, yes, your 3-year-old can do) is better at BB.
If your 10-year-old likes to snorkel or enjoys wave pools then TL may be the best bet even at that age. While BB's collection of body, mat and tube slides is at least twice as massive as TL's, TL's wave pool and snorkel reef make it a worthy park even if the slides are more tame.
You can't go wrong at either park -- and going in late September? Perfect. Just avoid Saturdays and you should be fine.
I'm a different person than the Sept. vacationer with the 3 and 10 y.o.s
I have a 5 year old and we're going on April. Still, your advise is helpful because I haven't learned much yet about the water parks.
