Does anyone know what's going on with the Electric Light Parade?

Which one? As far as I know, Walt Disney World's MSEP is still performed at DCA, while Disneyland's is either about to or has recently been replaced by Tokyo's Fantillusion parade at Disneyland Paris (confused yet?). WDW currently is showing SpectroMagic, and Tokyo Disneyland, last I heard, had an updated version of the MSEP called Dreamlights.

actually..

the MSEP being performed in DCA is the original DL one, with the one that just left tokyo being a hybrid of the original WDW and Tokyo ones (mainly WDW). Paris now has MOST of Fantillusion and Tokyo has Dreamlights, with WDW having Spectro.

I'm guessing the MSEP that just left paris will be heading to Hong Kong

 I just looked at the schedule for parades and such for WDW in July and after Spectromagic it said 'NONE". I hope it has not been canceled for good. I so wanted my 2y/o grandson to get to experience the parade during our visit in July. Does anyone know anything about this or has been there recently to see it?

Have you tried the listing for park hours on the Disney site? The link to "events and entertainment" shows Spectromagic running M-W-F and Sat for the week my family will be there in July.

They can't be serious... they are running the night parade at MK less then 7 days a week in the SUMMER? Maybe I should go to Tokyo for my Honeymoon instead of Orlando!

If you can afford it, you won't be disappointed! DisneySea alone is worth the trip.

Me too!!!!!!!!!. Ugh, my two passions in life are Disneyworld and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. My heart started racing here for a bit.

I guess I have to be happy that "Pita Gabriel" is there. I saw the real Pita (Peter Gabriel) last week and he was great. He didn't change the words for Sledgehammer to High Fiber though.

Anyway, I guess not ELP then. It would have been great to see the lasers bounce off of Spaceship Earth to "Karn Evel 9" or "Hoedown"

I miss MSEP I find it far superior to Spectromagic.

I don't know...if I wanted to go to JAPAN for my honeymoon, I think I'd rather go to Tokyo - if I wanted to go to DISNEY for my honeymoon, I'd rather go to Orlando, hands down, no question about it. If I wanted to go to Disney for a weekend, I'd go to California. If I wanted to go to Japan and see a couple of Disney parks while I'm there, I'd go to Tokyo. I think if the average American went to Tokyo planning to spend a week or so immersed in Disney the way you can be in Orlando, they'd be disappointed.

But going to Japan could make for an interesting vacation. I know a few people, my husband included, who would like to go to Japan. I wouldn't mind tagging along to see what may be the greatest theme parks in the world but it's SO far.

Then there's that little place in France... ;)

Well, Tokyo is only something like an hour away... It's not that difficult to combine things.
Hell, I've visited three Disney resorts within six weeks in 2000 - Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World, without heading into either Paris or Orlando, and didn't do all that much in LA either. I didn't get bored ;)

I know, but I don't think you got what I'm saying. If you wanted to go for a week or two to Japan for your honeymoon, go to Tokyo. If you wanted to go to a week or two at DISNEY for your honeymoon, go to Orlando-

Yes, but the poster indicated that he's been to WDW four times and apparently even worked there for a while. If it's familiarity and variety he seeks, WDW is his best bet.
If he is seeking superb quality and a *new* Disney experience, Tokyo would be ideal - while there are only two parks and not much in terms of recreational options, DisneySea offers almost all-new experiences and discoveries. Both parks combined probably offer as many high-quality attractions as three of WDW's parks.
The Miracosta looks like a beautiful hotel with plenty of potential of romance and relaxation.

It's all a matter of preference. If I had the choice, I would pick Tokyo (so would my wife). If I had never been to WDW, I'd pick WDW. Which is what we did.

Gee, I always though that Pirates of the Carribean was based on their song! : )

The Captain rose from a silk divan with a pistol in his fist.
And shot the lock from an iron box and a blood red ruby kissed.
